When Arizona was browsing different rentals, Sofia walked into the kitchen, "good morning mom," she said quietly and still half asleep. Arizona smiled and wished her a morning in return, then asked her, "I need ideas of what you would like for your birthday miss," Sofia shrugged, "I don't need anything, just having you here is enough," she answered. Arizona smiled with tears forming in her eyes, all she could think about was the fight she and Callie had. "Are you crying, mom?" Sofia asked. Arizona tried to conceal it, but not well enough. "Is everything okay with you and mama?" Sofia grew concerned. "I'd be lying if I said everything was fine, but don't worry, I'm sure everything will get worked out soon," Arizona answered as best she could. "I got to leave for school, love you mom," Sofia got up, hugged her mom, then left. Arizona picked her phone up again, opened her messages and sent one to Callie, "Look, Sofia's birthday is coming up, we need to discuss what we are doing for her."

A couple of hours go by, and still no reply from Callie. Arizona is angry at this point, she picks up her phone to call Callie, but before she could hit the dial, Callie walked into the house. "Where the hell have you been, why didn't you answer any of my messages?" Arizona asked angrily. "I needed time," Callie answered quietly. Arizona stood and waited to see if Callie had anything else to add, but that was it. Callie walked into the kitchen and poured a glass of wine, "that's it, you needed time?" Arizona asked with deep agitation. "What more do you expect me to say right now?" Callie replied with frustration. "I expected you to at least talk about your own daughter's birthday," Arizona retorted. "I understand everything you worked hard on is gone, it sucks, I know, but your family is still here, and we're trying to help you," Arizona added. "I know!" Callie yelled with tears streaming down her face, "it just feels like life has been against us ever since we reconnected, one thing after another," Callie continued. They stood in silence for a few minutes, trying to collect their thoughts. "Well, what should we do then?" Arizona finally spoke up. "I honestly don't know right now," Callie replied. After hearing that, Arizona backed up a little and her eyes began to tear up. "Maybe we should live separately for a while then," she replied quietly. Nothing more was said between the two for the rest of the night. Arizona packed a bag and left to stay in a hotel.

An hour or so goes by, and Sofia notices her mom isn't home and her car is gone, "mama, where is mom?" she asked Callie. Callie patted the cushion next to her and asked Sofia to sit, and she explained that the fire at work has caused a lot of stress. "I hope you two can sort things out, I love having both of you here," Sofia quietly said back. Callie looked at her and could feel her heart melt. "Let's enjoy some mama and Sofia time, what shall we have for dinner tonight?" Callie asked, trying to sound upbeat.
