Chapter 4: The Interest
It was almost painfully easy finding the abandoned iron mine, though its true qualities of its hidden capabilities are in its 'official' state as being abandoned. From her vantage point above the black chasm it certainly did look abandoned on first glance. Only a sensor would ever suspect activity at the mine from residual chakra signatures. The entrance to the mine lined in rusted steel beams nailed to the wall was settled halfway into the wall of the great chasm that was Kaiba Canyon.
The bleak black appearance of the canyon heavily contrasted with the fields of green grass and meadow flowers that flanked on either side, and in the distance were the white snow-covered mountains of the Land of Iron. To the west Ruby could see the land become more barren to the Land of Earth and beside that the stormy mountains of the Land of Lightning capped by a constant layer of clouds.
'This place must've been quite lucrative back in the day with so many nearby countries to sell the iron ore.' Ruby thought. 'But its also as likely to have been a major contest for resources in the Shinobi Wars. No wonder it was abandoned, and now rogue and criminals are free to use it in these times of so-called peace.'
Credit was due to whatever shinobi were hidden here that they at least kept their operations under a low profile and avoid official forces. If not, then there would already been signs of infiltration and possible skirmishes to root out the rogue shinobi for causing trouble. It also worked that there weren't a lot of villages nearby to raid. All the more she saw it on first glance did Ruby see how tight whatever operation was happening here, and it could not just be for Uzumaki treasures of fuinjutsu and such.
Her left hand flashed through handsigns and ten shadow clones of herself came into existence at her side, and yet the kinjutsu didn't even take a drop in her reserves. No words were needed as her clones already had the orders to scout ahead while Ruby followed behind. Wind whistled in the wake of her ten clones speeding through the mine entrance without a sound to alert of their presence. Ruby took her time 'walking' down the near 90 degree slope of the chasm and then walking on the ceiling of mine almost like a spider.
A seemingly direct approach really, but it took advantage of one aspect about people. Shinobi or not, anyone rarely looked up to the ceiling.
Crouching low against the ceiling, she made her way through the near black darkness of the cave. Years living with her great-grandfather and Uncle Obito in the cave hideout worked wonders for her eyesight in the shadows. Her travels soon came onto a fork in the path. Normal civilians would think everything was normal of a branch in the mine. A quick flash of her silver Sharingan proved otherwise to reveal the whole thing to be a genjutsu that hid a collapse of rubble long ago.
Instead the correct path branched off to the direct right into the depths below. It did come to a surprise that lining that pathway in the wall were scripture of fuinjutsu. Uzumaki fuinjutsu to be precise meant to forcefully keep out potential invaders and alarm the rogue nin here. To most people even those versed in fuinjutsu would find making a long formula difficult. Fortunately, she had quite a lot of free time and shadow clones to study her ancestor's fuinjutsu art, and the sealing was already tampered by her shadow clones that fooled the seal to accept her chakra signature.
After passing the barrier, her ears were picking up sounds of iron picks hitting rock and the wheels of carts rolling over tracks. There was just the occasional loud yell of several man, which could indicate a larger complex in place than there really should be. Her shadow clones were already ahead scouting further areas and still haven't popped yet, giving more credence to how big this hideout must be.
What unsettled Ruby behind her mask of Uchiha-like composure was the smell of misery and pain that permeated the air. Both a physical and metaphorical sense in that the smell of filth was heavy in the air. Even the ambient chakra Ruby felt around her was heavy in negativity. Eventually, Ruby reached the end of the downward tunnel with an exit where artificial light was shining from in contrast to the darkness. It was only once she came within a few feet did she finally hear one of the voices.
"Keep on moving, you brats, or do you us to bury you?!"
'Brats!?' Thought Ruby. 'Children! What are they doing to children!?'
Her movements increased in haste to uncover the meaning in the words shouted by the voice of a gruff man. Silver Sharingan were ablaze prepared to take in exact details. Once she peeked her head forward for a view, admittedly Ruby almost lost it of what she saw in droves.
'No!' Ruby thought, her composure crumbling into baring teeth. 'How could they do this!?'
The reason for all this secrecy in this 'abandoned' mine was slaves. Child slaves bound in chain, harness, and iron ball forced to work with iron pick to mine the ore from the rock and pushing heavy carts of mined ore. In that huge chamber three stories high big enough for a biju to sit in was a whole slave operation to use the iron mine. She glared more than stared at rogue nin with headbands of Iwa scratched out forcing slaves no older than eight with whips and threatening leers. The fear in the slaves' eyes was all apparent as well as how hard they were having it in the dirty rags they were wearing.
The fact these shinobi were taking enjoyment in torturing children almost made Ruby unleash Susanoo, consequences of blindness be damned, and slaughter them for this injustice. Only one thing held her back were the metal collars on their necks, or more specifically the fuinjutsu tags she spotted with her Sharingan. By her analysis, it was an instant kill switch activated by a single handsign.
'That's why they bought Uzumaki treasures!?' Ruby internally outraged. 'Just so they can chain children down even more!? How dare they! How dare they use my ancestors' sealing arts for this - this bullshit! The late Uzumakis would be rolling in their grave of this crime of their art! They will...'
Fortunately, Ruby managed to realize in time that in her rage she was starting to raise her chakra levels to dangerous levels, and at that moment her shadow clones dispelled. The transferred knowledge mapped out the branching tunnels where more child slaves were being managed by at least one rogue nin. She was sure that these slave drivers beyond the main chamber were at least Chunin in strength, but Ruby could also make out elite Jonin or even ANBU level shinobi where she was right now. Not beyond her current skill level in a straight up fight, but she could not risk an open engagement as long as the children were in danger.
'Keep a cool head, Ruby.' The legacy to Madara thought, her silver Sharingan darting all over the chamber. 'Most of the rogue shinobi are concentrated here in this chamber and in rooms along the walls for their personal use. All of whom are at least low Jounin level, their leader most probably elite Jounin. The rest however are average Chunin situated in the caves to keep the children in line. That same leader also has to have the kill switch, and my only way to dispatch of him is in a stealthy manner. However, as soon as I make a kill, every rogue nin in the chamber will know I'm here and I will have no choice to fight in open combat. That will put the children in danger of the ensuing. I can definitely cause a distraction to have the shinobi lose their guard while I can send in Shadow Clones to assassinate the ones in the tunnels. So how am I going to lead the children out of harm's way?'
Deciding to get a better vantage point, Ruby used a Body Flicker to race up the wall of the chamber. She reappeared in an instant her sticking firmly to the ceiling veiled. The shadows of the higher level kept her perfectly hidden while giving Ruby the best lookout over everything beneath her.
It was then that she saw him. Her eyes caught a head of spiky red hair, not even marred by dirt or grime, working alone at an isolated spot. For some odd reason, Ruby could not get her eyes away as soon as she saw the flash of red. At first, Ruby thought it was a surviving Uzumaki that had been unfortunately roped into this whole mess. This head of short red hair belonged to a boy her own age wearing a dirty grey shirt and shorts that left tanned skin almost peach in color exposed. His feet were bare and vulnerable to the outside hazards, but the boy was resourceful in that he substituted with wrapping rags around the soles of his feet. His eyes were hetochromic with his left a deep purple and the other a bright green.
Catching all of her attention besides his looks was the expression on his face that was unlike the misery from the other children. His face had one of concentration and determination even as Ruby noticed how his body screamed to stopped. She assessed the scene more and saw how a considerable portion of the rogue shinobi had a direct view of him and the children on a raised, circular platform made from earth jutsu. On it was a table filled with food of cooked meats and delicacies that these bastards did not deserve to have instead feeding them scraps. All the children could only look at the smug rogue nin with misery and hopelessness.
But not the red-haired boy that caught Ruby's attention as well as the eyes of the shinobi there. His iron pick struck with the ore, causing visible cracks to appear on each swing. Her eyes widened at how the strength the boy was putting into the iron pick, much more than even a fresh Genin can make with chakra enhancing the body. This boy was no ordinary folk, even for someone from a major shinobi village. At that moment, her vendetta for the rogue shinobi was put on pause as Ruby grew more curious of the boy and continued to watch.
Eventually, the shinobi guards neglected to watch and went to their meal with greed, totally forgetting to keep an eye on any of the children. That was when the boy finally made his move, and Ruby perked up in attention at his new body language. With impressive stealth, the red haired boy scaled up the platform till he was just a few feet below them using a rock as cover. Then, the boy's hand reached out aimed at the table with the shinobi too busy getting drunk over sake.
That was when Ruby saw what could be almost called a miracle to the civilian world, and a very rare talent in the shinobi world. The stale winds in the cave were suddenly given strength and direction to the table. With both expert precision and great strength, the boy manipulated the winds of the air with his outstretched hand via chakra by carrying over half a loaf of bread to his person. Ruby was so enraptured by the sight of a boy her own age using wind chakra on a scale that rivaled kage she didn't care to notice if the other children saw it or not.
Beads of sweat were visible on the boy's face, evident to the price it was taking to keep this feat up. Slowly, he floated the bread over to himself till his other hand snapped to grasp it close to his person. Carefully, the possible Uzumaki descended down back to his level and approached a blind spot at the far side of the chamber where shadows and natural stalactites provided cover. It also worked in the boy's favor that it was 'feeding' time for the slaves, which most of the shinobi did not bother to even look at the children as they selfishly filled their own gullets.
From that hiding spot, the boy spared a glance around his surroundings to check if the rogue nin were not paying attention. He went off to his previous spot to pick up the iron pick. He looked like he was going to go back to work as he struck the grey stone again, but Ruby noticed that his three first strikes had a different pitch to them. As it would seem, the children surrounding him nearby perked up at the noise and carefully approached him. The former watching shinobi did not care when the children started to gather, too busy indulging their stomachs, and it was 'break' time for their slaves to eat their scraps as they threw down barely cooked meat and rotten bread that was entirely forgotten.
Once most of the children were gathered around the red-haired boy and expectantly waited for him, the boy then moved a loose rock out of the way where a stash of crude stone bowls and scraps of other stolen goods were stored. Quietly yet excitedly, the boy handed each bowl to the children. He brought out the stolen goods that was fitted in a sizable pot filled with water from their meager rations. Cupping a hand underneath it, Ruby leaned forward in surprise and growing interest as the boy lit a small yet hot flame underneath that boiled the water and its contents. The smell was not the best for food, but better than whatever they were given and after a few minutes the children were elated to get a helping of this survival grit that the boy cooked.
They made sure not to cry in joy, but they were nonetheless happy with food that was seemingly significantly better. Their visible cheer did not dine Ruby's attention, but the smile on the boy's face. It was a unique and genuine smile born from the fact that he was helping others. A smile that spoke that this boy would risk his whole life just to help others or even just to make them smile. Ruby found herself adoring that smile, and her heart grew in beats towards that boy for they shared a similar desire to help people. In that moment, her respects instantly rose the highest for this very boy that had caught her attention, but it was something that will forever change her life.
Because in that moment Ruby knew that she had to help him so that they could help everyone. So that she can see how far this red haired boy smiling for the smiles of others will go with her.
'I have to meet him.' Ruby thought. 'I want to bring him with me.'
To her in that moment, Ruby may have found someone who could be her first real friend. She had been unable to make a friendship outside of her great-grandfather's home lest the risk of the world realizing Madara Uchiha was still alive. In her mind, someone like this boy smiling just to help others deserved to be free, and his very unique capacity with his chakra was astounding. It takes considerable reserve and control to use wind and fire chakra that way the boy did without handsigns at his age. Like her great-grandfather, Ruby saw talent when she saw it and she wanted to see it grow.
Her left hand held up one handsign and tens of clones appeared from puffs of smoke, perched upside down. They were already moving in blurry forms with most into the tunnels to assassinate the Chunin and get the children to safety in the coming fight. Some stayed behind in the chamber and positioned themselves over key guards that were in position to block the exit. The real Ruby made her way to a personal compartment built into the rock that was two stories high with a porch. There she saw a grizzled face of a scarred man with a crossed out Iwa headband and wearing customized armor that gave him a menacing look. A smug smile was plastered on his face as he overlooked the illegal mining operation that was only for his benefit.
There was no need to learn of this man's name. To Ruby as she positioned herself directly over the rogue nin, his crimes demanded for punishment this instant. He was strong that was for sure, but even the strongest will fall the moment they have dropped their guard. A single strong bite of steel was all it can take to end a life in an instant unless they were jinchuriki. She and her clones drew out their tanto ready to puncture through flesh.
Simultaneously, Ruby and her clones leaped down on their targets. Steel sliced into flesh cleanly through the shoulder where there was the least resistance to the heart. Not even the leader knew it was coming until it was too late. Unfortunately, she could do anything to stop the cry of pain from escaping their leaps and the surviving rogue nin were on the alert. Several of her clones released blasts of Scorch Release to create dust clouds as cover in the confusion and began to free the children from their bindings.
"Intruder!" One of the rogue Jounin shouted, pointing to Ruby at the porch.
'You think?' Ruby scoffed mentally as she rolled her eyes.
She made a few last clones to guard and escort the children in the chamber, especially the red-haired boy. Ruby didn't afford to spare a glance to him now that the shinobi's attention was solely on her. Already, Ruby had to block her tanto from a slice of a kunai when a Jonin jumped up to her level to kill her. The legacy of Madara responded with a breath of fire in the jutsu of Fire Release: Fire Dragon, burning the shinobi before to a charred corpse that fell to the floor of the chamber.
Ruby followed and dropped softly back to the ground. Surrounding her were all of the shinobi that were running this slavery operation either standing on rock formations or perched on the walls. All of them glared at the girl that had ruined anything with no amount of hate in contrast to their smugness earlier.
"No running, little bitch!" Cursed an ex-Iwa Jounin. "You are trapped in here with us."
That wasn't untrue. They were all Jonin with some high Chunin backing them up for support, and it all seemingly came down to that Ruby was not going to make it out alive. However, some may say she was just a child against a small squad of Jounin and groups of Chunin, the greatest mistake was to underestimate. After all...
"You like to think you've trapped me here." Ruby said, flashing them with her silver Sharingan in its full bloom. "Truth is, you are trapped in here with me."
...She is the successor to the Madara Uchiha, one of the named Gods of Shinobi. A girl she was, but in power she was the farthest from a weakling. Bright chakra of blue and white surrounded her body in a glowing sheen until she 'disappeared'. There was no way to describe the speed that surpassed their eyesight before a loud gurgle sounded from a Jonin with Ruby standing behind the man stabbing his heart with her tanto enhanced with Crystal Release. Her left hand unoccupied swiped three kunai by looping her fingers through the holes, and twisted the body of the Jounin around to use as cover against a hail of kunai her way. Using the three kunai she stole, Ruby threw them forward whistling through the air till her kunai found the throat of a Chunin each.
Ruby used one handsign for the Substitution that replaced herself with a normal rock right behind a Jonin in a crouched position, and then sliced his kneecaps to bring him down to her level and stabbed him in the chest the next instant. Next, she blew a piercing shot of wind with Wind Release: Wind Drill that struck several chasing Chunin in the chest like a real bullet would meeting flesh, leaving penny-sized holes in their wake.
"Earth Release: Stone Spears."
At least five Chunin on the ground called out before Ruby sensed a rumble in the earth. Her Sharingan tracked the movements of their chakra in the earth and dodged out of the way of spears of stone protruding from her previous position. She settled perched on the wall and her hands flashed through their own handsigns for one of her more creative techniques.
"Crystal Release: Growing Blade Garden."
Ruby slammed her hands at her feet to send waves of chakra through the stone. The ex-Iwa nin were expecting some sort of Earth Release technique as they summoned the earth to elevate them into the air. No sort of Earth jutsu could defend against crimson crystals growing from the ground like sprouting blades that crushed through earth like clay. They only had a chance to scream as the incredibly sharp crystals pierced their body, and they could not escape as they crystals grew from the very Earth jutsu they used. The same crystals tore apart the tracks that were carrying carts of iron ore, and left the bottom floor covered in crimson crystal blades skewering the criminals of Chunin by at least twenty at Ruby's count. Five Jonin that perched on the wall via chakra manipulation to avoid the attack and some lucky Chunin were the only survivors, all of them looking at Ruby in shock.
"Monster!" Cried a man in his late 20s. "This girl is a Kami damn monster!"
'Trust me, they are far worse out there.' Ruby thought, her right hand going through five handsigns.
"Scorch Release: Scorched World."
Her cheeks puffed slightly before Ruby expelled a condensed beam of crimson flames that almost seemed solid in appearance. On contact with the ground, the first floor became super-heated that the sprouted crystals were glowing from the heat. All remaining on the ground floor, which consisted of Chunin rogue nin, were only given the time to scream in agony as flesh and bone turned to ash in less than a second. The Jonin defended by covering themselves in bended earth, but those two close to the scorching ground found themselves literally cooked alive in within the tombs they created.
Ruby did not waste time to save mercy for the rogue Jonin as her form disappeared in a blur of pure speed. A gurgle escaped the lips of a Jonin from the far right where a kunai powered by wind chakra had gone straight through his chest. Another kunai sailed from that same direction at a Jonin from the other side, but the shinobi was attentive this time to avoid getting his left eye gouged out. Unfortunately, that very kunai had a paper bomb attached to it, and the Jonin had no choice but to avoid using a Substitution from the earth-shaking explosion that followed.
He replaced himself with a medium-sized boulder that was previously on the ground. Coming out of the Substitution, the Jonin withdrew a kunai in time to block Ruby's tanto strike from above. She leaped back letting the Jonin go on the offensive upon her as the clash of their blades sang through the chambers like high-pitched bells. While the Jonin may think he had the upper hand, Ruby was taking her time to analyze his movements with her Sharingan to find a flaw in his form. Eventually, Ruby found it when his swinging arc left the Jonin's right flank exposed, so she exploited that weakness first by igniting her tanto in fire chakra that sent out a wave of flames. It served to blind the Jonin for the moment, causing him to launch a blind jab with the kunai that was quickly deflected and punished from a quick slice through the man's wrist. His life ended a second later once Ruby stabbed him in the side, and a quick application of crystal chakra through the blade finished him off by impaling his body with sharp crimson crystals to puncture his vital organs.
"Ninja Art: Cloning Kunai."
A hail of kunai multiplied into tens from the remaining three Jonin came down from the sky to pierce Ruby. Her head glanced back to the coming rain of steel, instantly analyzing the pattern of the spread with her Sharingan. She stole the kunai from the dead Jonin before her and threw them to meet the hail of kunai. All of them were aimed in a precise manner that the respective kunai they hit deflected off course to hit the rest of the kunai, and the spread soon devolved in a shocking display of kunai deflecting other kunai, thus leaving Ruby out of harm's way.
Ruby used a Substitution with the kunai closest to one of the Jonin, stabbing her tanto through his throat in a clean kill. The other Jonin ran at her for a fight in taijutsu, so Ruby leveled her feet to stick to the wall. The two entered a lightning-fast taijutsu fight too fast for the normal eye to see. Trained speed from the Jonin was matched by Ruby's natural speed and surpassed with her use of her base Sharingan to keep track of her opponents movements. He tried to kick her due to Ruby's lower height, but she swayed passed the potentially bone-crushing blows and responded by slicking through the tendon in his right extended leg. In apparent anger, the Jonin resorted hammering down fists that Ruby easily deflected a forward punch and 'slid' behind his guard to land her own punch to his chest, slightly relishing how the feel of her knuckles breaking the ribs below.
Distracted by the pain, the Jonin left a significant part of his guard down, leaving Ruby to take the opportunity to spin into a powerful sweeping kick from the right that sent the Jonin crashing to the ground. The remaining Jonin chose that chance to try and stab behind Ruby after from that blow. She would not have properly reacted really from the speed the Jonin was moving and the small window that she left herself open in that moment. So Ruby had no choice but to briefly use her Mangekyou Sharingan.
As the pattern of her eyes changed, the powers that came from the evolved Dojutsu came to her beck and call. The kunai that would've stabbed into the back of her skull was halted by a barrier of solid silver chakra, almost white in appearance. First it was simply an intense aura, but soon took shape in the form of a rib cage that protected Ruby's whole body. Followed was a giant skeletal arm and hand that took hold of the Jonin and chucked him down with his ally. Ruby dispelled the Susanoo as she went through a single handsign.
"Fire Release: Spitfire Bomb."
She spat a small shot of fire that unleashed a potent explosion on impact where she aimed at the Jonin, showering the ground in brilliant sparks and shattered crystal. For a few seconds, Ruby stood still standing on the wall in the midst of the smoke and silence. She released a sigh of relief that the battle was both brief and not too destructive to hurt the children or damage the structure here where the Uzumaki treasures were. There was only one way any shinobi could use Uzumaki seals and that was through reverse engineering the original formulas which had to be stored here.
A mental command shattered the meadow of crystal blades into glittering dust, making it safe for Ruby to jump back down to the ground. Her eyes scanned over her surroundings till they landed back on the personal quarters of the leader with the dead switch she killed. If the Uzumaki artifacts were anywhere in this iron mine, it was probably best with the top buyer himself.
However, it the worst time that Ruby let her guard down entirely, Sharingan and all. Right behind Ruby the ground gave way for the last Jonin to jump out, the same one that Ruby threw down with her Susanoo. He was covered in severe second degree burns and his headband gave way for a maniacal look on a face charred black. Her head quickly turned around towards the ambushing Jonin via his sheer killing intent, her eyes shifting to the Mangekyou Sharingan to burn him into the Susanoo. She was less than a second before something else took care of her problem.
She felt more than saw a wave of dark purple energy just going missing her left ear by centimetres, and her Sharingan took in full detail the effects of this blast that hit the Jonin dead on... and annihilated head and torso completely. Absolutely nothing was left from the area of impact, leaving legs, waist, and arms charred black at the stumps to fall in a heap.
Even the fact that her Sharingan confirmed what she saw, Ruby could hardly believe what she had seen. It was most certainly a blast of chakra, but in a form she had never seen. That small moment it passed by her head, Ruby was almost overwhelmed by the sheer primal feel in the chakra. Its effects on the other hand though on first glance may have seen similar to that of Fire, Scorch, or even Dust Release, her Sharingan saw it as anything but that. At least with those affinities there was something left as ash or even steaming gas, but the blast literally eliminated everything it touched out of existence. As if it was chakra focused into the most pure form of destruction possible on a level not even Amaterasu flames could match.
'But who did that?' Thought Ruby, her head swiveling around to find the source.
Only to go shock stiff when her silver Sharingan eyes landed on the same red-haired boy that had caught her interest. The same boy her age who could manipulate elemental chakra on a whim, and had smiled in giving comfort to the children through a shared meal. And now the boy that had (seemingly) saved her life. On closer inspection, the feat of expelling chakra in that way had left the boy slightly panting.
Seconds passed like hours of silence between the two youngsters that were unable to say a word. The pressure built on Ruby to say something, but she simply was not used to much social interaction outside of her family with Madara and Obito. Her face began to turn a shade of red as the seconds ticked by in silence while still failing to come up with a good opening. She knew she was terrible at small talk, and that this moment even worse to speak to the boy that garnered her attention and saved her.
'Dang it, Ruby, you're being so stupid!' Ruby mentally berated herself. 'C'mon, it's - it's just words. Just say something!'
"Uhm... uh... Hi?" Ruby only managed to get out in a meek tone.
'WAAAAAAUGH!' In the meantime Ruby was internally having a crying meltdown.
"Uh, hello?" The boy sheepishly answered, scratching the back of his head. "Guess I got him, right?"
'... Oh good, he's bad at small talk as I am.' Ruby thought in relief as she continued to stare the redhead.
"My name's Ruby." The legacy of Madara introduced, holding out a hand. "Ruby Rose."
"Shirou." The now identified Shirou answered, taking Ruby's hand. "Shirou Arashi."
"Well, Shirou," Ruby said with a straightened posture in an effort to look mature, "thank you for the save, I guess. But why did you come back here?"
"I... just wanted to help." Shirou said. "I got everyone else to safety outside, and we raided their food supply to give them enough to travel to the nearest village. After that, I just thought that you needed some help here and I couldn't just leave the one who helped free everyone here. I thank you for that."
"While that's... really, really nice of you." Ruby complimented hesitantly, trying her best not to fail at her speech in her nervousness. "But don't you think you would've fine with everyone else."
"I don't think so." Shirou said with a shrug. "It's just that, well, I don't really have a place to go. Like I don't belong in most of the places I've been. As for coming here, people have always said that my penchant to 'save' people was a danger to myself. It's just that I can't just stand aside doing nothing when I-"
"-could have saved someone." Ruby concluded his words under her breath.
Instantly, she felt a connection to Shirou Arashi. It was more than just kinship, and Ruby could not resist the urge to just leave him be. She just had to make him her friend; her first friend that shared similar goals.
"Uhm, if you don't mind," Ruby offered, twisting the tip of her feet against the ground, "would you like to come with me?"
In the moment, Shirou made a smile that Ruby thought was one of the best things in the world. "I would love that, Ruby-san."
I did not expect this chapter to be long. I usually plan to write these out only by at least three thousand words, but then you get into the action and it all piles up. Shirou Arashi is my take on the OC that is going to be partnered with Ruby in this fic. When I was thinking up his personality, I could not get rid of the fact that he basically matched that of our good boi Shirou Emiya, including his talents with cooking. That, and I am not really good when it comes to Japanese names. He has his own plethora of unique Kekkei Genkei that you shall see down below.
Ruby Rose, Kekkei Genkei
-Sharingan (Holy Silver)
-Scorch Release: (Fire and Wind)
-Crystal Release: Unknown
Shirou Arashi, Kekkei Genkei
-Dragon Release: (Lighting, Fire, and Wind)
-Heaven Release: (Wind and Lightning)
-Star Release: (Lighting and Fire)
-Scorch Release: (Fire and Wind)
So as you may have noticed, all these chapters have been put up at once. This is what I have been working on for the whole month of April from the other stories. Unlike my other stories, this is a request from one Haxorous Knight, who discussed the specifics of the story with me through private messaging. I will post chapter five real soon and then work to finish The Sins' Return because I am at a point I need to finish a story to have more time on the others. For every other month, I will work on the next five chapters of the story, so you will have to be patient.
Up next is Chapter 5.
Stay in touch. Please, please leave a review.
