Chapter 7. Cult part 2
The villagers crept up the stairs to the fairy tail's wizard's rooms. They were holding rope, and wearing black robes. Each step they took had no sound. As soon as they got to the doors, they listened in. They heard nothing except soft breathing, giving them the impression that everyone inside was asleep. They opened the doors and walked in. Step by step they got beside the beds. The bodies were sleeping underneath. Slowly they slipped them off only to be startled when they saw their heads. They yanked the blankets back, revealing what laid there to be breathing stone figures.
Aldin was using a pair of earth made binoculars to look at them. He saw some of them yell out something about them escaping and to find them. He slid down from the tree he was on. "They found the dummies." Aldin wrote on his board.
"Good. Can I stop now?" Happy asked, a wind symbol on his forehead, his hands together.
"A few more minutes, friend. We don't want them to think we're watching," Dreck advised.
Happy groaned. "Using wind from far away is hard to do."
"I'll help," Wendy volunteered, getting behind Happy, placing her hands around his to boost his magic control.

"Let us go meet up with Kent before they find our trail," Dreck suggested.

They all headed to where Kent had marked for them to meet up on the paper he gave them. They made sure to stay hidden in the forest to not get detected. Nearly there, Natsu collapsed.
"Natsu!" Lucy exclaimed, rushing to his side.
"What happened!?" Laxus asked.
"Was there a trap waiting for us here?" Erza surveyed the area, on guard.
Happy, Wendy, and Laxus picked up something with their strong ears. It was the soft snoring of Natsu that was quickly getting louder.
"He didn't …" Happy grabbed Natsu's hand and opened up, revealing a clear wrapper. He sighed. "Idiot."
Lucy saw the wrapper and sighed. "Natsu...why?"

Natsu groaned then shot up. "Gah!" He got to his feet. "What happened!?"

They continued to the meeting point. They came across a shore near a large river where Kent stood in his robe and light armor. He waved at them. "Over here!" They all walked up to him. "I'm glad you came. This mean you trust me?"
"I wouldn't go that far. You're our only lead." Aldin wrote.
"Ah. A mute. I'm very sorry," Kent bowed, "I'm sure you would've had an amazing voice."

"Anyways," Erza got everyone back on track, "where here, now what?"
"Right. Through this river we can find an entrance to where the cult is. It was an old escape route but we should be able to enter through it."
"Won't they be guarding it?" Juvia asked.
Kent shook his head. "They hardly even go in that area."
"Where is this cult base anyway?" Carla asked.
"It's an old stronghold, big enough for a small army. It was last used maybe hundreds of years ago."
"Hm?" Laxus picked up Jose in the distance. "We should get going before they find us here. I can hear them getting closer."
Kent nodded and looked to Happy. "Can you use your earth element to make us a small boat? I couldn't bring one with me cause I wanted to avoid suspicion."
"Sure," Happy nodded. Before he could activate his earth element, Dreck placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Allow me," Dreck volunteered. He clapped his hands together before placing them on the ground. The earth around them shifted and morphed, pulling towards the water, mashing together and taking shape. It formed into a brown and black ship, with sails, a rudder, and a wheel. It looked like a pirate ship. It was a bit smaller than a regular midsize ship and floated on the water with ease.
Kent looked at it impressed. "Amazing! It even has actual sales! How did you do that!?"

"Explain on the go, let's hop on!" Happy told them.
They all got on the boat and Dreck made a motion with his hands. Part of the bottom rudder began to spin rapidly, moving the boat. "Which way do I go?" Dreck asked.
"Go up stream here," Kent pointed.
"Alright." Dreck moved to his pointing.
"Keep going this way and you'll start seeing some green rocks with yellow stripes. Follow those, they're mark's I left."
"Hm," Dreck nodded.
Kent turned to the others. "I'm sure you have some questions for me. Now would be the best time to ask."
"Ok, wh-" Natsu started.
Erza stopped him. "Seeing as though this is tied to Happy, why don't we have him ask questions first."
"I'm ok with that," Laxus agreed.
"Hm...ok obvious question first but...how come all the villagers are part of the cult but you're not?"
"Well...I guess the easiest way to say is that I'm fairly new here, but really it's cause them forcing me to join failed," Kent explained.

"They would decorate the insides of their homes with trinkets and statues, help spread the word of their god, acting as though it's their calling in your life, devoting nearly everything to him, and if you question it or call it a cult, that's when they take you in to be educated."
"You mean-"
"Those mints? Yes. They're given a heavy sedative and once you're knocked out they take you to their base, strap you up, and show you the errors of your thoughts, in other words, brainwashing."
"There a way to break free?" Happy asked.
"Yes. If we break the lacrima they use, that should make them come to their senses."

"How do we get in?" Erza asked.
"Juvia could push back the steam," Gray suggested.
"I can try," Juvia approached until Kent stopped him.
"In order to make this only an escape route there are some old sensors that are used to detect water flow. If anything affects it an alarm goes off," Kent explained.
"So are we supposed to just swim up it?" Natsu thought.
"You'd drown before you'd make it. There is a way but it'll be tricky to make," Kent turned to Juvia, "your a water mage, yes?"
Juvia nodded. "Yes."
"Then perhaps you and Happy can combine your efforts with this one. What we need done is a water tunnel but the outside has to be moving, unchanged, while the inside is still, then the ice Mage can freeze its surface so we can climb in. Think you can do that?"
Juvia and Happy looked at each other and nodded. "We can try," Happy said.

Juvia, Touka, and Happy approached the entrance. Happy activated his water element and Touka got in front of him, backing up against him. They all reached out and focused.
"Juvia, you focus on the outside, making sure we dont disturb the flow. Happy-sama and I will work on parting the waters inside."

"This could be where the main room where the leaders of this base are. It's a few levels up, and that wouldn't be a problem if not for the fact that there will be cult members in the way."
"Hold on," Dreck put his hand on the wall and closed his eyes, "Hmmm...there about twelve people on the way there, no doubt they're members of the cult."
"You see any way to sneak past them?"
"A few, yes, but some are in spaces where it'll be impossible to sneak our way by."
"What about this path?" He dragged his finger on the other side of the map, pointing to an alternate path to the destination.
"Hm...Same issue and a few more members."
"I see, we'll have to take them out but silently. It'd be best if we didn't raise any alarms or suspicion until we've taken out that detector. After that lets take out the lacrima that's brainwashing the villagers, with both gone, not only will Happy be able to join, but their numbers will drop, leaving less to go after him."
"Hear that Natsu? Stealthily. Meaning shut up," Laxus told him.

"A-anyways, we should split into groups of two. Dreck, can you make more of those communication devices."
Dreck nodded and placed his hand on the ground, pulling from the ground. He opened his hand to reveal a device for everyone. "It's on a different frequency than the one to Happy's. Erza snapped out of it. "O-oh! Yes, sorry!" She put away the communicator and cleared her throat. "I suggest we break into groups. I'll be with Natsu, Lucy, Laxus, and Aldin. We both take a path and contact the other if there's trouble or if we've reached it first."
"I agree with this plan. Plus," Kent looked at Dreck, ''I wish to know more about these devices you made, and that boat."
"I'll be sure to tell you all about it," Dreck smiled.
"Alright, let's move!" Erza announced. They all moved up the stairs and parted ways, making sure to stay hidden.

"Yes?"

"Well, why don't we just ask them?" The first male voice said. "A few of them are right outside that door after all."
Erza, Natsu, Lucy, Aldin, and Laxus all froze.
"Come on in, Guests. We got tea," The female said nicely.
They hesitated but entered anyway, their guards up and themselves cautious. inside the room was a blue eyed, long haired white haired lady with a silver skirt and shirt on with a sash that had a gold medal on it. She held a cup of tea and looked to be Erza's age. Behind her was a tall buff man with black short hair, bronze shoulder pads, black jeans, and a velvet shirt. He too had a sash with a golf medal. Beside the man was an average height male with white curly hair, glasses, and black eyes. He wore a brown dress shirt and brown slacks. Just like the other two, he had a sash with a golden medal.
In the middle of the room was a table that they surrounded that had a large pedestal with three blue gems of the same type as the one used by the assailants in the forest of their previous quest.
The three of them smiled at the Fairy tail wizards and co. "Welcome." They all greeted.
