Susan screamed in frustration as she smashed a nearby panel on the wall. She knew they were right, but she was just so blinded by rage and trying desperately to save Mo that she probably was running right into a trap.
Peggy took Susan in her arms, shushing and consoling her, "It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be okay. We'll save him, Susan.", with Steve watching them with pain and angst in his eyes, knowing how very important Mo is to their daughter, and glanced at Doc, "There has to be something we can do.".
Doc thought furiously, "Motherships usually have a command center, a nerve center, and plenty of ammo...Wait, ammo...a bomb...If we find the nerve center of the ship, I can rig up a bomb, and then this alien would have no choice to attack but only saving himself if barely...".
Steve replied, "But that means we'd have to scramble to escape as well...We need to find Mo for Susan's sake...", and Doc sighed, "We cannot afford to split up again...I will fix the radar to track the nerve center while we look for Mo...I can't imagine how he's feeling right now.", before shutting up when he heard Susan's sobs again.
"We've got to hurry... I don't know if this alien is true about taking the Quantonium from Mo already or just torturing him to get the rest of us in his trap.", Steve cursed. "That might be the case... it's what I'd probably do in that position.", Peggy said.
Susan looked up at Peggy, "Mum, please don't think like that...", as she kept hugging Peggy, walking, with Steve picking up Doc to rest on his shoulder, and Peggy sighed, "I know, I know...".
They soon heard sounds of thudding and voices, and with a nod, Steve put down Doc as he and his family shrunk down, and sneaked around the corner to look, and saw thousands of copies of one alien with tentacles and purple skin and multiple eyes, armed with guns and clothed up.
Steve snorted, "Well, looks like the alien went to work already on the invasion.", and Susan gave a sob, "Look!", pointing with a shaking hand, and the group looked in her direction to see two clone aliens pushing and pulling a cart with a laying Mo who is now sickly pale and so small, down to 5'9".
"Shit...", Peggy cursed under her breath. "Susan... I kno-". Too late. Susan was just seeing red and charged right into the clones that were carrying Mo away. She quickly dealt with the two of them as she got next to Mo. "Mo! Please... please be still alive!", she sobbed.
Mo was completely exhausted, pain in every spot of his body, and he barely was able to understand sounds, feeling so sick to his stomach, and his mind in turmoil, darkness around him until he felt warmth when he heard a very familiar voice, and followed it, seeing light, and weakly opened his eyes to see the sobbing and crying Susan, and he rasped, "S-Susan.".
"Just hold on, Mo...", Susan cried. "We'll get it back to you... you'll live... I swear...".
Mo gave a small smile as he tried to keep what little strength he had left before the cocking of many blasters could be heard nearby. Susan turned to see quite the formation of cloned troops aiming at her. Susan took a deep breath as she leaned over to kiss Mo... and then charged right into the group.
Susan shouted as she went berserk on the group, kicking and hitting as Peggy, and Doc went in to help some more, with Steve helping and picking up Mo.
"Keep us covered!", Steve called out as the others nodded and continued tearing through the lines of clones that tried to resist. Peggy and Susan took several shots but whatever the blasters were calibrated to, it certainly wasn't very effective to penetrating their skin and causing any sort of damage. Peggy was getting some flashbacks to all the weapons the Third Re-ich tried sending her and Steve's way during the war and how ineffective it had been.
"Please tell me there's a way we can fix Mo, Doc! He won't last like this!", Susan shouted over all the blaster bolts as Doc kept his head down since he'd probably easily be killed by a shot.
"Just give me a moment, I'm trying to track the Quantonium... I think if we get Mo back to it, he might recover!", Doc replied back.
Steve covered Mo from the stray blaster shots as he shouted, "Peggy, do your thing!", and Peggy grinned, "Read my mind!", before turning on her Human Torch fire, and narrowed her eyes.
"See if you can take my Hades fire!", Peggy roared as Steve, Susan and Doc ducked down behind the cart, with Mo in Steve's arms, and Peggy then went all 360 degrees with her fire, killing every clone near and far, melting down the copier machines, and burned all blaster guns into explosions, and this lasted for 30 seconds straight before Peggy dimmed down, panting heavily, glad that she saw the animated Hercules movie with her daughter and son on a mother-child day.
"Yikes...", Doc admitted as he saw the sight. "I almost feel bad for the Wehrmacht if that's what they had to deal with...".
"Eh, she never got too much of a chance since we mostly were fighting in towns or forests; didn't want to burn everything down even when we were in Germany.", Steve explained. "Here though... who cares?".
"Exactly... that should piss someone off.", Peggy smirked as she was just hoping to see the look on that alien captain's face.
Susan leaned down to Mo, rubbing his hair, checking him, "He's getting cold!", with horror and fear clenching her heart, tears filling her eyes. Doc replied, "Aha, got it!", taking it off, "Follow the map! I will stay here and rig up the bomb!", giving the radar to Peggy who is back to normal, and then scrambled on to the nerve center up high above the room.
"Just hang on, Mo... just hang on.", Susan whispered as she held Mo tightly but gentle enough to not harm him as the trio moved through the halls. "I hope the others can reach Doc... we need to be able to get out of here quick, knowing Doc's speed.", Steve said.
Peggy nodded, "Good thing that we're switching to giant form. I'd never take our Quantonium for granted.", with a huff, and Steve replied, "Yep. Are we getting closer, Peggy?".
Peggy looked at the radar, "Close, but I can't tell if it's up or down.", and being mates with Mo, Susan can feel the Quantonium that belongs to him, replied, "Up. We need to get higher.".
Steve nodded, "You got it, Sue-P!", and they turned up the speed, heading up stairs and down hallways, and Peggy shouted, "Yes, we're almost there! Take this turn, and more stairs, and then bam, we're there!", leading the way into the turn, and ran up spans of the stairs, and found themselves in the command center when they heard the computer announce, "Self-detonation in five minutes. Repeat, five minutes.".
"Uh, was that Doc...?", Steve asked as Peggy and Susan shook their heads. No way Doc could've pulled that sort of thing off which meant only one reason. The captain was planning to abandon ship.
In other places, with Link reuniting with Bob as he was aimlessly wandering though, with Tara widening her eyes in horror as she clenched her baby in the sling, with Bucky on one of her shoulders as she is in giant form, with Storm and Shadowcat on her heels and hovering besides her.
Up ahead of them is Wolverine and Beast, and Beast spoke, "I believe we better move posthaste!", and Wolverine spoke, "I understood that for once, and I agree with ya, bub! Come on, let's go!".
Bucky's walkie talkie buzzed, and Bucky pulled it out, "Yeah?", and Doc's voice shouted, "That wasn't me! I think the alien did it! And I can't get out of the nerve center room, he closed all the main doors!".
Tara gasped in horror, "No, Doc!", and Doc replied, "Five minutes is too short and the ship is too big...You better get out of here, all of you...I'm sorry I couldn't get to see your baby, Tara...I know she would be a wonderful girl...And tell Lacey that I love her. Tell her that I saved the world for her. Thanks for everything, my friends...Dr. Richard Lebre aka Dr. Cockroach, signing off.".
Bucky shouted, "Doc!", but nothing responded, and looked down at the X-Men, "Do you know where the nerve center room is?!".
Most of them shook their heads, but Beast replied, "I believe I have an idea where the nerve center room is. Gallaxhar used me to build terrible weapons and all. I was even behind the updating on the robot probes...".
Tara narrowed her eyes, "My Quantonium giant power will destroy one of the doors!", and Bucky nodded, "Link and Bob, you follow Wolverine and the others while Beast leads me and Tara.".
"Are you sure? You might not have much-", Link tried to argue. "No time to debate! Move!", Bucky ordered as Link nodded and his group began to move fast away from the others.
Tara picked up Beast to rest on her other shoulder, and asked, "Which way?", and Beast pointed, "Left.", and Tara headed left.
Bucky growled softly to himself, "I hope the others got Mo by now.", and in the command center room, the trio, with Susan cradling Mo in her hand, looked around, and Steve pointed with a hand, "Look, there's the Quantonium!", seeing a glowing green orb held by a statue.
"I wouldn't move if I were you.", the alien's voice echoed as the group froze as he came into view. "Computer, pause self-destruct.", smiling devilishly as his tentacles quivered around him. "Self-destruct paused.", the computer informed.
Susan growled angrily as Peggy grabbed her arm with Susan shouting, "It was you taking the Quantonium from my mate! Because of you, he's dying! Why are you doing this?!", before feeling Mo shiver, and Susan looked down, murmuring with tears in her eyes, "Mo, hold on...", lending an ear to listen yet thinking furiously on how to get to the Quantonium.
"Why?", The alien rolled his eyes. "They always ask that... they always ask that.", he pinched the bridge of his nose. "Quantonium is an insanely powerful element, and extremely rare too. With it, I can easily create a vast army of clones as you clearly saw that I could use for total conquest of the universe... rather than simply destroying planets... You... hairless apes, stole what was rightfully mine!".
Steve glared at him, "Mo never stole it. The first Quantonium piece came to his island in the first place, infusing with the whole land and people on it! And you're a piece of fucking shit for taking it from my future son-in-law and it's killing him in front of my daughter!", cursing angrily.
Peggy and Susan were slightly surprised as he had done it again, but hey, they couldn't blame him for that, and behind Steve's back, he gave a signal to Peggy, realizing that the alien might have seen Peggy's power move, but not her flying ability.
"I was wondering how that happened... the one that was carrying child... she stole the meteor I was tracking... that's why I grabbed her first. But the rest of you...", Gallaxhar spoke thoughtfully before scowling.
Steve chuckled, willing to at least keep Gallaxhar distracted, "We got ours from a different source, not even of this universe but a parallel one.".
"Ah... of course, I should've guessed. It was really bothering me how so much Quantonium go unaccounted for...", Gallaxhar spat.
Peggy whispered to Susan, "Give him to me. Trust me.", into her ear, and she exhaled, realizing that her mum has a plan, and without looking, she carefully and gently passed Mo into Peggy's hand in a slip-move when her dad is distracting Gallaxhar.
Steve replied with a smirk, "No wonder why Quantonium, and all its cousins spread the news about you. They hate you.". Gallaxhar snarled, going into a rant, "Quantonium is not sentient, it's absolute pure power, and I am destined to hold it all!".
As Gallaxhar ranted, Peggy ran, turning on her fire power, and flew faster than a sonic boom, shooting off a flare from her hand, breaking the glass on the orb like crackling ice, and she whispered to Mo, "Think about Susan. Think of raising a family with her. You can do it, son. You can't leave us, Mo.", dropping him from her other hand gently yet quickly into the orb through the glass like a tank of water as she hovered above the glass orb, hearing Gallaxhar's shout of horror and shock before commanding the ship to speed up the self-destruction.
At the same time, Steve and Susan made their move onto Gallaxhar while he was still keeping his brief attention on Susan and Mo. If they could nab him, they might be able to stop the self-destruct if he's enough of a coward to save his own skin.
Gallaxhar knew of Steve and Susan's giant sizes, and he is not going to end up like a flattened blob if he can help it as he dodged and ran here and there, but realized that Steve and Susan were too focused on him as he was too far away from his escape pod, and took out his blaster gun, not to shoot at them, but at himself, "At least you're going to die like the pitiful fools you are!", before shooting at his brain, killing himself off.
Steve and Susan were stunned by just how Gallaxhar just... ended his own life like that. Of course, they didn't have much time to react to that as their attention was back on Peggy and Mo. "Mo!", Susan cried out as she ran towards his direction.
Peggy hovered over, landing besides Susan, "It's sure taking a bit of time. He's in there...I hope I made it in time...He was almost so cold...", and Susan sobbed, collapsing against Peggy, looking up at the glass orb that's of the Quantonium, and Steve soon joined them, praying, seeing the shadow of Mo.
Inside the orb, Mo is on the brink of death, darkness and silence as he was walking somewhere, feeling like he's in search of something, feeling no pain at all yet tired for some reason, wanting to do something, something he is trying to remember...
He then saw a warm sensation behind him, and he looked back, hearing the familiar sounds of his home, Skull Island, and he can see the village, his home village! He started to turn around to walk forward when he heard another sound, a voice echoing around him.
"Think about Susan. Think about raising a family with her. You can do it, son. You can't leave us, Mo.". Mo was surprised to hear the voice, and he was confused, trying to figure out what it was talking about...Who is Susan?
Suddenly, pictures around him filled the air with color and sound, so much color, and then he saw her in them...Susan...Her incredible shy yet bold attitude. Stubborn to fight on even when the odds are against her...Her beautiful bright blue eyes and rich brown hair...He remembered her...
He saw more pictures of their future together...Married, Susan pregnant, two blurry-faced kids toothily smiling at him. Susan holding a baby...Growing old together...Having fun and joy with all the family...Steve, Peggy, Henry, Tara, Bucky, Link, Bob, Doc, Lacey, Bea, Monger, with Tara's daughter playing with his children.
No, he can't leave them...He can't leave Susan...He asked for Steve's blessing last week for god's sake! He can't die! He needs to go back! He has to go back! He needs to live! He wants to live! He needs his Quantonium back! The Quantonium is his lifelong friend!
He then felt something happening, and he then knew it... He's going back home to Susan's arms...King Kong is back.
Susan continued to sob for a few more moments before the orb suddenly started to vibrate as the group suddenly took a few steps back before it shattered and revealing Mo once more, looking like his old self, rich with life and at the peak of health for any human.
"Mo!", Susan quickly ran to hug him as he groaned from the sheer force that Susan delivered. "Hey, easy... easy...", Mo groaned. "Still a little weak at the moment...".
Susan pulled back to look at him, "Sorry, sorry! My god, thank God you're alive!", tears falling in joy as she kissed all over Mo's cheek, and Mo smiled warmly, "It's okay...Thank your mum...She was the one who brought me back.", looking over at Peggy gratefully who was crying happily as Steve hugged her with an arm.
Suddenly, the intercom buzzed, "1 minute and 30 seconds on the self-destruction.", and Peggy gasped, turned on giant form and flamed on, shooting at the glass to melt it and crack it down, and Susan shouted, "Wait, what about Doc?! We left him in the nerve center room!".
"Let's pray the others got him already, and is escaping right now!", Steve responded. Meanwhile, near one of the main doors, Doc is sitting against the side wall, devastated as he's looking at a reel slip of him and Lacey that they took a week ago in one of those picture consoles places in the mall...Funny faces, bright smiles, a kiss on the lips, and a tickle fight.
