As I arrive at the Temple of the Wolf I hear Kaeya say, "You've arrived. Come closer, do you smell that?"
"It's the smell of burnt pyro slimes," I say.
"Something must have happened in the temple. I imagine there will be slimes, hillichurls, and whatever else is giving Stormterror extra power. It's going to be lively indeed!"
"It's going to be dangerous, isn't it?"
"You don't have to worry your pretty little heart about it. No, I don't think it's going to be dangerous at all."
"Darn, I was hoping for some danger."
Kaeya laughs. "You're quite the brave one aren't you?"
"Well, if you had as much experience as me you wouldn't be afraid of a lot of things."
"In your travels, I'm guessing you have encountered many things."
"Yes, I have. Why don't we head in?"
"This will be my first chance to fight alongside you. Do you think we'll make a good team?"
"Yeah. Come on," I say as we enter the temple.
As soon as we enter, Kaeya says, "Let me show you how the Knights of Favonius conquer our adversaries! If I'm not mistaken, the end of the temple should be up there." Kaeya points to an elevated area in the temple.
"How do you know?" Paimon asks.
Kaeya laughs. "Experience. That kind of experience is what you get after years of dealing with things like this for others."
We enter the room and jump down to where hillichurls are in a small bit of water. Kaeya shoots them with cryo, freezing them in place, and I summon wind, slicing the hillichurls up as I solidify the wind so it's like sharp blades.
"Traveler, if I'm not mistaken, it doesn't seem like you have a vision, so how is it you can channel elemental energy?"
"First of all, you can call me Cecilia. Secondly, I don't know I just woke up one day and I could. It has been strange," I say as we head into another room.
Some machines are shooting flames and blocking our path. Kaeya shoots them with cryo, stopping the flames for the time being. There's a wind current to our left and we head toward it. Kaeya and I both summon our wind gliders and glide up.
Once we reach the top, we glide onto the ledge and dissipate our wind gliders. There's a door and one of the cube devices. I walk over to the cube and place my hand on it, opening the door. The door opens to a room with multiple pyro slimes.
"Hey, Kaeya. Guess this is where we smelled the burnt pyro slimes."
"Indeed it is."
"There's a hydro amber! We can use this to put out the fire!" Paimon says.
"Good idea. That's some keen observation. We should get Jean to give you a title and make you a knight," Kaeya says and I laugh.
As we leave the room, we enter a hall with underwater spikes.
"How are you two going to get across? You can't swim through there! Paimon doesn't have to worry since Paimon can float but you two can't!"
"I can freeze the water and walk across," Kaeya says.
"So, ice bridging?"
"Yes."
"Cool. Let's just hope I don't slip and fall on my face."
Kaeya laughs as he freezes the water. After he gets across I go and when I get to the end, even though I'm trying my best not to fall, I slip. Kaeya grabs me before I can fall into the water and pulls me close.
"It seems you're falling for me."
I laugh. "I definitely am," I say, looking into his eyes.
"Paimon's still here you know!"
Kaeya and I quickly separate from each other's grasp.
"Try not to fall again."
"I'll try not to."
Kaeya keeps ice bridging and it goes without a hitch. When we get to the end of the hall, a door opens and it leads to a room with Stormterror's crystal.
"I'm going to break it," I say, summoning my scythe.
I run towards it and shatter the crystal in one fell swoop.
"Bravo!" Kaeya says clapping. "What a performance! You are, to my surprise, a well-trained knight."
"Ugh! I take offense! You didn't think I could fight?" I laugh. "I'm kidding."
"Well, the battles you fought were a sight to behold."
"It's not worth complimenting. You also fought well."
Kaeya laughs. "I see you already have to knightly virtue of modesty. Stories of your heroic deeds to save Mondstadt from destruction shall be known throughout the City of Freedom, well into the future. Please visit me at headquarters when you have time. I also know a lovely tavern, if that's more your thing."
"Sure. We should grab a drink together."
"This was quite rewarding wasn't it?" Kaeya asks.
"We've seized another temple from Stormterror's grasp!" Paimon says.
"I can take care of the rest here. You go take care of other things while I'm at it," Kaeya says.
"I know you can take care of this on your own but I'm curious as to if there's someone or a group behind the Stormterror thing."
"If you insist. Well, there was no way hillichurls could have organized this themselves. Not with their limited mental capacity."
"Do you think it's humans behind this?"
"I don't think so," Kaeya says as a hydro Abyss mage reveals himself to us.
"Gohus, Chiso Vonph," the Abyss mage says as he starts to summon hydro.
Fire comes from the door and then a guy with long red hair with a Claymore runs past us, grabbing the Abyss mage by the face and throwing him. He then runs to the Abyss mage, Claymore behind him, and jumps, swinging the Claymore above his head, bringing it down on the Abyss mage, but it blocks his attack with its staff. The force from the attack on the staff throws the Abyss mage against the wall, knocking the Abyss mage out. The guy's Claymore dissipates as he stops fighting.
"Knights of Favonius, always so inefficient," the red-haired guy says.
Kaeya claps, turning around to face the guy. "Agree to disagree, but your involvement made things a whole lot more interesting."
"Kaeya, do you know this guy?" I ask.
"This is Diluc owner of Angel's share."
"Nice to meet you Diluc. Those were some impressive moves."
"Who are you?" Diluc asks.
"Apologies. I am Cecilia and this is Paimon. We are travelers from afar."
"What does she have to do with the Knights of Favonius?" Diluc asks
"She's helping with the Stormterror problem."
"Well, my theory was correct Kaeya. There was someone or some group behind this."
"The Abyss is behind this. I better go report to Jean and you better head to the Temple of the Lion. Lisa is waiting there for you. I'm sorry to cut our chat short but we have to go," Kaeya says as we start to leave the temple.
