Eddie's eyes closed as his hands curled around his face. A whine caught in his throat. He hated humans and that Trigger was no different. Although his supposed punishment with him was far more listless then others he was given. He shivered as his body acclimated to the room temperature which was far too cold for his liking. His eyelids tightened as his face struggled to soothe the rage underneath. Suddenly a flutter of fabric rained down onto his shivering form making Eddie's body lock up for a split second. The fabric was soft but heavy and smelled of fresh linen.
This unexpected softness surprised Eddie as he felt small hands release the edges of the blanket. Eddie's ears flickered as the sound of tiny footsteps scampered away from his frame. Eddie smelled the fabric again catching a slight undertone of another hybrid. It was quite uncommon for another hybrid to be in the same room with him, much less try and comfort him. Eddie nuzzled the fabric away from his face as he turned towards the smaller hybrid. Eddie's eyes widened as he stared at the small angelic angel that peeked at him from the doorframe. The smaller hybrid had unruly blond hair with soft feminine features. Eddie felt his cheeks heat up as the tiny female jolted from her spot slipping behind the wall into the other room. The sound of the glass door slid open allowing the humans back into the room.
"-So this can go in our favor. Oh!" Miles stopped to stare at the fabric lump on the floor.
"Is this your pets doing?"
"Waylon." Miles calls as he approaches his bedroom "There you are! Aren't you such a good little helper!"
Eddie watches as the tiny female runs up to the humans open arms. The man known as Miles picks her up and pets her back as she places her head into the crook of the human's neck.
Eddie frowned as his ears picked up the small ones content purring.
"Is someone jealous?" Trager mocked Eddie "You want me to hug you?"
Eddie growled out in warning, pushing his face under the soft cloth yet again.
"Waylon, Eddie will be staying with us for a while." Miles explained as he brought the hybrid into the same room.
"I'll be back to pick him up after the trial." Trager stated as he bent slightly to pet Waylon's hair "You really should have told me you had a cat one."
"Well it really wouldn't matter. All of the ones at the kennel where dog breeds anyways." Miles stated "Besides it's probably good to socialize with smaller hybrids that seem less threatening."
"True, But Waylon could also be in trouble if Eddie gets too 'excited'." Trager Emphasized as he stared down at Eddie.
Eddie growled at that.
"Well, it seems like it's getting late. I recommend keeping Waylon in the bedroom with you tonight. I'll get this one's kennel put up in the spare bedroom."
"Alright I'll call in some pizza for dinner. After we put the pets to bed we should discuss our plan of action."
Tragger nodded as he turned to pull Eddie up by his collar. Eddie shook with anger, grabbing onto the blanket with his teeth as he was ushered down the hall.
"Listen to me Eddie." Tagger said in a low tone "Be gentle with Waylon. His breed is very fragile and you could unknowingly hurt him with your definition of 'play' do you understand?"
Eddie stared back at the small hybrid as puffs of her scent entered his nose from the blanket.
Yes, he could be soft, he could be gentle, for his angel, for his...Darling.
