I woke up to the door opening and David walking in with my parents and Winter. I cover my eyes at the lights now on and sit up. The blanket falls down to my lap leaving my chest exposed.

"What did you do to the map?" David asks, walking over to the holographic globe and spinning it. "I used my chip to update it with all of the log data I had." I say holding up my tablet. David zooms in and out reading all of the notes that appeared on the big map that I wrote down on my map as I traveled. My eyes now adjusted to the light.

I notice notifications on my tablet. I open up the screen and see 2 messages from Caleb, 1 message from Richard, and 16 messages from Charlotte.

I checked Caleb's message first and the first message was I will keep my camera open all day long please join the stream when you wake up.

The second being a link to his stream. I pull mom and dad to the side while Winter and David are going over the new map and new ideas to travel and meet up with the base. I pull out the ear buds from my watch and give one to each of the parents and hand them the tablet after hitting the link. A few seconds later Caleb working on something to his right shows up.

He has grown a slight beard in the days I've been gone and had bags under his eyes. He leans back in his chair frustrated at the thing to his right and that's when he notices us three on the screen.

He turns, tears in his eyes and a smile on his mouth, looking at our parents. I let them talk for a little bit and let them know I've gone to grab some food. I run into Perseus, we talk as we walk and eat a little about the plan and work we had ahead of us and just sharing some good memories.

We split ways in the hallway back to the med bay and I headed to the control room. My parents hand me the tablet back, now done chatting with Caleb and now are listening to the group talk about the work and materials they need to get today to start working on the next cyclops.

After going over the list people head out one by one getting to work until my parents leave, my dad patting my shoulder on the way out. David shows me the plan of what i need to finish today then walks out with Winter. Now the last one in the room i check my messages. Richard's message only states that he saw the videos and is now in contact with the cyclops.

Charlotte sent me questions about how the trip was, did anything go wrong, how bad is the situation, when does it look like i will be able to come home, along with several over messages. Then she sent my a picture of my ship bay with the lights off and me barely able to see a reflection of her from the table, with the caption "I miss you" under it.

I quickly took a picture of my hand wearing my ring holding it tightly just replying "I miss you too, save me some time tonight i'll make sure to call you." After sending the message I slipped into my wetsuit and started the work for the day.

I was on building the base of the new cyclops my dad along with winter and 15 other people were all helping. The only breaks we took were for lunch and dinner where I would chat with Perseus or my family. After a long hard day of working i got my time off to sleep a few hours before going back to work tomorrow morning.

I took a shower before changing in some shorts and socks and heading to my cot in the control room. It was already midnight giving me about 6 hours of sleep before i have to get back to work. I make sure noone is in the wallway and close the door. I sit against the wall my cot is next to and video call Charlotte

. It rings one time before Charlotte picks up. She is in a white button up pj shirt and some pink shorts, her hair is down and a little wet by the looks of it. I unconsciously smile at just seeing her face realizing how much I really missed her now.

In a hurry she asked me all those questions i was texted this morning, answering all of them until she was satisfied that i was alive and well. I told her all about my parents being here and our plan, hoping that i will be back in 2 months time maybe a little longer. I told her about Perseus and how we have already become good friends from just my second day being here.

I asked her how her life was in these past 14 days. I laid down with the tablet now being propped up by the wall, Charlotte lays down as well, telling me about how they started making new plans to add places for the incoming crewmates and how she just got let back into the med bay after she had a forced break because she couldn't focus.

Feeling at ease listening to Charlotte I fall asleep still on video call. Four hours later my alarm goes off waking me up, i quickly turn off my alarm seeing Charlotte asleep on the video call still. Smiling at her I take a quick screenshot as I hear people walk down the hallway and end the call. I send her a message to sleep well before grabbing a t-shirt and heading out to the food hall and grabbing breakfast.

My days went on slowly. Wake up, work on building the new cyclops, eat, talk with Perseus and my family, make a few more friends as I work, texting Charlotte when I can, sending her pictures of me after work or right before bed or out of the shower.

Over the past 2 months i have gotten really close with Perseus, we would talk about books and theories when we were together and our dreams when we get off this planet. He would tell me about wanting love and be able to give that woman everything and I would make fun of him for being so handsome that the girls are scared to confess to him.

In a lot of ways we are very similar, both have snarky comments and like to mess with people, our careers are the things that really sets us apart. But even in a way we are similar in that department, he fixes people and I fix machines. Both are creators and inventors of sorts.

In two long months we finally finished the cyclops 2.0 and today is the day that I swim down and free the lifepods. I get up early and shave my face, leaving it smooth, then I go get a good breakfast sitting with Perseus and my parents. My mom is happy to see my clean shaven face, giving me a kiss on the cheek when she sits down.

After we eat, we all head to the control room and to be greeted by David and Winter and some older engineers that helped on the cyclops. Going over the plan one last time then people getting ready within their stations. I pack my bag with plenty of air containers to hand out if needed and get on my wetsuit and diving boots. I grab my mask and hook it onto the front of my wetsuit.

I put my belt on making sure it has my knife and flashlight and hooking my mask part to the side of the belt. I grab my flippers and grab my tablet. Before I leave the room I was changing in, I take a video of myself in my wetsuit kissing my ring and saying "I love you Charlotte Wylde." Watching the video back made me blush, I quickly sent the message along with another one saying "I can't wait to see you in a couple of days" before heading outside to the hatch.

I give my mom and dad one more hug before I slip out of the second hatch into the water. I start to make my way down directly from the cyclops easily clearing a few hundred meters, once I reach 1,500 depth my ears build up pressure wanting to pop. I get down another 500 meters and have to start using my flash light to find my way around. Soon I find the first lifepod and after some swimming i see the rest of them in a line tied together some half crushed and some mostly crushed.

I send a message to Perseus warning him to ready because the condition of the tubes were worse than we originally thought. I put the tablet back around my back and get my knife out cutting the ropes that hold the lifeboats together. After a few hours and going through 3 air tubes I have released all the ropes and moved some of the smaller rocks out of the way. I start with the least crushed one, i slash the inflatable part that was being held down causing the lifepod to shoot up towards the surface being pulled by one of the three inflatables left working.

This method worked for the next 5 lifepods, they all safely shot up to the surface where a team on the new cyclops was helping them into the cyclops with Perseus the first doctor on hand treated all of the wounds and life threatening injuries.

Lifepod IV was the strongest but also had the most rocks on it holding it down. After trying to move the rocks on top of the lifepods with no luck I go inside lifepod IV and grab the tube and start connecting it to the other lifepods letting the crews of the smaller ones move into the bigger life pod and strap in. I put the tube back, closing the hatch. I take the cut ropes and wrap them around the rock on top of the large lifepod and wrap them around a large rock opposite of it. Tying another rope to the middle I swim with that last part of the rope and get with my feet underneath a large rock formation and push and pull with my entire body.

After a few seconds I feel the rope become looser and come out from under the rocks to see the two boulders falling toward me and the last lifepod shoot up towards the surface.
