Trying to keep writing...but have several little distractions, and one huge one! But this chapter contains probably one of my favorite jokes ever, so enjoy!
After she'd given Yang her birthday present, they'd spent the rest of the day being alternatively lazy, then...not lazy...and then lazy again.
For the past week, she'd been so incredibly nervous about her gift - which had been loosely inspired by Pyrrha's offhand 'phone book' comment. Sure, she'd thought to herself, Yang wouldn't mind receiving some pages ripped out of a phone book...but what about a real book? And as she'd scoured the shelves of her favorite bookstores, she'd realized that it couldn't be just any book...any author...or any story.
It hadn't taken her very long to write - the words flowing easily as she recounted the highlights of their relationship thus far. Meeting in the restroom...the mud run...going to watch Yang on set...practicing lines in the privacy of one of their apartments...
It was much easier to retell than create from scratch as she usually did, but it took her far longer to perfect the story to where she was comfortable taking it to be professionally printed and bound.
But...she'd honestly never expected Yang to tear up in happiness.
That had been the most adorable reaction ever. Better than anything she could have ever imagined.
And it made gifts for years to come exceptionally easy. Well, not that writing a book was terribly easy, but at least she didn't have to spend a ton of time trying to think of the perfect gift. She planned on writing volume after volume - until they needed to dedicate one entire bookcase to house them all.
After being thanked...profusely...for the gift, they'd eventually been forced to leave the apartment for the only real plans they had today - the last hurrah party which was going to be at Coco's nightclub.
They'd decided to dress up for the event and Yang looked absolutely gorgeous...but when didn't the blonde look incredible? The girl could probably make sweatpants and a t-shirt look like runway material.
The actress was wearing a royal purple dress, the color going superbly with her matching eyes and waves of sunshine colored hair. Black heels added several inches to the girl's height, while a silver teardrop necklace inevitably drew her eyes from Yang's collar bone down towards…
Well, the necklace worked exactly as intended - which was a good and a bad thing when other people were going to be involved.
Wearing her own pair of black heels so as not to be completely dwarfed by her taller girlfriend, her black and white patterned dress fell just above her ankles while the small diamond necklace Yang had given her months ago finished off the outfit with a sparkling flare.
"Ready?" she asked while fastening a pair of silver earrings to her ears, turning to watch Yang run a brush through her hair one last time.
"We'll be fashionably late, right?" came her response, accompanied by a sly grin.
Rolling her eyes, she walked over and grabbed one of Yang's hands to lead them towards the front door.
"We'll be the last ones there," she assured the blonde, grabbing a small purse off the table by the front door and stuffing a pair of keys into it as they exited the apartment.
"Good!" Yang replied happily from behind her. "I want everyone to think we were doing...exactly what we were doing!"
Sighing in fake exasperation, she pulled her girlfriend into the elevator with her, rewarding the birthday girl with another long kiss on the ride downstairs.
And maybe a few more on the cab ride to the nightclub…
Honestly, it was a little unbearable just how easy it was to kiss Yang...anywhere and everywhere. Some days it tested her willpower far more than others...today being one of those days...
When they were let out in front of red velvet ropes, Yang was practically buzzing with energy - where it had suddenly appeared from, she had no idea, but the girl could really turn it on when needed.
Thankfully, part of their 'being lazy' portion of today had included a nice, long nap - something she'd sorely needed after getting practically no sleep last night. Although, even in the absence of sleep, she was usually able to feed off of Yang's infectious energy for a little while.
"Happy birthday, miss," one of the bouncers said with a polite nod as they approached the front door.
The other hulking man nodded in unison as he unclipped the rope blocking the exit to the club and gestured that they could go through.
"Thank you!" Yang replied happily, hopping through and wrapping one of the bouncers in a very unexpected hug before grabbing her hand and pulling her inside.
"Blake, I'm so excited!"
"I can see that," she said with a soft laugh as she was practically dragged through the front door.
The party was already well underway by this point - the music pounding loudly while guests either danced or stood around the periphery of the building chatting happily.
The entire inside of the building was decked out with decorations, which looked spectacular.
Pyrrha had volunteered to take care of the set up this evening, giving her the opportunity to spend the entire day with Yang. She'd felt a little guilty about making Pyrrha do it all by herself, but then the model had texted her a couple days ago and mentioned that Weiss also offered to help - although the singer had made it sound like she was only helping because she had no other plans this evening.
But by this point, both of them knew better than to believe that line.
She'd been grateful for the time to spend alone with Yang, and as they stepped into the club, she was immediately floored at what the two girls had accomplished in her absence.
The place looked great.
There were black and yellow streamers everywhere, but spaced perfectly so as not to appear too cluttered in any one location. A giant banner reading 'Happy Birthday, Yang!' was hanging across the entire room - attached to the second story railings on each side of the building. Behind the DJ booth, where Yang's favorite party DJ was already hard at work, was a giant projector screen playing a mash-up video of some of the best scenes across all of Yang's films. The lights flashing across the room were yellow and white, pulsing in every direction to create the frenetic energy clubs were famous for.
Off to the left, several of the oversized seats had been removed to make room for two long tables stacked high with a wide arrangement of finger foods. Last, but not least, sitting on its own table was a giant, five tiered birthday cake.
"Holy…"
Yang never got to finish that thought, as they were nearly blinded by a bright light the next second.
"Ladies and gentleman," came an unfamiliar voice over the loudspeaker as the volume of the music cut in half. "Your birthday girl has arrived!"
A loud cheer went through the crowd as everyone turned in their direction and spotted Yang, the blonde now sporting a gigantic smile.
"This is awesome!" the girl practically squealed, turning to blind her with that smile.
"You like it?" she asked as the spotlight turned off and the music returned full force - most of the guests going back to what they'd been doing, likely knowing they would get to say 'happy birthday' later on this evening.
"It's amazing! All my favorite people, good music, you...what more could I ever ask for?"
"Well, I couldn't have done this on my own," she replied modestly, having already spotted Pyrrha on one side of the room speaking with Jaune, while Weiss was…
"Come here," she ordered, taking Yang a few steps further into the room where she'd found Weiss standing rather uncomfortably by the bar.
Yang immediately saw who they were heading towards, letting out an adorable squeal of surprise as they approached the girl.
"Hey, Weiss, you made it!" the actress greeted the girl happily, the blue eyes initially filled with suspicion softening once they recognized who was speaking.
"I wouldn't have missed it," Weiss replied with a small smile, even though her posture suggested that the girl would have loved to be anywhere but here right now.
"You should be thanking her," she added, drawing a curious look her way.
"For...what?"
"She helped plan all this," she answered, waving her hand around at the room. "Pyrrha and I would have been miserable failures if not for Weiss' help."
"I'm sure you two would have been fine…" the singer mumbled quietly, looking briefly towards the floor in embarrassment.
But Yang was...thrilled.
"No - freaking - way!" the girl shouted, pulling Weiss into a humongous, bone crunching hug that lifted the smaller girl's feet right off the ground. "Weiss, you are the best! Thank you so much for helping!"
"It was really nothing," Weiss replied, taking a step away from Yang as soon as she'd been released.
"Please - Blake probably woulda been alright, but Pyrrha is so hopeless sometimes -"
"Who's hopeless sometimes?"
The three of them turned in surprise at the question, finding the aforementioned model and her blonde haired companion now standing beside them - the duo having just walked over to say hello.
But Yang merely laughed at her friend's timing, giving Pyrrha and Jaune hugs before answering honestly.
"You are!"
"Of course I am," the redhead replied with a roll of her emerald eyes before giving Weiss a genuine smile. "Weiss was really helpful though - I wouldn't have been able to set everything up so perfectly by myself."
The poor singer looked incredibly uncomfortable from all the compliments she was receiving in such a short span - especially the unwavering look of gratitude Yang was sending her way.
Thankfully, Pyrrha also seemed to notice this, waving Yang towards her while slowly backing away.
"Come on, Yang, some people have been looking for you. And Nora has refused to set your gift down, so I think you might want to see what it is and decide if we need to call animal control or not..."
"Yes!" Yang cheered with an arm pump. "I bet it's some snakes or something! Blake, you coming?"
When the blonde turned back towards her, she shook her head.
"You go on ahead and have fun - I'll be here."
Receiving a knowing wink in response, the blonde went bounding off with Pyrrha and Jaune, giving hugs to the people who stopped her along the way.
It wasn't as if she would have minded accompanying Yang, but she thought it was important for the girl to have an opportunity to enjoy the night without her constantly glued to her side.
Plus, she didn't want to leave Weiss standing here alone - the singer looked one step away from bolting out the front door.
"Is she always like this?" the girl asked curiously as the two of them watched Yang disappear into the crowd.
She had to laugh at that question before she could answer.
"Yeah, pretty much."
"Wow," Weiss responded, leaning against the counter of the bar for support as if the mere thought exhausted her. "I don't know how you manage that."
Mirroring the singer's position, although much more relaxed than the girl appeared to be, her eyes searched for flashes of blonde amongst the party guests - catching one every once in awhile that sent her heart into a little double step.
"Well...you don't try to manage her. You just let her be herself and enjoy the ride."
It would be impossible to change who Yang was...not that she would ever want to do that. What would be the point of dating someone she needed to manage or change? It was part of trusting in the person Yang was...that the blonde knew what she was doing and, at the end of the day, would always make the 'right' decision - whatever 'right' may be.
Her answer was followed by a few minutes of comfortable silence between them, Weiss pondering the reply deeply before finally speaking what was on her mind.
"I would have never imagined the two of you would be together," the singer admitted, appearing to be a little uncomfortable with the words.
But the uncomfortable expression only turned to confusion when she laughed again.
"Honestly...me neither. But now I couldn't imagine my life without her."
They were completely different people - different personalities, different backgrounds, different goals...but somehow their lives fit together seamlessly.
"I guess it's that whole 'opposites attract' thing," she added nonchalantly, not truly believing the words as she said them.
But to an outsider, it seemed like the age-old saying would make more sense than trying to explain how she really felt...trying to put into words the all encompassing belief that they'd somehow been destined to be. That somewhere, in some other universe, they'd been earmarked just for each other...
"If that's truly the case, then how would anyone else ever expect to meet their soulmate - by sheer chance?"
The question immediately jarred her from her thoughts and back to the moment at hand.
It was so uncharacteristic...and for Weiss to use the term 'soulmate'...but there was a good argument behind the singer's question...
How would she and Yang have ever met if not by chance? They were opposites, after all, so they hadn't exactly been in the same social circles. Even if they'd managed to end up at the same place at the same time, would they have seen each other? Would they have had the opportunity to speak to each other?
"Oh, uh, yeah...dumb luck, I guess," she stammered, not exactly an encouraging answer for those who hadn't yet been fortunate to have found true love.
Which was likely exactly what Weiss was thinking, the girl letting out the softest of disappointed sighs before turning back to scanning the crowd.
"Hey, but you know, I'm sure Yang probably knows tons of people who are your opposite!" she added quickly, not wanting the girl to sink too deeply into depression over what she'd just said.
"Blake!"
They both turned towards the sound of her name as it was shouted across the club.
"Blake! Look what Nora gave me for my birthday!"
Her eyes spotted Yang, the blonde rushing towards them excitedly, fellow guests making a path for the actress to slip easily through.
Her heart thumped heavily at the sight.
She loved when Yang was like this...filled to the brim with childlike wonder and energy. It was at times like these that the specks of gold in the girl's lilac eyes would begin sparkling like stars...giving her the opportunity to become lost amongst constellations that were solely her own.
As soon as Yang was close enough, the actress shoved a box in front of them, the lid bent backwards so they could see inside. At the same time, she and Weiss leaned over to look into the box and find out what the girl was positively giddy about.
And, inside the box, they found a small glass fishbowl - with a very plump, yellow and black spotted fish swimming inside.
Glancing quickly at Weiss, the confused expression on the singer's face told her that she wasn't the only one completely confused as to why this was so exciting.
"It's...a goldfish…" she commented slowly, watching the creature intently as it swam lazily in the bowl, being tossed slightly to and fro as the water still shook from the rapid trip across the dance floor.
"His name is Bang!" Yang informed her proudly, grinning as if this was just the greatest thing ever.
For her part, she was still just plain confused.
"Bang, the goldfish?"
As soon as she heard the words out loud, her cheeks flushed while Yang began giggling uncontrollably. Weiss also let out a short little laugh, which the singer tried unsuccessfully to pass off as a cough when Blake turned her way with a look of betrayal.
"Don't worry - I fell for it too!" the blonde told her cheerfully, leaning forward to give her a kiss on the cheek in consolation. "But isn't he cute? I thought we could put him on the desk in your office - then you can watch him all day!"
"That sounds like a great place for him," she replied with a smile. "You might want to put him somewhere safe for right now though - instead of sloshing him around like that."
"Right," Yang agreed, eyes narrowing as they searched for someplace to set the box. "Wouldn't want him to get whiplash…"
Suddenly dashing away from them, she watched as Yang set Bang down beside the birthday cake, giving her a thumbs up before racing back towards them.
"Oh, I know!" Yang shouted happily as she returned to them. "Let's do karaoke!"
The blonde turned expectantly to Weiss, the girl never missing a beat while fulfilling her role as life of the party.
"Will you duet with me?"
The request was clearly unexpected - the singer turning towards her with an expression of shock. But she merely shrugged her shoulders in response, unwilling to get Weiss out of this one.
"I don't know…" Weiss replied hesitantly, clearly unsure whether or not she actually wanted to go along with it.
But Yang wasn't going to be so easily dissuaded - this she knew very well by the determined look taking residency in lilac eyes.
"Please!" the blonde begged, sticking out her bottom lip slightly for a full force pouting effect. "Pleaseee? It's my birthday!"
The words made her giggle - having heard the same line at least twenty times over the course of the day as Yang tried and succeeded in getting whatever she wanted.
Good luck to Weiss saying 'no' to those pleading eyes...
"Well...ok...since it's your -"
Weiss didn't even have the opportunity to finish before Yang wrapped the girl in another hug - again lifting the diminutive singer off the ground before setting her down carefully and racing away.
"I'll see if Coco has some extra microphones!"
As the blonde tornado whirled away from them once again, she turned to Weiss with a smile.
"You know, I'm going to get a little jealous if she keeps hugging you like that," she teased - words causing Weiss' jaw to drop in surprise.
"O-oh! I'm sure she doesn't...she doesn't mean anything -"
Realizing she might have been a little too convincing, she quickly raised one hand to stop Weiss' stutters and gave the girl a reassuring smile.
"I'm just teasing, Weiss," she explained. "Yang loves to hug people - if that was enough to make me jealous...I'd literally be green by now."
"Oh...right," Weiss responded, flashing her a slightly nervous smile.
As she opened her mouth in an attempt to assuage the girl's reservations some more, applause caught their attention, drawing their gazes across the room towards the DJ stage - where Yang was now standing, microphone in hand.
"Heyyyyy everyone!" the blonde called out, music quieting so everyone could hear her clearly. "So someoneeee gave me a microphone -"
"Who's horrible idea was that?" someone in the crowd shouted, drawing laughs.
Yang also grinned at the joke, flashing one of those smiles the blonde was known for.
"Hey, Nora's still here?" the actress asked without missing a beat. "Isn't she a fire hazard after nine o'clock?"
Everyone laughed even harder at that - while Nora pouted playfully on the other side of the room, just barely visible from where she was currently standing.
"Oh, Ren's here with her," Yang continued, letting out an exaggerated sigh of relief while running the back of one hand across her forehead. "Keep a close eye on her, Ren - we all wanna live through tonight!"
She shook her head while more laughs rippled through the crowd.
It was clear as day how much Yang was enjoying herself right now - the girl was born to be the center of attention. The brighter the light, the more radiant the blonde would become, as if somehow Yang was absorbing the energy and amplifying it within herself - reflecting it back tenfold.
"Anyway, let's get some karaoke going, shall we?" Yang suggested, nodding her head as the crowd voiced their approval of the idea. "First up, I'll be joined by a very special guest...Weiss Schnee! Come on up, Weiss!"
When the rest of the crowd turned their direction, Weiss looked to her as if she might somehow be able to save her from joining Yang for a song.
"You should go now...before she makes it more embarrassing," she said, nudging the girl forward instead.
"Weiss, you know you don't hang out with us enough when everyone looks surprised that you're here," Yang was saying from the stage as the singer made her way slowly through the crowd.
And some of the guests really did seem rather shocked by the girl's presence.
When Weiss made it to Yang, the blonde extended a hand and pulled Weiss easily up on the stage beside her.
Unlike Yang, Weiss didn't seem to enjoy the limelight so much...which seemed exceptionally strange for someone who performed live concerts in front of thousands of people at once.
"So, we all know you can sing just about anything," Yang directed towards Weiss. "But can you...rap?"
She laughed along with the crowd as Yang chose the most inappropriate rap song imaginable - one she'd heard the girl singing bits and pieces of after getting back from the gym.
But it was a clever song choice - one where no one could possibly hope of sounding good so there was less pressure to appear perfect. She'd really only ever heard Yang singing the chorus, which was by far the slowest and easiest part. Beyond that...good luck.
As expected, as soon as the song began, Yang proceeded to make an absolute fool of herself - even more than usual - in an attempt to make Weiss comfortable. The words were flying by on the projector screen so fast, it sounded like they were only hitting every other one.
For her part, Weiss was a little stiff at first, looking unsure of how hard she was supposed to be trying to make the song...actually sound like a song. But when it became crystal clear that neither Yang nor any of the guests cared what it sounded like, the girl actually eased up and looked like she was having a bit more fun.
Of course, even though she wasn't really trying, Weiss was about a hundred times better than Yang - even at rapping.
Not that Yang had a horrible voice. She was actually quite fond of the girl's singing - usually being treated to a song when the girl was showering after the gym or cooking something for dinner.
But Weiss was just that good. Even though it was a rap song and no one should really have sounded good, the singer nailed the second chorus perfectly.
As the song drew to a close, the duo was met with a ruckus of cheers for their efforts. And as Yang bowed facetiously towards the group, she knew that it was only a matter of time before -
"Blake! Blake, come up here and join us!"
Shaking her head at the inevitable, she made her way towards the little stage to join her girlfriend and their new friend.
"Oh, and Pyrrha, you too!" Yang called out, searching for the redhead in the crowd before spotting her on the other side of the room. "Everyone give a hand to these three lovely ladies for planning the night for us!"
Applause and whistles of appreciation rang out from the people behind her as she accepted Yang's hand to be pulled up onto the stage.
As soon as her feet were back on solid ground, she was surprised by a pair of warm lips on her own - Yang catching her completely off guard with the impromptu kiss before turning to help Pyrrha join them. But when Yang reached out one hand, the redhead held both of her arms up in the air.
"I'm fine without a kiss," the model teased while boosting herself gracefully onto the stage without any help.
"Everyone, Pyrrha just said she wishes I'd give her a kiss," Yang said quickly into the microphone, drawing laughs from the guests and the model.
"I want a kiss!"
Surprised by the outburst, they looked into the crowd to find Nora shrugging nonchalantly as everyone looked at the girl in amusement.
"Uh...maybe later, Nora," the actress replied, turning to Blake with wide eyes. "Let's get another song going first! How about - oh, let's sing that snazzy new song Weiss just wrote! Everyone knows that, right?"
She and Pyrrha both nodded - knowing exactly which song Yang was talking about. It had only been the most popular song for the last few months, playing on the radio over and over again.
It was quite catchy, too.
Someone passed another microphone up to Pyrrha, who stood beside Weiss to share, while Yang sauntered over and slung one arm comfortably around her shoulders.
The first notes of music started up and she sent one more glance towards Weiss - the singer noticing her look and giving her a small smile to relieve her hesitations on picking this particular song.
Assured that the girl was ok with it, she focused instead on not making a fool of herself while singing in front of the crowd of ultra famous celebrities. Which...she really didn't need to worry about when Yang started singing beside her, the blonde doing some crazy little jig at the same time.
As with everything else, Yang always knew how to make things just plain fun. By the time the song had ended, the four of them had probably laughed far more than they sang - none of them caring how it might have sounded to their audience.
Although, maybe it ended up sounding alright because the guests all applauded them wildly as they hopped off the stage - Pyrrha instantly separating from them in order to find Jaune.
Walking away, Yang relinquished her microphone to Nora, who was dragging a very somber Lie Ren behind her.
"Well, that was spectacular!" the blonde gushed as the three of them moved back over by the bar, where it was quieter and less crowded.
"It was very fun," she added, with Weiss nodding in agreement.
"But, I should really get going now," Weiss finally spoke up after glancing quickly at her cell phone for the time.
"Thank you so much!" Yang instantly shouted, looking as if she might scoop the singer up for another hug, but thought better of it at the last second. "And thank you for coming! Oh! I forgot to ask - when's your birthday?"
Weiss blinked at the unexpected question before answering.
"Oh, in about a month -"
"Perfect! I'm totally throwing you one hell of a party!" the blonde said, before leaning close to her and softly adding, "You'll help me, right?"
Nodding her head in agreement, Yang instantly resumed a bright smile which Weiss hesitantly returned.
"I really don't need a party…" the girl began to say.
"Nonsense! You're getting one anyway - and the more you complain, the bigger it's gonna be! Right now, it's about forty guests…"
Weiss opened her mouth to respond, causing Yang to raise one eyebrow in anticipation of being able to expand the guest list. But then...the singer just shook her head lightly and smiled - truly smiled.
"I'll see you soon then," Weiss replied instead, taking a few steps towards the front door before she paused and turned back towards them. "Oh, and Yang?"
"Yeah?"
"Happy birthday."
With that, the girl gave them another smile before disappearing behind a group of party guests on the way to the exit.
The two of them stood in semi-stunned silence for several seconds before Yang finally spoke.
"Did you see that?"
The blonde was now bursting with more happiness - something that hadn't seemed possible just a few seconds ago.
"Yup, she's learned not to fight what you're going to do anyway," she teased in response.
"Andddd…?"
"And...I think she kind of likes you," she added, knowing that was the answer Yang was searching for.
"We have to throw her a really good party, Blake! Something she'll actually enjoy!"
"She does deserve it, doesn't she?" she mused thoughtfully, before turning her undivided attention back to Yang. "But, let's worry about that later - there's still a little bit of your birthday left, after all."
"Right! My party today - Weiss' tomorrow!"
Grinning at the girl's enthusiasm, she allowed Yang to grab her hand and drag her towards the dance floor.
"Come on, I still haven't gotten to dance with my favorite person!"
"Funny...neither have I," she responded playfully as Yang picked a spot for them and slid another arm around her waist.
Karaoke wasn't really the right music for them to be slow dancing the way they were, but that hardly seemed to matter. The social aspect of the party was winding down, and she could feel that Yang just wanted to spend time with her.
A feeling that was absolutely mutual.
They danced together for the longest time, being interrupted every so often to say goodbye to guests who were leaving as the party approached a close.
But they would immediately resume their embrace, Yang holding her close, their foreheads resting together as they swayed to whatever music was playing. Their energy from the day seemed to have finally been fully depleted, just a couple hours after the girl's official birthday had passed them by.
"Thank you for the best birthday ever," Yang whispered to her.
"You're welcome" she replied softly. "I'm glad you had a good day. You deserve it."
The blonde hmmm'd in appreciation, remaining silent for a second before opening her mouth to say something, only to close it again.
Pausing her footsteps, she leaned backward so she could see Yang's eyes, feeling that the girl had something important to say. She didn't need to say anything - the look itself was enough to prompt the blonde to continue unabashedly.
"And...to top it all off, I get to go home with you. This night, and every night. I mean, how freaking lucky am I?"
No one else on this planet could possibly melt her heart so fast, with words that were at the same moment impromptu and incredibly genuine.
For all the money, for all the fame, Yang was always grateful...and conducted herself with an air of not understanding why everyone loved her so much. It was like the sun believing it was just another star in the sky, not understanding just how brightly it shone.
If anyone was lucky, it was her - but the actress would argue that to the ends of time.
"I love you," she said, reaching one hand up to tuck a single wave of blonde hair behind Yang's ear. "And we're both lucky."
"I love you too," Yang replied softly before pulling her in for a hug - one that they held for as long as they wanted, very few people remaining who might interrupt them.
Maybe the blonde hugged people often...but she was positive no one in the world would ever experience what she was right now - the love flowing between them almost palpable as tingles of excitement traced their way along her skin.
It was in moments like these that she knew, beyond any doubt, that Yang was hers and hers alone.
Well...they were each other's.
"Oh!" she suddenly said, mind being drawn back to the conversation on luck she'd had earlier that night - something she wanted to say before losing herself completely in Yang's warm embrace. "I might have...kinda volunteered you to set Weiss up with someone."
The comment drew a giggle from the blonde, neither of them breaking apart as they continued to sway gently on the dance floor.
"Who could I possibly set her up with?"
Chuckling, she tucked her face into the crook of Yang's neck, where it was warm and soft to the touch.
"I'm sure you'll think of someone…" she murmured in response.
"Maybe I could, but right now...the only person I can think of is you."
Letting out a small giggle, she buried her smile at the words, feeling her cheeks warm rapidly.
Hopelessly corny?
Yes.
But she loved it anyway.
