I open the door and see someone is in the pantry.
I set down my tablet on a counter and wash my hands in the sink making sure it is all clean. I hear the sounds in the pantry stop then see Charlotte's head peek out with something white on her cheek.
"Well hello there" I say, wiping my hands off on a towel that is on the counter. She gives me a smile then goes back into the pantry and says something I can't understand. I start to walk to the pantry to grab some food and as I reach the door Charlotte walks out almost bumping into me with some food in her hands.
I caught her by her shoulders. I let her go then step aside letting her set down the ingredients on the counter.
"Late night snack?" I say now standing beside her resting my hands on the counter next to where she was standing . "Not exactly," she says, holding out a fork with some food on it for me to try. I take a bite of the food which turns out to be mac and cheese.
"I was going to make you some dinner" her ears start to turn red" just because i didn't see you at the meals today" She takes the fork and picks up another bite of the mac and cheese now trying her cooking out. I raise my eyebrows surprised. She puts the fork back into the mac and cheese talking to herself about what she could of changed. I wipe the little bit of cheese that was on the corner of her mouth off with my pointer finger wiping it away into my hand.
"Thank you" I say giving her a slight smile meeting her eyes. She starts to clean up some of the extra food I try to help but was quickly stopped and told to eat the food she worked hard on.
I sat down and ate the meal which filled me up making me feel a lot better than when i got in here. I put the bowl in the sick washing it out while Charlotte sat just talking about her cooking and how it could be improved. Giving her no helpful input she pouted at me while I cleaned the dish and put it away. I finished cleaning then stood on the opposite side of the counter from her, my hands on the counter again allowing me to lean in.
"Let me walk you back to your room?" Her eyes lit up at the request. She stood up pushing in her chair then started to lead the way. I grab my tablet on the way out hitting the lights letting the doors close behind us. She leads us down the hallways to the bedroom wing that i was in earlier today, she starts to open a familiar door. When the door is open i see the messy bed with the clothes on it, letting out a small smile then covering my face before Charlotte turned around.
"Would you like to come in and play some cards or something?" She asks her hands joined in front of her looking up making eye contact with me. I look down at my messy state then look back up at her giving her a side smile.
"Another time?" She smiles and nods then heads into her room closing the door behind her. I head back to my room.
I threw my tablet on my bed and walked out of my shoes then went to the bathroom. I threw my clothes off in the laundry basket and stepped into the shower letting my thoughts run free and enjoying the warm water along my skin. I wash off all the oil and dirt from my body then clean my hair well.
I hop out of the shower and run a towel through my hair drying it a little bit then just letting it running a brush through it parting it properly. I grab a change of underwear and sweatpants and change into them. I sit down on my bed and look at my task that i didn't finish then some of the task for tomorrow. I updated the task i did today and then set the tablet on a wall holder letting it charge and set an alarm for 6:45 tomorrow. I cover up ,the tiredness of today hitting me i drift off the sleep.
