I must of fallen asleep while reading. My book was closed and put on my nightstand and my light off. I check my watch that i now have on my right wrist. It is 10 at night. I rub my eyes getting up i head to go grab some food. I pass by the area I welded off earlier that day and the hatch was closed off but the water was all cleaned up around the area. I head up the ladder i slid down earlier in the day now reliving the moment feeling pretty cool.
Smiling to myself i head to the cafeteria and grab a microwaveable pizza bar, finishing it by throwing the trash in the trash can by the door. I grab a water, flipping it while i walked down the hallway. Only a few people were up at this time giving me slight nods as I passed by them. I head to Caleb's work area to find him asleep on his keyboard. "Hey" i nudge his chair with my foot making him wake up with drool on his face. Making fun of his drool I received a punch in the side making me laugh. "I was wondering if you knew where my tablet was" i ask handing him the water bottle having him open the top for me.
He hands the bottle back to me and looks up the gps on my tablet i lean in behind him taking a sip of water watching the screen load. The screen shows a dot on the far right room on the bedroom wing. I choke on my water coughing setting down my water covering my hand with my mouth. Putting up my hand telling him i'm fine. "The rest of it is yours" I say pointing at the water bottle as i walk out. Caleb gives me a disgusted face the last thing i see before the door shuts is him throwing the bottle in the trash.
I head to the bedroom wing knocking on the door of the far right room. After a few minutes the door is open showing Charlotte with her hair messy and her slipping a bathrobe over her pjs holding it closed with her hands hugging around her. I give her a look over before meeting her eyes again. "Sorry for waking you up, i just heard that my tablet was here and I was wondering if i could get it" She walks over to her nightstand leaving her door open letting me step inside. She grabs the tablet with the strap and walks back to the door handing it to me now rubbing the sleep from her eyes. I thank her taking the tablet throwing it over my neck letting it hang on my good side.
I open the door walking out her watching me step out. "Oh cute pjs by the way" I say looking back over my shoulder smiling then walking off. I head off to my ship bay looking at all the task that built up on my tablet while i was sleeping and gone. I grab my tool box filling it with tools i think i will need to finish some of these chores. Grabbing it with my right hand i head out and do the task that were throughout the base not doing the ones in any of the bedroom wings so i didn't wake anyone up while i worked through the night. At around 6:30 i headed back to my ship bay soaked in sweat from working for the past 8 ish hours.
I set my tool box down sitting in a chair i pull my tablet around my shoulder checking off everything i finished. I only had bedroom stuff to fix and adding on some plating to the ceilings and more support hatches throughout the base but those required other people to help and it looks like it was scheduled for 9 am this morning and 3pm. I head to the cafeteria hoping to get some food still hot. Footsteps fastening behind me, I turn around an eyebrow raising to see Charlotte running behind me ready to scare me. Her face shocked when I turned , dodging her small push. She stumbles past me, i grab her around her stomach catching her and pulling her close to me so she doesn't fall. Getting her footing back i let go of her now walking toward the cafertina again.
"Why are you so sweaty this early in the morning?" she ask catching up to me now walking beside me.
"Are you trying to distract me so you get first pick at the food?" i tease smiling down at her. Her jaw drops not expecting me to tease her. "Oh so you tease now?" She says recovering from her shock and walking beside me once again.
She chats about having some of her work and hobbies she had. We get to the cafeteria seeing the food being laid out in front of us. "Ladies first" Charlotte slips in front of me sticking her tongue out at me. "This was your plan all along" I shake my head in defeat just smiling and walking behind her grabbing a plate after she does.
We sit down at the same table and eat the hot and fresh food. "You only get away with this because you are att-" I cut myself off short realizing what i was going to say. I blush, filling my mouth with food.
"What were you going to say?" Charlotte leaned in close to me, smirking. I turn away just filling my mouth without saying anything else making her laugh. I look back over to her to see her smiling her eyes full of life and that smile of hers just hooking me in making me want to stare at her. "Shit i've fallen for her" I thought sighing.
