Hey loves! I'm back again, here is chapter two. Once again I do not own high school musical or any of the characters or songs. I only own this plot, if I did own HSM I'd make more movies or get the original cast together again. But all credit goes to Kenny Ortega and Disney, enjoy!

The next day...

Today was the day, Maria and Greg had finally agreed to meet for dinner at the Montez house that afternoon, and Gabriella would finally meet her birth dad. Gabriella was a mess, she didn't listen in class and forgot to hand in her chemistry essay. The gang were getting concerned, this was really taking its toll on their friend.

"Gabby, I'm sure he just feels bad and wants to apologise." Taylor said. She and Gabriella were in a scholastic decathlon meeting and Gabriella was once again refusing to function. "I mean, what more could he want?"

Gabriella scoffed, "Tay, I appreciate you trying to help, but I know this man. He has never loved me before, he's up to something I can feel it." Gabriella said.

Taylor laid a hand on her shoulder, "stop worrying, he's your dad, what's the worst he can do?" Taylor said.

Gabriella sighed, Taylor was right, she was just nervous. But then why did she feel the uneasy feelings in her stomach? Why did her heart tell her to not go home? What would happen?

Finally, school was over and Gabriella met with her friends to go to her house. But when they got to the front door Gabriella froze.

"Brie, I promise you'll be fine, we're right here." Troy told Gabriella.

"I just feel...uneasy about this." Gabriella whimpered.

Just then a loud bang was heard from inside the house. "Mom!" Gabriella cried. All the teens burst into the house and ran to find the source of the noise.

Greg Montez was a tall man with brown hair, he looked young but had scars on his face. He had Maria pressed against the wall with a hand holding her throat. "Hey! Stop, leave my mommy alone!" Gabriella cried.

Greg turned and let Maria go. He gasped when he saw his daughter for the first time. She was so beautiful and so big now, he really helped make this?

"oh my gosh...Gabriella?" Greg asked, Gabriella nodded. "Oh wow, you're even more beautiful than I imagined, I'm Greg."

Gabriella looked at her mom, who nodded. This was indeed her father. "Hi Greg." Gabriella greeted dully.

Greg looked hurt for a moment, but then smiled and patted her head. "And who are these kids? Wow Maria, popping them out left and right I see." Greg said.

Maria bit back her remark and walked over to the teenagers. "No Greg, these are gabby's friends. And this is her boyfriend Troy." Maria said.

Troy smiled, "it's nice to meet you Mr Montez." Troy greeted, holding out his hand. But Greg simply shrugged.

"just like your mom, starting young. You'll have your first baby by seventeen." Greg said as he sat down at the table. "We gonna eat or what?"

Once the table was set with all the food everyone began to serve themselves. Except for Greg, he sat silently watching his daughter interact with her friends. Laughing and chatting nonstop, she looked so happy.

"Greg? Are you going to eat?" Maria asked.

"yeah, with chad here everything will be gone in a few seconds." Zeke joked.

Greg sighed, "actually no, I'm not hungry. But I want to give you something Maria, something that will change our lives." Greg told her. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. "I'm suing you for full custody of Gabriella"

Gabriella gasped and tears filled her eyes. "W-what?" She whimpered.

"absolutely not Greg, you can't look after Gabriella do we agreed she stays with me." Maria argued.

"not anymore Maria, I've got evidence that you have history with child abuse and child endangerment. The court will never side with a criminal." Greg smirked.

"you can't do this!" Gabriella cried, "I'm happy here!"

Greg stood and shrugged, "gabby, it doesn't matter if you're happy here. It's a matter of safety." Greg said. He looked at the two women who were his "family" "see you both in court." He left the house.

Gabriella cried into her moms chest while Maria tried her best to sooth her. Nothing could make this all ok. "I'm so sorry baby girl, so so sorry." Maria told her daughter repeatedly.

"Aunty Maria, you never abused kids... did you?" Kelsi asked, frightened.

"no, no honey." Maria sighed, knowing they needed to know the truth. "Well kids, I think you should know the truth, you see..." Maria said.

But what she told the teens next would shock everyone to their core and change everything Gabriella knew in about her so-called-dad...
