"Yeah, I'm figuring that...", Susan said as Bucky leaned back; unaware that things might not go well with Carl at first thanks to events he wasn't aware of. The plane soon landed near Modesto as everyone relaxed.
"So, are we sure we're alright to do this? I mean, it's not going to be a problem for us walking around?", Tara asked as Monger shook his head.
"As long as you don't go on any sort of rampage; it's all good now. We'll obviously have to clear the air with some of the closest to you, such as your fiancé.", Monger explained.
Tara frowned, "Why, what happened?", and Monger sighed heavily, "I guess as you guys aren't classified secret anymore, I can say the truth now. CIA who put me in charge of you all, they are skilled in changing things that aren't supposed to be there...Don't worry, your parents didn't forget this time, but...well, when Barnes and Susan came in, your parents had to forget...".
"What did you do?", Bucky asked as he was feeling tense. "Before with you... we had to weave a story that you abducted Susan and that the wolf that Carl Murphy saw was a hallucination.", Monger explained. "Since Tara was deemed too young, it could easily pass off that she maybe saw things wrong and that she was hallucinating from drugs too.". Bucky felt shocked by this revelation.
"Before the Quantonium... I almost completely forgot about you, Uncle Bucky... except my favorite animals were always wolves... maybe part of me still remembered.", Susan exhaled.
Mo kissed her cheek gently and said, "Which was a good thing, and now, look at all of us. We're super-powered people with different abilities.", and Susan smiled softly.
Tara then looked at Monger, "What did you do at the church?", and Monger exhaled, "We had to weave a story that it was a gas explosion in the church that killed both of you...Only your parents know the truth as it was more complicated than ever since it was both of you...".
Tears filled Tara's eyes, "Please tell me that there's a solution to fix Derek's memories...", and Monger sighed, "It's typically a phrase from the past or something that would fire up memories again, but would you rather want him to remember...well, the embarrassing parts and all?".
Tara sniffled as she sighed, "Well, I suppose he might as well; not like I can hide the height and all, he'd pretty much know and might be upset that I was even trying to hide things from him. Marriage is built on trust after all.".
Susan, Mo, and Bucky's hearts clenched in anger, knowing that Derek never trusted Tara entirely, having done disgusting and horrific things in his own selfish goals, but kept on with normalcy in their expressions as much as possible.
Monger nodded, "Alright, and I have to warn you, the fight was seen on tv, thanks to a few news helicopters who hung back in the evacuation of San Francisco, so chances are that all of you might get fans sooner or later, but right now, Modesto is waiting for you, and I called your parents that you're coming.".
"Suppose it was too hard to hide that...", Susan chuckled. "It runs in the family after all. Captain America and Captain Britain certainly are some of the many faces of the Allied victory. Like John Basilone... crazy to think Manila John bought it on Iwo.", Bucky sighed.
"I always thought I might become famous... just certainly not like this.", Tara rubbed her arm as she felt nervous.
Susan patted her hand, "I wouldn't blame you if you are used to the fact that fashion designers are famous in their own right, but yeah, being heroes is a different story, and don't worry about it. We're with ya, Tara.", and nods of agreement rang around the plane compartment, smiling at Tara.
The sound of the plane landing and soon coming to a stop quickly startled the group for a moment since there were no windows in the cargo hold. After a few moments, it sounded like the engines were going idle which meant that they were about to get off.
"And here we are… Modesto.", Monger said. "Hey, Susie… you mind letting me stay back for a few moments, just so you can quickly clear the air about me to Carl and Wendy? … I don't want to suddenly be attacked or having the cops called on me.", Bucky asked.
Monger spoke, "I also called the Modesto police too, so you're fine there, but I cannot stop people from reacting...After all, even in this world, we have phobic people.", and Bucky smiled, "Thanks, General, appreciate that.".
Susan then replied, "All the same, yeah, I will have you stay back, probably around the corner, but don't worry, like I said, they will like you. After all, they raised me after thinking that my folks are dead and all..they shouldn't have, but they did because they are good people.".
Mo chuckled, "Couldn't have said it better, Susan.", and Bucky nodded, "Indeed. Okay, let's do this thing.". After bidding Monger goodbye, the quartet left the plane, and walked on through Modesto's suburbs, heading for the Murphy family house.
"You sure I'll be alright?", Mo whispered to Susan. "I mean, you got two pairs of parents to properly introduce me.".
"Relax, Mo, they'll like you. Besides, right now, we still haven't started anything so no need to say we're already dating or something.", Susan reminded. "True… that's true.", Mo took a deep breath.
Tara then replied, "And you don't have to worry about me. I approve of you guys...Somehow, I can see you being right for each other.", and Bucky nodded, "Yeah. I have to admit that it's a tad strange, but after seeing that Mo nearly sacrificed his life for you, I think Steve and Peggy would approve of this love, just like I already do. I'm happy for you two.".
Susan smiled happily and widely, squeezing Mo's hand, and Mo chuckled, squeezing her hand right back, and after 10 minutes, they finally arrived at the Murphy house with Bucky staying back on the sidewalk around the corner, and Mo stayed with him for support, figuring that there is to be a reunion first, and the girls would need some love and attention by Carl and Wendy for some moments.
"You gonna be alright?", Susan asked as she was keeping at 25ft with Tara. "Yeah, I'll be more than fine! I'm free, everything is going to be alright now, and hell, I'm gonna be a mother!", Tara started to tear up. "Just have to get back with Derek and make up for the wedding.".
Susan held back a sigh, not wanting to go through another re-wedding of Tara and that bastard, praying that another miracle would happen for Tara to find out the truth, and smiled, "Of course.", before hearing Carl and Wendy's joy-filled shouts, "Tara, Susan!".
"Mom! Dad!"
"Papa! Mom!", Both Murphy girls cried as their parents rushed out the door towards them, Susan quickly shifted back down to her smallest size of 10ft to be able to at least better hug the two of them.
"Oh, thank God you two are alright...", Wendy sobbed as she buried her face into Susan's shoulder.
Tara kneeled down as Carl hugged her, "Oh, Tara!", and Tara cried happily, "Oh, Daddy!", as Susan and Wendy smiled, with tears in their eyes, coming to Carl and Tara, and the hug became a family hug of sorts, with kisses on their cheeks and caresses of their hands.
"Oh, darlings! I thought we were never going to see you again!", Wendy sobbed, and Tara smiled, "It's okay, Mom, we're here now. We are free, never to be imprisoned again, and we are never going to leave you again on purpose or accidentally.".
Carl asked, "Did they hurt you or anything?", and Susan smiled, "No, Papa, we're both fine. I guess you saw the fight down in San Francisco, huh?".
"How could we not... it was on practically every channel. We were shocked when we saw you two especially. Are you alright, Susan?... we saw you took that hit and thought you were dead...", Wendy explained.
"I'm alright... roughed up, but I heal easily... there's... wow, now that I think about it, there's a lot you two need to know after what happened that day with Tara and me.", Susan said.
"Turns out there was way more to Susan than we all thought... not to mention you should probably tell them about your previous family?", Tara teased.
Carl blinked in confusion, "What do you mean, previous family?", and Susan smiled, "You remember the day you found me, in the woods?".
"Why couldn't we? It's the day we gained another daughter in you, Susan.", Wendy said, and Susan smiled bashfully, "Well, that isn't exactly the whole truth. The man and the wolf were both in one...You saw him saving Tara.".
Carl looked confused for a moment as Susan sighed, "Listen, I know it's a lot to take in right now, but first things first... the wolf is my Uncle Bucky... he was the one with me when you found me. The same group that captured him that day and Tara and me a few weeks ago, fed you a lie about him. It was an elaborate government conspiracy to hide the existence of monsters. That's why you were told you were seeing things when the truth was, he could be a wolf and he was no kidnapper, but rather my protector.".
Carl widened his eyes, looking to Wendy, remembering the few instances he thought about that day when reminiscing about it, realizing that he was literally right, and exhaled, "I knew something was off...But how did you get there in the first place?".
Susan rubbed the back of her neck with a chuckle, "We can explain everything...Right now, Uncle Bucky is waiting for my signal...He's nervous...He's with Mo, one of the others.".
Wendy raised an eyebrow, "Is he the gorilla shifter man who saved you?", and Susan smiled, blushing lightly, "Yes, he is. And before you ask, we're not dating yet or anything...We are just starting to understand each other about our feelings and all, taking it slow...no rush...".
"You... you already found a boyfriend?", Carl raised an eyebrow. "I said we're not dating yet!", Susan snapped as Carl chuckled.
"Sure... that's what you girls have always said... then next thing we know, you're already engaged.", Carl grinned. Susan rolled her eyes as she looked over to where Mo and Bucky were hiding for the moment before she waved them over.
Bucky and Mo made their way to the family, and Bucky bowed his head in guilt and anxiety, "I'm sorry for scaring you that day...I didn't intend to do that accidently...I was instinctively protecting Susan from that dog...Susan is like a cub to me, my brother's cub, and I was trying to keep a promise...".
Carl can see the emotions conflicting in Bucky, and sighed deeply with a smile, "It's no harm, Bucky, is it? And seeing how you cared for Susan and Tara like that in the fight on the channel, well, it makes you good in my book. You are clearly able to control your powers and all.".
Bucky looked at Carl, and then smiled in relief, seeing Susan smirk at him as like she's telling him, 'I told you so.', and Bucky smiled, "Well, then, it's my honor to meet you, Mr. Murphy...I would never thank you enough for raising my niece, along with your wife...I know Steve and Peggy would be glad to say the same once they get here soon enough.".
Both Carl and Wendy looked at each other. "When they get here? You mean, they're alive?", Wendy asked.
"Like I said, long story.", Susan rubbed the back of her neck. "But, yes, my true parents are alive, well, and heck, I already have a baby brother!". This obviously was still a lot for the Murphy's to take in, so Susan took a deep breath and held her hands up. "Okay, we'll obviously need a little time for that, so how about putting the easy stuff out of the way? Mom, Papa... this is Mo.", she introduced.
Mo smiled politely, "Mr. Murphy, Mrs. Murphy. I am Mo of the Gorilla Tribe of my home, Skull Island, and I am in love with your daughter.", with a tender glance at Susan who blushed warmly.
Having never seen their second daughter before like this, blushing and all, and having seen the fight on the channel, somehow Susan and Mo work seamlessly together, and of course, with powers and size-changing, it makes sense for Susan to find someone who sees her for she is, not what she is, or what she has.
Wendy and Carl shared a look of a well-devoted couple like they are, and knowing that their second daughter is an adult, and she knows how to care of herself just brilliantly fine, they smiled warmly, and looked back at Mo, "We love our daughter, and we wouldn't dare to destroy her dreams or wishes, and if you intend to love her with everything you have, we wouldn't mind as long as you don't hurt her on purpose or worse.".
"Wouldn't dream of it.", Mo smiled as Susan gently grabbed his hand. "I know it really only has been three weeks, but so far, I think Mo certainly is a fairly good man... and certainly probably the closest match for me in terms of what we are on this planet.", Susan blushed.
Wendy nodded, "As long as you're sure, Susan.", and Susan smiled surely, "I know I am.", squeezing Mo's hand warmly, and Mo smiled happily.
Tara smiled, and then glanced around, "I thought Derek would be here.", and Carl replied, "Well, he got the new job in Fresno.".
"Well, then I better get going! I have to tell him everything.", Tara nodded, and then grew up to 50 ft tall, "Will be back later! And oh, you're gonna be grandparents!", with a grin on her face as she then headed off in a steady sprint, careful of her child even if she's only in the furthest part of the 1st trimester.
Susan frowned, and glanced at Bucky who nodded, knowing her worries, and shifted into his wolf form, heading into the forest, out of Tara's sight as he followed her.
"I'm sorry... did she just say...", Wendy nearly went into shock from the news. "Mom... Papa... you two are going to need to sit down and listen before you get excited. There's... something that you really need to know.", Susan said as the look on her face screamed that she was deathly serious.
"Feel free to come inside then to tell us... but I get a sick feeling I might already know what you're going to say, Sue.", Carl grimly whispered.
Mo nodded, "Let's head in.", and with nods, the Murphy parents went in, with Mo being a gentleman, keeping the door open for Susan when they heard a sonic boom, with Susan pausing halfway in, "Oh, please, not another meteor.".
They looked up and Susan gasped, "No way...", seeing her mum's giant form as Human Torch, flying down a street over from the Murphy house, with Steve in her arms, with Henry in Steve's arms, and landed, turning her fire powers off, smiling widely as she shifted down, helping Steve down, with Henry giggling and clapping his hands.
"Everything alright? Nothing missing?", Peggy asked as the family slowly tried to regain their bearings. "No, doesn't feel like it... Henry seems fine. I think it worked, Peggy.", Steve smiled.
"Well, at least Stark's changes didn't cause any undo side effects... at least not yet.", Peggy obviously didn't want to jinx anything. "I think I landed us a bit off though.", Peggy looked around. "Doesn't look like the right street.".
"I think we're off by a few houses...", Steve said before they soon heard running and turned to see Susan charging right for them. Their smiles grew wide before Susan crashed right into Peggy's arms.
"Mum...", Susan sobbed, tears of joy in her eyes as she was wrapped in a tight hug from her true mother. "God, please... don't let this turn out to be a dream... I wake up and I'm still in prison...".
Peggy hugged her so tight, whispering, "No, no, my miracle, this isn't a dream. Oh, sweetheart!", backing slightly to hold Susan's cheeks in her hands, "Oh, look at you...I know we already have watched over you, but god...You look so beautiful...You're truly part of me and your father.".
Susan sobbed, "Mum...I missed you so much!", rediscovering her mum's perfume, and Peggy kissed all over her face, "Oh, Susan...I'm right here, we're all here.", before Susan felt something tugging at her pants.
Susan looked down to see Henry smiling gummily as he spoke, "Susa! Susa big sis!", reaching for her, and Susan sobbed with tears, "Oh, Henry, you said my name! You said it!", picking him up and hugging him, kissing him on the cheeks, "Oh, look at you! You're so big already!".
"Well, he's six months already... you were talking even sooner than that... with what short time we had.", Steve said as Susan turned to hug him.
"Dad...", Susan kept sobbing; the whole family minus Henry was all having tears of joy at the long-awaited reunion. Maybe it didn't feel as heavy in ways due to the fact that they at least saw each other many times over through Susan's years of life; despite only really nearly two years for Peggy and Steve's perspective. But the reunion was all as much impactful.
