Skye stared at the front door, waiting for Kathrine's arrival back home. She hadn't been with her owner to work today, and didn't know why.
The door creaked open; Kathrine was back! Skye jumped up on her hind legs, yipping gleefully.
Kathrine moped to the bedroom, moaning miserably. She flopped onto her bed.
Skye's smile turned to a frown. "Whuzz (What's) wrong?" the cockapoo inquired, with a whimper.
"Well, last night, I was notified that the airline service we work for was bought. Now there's a new boss," Kathrine explained. "He's placed a new policy that forbids any pets from staying with any of the passengers."
Skye tilted her head curiously.
Kathrine got of her bed and walked towards the kitchen. "It's to help people who are allergic to pets stay okay, which is fine," she continued. "But that means you can't come on the planes with me anymore!"
Skye gasped. "No fly-fly?" she frowned.
Kathrine nodded slowly and wretchedly. "Which brings me to my next point," she began to reveal. "You can't be my puppy anymore."
Sorrow formed in Skye's eyes. She ran up to cuddle her owner. "Why not?" she questioned.
"It's not that I don't want you to be my puppy," Kathrine justified. "It's just, my flights are so long, so I wouldn't be able to take care of you! I wouldn't be around to give you food, give you water, or take you on walks!"
While Skye wasn't happy about this, she understood. Without a human around, she couldn't be properly taken care of.
"I've put up an article online that you need a new home. It's in a place called Adventure Bay," Kathrine continued. "I've been there before to see family, and the people there are very nice. I'm sure you'll be happy there."
Skye nodded in agreement. She trusted that Kathrine would help find her a good home.
