Time is Running Out

Steve was driving as fast as he could. Danny's time was running out. His friend had been hit by a stray bullet while they were hiking. He didn't know where the bullet came from and he didn't care. The wound was serious, Steve knew he could not wait for help. So he had taken Danny in his arms, he carried him to his car and started the car.

He parked the car in front the hospital's entrance and screamed for help while he took his friend back in his arms. The view of the bloody seat below him scared Steve. This feeling was accentuated by Danny's breathing, it was fading.

Doctors with a stretcher came to meet Steve. The Navy Seal placed his best friend on the stretcher and watched him disappear into the hospital's corridors. He took out his phone and called a few people.

Fifteen minutes later Chin, Kono, Rachel and Grace arrived. Their eyes widened in surprise and horror when they saw Steve. The soldier was covered with Danny's blood: his previously white shirt was completely red; his arms and his neck were also red; and the top of his pants was covered with blood too.

They all sat in the waiting room for a long anxious time.
