I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon.
With the tour of the village suddenly cut short thanks to his father's sudden departure in order to confront the delinquents at the park. Lincoln found that he now has sudden free time on his hands. The question now however is what exactly is he going to do? Maybe one of his sisters is available to hang out with? Or maybe he could head on over to the entertainment room and hope that the TV is available? Sure there are multiple TVS throughout the castle, but that one is perhaps the best one as it's the widest and has the best sound quality out of all of them.
That's a good possibility to spend the rest of the day, but Lincoln would just have to hope that something good is on at the moment. Now that he had an idea of what he could do for the day, Lincoln walked his way through the courtyard with purpose, hopping that the TV was free by the time he gets there. Halfway through the courtyard though a saliva covered tennis ball bounces right in front of his feet, plus stopping him in his tracks.
Looking down at the saliva covered ball for a second, the young lad smiled to himself for he knew on who this ball belonged to. Looking up on his left, Lila the dragon happily looked on him with her tongue slightly out like a dog, complete with a little wag of her massive tail. Yep, despite being a large dragon, she does sometimes act like a dog from time to time, especially when playing her favorite game of fetch. A game that Lana had introduced to her back when she had been a little dragon.
"Hey Lela." Looking back down to the ball. Lincoln happily picked it up, bouncing it in his hand. "I taken you wanna play a little game of fetch?"
Lela nodded her massive head with her eyes closed in which Lincoln clearly taken that as a clear yes. "Alright. We can have a little game of fetch." It wasn't watching TV, but at least it was something to do.
So stretching his arm back as far as he could, Lincoln threw the ball with all of his might. Lela happily chases after the ball, while also being careful on not knocking anything over. She catches the ball in between her large front teeth, she shakes it a bit before happily returning it to Lincoln's awaiting hand, who ignores the newly saliva covered ball as he threw the ball again.
This is a much larger throw that caused the ball to fly much higher into air, but that wasn't a problem for Lela who expands out her wings and flew up into the air with one great swoop. The wind from her wings blew back Lincoln's hair and clothes, along with some leafs in a gust of wind.
Lela catches the ball without a problem. She does a couple of flips in the air before finally flying back down and gracefully lands back down in front of Lincoln, dropping the ball down in front of Lincoln's feet who gave her a thumbs up for her impressive flips. "Nice tricks Lela."
Picking the ball back up again. Lincoln then decided that now is a good time to do something different, something that he and Lila have been working on for the last couple of weeks now. "Alright Lela. Time to batter up."
Lela nods and turned her entire body around so that her tail is now facing him. The tail is raised all the way up to the right, ready to swing. Nodding to himself, Lincoln is ready to do a little baseball pitch. Baseball may not be exactly a Scottish sport, but Lincoln has seen a few clips of the American sport from both clips online and his sister Lynn who happily explained in full details about the game. "Get ready to swing!"
Throwing the ball with a overhead throw. It flies at Lela at high speeds before getting smacked hard by her tail. Sending it flying all the way through the air and into an open window of one of the castle's towers making Lincoln wince a bit for he didn't want that to happen. "Whoops"
Beside him Lela let's out a sad groan as she lowered her head down a bit. Going to her rear, left leg Lincoln gives it a gentle pet with a little reassuring smile. "Don't worry Lela. I'm sure it didn't crash into anything. I'll just go get it from there and then will continue with our game of fetch." Without waiting for her to look at him, Lincoln quickly ran into the castle to retrieve Lela's ball.
Dusting her way through the east tower with a scowl. Morag is in a very bad mood today, more so than usual. For those Loud brats seem to be more louder than their usual loud, annoying selves today. It didn't help that in some areas of the castle it's messier than in other areas or the occasional explosions that's rocked the castle from Lisa's room.
If only she was a Dutchess. Then things would be much more nicer around here, not to mention very quiet. She smiled over the thought of that, all their activities banned in the kingdom, no one from the village will come and bother her, and the thing that made her smile most of all is the thought of seeing their miserable faces, that'll just be glorious to witness.
Moving around the corner with that smile. Morag is too busy thinking about her fantasy that she wasn't watching on where she was going. Stepping on the tennis balls, Morag let out a surprise Yelp as she fell to the floor with a thud, she lays there for a minute, twitching her eye in anger for how dare something interrupt her wonderful fantasy.
Getting back up on her feet, Morag picked up the ball with narrowed eyes. Of course it was a ball that did it, no doubt left behind by that sporty Loud. She should throw this cursed thing in the trash right now for the trouble it caused her. "Hey Morag!"
The voice of Lincoln makes her wince for not only is she not going to be able to throw this ball away, but she also has to act all nice to the little white hair brat. So forcing up her fake smile, Morag slowly turned to the young Duke. "Good day sire. Your back early from that tour your father was giving you."
Lincoln nodded with a bit of a shrug. "Yeah. Our tour got cut off because some delinquents are running amok in the park."
"Oh dear. Those wretched, no brain, Plankton size delinquents are always causing trouble." Morag said in fake concern for the village's safety. "It's a real shame that they cut your tour short."
"Yeah, but what are you going to do." Lincoln shrugged. Besides his dad will continue to show him the rest of the village some time later. "I do know however, that I'm going to rule the village one day."
"So I heard." Morag remarked with a roll of her eyes. Lincoln then thought up of something that made him laugh up a bit. "You know. I just realized that when I become Duke. I'm basically going to be your boss." Lincoln goes into another chuckle, not noticing the twitch in her eye as she fought to keep up her smile. "Ain't that funny?" He asked her.
"Yes" Morag answered after a moment of silence with that twitch of her eye. "Very amusing."
Now Lincoln did notice the twitch of Morag's eye. "Hey is there something wrong with your eye?" Morag quickly stopped her twitching and smiled a bit more wider. "Oh no. I'm fine. Just got a little eyelash in my eye that's all. Nothing to worry about."
Turning away from him in order to go back to her frown, she went on up to a blue vase to dust. "Any other Dukes will be glad to have me in their line of work. Especially the young Dukes of this family."
"But I'm the only young Duke in this family." Lincoln pointed out.
"All the reason why your safety is a top priority." Turning away from the vase, she next goes on over to a tapestry. "It's too bad you didn't get to see the whole village, especially the place at the East side of the village. You know the place at the limit of our boarders."
Widening his eyes in recognition, Lincoln had completely forgotten about it since he was too busy playing fetch with Lela. But now that Morag reinstated the place right back into his young mind, he began to think about it all over again. "I don't think we were going to there anyway. Dad said that it was a forbidden place that I shouldn't go to."
"He's absolutely right, it's far too dangerous for the likes of you." Sweeping away the last of the dust, Morag turned back to face Lincoln with her eyes shut. "Besides only the bravest Dukes goes there."
"I'm pretty brave." Lincoln countered.
"Of course you are sire, but your obviously not ready to face what lurks there. It's too bad, especially since I heard that a special treasure is said to be somewhere in there." Realizing on what she just said Morag places a hand over her mouth. "Whoops"
Lincoln eyes twinkles as he leaned forward in anticipation. "Treasure?" He never heard of a treasure near Loch Loud before, all the treasure he ever heard about was in that recent adventure story he's been reading about. The thought of a real life treasure excited him to no end. Morag meanwhile places a hand on her forehead. "Silly me. I've said too much, I suppose now your probably thinking of going over there to find it. Not that I recommend it, but if you do, I'm sure it'll impress your family."
"Really?" Lincoln questioned for he did want to impress them.
"Oh yes. Finding a treasure will surly be most impressive." Morag remarks with a new smile plastered on her. "Now let's keep this between us. Shall we."
"Of course Morag. It's our little secret." Forgetting about why he came up here in first place, due to the new aspect of finding treasure. Lincoln goes off with these thoughts, leaving Morag to have a devious look in her eyes with a wide, Grinchy smile.
Looking to the tennis ball still in her hand, she clenches the ball within her palm. "Our little secret indeed."
Running through the castle in excitement all Lincoln could think about is finding that treasure. It's going to be so cool to find a treasure just like one of those adventures in those stories of his. It's going to be a great adventure for him and he is sure that he wasn't the only one who is going to enjoy an adventure in an uncharted land, he hopes however that his dad isn't going to find out that he's going to a place he specifically instructed him not to go to.
Reaching the main hall at last, Lincoln touches the knobs of the doors when Luna's voice addressed him from behind. "Yo. Where you off to in such a hurry little bro?"
Hearing one of his sister's voices caused Lincoln to wince a bit for now things got extremely complicated for him. What he needed to do or say now has to be very careful for if he told Luna about going to that forbidden place, he might as well go into a military base and scream at the top of his lungs for if one sister knows, they all will know and he might as well forget about going over there if he blabs it to Luna now.
Thinking hard, Lincoln quickly came up with the perfect lie to tell his sister. Turning to face her, he took notice of her standing in the archway leading to the ballroom with her bagpipes in hand and her trademark chill smile. If he could take a wild guess, he bet that Luna had been practicing in there before going off to get a snack or a drink.
"Oh, I was just heading over to the bookstore to see if any new books have been released." He answered with a convincing grin, earning a thumbs up from Luna. "Cool. Have fun with that bro." With that Luna goes upstairs, leaving her brother to feel relief that his ruse had worked smoothly.
Quickly opening up the door to avoid any more run in's with his sisters. Lincoln exited out of the castle, went down the courtyard, and over the drawbridge as he made his way towards the village. Leaving behind Lela who still waited patiently for her ball to return.
Although Lincoln had been born in royalty, it didn't mean that he didn't interact with the residents of the village, in fact his father and mother insisted on being social with them as they were all there friends. It's a rather good thing that they did that, for if they didn't, then Lincoln would have never met his very good friend: Taylor.
Taylor is Lincoln's good friend that happens to be a girl. She has long black hair and is usually seen with her trademark green sweater that she always wears. She likes to have fun, enjoys the same books that Lincoln likes, and has a great talent of holding her breath underwater for a record of thirty minutes. Overall she and him are very good friends and they loved to spend time together, especially when an adventure is present to them.
Coming into the village; Lincoln excuses himself as he moved pass the citizens who all happily greeted him, which Lincoln happily returns. Many of the citizens were simply walking down the sidewalk with some of them holding grocery bags or other items in their hands, the others he passed were simply looking at the windows of stores in great interest. Several cars also pass by in a steady pace as they went on the roundabout and went in whatever direction they wanted to go.
Looking before crossing across the street, Lincoln walked to the other sidewalk and then over the bridge. Now on the other side he walked passed many other buildings such as the Inn, coffee shop, library, town hall, and the bakery before at lasts he gets to Taylor's house.
Taylor herself is sitting on her front step, holding a spoon to her nose. She carefully let's go of the spoon and it remains on her nose much to her delight. "Nice"
"Hey Taylor." Lincoln greeted.
"Hey Lincoln." She greeted back without looking at him, instead she points to the spoon on her nose. "Check it out. I finally mastered the art of my nose holding a spoon." The spoon suddenly plops off her nose and clangs to the ground much to her slight annoyance. "Dang it."
Quickly getting over of her trick being over, Taylor at lasts turned to face her best friend. "So what's new?"
"Get this Taylor. I recently found out about a treasure."
"Treasure?" She repeats with a grin as she liked the sound of that. "I'm listening."
"Alright, so Morag told me about this treasure that's." Looking around to make sure that no one is listening in on their conversation, he leaned in to whisper in Taylor's ear. "Located in the forbidden place at the East."
"Oh, so it's mysterious and it's in a place that we are not supposed to go. Sounds like a great misadventure for a couple of knuckleheads like us." With that she hops up on her feet with her hands on her hips like Wonder Woman. "Let's go on this adventure shall we and get our rightful riches."
Jumping off the step, she and Lincoln walk off to begin their grand adventure towards the forbidden place. Heading there the two made sure to avoid anyone who may ask them on where exactly they were going as they didn't want anyone to stop them or worse tell their parents. In order to avoid that, they took the path at the edge of the village.
So far they were lucky enough to avoid any pondering eyes and they hoped that it would stay like that as they chatted with each other. "So you heard about the small town in Michigan doing their yearly quest thing?" Taylor asked him.
"No, afraid I didn't have a look at any news articles recently." He replied.
"Boy, that quest thing sure looked fun as it had all these challenges to participate in." She then laughs a bit as she recalled something from that article. "But oh man. You wouldn't believe it. Some bozo named Flip tried to cheat on one of the challenges and got disqualified for it." Letting out a series of laughter for only a bozo like that would cheat on a challenge and then get rightfully caught red handed like that. It's basically instant karma.
"Man" Lincoln began after doing a bit of laughter of his own. "I can't imagine on what it would be like to live in a small American town like that."
"Who knows." Taylor shrugged. "Maybe in an alternate universe, you do live in that town."
"Do you actually believe in that?" Lincoln may believe in a few things like ghosts, aliens, the Loch Ness monster. But alternate universes seems like a bit of a stretch.
"You don't know. They could exist." Taylor quickly countered. "We don't know everything about the universe, so in all possibilities alternate universes are out there. Besides your sister Lisa believes in them and if she does, then there's a huge chance that they exist."
"I suppose." Lincoln shrugged as he jumped up on a log that laid on the side of the path and balances his way to the other end. "But you know something Taylor."
"What?"
Jumping off the log, Lincoln gives her mischievous grin. "I do believe that I can beat you to the forbidden place." Without giving her a chance to speak up or register on what he just said, Lincoln took off running, leaving her in the dust.
After a moment of blinking in surprise, a competitive smile spread on her. "You are so on." Running off in full speed, she easily catches up with Lincoln as they raced towards their destination, both were getting the lead on each other before getting overtaken by the other. All the while during this race, Lincoln started thinking about his future.
He is going to be a mighty Duke, so enemies beware as he isn't going to let any delinquent run amok through the village. He'll grow a nice long beard, complete with a mighty mustache as he worked on delivering speeches to everyone. He'll expand the castle to suit his family further, including a guest hall for anyone who visits. No one will tell him on what to do as he'll be free to run around all day. Free to do it all his way. But best of all during that future, he'll do his best to make everyone happy, whether it'll be his family or friends.
Oh, he just can't wait to be Duke.
