Susan smiled, "I think I'll be full-term next month, so they might stop growing by then.", rubbing her baby bump, and Beast nodded, "I think I can help with that. Let's take you to the aid station for some sonogram pictures and some heart listen-ins.".
"Okay, Beast. Be back later for dinner.", Susan smiled at Tara, and walked along with Beast, and to Beast's relief sometime later, the twins are clearly bigger, stronger, and healthier, and yep, Susan was right about the genders, approving of the names warmly.
And so, days and weeks came and went in Libra Haven, with Ciro and Gizmo learning so much from their new friends and relatives, and soon, it was February already, and like Susan suspected, she became full-term, and got fitted for her wedding dress.
With only Libra Haven residents and with Wendy and Carl as visitors, a small wedding was easy to set up, and so on February 25, the wedding of Susan and Mo commenced on Libra Haven, unknowing that later after the wedding ceremony in one of the open spaces, on the way to the reception party in one of the empty hangers, they will have new additions to the family.
Mo took a deep breath, trying to fix his tuxedo in the mirror, muttering, "Should have gone with the tie.", and a chuckle sounded out, "Need help, Mo?". He looked back to see Bucky walking into the dressing room of the tent.
"Pretty much... never was one for most of these clothes.", Mo chuckled as Bucky started to help him out.
"Easier for me, having to spend quite a lot of time in dress uniforms during the war, not too much different from today's suits. And of course, it's way more than much of what you had back on the island.", Bucky said.
"Isn't that the truth? You're not upset that Susan and I kinda rushed things in front of you and Tara, are you? I mean, Susan wanted to at least do it before the twins came.", Mo confessed guiltily.
Bucky shook his head, "No, not really, and besides, Tara wanted Reva to be flower girl. And besides, we have planned for late spring/early summer for our wedding. Somewhere around May or June. And I don't blame my niece for doing this early...And besides, didn't you always say that you dreamed of seeing her pregnant in a wedding dress, right?".
Mo sheepishly smiled, "You have a point there, Bucky...And I see Tara's point about Reva being flower girl...She is sure going to be adorable in your wedding, indeed. Now, it's Henry's time to shine...After all, Susan never got a chance to be a flower girl for Steve and Peggy, and Henry was born long after their wedding, so Henry has a chance now to be helpful for me and Susan in being a ringbearer.".
Bucky smiled, "Thanks. And yeah, it makes sense for Henry to be part of the ceremony in a way since Henry is Susan's little brother. So, are you excited to see your mate all beautified up and all?".
Mo nodded, "More than you could imagine...Tara told me that it's her greatest work so far, and she's so proud of it. Why, Tara asked to take pictures of the dress with Susan and without her, so she could show it around to the fashion world, and she hopes she can get more commissions and requests so she can get paid.".
Bucky laughed, "Tara is quite passionate about her designer fashion love. I haven't seen it, but I know Tara, and if she says it's her greatest work, it probably is.", with a smile, before nodding in satisfaction, "There! Take a look at yourself.".
Mo took a deep breath as he looked over himself before nodding, "Looks good. I suppose Susan won't care too much about the look as long as at least I'm presentable enough.", with a smile. "Nah, it's Tara you got to worry about not getting the suit perfect.", Bucky joked.
Mo snorted, "True. Well, let's get out of here, best man.", with a grin at Bucky, and Bucky nodded, and they headed out of the men's tent, heading to the open space where there are open-sided chairs lined up with most of everybody sitting in them, with an awning carpet down the aisle, wild flowers everywhere, with a magnificent stone arch that Steve had constructed up an hour ago, and Monger is standing on a high podium, happy to be the officiant for Mo and Susan.
Mo and Bucky took their positions, and Monger nodded to Gizmo who took up the drums, the beat of the wedding march soon echoed through the air, glad to have an ear for music when he discovered the world of drums.
Henry soon walked up from a shaded, dark tent near the entrance of the space, carrying a pillow that contained Susan's ring, and Mo's ring, all spiffed up and cute-handsome in his suit, smiling proudly as Peggy took pictures, and went to stand besides Bucky who nodded at him warmly.
Tara came next, wearing a simple yet wonderful bridesmaid dress of blue, smiling at Bucky, and stood on the other side of the stone arch altar, and the tone of the wedding march song changed slightly, and then Steve and Carl came, on the sides of Susan.
Mo's breath escaped as he gave a near-soundless gasp, seeing a beautiful angel in the sunlight. Susan is wearing a Lily Silk long gown, with soft stretch silk straps, in Ivory, with her hair curled down, wearing a crown of flowers, and the gown is accentuated so perfectly with her baby bump, with a soft silk sash above the baby bump, showing it off to the world...
At least things shouldn't go wrong with this since he didn't see her before the wedding. Considering what Tara had said, and she worried that her growth and imprisonment with the Quantonium was because she saw Derek before the ceremony that morning, Mo felt a bit superstitious as well, but thankfully that wouldn't be the case.
He quickly steeled himself as he waited for her to walk up towards him, going a bit slow since she was carrying for two others as well there.
Peggy and a few others took pictures happily as Steve and Carl escorted Susan down the aisle, and kissed her on both cheeks, and Mo heard her whisper, "I love you, Daddy and Papa.".
Steve and Carl tearfully smiled, and went to sit with their significant others, as Susan turned to Mo, taking Mo's hands, and Mo whispered, "You are extremely beautiful, Susan, like this with our children...How are they feeling?".
Susan smiled warmly, "They are happy yet a bit quiet. I think they want us to enjoy this moment.", and Mo smiled softly, nodding slightly, and glanced at Monger who smiled proudly and took a deep breath.
"Today, we are here to witness a blissful couple to be married under the sun, Susan Carter-Rogers and Mo. They have endured adventures that most people wouldn't dream of, and in turn, they have found each other, and with two gifts from the heavens, they are a family.", Monger announced.
Monger then gave a soft glare, scanning around, "Does anybody object to this man and woman getting married?", and a few moments passed, and no objections came. Monger then smiled, and nodded, "Now, the bride and groom has vetoed the traditional vows, and decided to make their short, sweet vows. The groom, please share your vow.".
Mo chuckled at the thought for a moment before he nodded and looked to Susan, "Susan... you're the most beautiful woman that I have ever seen in my life, and while certainly different from what I had always expected growing up, I wouldn't change anything that led me to you and led us to this moment with you and our soon to be children. I love you so much."
Susan briefly teared up with a little sob of joy, and Mo smiled, gently wiping her tears away, not blaming her for her hormones right there, and Susan smiled happily as Mo gently rubbed her baby bump for a moment before holding her hands again.
Susan then heard Monger's voice, "Now, the bride, please share your vow.", and Susan took a deep breath, and spoke lovingly yet clearly, "Mo, you're the most special man that I have ever seen in my life, and I certainly didn't expect you to be like a firework off the Fourth of July that keeps surprising me at every corner yet I wouldn't change anything, all the way to this moment with you and our beautiful miracles. I love you very much.".
Sniffles, sobs, and blabbering fits of joy was barely heard in the audience, and Monger even shed a tear before he cleared his throat, "Now, if young Henry would step forward.", and Bucky smiled, nodding, helping Henry along, and the couple picked up their rings, putting them on each other as Henry then was told by Bucky to go join Steve and Peggy who's holding Reva.
Henry happily skipped over to his parents, sitting on Steve's lap, while Monger then spoke, "Mo, do you swear to take Susan Carter-Rogers to be your wife, to be with her through the ups and downs of life, through the hills of growing old together, to support her with all your soul and heart, to take care of her to the end of your days, as long as you live?".
Mo smiled warmly at Susan, his eyes glistening of love, "I do.", and Monger then repeated as he asked, "Susan, do you swear to take Mo to be your husband, to be with him through the ups and downs of life, through the hills of growing old together, to support him with all your soul and heart, to take care of him to the end of your days, as long as you live?".
Susan smiled happily, her eyes tearing up in love, "I do.", and Monger then announced, "Then under the sun, in the state of California, and vested in me, I happily announce you two as husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.".
Mo leaned forward to take Susan in his arms before he kissed her deep on the lips. Her arms wrapped around him tight as she melted into the kiss as they stayed there for a few moments before breaking off.
"I wanted to do that the moment I saw you in that dress.", Mo whispered to her.
Susan blushed, smiling happily, whispering, "Always the best kisses with you.", and Mo laughed warmly as Monger announced, "I give you Mr. Mo and Mrs. Susan Carter-Rogers!", and Mo kissed her again as the audience cheered in bounds of applause and whistles.
Susan smiled as she felt kicks, the twins celebrating as well, though she has to admit that she's getting a bit sore, but she ignored the slight pains, reveling in the joyful atmosphere, with Mo holding her warmly as they walked down the aisle to everyone's cheers as they threw petals everywhere.
Monger gave a loud whistle, and a large carriage on earth skids came forward, with Wolverine at the reins of a large pair of Clydesdales. Wolverine came down, bowing with a smile, "Your carriage, sir and ma'am.".
"Take your wife around for a couple of circuits. We will be fixing up the reception party in one of the empty hangars, number 2. After all, it's a beautiful day.", Monger replied, and Mo smiled, thanking Monger, "Thanks, General. Care for a ride, Mrs. Carter-Rogers?", glancing at Susan.
Susan nodded with a wide smile, "Sounds perfect, Mr. Carter-Rogers.", and Mo helped her climb in, and Mo then got in next to her, and clicked the reins, and the Clydesdales nickered, walking on, with everybody waving and cheering.
Susan and Mo know that the others got their golf carts and all, so they'll be fine while the newlyweds will take up the whole 5 acres clockwise in a couple of circuits. Susan leaned on Mo with a content sigh, "We're finally married...".
"Doesn't feel too much different though, does it?", Mo chuckled as Susan gave a small nod, "Yeah, I suppose you are right... after all the time we've shared together, sleeping with each other every night... we've got twins who will be here in a week or so...".
Mo smiled as he expertly held the reins in one hand, using his gorilla strength while he gently rubbed her baby bump with his other hand, "That's a major difference in our life...I'm sorry I couldn't take you out to a honeymoon with the twins soon due to be born...".
Susan smiled reassuringly, "Mo, we have all the time in the world to have a honeymoon...I'm just happy to be a wife and a mother-to-be.", kissing his cheek. Mo nodded, "Fair enough, my love...", smiling as he relaxed with his new wife, enjoying the fresh air as he directed the Clydesdales carefully.
After walking the first whole circuit, the Clydesdales felt comfortable, remembering the route, and Mo smiled, tying the reins to the board securely as he turned his attention to Susan who has been dozing on and off, and admiring her, he leaned in to kiss her passionately.
Susan moaned as she took in the kiss, taking his hair in her hands as Mo caressed her through and through, ignoring the increasing pains of her sore back and hips as she was focused on the pleasure through her body.
Mo kissed her all over her face and neck, caressing her, trying to duck his hand under her dress, and Susan moaned happily, unknowing that the first of the water bags broke, and a moment later, her moans of pleasure turned into a shout of pain, her first contraction striking her immediately as she clenched herself against Mo.
"Sorry, did I get too rough there?", Mo asked as Susan quickly shook her head. "No... not that wasn't... no, no... it's too soon...", she muttered.
Mo frowned in confusion before widening his eyes to realize what she meant, "Susan, are you in labor?", and Susan nodded, "YES!", panting as pain went through her, holding into her baby bump that has gone hard and rigid.
Mo spoke, "Breathe, Susan, breathe. Hold on, love.", wildly unwrapping the reins from the board, and clicked them against the Clydesdales, stirring them into a quick canter, muttering, "Hanger 2. Hanger 2.", looking back at Susan, "Tell me if you want me to stop, okay?", hating the fact that they are far away from the main hangers and all, five acres away...
"Just get us there, fast... please...", Susan said as Mo quickly stopped the Clydesdales and got out. "Just hold steady, we'll be there quicker this way.", Mo helped her out before he grew in height; they would make much better time if he was at his largest height and holding her in his hand on the way back.
Mo scooped Susan carefully against his chest as Susan shouted out in pain again, her body going through a contraction, clenching and nearly half-curling over, and Mo went into a quick walk, not wanting to jolt Susan into more pain, and soon, under 10 minutes, he made it to Hanger 2, seeing everybody looking out in confusion and concern before Mo shouted, "We need help! Susan's in labor!", as he slowly shrunk down, holding Susan in his arms, using his gorilla strength.
Susan screamed out in pain as another contraction came, and Beast, along with Peggy, ran over to help, "Let's get her to the back! There's a room!", and Mo nodded as he sprinted into the hanger, with everybody else giving encouragement and support, "You can do it, Susan! You got this, girl! Remember to breathe! Congratulations! Take it easy!".
Peggy and Beast led him into the backroom, seeing that it was an old office with a cot on the side, and he laid Susan on the cot, with Beast heading out of the office to grab hot water and towels from the party tables, with Peggy kneeling besides her, holding her hand, "It's okay, sweetheart, breathe.", as Mo moved her gown up over her bump, removing her underwear.
This isn't what he was thinking when he was planning to ravish her in their bedroom, taking off her gown and all, but still, what a surprise...Did the twins decide to be their literal wedding gifts today?
"It'll be alright, Susan, I promise.", Peggy tried to assure her. "It'll hurt, I won't lie, but you just got to hold through... you've taken worse after all.". Susan nodded at that as she did take a laser head on and survived that, childbirth should be a little easier.
Mo took a close look at Susan down there, and replied, "You're almost half dilated, Susan.", and Susan groaned lightly as she took deep breaths, crying out in pain at another contraction, "Less painful than the one time from the blast, but the pain's sharper and more wholesome...".
Peggy nodded, "I know, I know, sweetheart. Breathe. Soon, you will have two wiggling, breathing babies, Lily and Nathan. It won't be long, I promise.". Beast returned with the bowls of hot water and towels, "Okay, I'm back. How along is she?".
Mo replied, "About half dilated.", and Beast nodded, "Not too long, then. Mo, see if you can alleviate her back pain. The babies are putting pressure on her lower back and hips, and she needs to be mostly relaxed. I doubt the pain pills would work at this point, and I didn't even bring my bag.".
Mo nodded and went around Susan, kissing her temple, "You're doing so good, love. Breathe and relax. You need all the energy you can get.", rubbing her back with his hands.
