I wake up not rested at all, turning off my alarm. I get out of bed and walk over to the mirror, seeing bags under my eyes. I splash water on my face to help wake me up then grab some jeans and a black tight fitting long sleeve shirt slipping them on.

I brush my hair into place with my hand before putting on my shoes and grabbing my tablet. I walk out of my room throwing the tablet over my shoulder. I head to the cafeteria, Gwen and Caleb are talking about a new system when I jog up behind them throwing my arm around Caleb. Giving me a small greeting before they go back to their original conversation. I half listen while I grab my meal looking around trying to find a certain face.

Over in the corner is Charlotte almost finished with her meal. I give a quick goodbye to my brother heading over to Charlotte. I set my tray down next to hers and slide it to the other side of the table making her look up at me before I sit down across the table from her. "Good Morning" I say, putting a smile on my face. She has a neutral look on her face as she takes the last bite of her meal and starts to get up. She gives me one last look, "Good Morning" then she turns and starts for the door.

I leave my tray on the table following behind her, reaching her in the hallway. "Wait, I want to talk to you" I say as I turn the corner into the hallway. "I have to get to work," She says, still walking away toward the med bay. "C'mon, don't make me do this" I say as we turn down another hallway. "Do what?" She asks, turning around just in time to see me punch myself in the face causing my nose and mouth to bleed.

Her face fills with shock as she steps toward me and grabs my face. "Are you an idiot?!" She pulls my face closer to hers to make sure I didn't mess anything up that bad. I grab her hands that are on my face. "I am definitely an idiot, but this was the only way I could get you to stop. And if it didn't work i was going to pull the I need a medic card" She starts laughing putting her hands on my chest. I let my arms go around her waist and smiled down at her. She looks back up into my eyes a smile now on her face.

I close my eyes and lean in to give her a kiss when i'm stopped by her hand with a tissue on it being pressed to my mouth. "Not a chance with all that blood on your face" She wipes the blood that was going down my face then hands me another tissue to hold my nose with. She throws the first tissue in the trashcan nearby us and grabs my hand. "Let's go" she leads me to the med bay. Inside the med bay there are 3 other nurses and a small line of people that are sitting in chairs on the side of the room.

She sits me down on a stool and grabs some wet wipes and a pack of light painkillers. My nose has stopped bleeding and she wipes down the blood that was on my face. "We still need to talk about yesterday" I nod, meeting her eyes but not saying a word she laughs at my eager face. "But let's wait until we are more.. alone" She says gesturing to all of the people in the room.

She grabs the wipes and throws them in the trash behind her and grabs two pills offering them to me. "Nope I'm good it was worth the pain" I put up my hand in front stopping her from handing me the pills. Earning a smile from my comment. " I'll walk you out" She says, taking a step toward the door waiting for me to follow.

When we get outside the door and out of view she pulls me into a kiss that I melt into. She deepens the kiss quickly then breaks away leaving me wanting more. She turns back to the med bay with a blush along her ears. "I'll see you later" she says as she walks into the med bay. Gaining my bearings I now notice the two small pills that were in my mouth. I quickly swallow them and head off to my ship bay with a smile.

I finished all the tasks on the base I needed to do with 10 mins to spare before lunch. I drop my gear off at the ship bay and grab my tablet before heading out to lunch. I am one of the first people there and grab a sandwich and a water and find a seat facing the door. I see a lot of familiar faces come in, some giving me greetings before sitting with their friends or co-workers.

In comes Charlotte, she makes eye contact with me before she grabs her food, giving her a smile and waiting for her to come sit by me. I wait and wait seeing people come out of the line sitting down but no Charlotte.

I put my tray away and looked around the room finding her at a table with her back to the wall and that annoying kid from the dance sitting across from her. I head over to her table meeting her eyes with a fake smile on my face.

I sit down on her left side on the small bench meant for 2 people max. Giving a small nod while sitting down letting them continue their conversation. I slip my right hand onto Charlotte's thigh rubbing my thumb back and forth on top of her yoga pants. She flinches at my touch, making me smirk. The boy notices her flinch and asks if she is okay and she just excuses it as a cold chill changing it back to the topic they were talking about before.

Not listening to the conversation at all I make sure to keep my eyes on the person talking while focusing on my hand moving it more to her inner thigh, now moving my thumb in slow back and forth movements. The boy in front of me keeps giving me side glances.

"You are the guy from the dance!" He finally says standing up slightly with his hands on the table in front of him. His sudden comment made me stop moving my thumb. I remove my hand from her thigh making sure to slide it all the way off. I reach my hand up, offering it up to be shaken. "My name is James, nice to officially meet you…" The boy in front of me grabs my hand slowly shaking it. "Ethan" He says before letting go of my hand and sitting back down.

I sit back down putting my right hand in my pocket and my left arm on the table resting my chin on my thumb letting my other fingers cover my mouth. "Did you come with the new group that just got here?" He says, interested in who I am. "I did" I gave a short answer hoping to stop this conversation but it proved to be hopeless as the boys continued to talk. "Just got here and already have eyes on the most beautiful girl on the base" He says nodding toward Charlotte who stiffened at his words.

I let my fake smile drop for a second, luckily the girl sitting next to Ethan hit him making him not look at me. I can't say the same for Charlotte who gave me a side eye. I returned the smile to my face making eye contact with Charlotte. "Well of course, I heard great things about her and I just knew I had to meet her and get to know more about her." I say, not breaking eye contact.

"I did hear that she saved a man that showed up bleeding out and in severe condition with only the med kit she had in her room" I said looking back at Ethan. "I've always wanted to hear more about that" I say, giving a smirk to Charlotte.

Our watches go off letting us know lunch is over. Ethan and the girl grab their trays and give us a quick bye before dashing out.

I lean in close to her ear "Saved by the bell" I whisper into her ear letting my breath be felt on her neck. I leave the blushing Charlotte alone at the table and head out to the ship bay happy with how lunch break went.
