Yang + Pyrrha might just be my favorite friend pairing in the show. I 3 them!

Thank you to everyone who's following and reviewing :) Enjoy!

"But what do you think it means?"

She held her phone out in Pyrrha's direction only for the redhead to ignore her once again. The model was still engrossed in choosing her outfit for the evening, which she was supposed to be helping with if she hadn't been in the middle of her own crisis.

"I'm sure it's nothing bad," was the only response she received.

"She said she needed to talk. About something really important. In what universe is that not a bad thing?"

Pyrrha just hmm'd while she continued to freak out about the text message she'd received from Blake just a few minutes ago.

It had been an ordinary day before then - they'd been hanging out at Pyrrha's apartment, talking about their lives, gushing about Blake (admittedly, one sidedly), and gushing about Jaune (again, pretty one-sided). Then the text had arrived on her cell phone - instantly putting a damper on her entire afternoon.

It was completely out of the blue. And when she'd sent a joke reply back to the writer...well, the response was a little less carefree than she would have liked for it to be.

It was as if Blake was...nervous...about telling this to her.

But what could the girl possibly have to be nervous about? As far as their relationship went, she was the one who was usually nervous - what with her crazy ex...and the paparazzi...and complete strangers approaching them on the street.

She couldn't think of a single thing that Blake should hesitate in telling her. Except for...

"What if she cheated on me?"

The thought threatened to break her heart right then and there - the idea of her girlfriend being with someone else one of the worst feelings imaginable.

Now that she thought about it, they'd never officially discussed being exclusive...but she'd just kind of figured…

Her train of thought was interrupted by an even worse thought.

"What if she wants to break up with me?"

WIth a loud groan, she threw her phone on top of Pyrrha's bed and ran both hands through her hair - the scenarios were getting worse and worse the longer she stared at the message on the screen.

"I bet she cheated on me and now wants to break up. This is just the worst news ever…" she wailed as she plopped down into a chair in Pyrrha's room, feeling too depressed to stand any longer.

God, this was horrible to think about...

"Yang, the two of you love each other more than anything. It's actually rather sickening, sometimes, seeing the two of you together. So I highly doubt she cheated on you or wants to break up with you," Pyrrha commented calmly, holding two shirts up in front of the tall mirror before shaking her head and taking both back into the enormous closet.

"Then what could it be?"

She wouldn't want to say that she sounded pitiful...but she sounded extremely pitiful right now. Pyrrha's words made her feel a little better...being true that they did love each other...but the idea of a secret having somehow rooted itself in their relationship worried her.

"I don't know...maybe she has an evil twin? Or six toes?" the model's voice drifted out from inside the closet.

The suggestions made her laugh - likely their intended effect.

"Oh, believe me, I would know by now if she had six toes. And I can say with absolute certainty that every part of her body is perfect."

"Jeez, leave a little to the imagination, Yang," Pyrrha said while emerging with two more outfits in hand - the clothes immediately vetoed and taken back inside.

"Imagination? What do you need to imagine Blake's body for?" she replied cheekily.

Her playful energy was making a rapid reappearance, knowing that she'd just trapped her friend in a corner.

"I meant…"

"Aww, did I just ruin Blake's lack of a sixth toe for you? Did you enjoy imagining that? Do you have a foot fetish, Pyrrha?" she teased, knowing that Pyrrha's face must be beet red by now.

"What? I do not -"

"Oh! That's why you're always complimenting my shoes!" she exclaimed with a gasp, before dodging the shoe that came flying out of the closet towards her.

She watched the item clatters harmlessly to the ground behind her before turning back towards the closet in fake incredulity.

"Hey! Don't throw stilettos - that could've killed me!"

"Why do you think I'm trying to take your girlfriend?" Pyrrha demanded, now standing in the closet doorway with one hand on her hip - attempting to appear forceful but hardly succeeding.

"Because why wouldn't you be? She's amazing!" she answered with a big grin.

After opening and closing her mouth several times, the redhead finally shook her head and walked back into the closet.

"...I feel like there might be no right answer here."

Laughing, she turned her attention back to helping Pyrrha pick out an outfit for dinner. The least she could do was send her best friend off to meet Jaune like a proud momma bird watching its baby finally learn how to fly.

Then she could spend the rest of her afternoon worrying about Blake.

"Hey, Yang."

"Blake," she replied with a smile, leaning in and giving the writer a quick kiss on the cheek before backing away.

"Come on in."

The greeting was...more lukewarm than usual...as Blake left the door open and made her way back into the apartment, waiting for Yang to follow her.

Reluctantly, she did - quietly closing the front door and flipping the deadbolt into place before trailing the girl to the sofa. Blake was already seated and nodded her head towards an empty seat.

Apparently, they were going to do this right now...not even pretending that they had other things to talk about.

Blake waited for her to sit down before she spoke again, but not after first clearing her throat.

"So...do you remember that I said I needed to talk to you about something?"

The writer seemed nervous...the signs so subtle, but definitely there - the girl's fingertips tapping lightly against one thigh, slightly more rigid posture, pupils larger than normal.

Blake being nervous only made her exponentially more terrified.

They were turned towards each other on the sofa, but an uncomfortable distance apart. At least, it felt uncomfortable because she was used to sitting practically on top of the girl.

She struggled to keep her knee from bouncing up and down uncontrollably - jittery energy forcing its way out in any way possible.

"Oh, yeah, that?" she tried to say nonchalantly as her left knee doing a short jig.

The lie earned her a surprised look from the girl - who always seemed to see through her lies, no matter how small.

Sighing, she corrected her demeanor.

"Yeah...I kinda haven't stopped wondering what it could be."

Nodding, Blake bit her lip and leaned backwards slightly, before leaning forward again - the girl's hands clasping and unclasping in her lap. Blake looked so apprehensive...she found herself wanting nothing more than to reach out and hold the girl's hand, or give her a hug, something...but there was nothing she felt comfortable doing at this moment...not when she didn't know what Blake wanted to tell her.

So she stayed frozen in her place while waiting for the writer to continue.

"I've kind of been...hiding something from you. And I've felt so terrible about it this entire time. It's just been eating at me...and everyday it seems to get worse. So I decided that I just need to be truthful and accept your judgement."

At least those words seemed to rule out the breaking up situation, but now firmly ruled in the idea that Blake had been cheating on her - for a long time, apparently.

She tried to swallow, but found her mouth to be too dry. Her heart was beating painfully at the thought - not even her worst nightmares were this bad. She didn't know what she was going to do...what she would say...she'd never once imagined that Blake could hurt her in that way...

"You see," Blake began, looking more uncomfortable by the second. "I kind of...have a...pen name."

"...I'm sorry - what?"

She wasn't sure what kind of horrible slang 'pen name' could be, but she was now more confused than anything else.

"A pen name - like what authors use when they're writing books they don't want attached to their real names?" Blake explained to her.

"Ohhhh...I see," she responded, before again looking to the writer in confusion. "Wait - why is that such a big secret?"

Fiddling with her fingers in her lap, the girl refused to meet her gaze.

"Well, you see...I've written several...uh - romantic novels...under my pen name."

Blake still refused to make eye contact, but she finally understood exactly what the writer was trying to tell her.

Staring at the blushing girl in shock, she tried really, really hard not to do it...but she just couldn't help it...

She burst out laughing.

"That's it? That's the big secret?" she asked, reaching over and pulling the surprised writer into a big hug while continuing to laugh to herself - feeling like a thousand pound weight had just been lifted from her chest.

A pen name. For romantic novels.

Blake squirmed out of her grasp, pulling away in order to finally look into her eyes.

"You're not upset?" the girl asked, now just as confused as Yang had been seconds ago.

"Of course not!" she replied, tears beginning to slip out of her eyes from laughing so hard. "You've told me now, haven't you? God, I thought you were going to break up with me or say that you were cheating on me!"

Now Blake just looked shocked.

"Cheating on you? Why would I be cheating on you?"

"I don't know!" she replied with a shrug and a grin. "But when you said you had something important to talk about, my mind instantly went to all these worst case scenarios."

"I'm sorry I made you worry...this was just a big deal for me…"

She pulled the girl in for another hug, making sure to hold the writer a little more firmly than usual, running one hand through feather soft raven locks.

This dreaded talk had turned out far better than she'd imagined...and hadn't involved any pain on her part, at all.

She didn't mind that Blake hadn't disclosed that information until now - its not as if that had ever come up in conversation.

That would be like if she'd done some sort of adult movie in the past...oh god, she could never imagine telling Blake about that...because then the girl would probably want to -

"Wait...do I get to read these books?" she asked, unwrapping her arms from her girlfriend in order to give her a pleading expression.

But Blake's smile immediately disappeared.

"Uh...no."

"Awww...come on, Blake! You have to let me read at least one!" she whined.

The writer leaned forward and gave her a quick peck on the lips before standing from the sofa, looking down at her with a loving smile.

"Never. But thank you for being so understanding."

She grinned as she stood to follow Blake into the kitchen - fully intent upon continuing her begging for the next few minutes while they made something together for dinner.

She wasn't very concerned about getting the information right now, knowing full well that she'd get the name out of Blake eventually.

She had ways of making her girlfriend talk.
