I own nothing
Note: (in High Valyrian)
Rae walked into the throne room of the red keep. Her long dark hair was down. She was dressed in a grey and red gown. Her amethyst eyes traveled around the room. It was like how it was now yet so different. The throne itself was much more menacing, intense, and commanding. There were piles of melted swords lining the stairs and stage where the iron throne sat. That was when she caught the sight of a man sitting on the throne. He was a tall board-shoulder man. He could command any room he entered. His hair was the same white color as Daenerys, but it was cut short. The man reminded him of her brother Rhaegar whom she had seen before. Yet still, there was about him that told her that it was not him. She moved closer to him. His purple eyes turned to catch her amethyst eyes. A charming smile graced his lips. He motioned for her to come closer. He rose from the iron throne. He stepped down the steps. He was as taller than Robert maybe even taller and broader than the mountain. On his waist was the sword Blackfyre which hugged by his hip and a catspaw dagger was tucked into his waist. He came closer until he reached her. He took her chin in hand looking at her.
"Raenera walk with me," The man said in a deep voice.
He wrapped his arm around her waist. They walked over the city below them. Dragons were dancing overhead. They were even larger than Drogon and Selaera. They looked different than Drogon or Selaera too. One was black as night in an instant she knew who the dragon was.
"Balerion," Rae said softly in awe placing her hand on the railing.
"Yes, I'm sure he would like you," The man said coming to stand next to her. She looked up at him. She was trying to figure out who he was. And why she was seeing him, but she was no closer to figuring out who he was. He placed his hand on top of hers regarding each other as he continued. "But that is not why you are here. I have no doubt you know about the great other that comes with winter. I for saw them coming. If we are to win, they needed to be untied. You will have to face many hard choices. Ones where one they're not a right choice. But in the end, you must do what is needed to bring them together if you hope to win no matter the cost."
Raenera looked at him still trying to figure out who he was but with an understanding look. She knew he was her Targaryen ancestor for Balerion to be here. It had to be 94 before Balerion died. The man took her chin to turn it to look at him taking a good look at her. He saw behind her many masks in a single look.
"You remind me of my wives. The beauty and grace of Rhaenys but at the same time the intelligence and strength of Visenya. A true Targaryen queen," The man said
"Aegon," Rae said softly in shock when she realized who was standing before her.
Aegon smiled at her. He pulled her close as the watched dragons fly overhead. Finally, as she overcame her shock, leaning down and kissing the top of her head like a father would a daughter as he did so he placed the catspaw dagger in her hands.
Rae opened her eyes as she felt Robb kissing her forehead. She opened her eyes. He smiled at her. There was a look on his face that Rae did not care for. She looked around the room at their chamber in Winterfell. His words still echoed in her mind.
"Love what is it?" Rae asked waking up more.
"A raven arrived from King Landing," Robb told her.
"What did it say," Rae asked as she sat up.
"Tyrion and Lord Varys are shocked. I have ordered the men to prepare to leave at first light," Robb explained.
"That's a four moons journey in this weather," Rae stated if Tyrion and Varys needed them now four months would not do.
"Do you any other way," Robb laughed knowing there was no other choice.
Rae got up and made her way over behind a dressing divider. She started to dress in a riding dress that was dark grey with dragons and dragons' scales on the shoulders. As Rae came out from the divider. There was a look on her face that Robb did not like.
"I do," Rae answered giving him a look.
"You cannot think of going alone," Robb argued.
"I'm not. Do you trust me," Rae asked?
"With all of me," Robb replied.
They exited the room. She looked to the guards by the door. She gave a look at Robb knowing her next words would give her plan away. The guards bowed their heads to her and Robb.
"Waking my sister and Lord of Dreadfort and have them meet us in the courtyard. We depart for King's Landing tonight." Rae ordered.
"It is dangerous" Robb reasoned as the guard went to do her bidding.
"Yes, it is but we are not on the ground," Rae agreed.
"You cannot be serious sweetheart. I won't let you do this," Robb tried.
"A dragon flies faster than any horse could ride. And who said you are not coming," Rae said as they entered the great hall.
"I'm no dragon rider. I am a Stark I have no dragon blood in me. I have no desire to end up a splat on the ground," Robb argued.
"I love you. Do you really think that I do anything that would harm you," Rae argued? She moved over cupping his chin. The eyes me. Her on the back of a dragon he did not like but he could accept. Seven hells even his children interacting with dragons he could accept. But himself did he really stand a chance on dragon back. "You are their father. Selaera would sooner kill herself than harm me or you. They listen to you. Dragon blood may not run in your blood, but you will be with me. Selaera is large enough to carry us both," Rae reasoned.
Robb looked at her in shock as they headed toward the courtyard. Jon had bonded with Rhaegal in the last four months. But even he had not been on a dragon's back. Rae looked back at Robb. He looked ready to fight.
"I know that sweetheart, but the blood of the dragon doesn't flow through me," Robb tried.
Rae turned and looked at him. She placed her hands on his belt. She looked up at him in the eyes.
"I need you by my side," Rae said.
"Rae" Robb said knowing what she was playing at.
"I do, Jon I trust, and I know you trust him with your life and no doubt mine. But I am heading into the unknown. If it enough to raddle Tyrion and Lord Varys I need my king by my side." Rae reasoned.
Robb sighed resting his forehead against her. He leaned in kissing her softly. He was not happy about it, but she was right.
Tyrion paced in front of the Iron Throne. Yes, he knew that Daenessa's letters may very well bring aid to Raenera's cause. But he never dreamed that 10,000 unsullied soldiers with a three-headed dragon breaking out of chains Raenera sigil burned into one side of their chest on the other side was a tiger. He knew that they had come from the Triarch of Volantis. Along with 40,000 sell swords with the emblem of Raenera on their armor. But what shocked him the most were the large chests about ten of them that they refuse to open for anyone but Queen Raenera Targaryen Stark. Beside the chests, there was one large box that looked like it housed a sword. The Valyrian knew told him there were talks of a Dothraki Khal and his khalasar coming after getting advice from the Dosh Khaleen. Lord Varys walked in with Ser Davos which causes Tyrion to pause in his pacing.
"Any news," Tyrion asked.
"None, my little birds tell me the raven arrived in Winterfell two days ago, but…" Lord Varys answered.
The doors were pushed open with great force. Four members of gold cloaks came in they head towards Tyrion. Tyrion could tell by the look on their face something has happened.
"What is it?" Tyrion asked.
"Dragons my lord hand they have returned," one of the gold cloaks told him.
"All six?" Lord Varys asked.
"No, my lord" One answered. Tyrion and Lord Varys exchanged looks. But something in the guards' eyes made told them there was more. Tyrion nodded for the guards to continue. "Ten of them," the guard finished.
"Ten," Tyrion asked in shock.
"Four of them are smaller," The guard told them.
Selaera landed in the dragon pit. Rhaegal and Drogon landed quickly after Selaera. They were quickly followed by Rhaenys, Visenya, and Viserion. They were followed by Meraxes and Vhagar and Nightfyre and finally Snowstorm. Snowstorm was the smallest of dragons he seemed to grow at a slower rate than other dragons. Raenera and Robb slide off the back of Selaera. Jon followed suit by sliding off Rhaegal and Daeny with Drogon. Robb as his feet hit the ground picked Rae up pulling her to lust filled kiss. They pulled away looking into each other eyes. It was thrilling to be on a dragon's back. Not that he ever be completely comfortable flying solo. Ser Markas and ten gold cloaks met them at the dragon pit.
"Your Graces welcome back to King's Landing," Ser Markas said
"Thank you, Ser Markas," Robb said. Robb turned to look at Daeny and Jon. Jon had uneasy look in his eyes. Then his eyes found Rae's eyes. The cold mask was back in place. Her joy of flying with him had long been forgotten. "Let's get this over with," Robb muttered.
Ser Markas lead them into the Throne room. Rae's eyes met Tyrion and Lord Varys they both bowed their head as she entered. She moved toward the Iron throne. Robb took up to stand next to on her the left with Jon. While Daenerys stood on Rae's right. Tyrion and Lord Varys took up a stance in front of the throne. Ser Markas stood in front of the throne with enough gold cloaks to act as queen guards.
"Show them in," Rae ordered.
Soon a man dressed like they were from Volantis entered he carried a bag many unsullied soldiers entered carried chests. Rae looked over to Daeny when she noticed the crest burned into the chest.
"You stand before, Queen Raenera of House Targaryen. First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen in the North, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, and Mother of Dragons. And Her husband King Robb of House Stark first of his name King in the North, King of the Andals, Rhoynar and First Men, Protector of the Realm, Lord Regnant of Seven Kingdoms, and Father of Dragons." Tyrion announced.
The man looked up at Raenera where she sat on the Iron Throne. He had a smirk on his face. He could see so much of his friend Daemon in her. The was a smart calculating look in her eyes. Yet there was a grace and beauty to her. She was not silvery blonde like Daenerys, but she had inherited the haunting amethyst eyes.
"Welcome to King Landing, Ser. Pray tell, what is your name?" Rae asked commanding the room.
"Vogar Flaerion Your Grace," The man answered. She gave him a nod. She was not sure what to make of all of this. Vogar looked over to Daenerys it was clear to see she was unhappy. It would seem Lady Daenessa's letter did not lie. The tension between the two was clear as day. He looked at Robb and the man that stood by her husband's side. They both look ready to defend their queen. For that he was glad. He looked back to Raenera bowing his head to her. "Dāria Raenera Targārien these issi gifts hen se Triarch hen Volantis," Vogar said as he put the bag in front of the throne. (Queen Raenera Targaryen these are gifts from the Triarch of Volantis.)
Rae looked over to Daeny. She had upset look on her face. It only grew when soldiers filed with the armor bearing Raenera's crest on their armor. They all dropped a knee to her. She looked over to Robb unsure. She could see why Tyrion was worried. She nodded to Ser Markas to take the bag. He opened it revealing a whip. Daeny let out a gasp.
"10,000 unsullied soldiers are yours. As well as 40,000 sell swords bought and paid for. They are yours to command. We have other gifts for you to show our support" Vogar stated
Vogar motioned to the unsullied soldier to present her with the chests. There was an unsure look in her eyes, but she did not let it show on her face. As he truly regards her, she looked just as powerful as the Valyrian dragon lords of old Valeria.
"Drāmmagon zirȳ" (Open them). Raenera ordered
A loud gasp filled the room when all the chests were opened to reveal about twenty dragon eggs. All of them were different colors no two were the same. Raenera was lost for words. She looked down to Tyrion and Lord Vary who looked just lost for words. Vogar looked at her with a pleased look on his face. Her eyes swung back to him. Her amethyst eyes seemed to cut through men like fire and blood.
"We have one more gift for you, Your Grace. Something that is very rare." Vogar told her. An unsullied soldier with her brand on his chest brought forward a scabbard. Rae sat up straighter on the Iron Throne. Ser Markas took the scabbard from the unsullied soldier handing it to Rae. She looked between Robb and Daeny. Her stomach was in her throat. She removed the sword from the scabbard. She went white as a ghost. She placed the tip of the sword in front of her like she saw Aegon do in her dream. This was Blackfyre Aegon's sword the sword that was passed from king to king "We felt it is only right once a true dragon sat the Iron Throne to return your ancestral blade to you," Vogar said.
Tyrion looked shocked at how quickly Rae's face transformed from shock to that of Targaryen Queen of old. She looked like Visenya or Rhaenys. She looked over to Robb and Jon they looked shocked at what just happened. Her eyes then went to Daenerys who looked ready to murder. Her eyes went back to Vogar.
"Thank you, Ser Vogar. The realm is pleased with your many gifts," Rae responds.
Rae sat in the small council chamber with Robb, Jon, and Ser Davos. She could feel a headache coming on. She never asked for all those men. Lord Varys and Daenerys came in. Daenerys looked ready to murder, someone. But one look at her sister's face told her she did not want this or plan this.
"How in the Seven Hells did this happen," Rae roared to Lord Varys.
"My queen I hate to be the one to tell you this, but this happened by letters being sent out by one Daenessa lover of your hand," Lord Varys said.
Tyrion at that moment walked in. Her eyes locked on him with the fire of the dragon in her eyes. Tyrion stiffen his spine as he made his way over to the table to her right side. He poured himself a goblet of wine.
"Lord Varys tells us that your paramour is responsible for my recent gifts," Rae said coldly.
"Daenessa I can assure you meant no harm, my queen," Tyrion tried to reason with her
"I need to speak with her alone," Raenera stated.
"Rae sweetheart is that wise," Robb asked.
"I doubt I will get any answers I seek here," Rae explained.
"Is there any reason to interrogate her," Jon asked?
"I for one would love to know why she got my sister sell swords and unsullied soldiers," Daeny replied.
"I will talk to her alone after lunch. For now, I wish to retire to my chambers," Rae ordered as she rose from her chair and made her way out of the small council chamber.
Rae and Daenessa headed out on the walk with Ser Markas with them. Rae had her hair braided in an integrated style almost a braid for every battle Robb and she had won. She was dressed in dark grey nearly black winter southern-style gown. It had a blood-red dragon on the sleeves. Daenessa wore a dress like Rae's only it was done in blood red, black, and with golden lions on it. Her long silvery blonde hair was tied half up and half down. They had not said a word since they greet each other. They made it the dragon pit. When they did Snowstorm let out a happy cry. He was now the size of a large house cat while Meraxes, Vhagar, and Nightfyre were the size of a wolf. Snowstorm made his way over to Rae and started to climb her gown. She could not help but smile. Daenessa had never seen a dragon up close. She had seen flying overhead but had never been so close to one. She was looking at them in awe.
"So Daenessa you have become the paramour of my hand?" Rae asked.
"Yes, your grace," Daenessa answered bringing her eyes back to Rae.
"Lord Varys tells me we could very well be distant cousins," Rae stated as she looked skyward.
Selaera landed with Meraxes and Vhagar and Nightfyre. It caused Daenessa to back up in fear. She could stand being close to smaller dragons, but Selaera was huge. Rae moved closer to Selaera placing her hand on her scaled neck. Selaera cuddled into her mother's hand. Rae turned and looked at Daenessa with a questioning look in her eyes.
"That is one way of putting it Your Grace," Daenessa replied truthfully.
"Since in a way we are family. I will ask you plainly. What are your true intentions?" Rae asked.
"I admit when I first came here, I had plans to supplant you. But one I met and fell for Tyrion. I couldn't go through with it. I gave up all ambitions for the Iron Throne. I wrote my siblings and told them that. They were not pleased at first. They had been working towards that goal for years. And to have it taken away in instant. You can understand their anger. But that changed once I wrote about the person you are and Queen you are. A true dragon. They agreed to drop their plans. But then I noticed Princess Daenerys envious looks and her carrying on with Oberyn Martell and his daughter. And how her once happiness to be by your side quickly turned. I knew you could lose it all. And I did not want to see that happen." Daenessa paused. She took a shaking breath. Rae motioned for her to come closer. Daenessa did so hesitantly. Selaera snorted at her as she approached. Almost like a warning. Visenya and Rhaenys landed quickly followed by Rhaegal. "So wrote them again. You see my brothers Daemon is a commander in the Golden Company. He assures me that your will, will be done. Whatever that means. My other brother Jaerys is a member of Daenerys' Second sons. He wrote me that he will be glad to stand with a true dragon." Daenessa stated.
Rae looked at her in shock. This was playing that game on a masterful level. Daenessa eyed the dragon cautiously. The looks on Rae's face and eyes gave nothing away. Rae seemed to be one with dragon flesh. Daenessa did not want to die in dragon fire.
"My sisters Eraella and Vaera are married to one of the Triarchs of Volantis and a powerful merchant in Braavos respectfully. My last sister Alyna now goes by Asavvi is married to a Khal of the great grass sea. So, you may have khalasar backing you." Daenessa finished she closed her eyes for a moment feeling the hot breath of Selaera on her body. Rae looked at the trembling young woman. This was the last thing she was expecting but this could work out even better. "So, yes if your Master of Whispers told you I brought about what transpired today. I guess it is true. But in all reality, I did it all for you, My Queen" Daenessa stated.
Daenessa fell to her knees. She was submitting herself to whatever Raenera's will was. She knew she could easily die in dragon fire. But she had borne her soul she just prayed she had done enough.
"Arise, Lady Daenessa," Rae ordered. Daenessa got to her feet. Rae motioned for her to stand next to her. When Daenessa is close enough Rae places Daenessa's hand on Selaera's neck with her hand over the top of hers. Selaera moved against Daenessa's hand. She looked over to Rae in awe. "You can inform Lord Tyrion you have my blessing to wed, cousin. May the Gods, whichever ones you pray to smile on your marriage," Rae told her.
Robb found Rae later that night standing on the balcony of their shared chamber. Her dark hair was now down in loose curly waves. She watched as the dragons circled overhead. It reminded her of watching Balerion fly in her dream. Blackfyre rested by the table near where she stood. It was like the weight of the world was on her shoulders. Aegon's words echoed in her mind along with his purpose. She knew she had ten dragons but what did that matter if she could not bring the seven kingdoms together. But how could she do that?
"Rae my love," Robb tried.
Rae turned to look at him with tears in her eyes. Robb instantly pulled her into his arms. He whispered comforting words into the top of her head. His hands ran down the back of her head.
"How did it go?" Robb asked.
"As well as it can. Daenessa will marry Tyrion in time," Rae said looking back to the sky.
Robb followed her. He wrapped his arm around her standing behind her looking out on the city. He could tell something was wrong. He knew she was not happy with the "gifts". Yet she will allow Tyrion to marry the woman that causes it.
"What's wrong sweetheart," Robb asked.
Rae turned in Robb's arms. Her amethyst eyes met his blue eyes. She leaned up kissing him softly. When she saw the concerned look on her husband's face.
"Do you know why Aegon, Rhaenys, and Visenya conquer the seven kingdoms," Rae asked softly.
"It is said that he saw a vast rich land," Robb started.
"No, he didn't. Well, he did also but he was like me," Rae explained. Rae and Robb regard each other for a moment. She spied the dagger from her dream on her husband's waist. She reached where the catspaw dragger that Aegon had on his belt in her dream. Rae moved towards the fireplace in the room. Robb followed quickly behind her. She placed the dragger in the flames. As the blade got hot it revealed High Valyrian's word on the blade. Robb looked in awe when he saw the words. "He saw the end of humanity. He saw them. And he knew if we would stand a chance, we needed to be untied that's why he did it," Rae revealed in tears as she pulled the dagger from the flames red hot.
"Rae," Robb said in shock that information changed a lot.
"Robb you know as well I do that more than half of our kingdoms think that white walkers are just children's stories to keep children in line. We need the seven kingdoms together to stand chance. For all the dragons we may have or for all the good that being the King and Queen of Seven Kingdoms does. You saw how easily that devotion and power shifted from Rhaegar to Robert to Joffrey to me. I need all of them on our side. What are we going to do?" Rae cried.
Rae rested her head on Robb's chest. Tears soaking into his doublet. He just held her close kissing the top of her head. He could see why the weight of the world was on her shoulders. He did not have the answers but maybe Tyrion would.
"I don't have the answers, but I know we will figure this out maybe with our council's help," Robb told her cupping her chin to make her look at him.
There was honest determination in his eyes and face. He leaned in to kiss her. They were lost in a breathless kiss.
I hope you like it. I Could not help myself with her dream with Aegon.
