A support student cries out, "Take cover!" Immediately, all but two of the students in the room dive under their work desks. Everyone knows what's happening. The two mad geniuses of the class are about to test their latest invention. After only a week, the class had already learned to fear anything those two made, especially if it was done cooperatively.

Making sure there's an adequate battery nearby, Mei steps back and gives her partner a thumbs up, "We're ready!" Cackling in a manner some might describe as mad, Arashi unsheathes their latest invention.

While appearing to be an ordinary Japanese straight sword at an ordinary glance, closer inspection would reveal that the blade in question had undergone several modifications. Assuming the Chūdan-no-kamae stance, Arashi faces his target, a simple wooden board, and activates the creation. Drawing in energy from the nearby car battery, Arashi sends a current through the hilt of the sword, causing plasma to arc through the containing magnetic field along the edge of the blade.

Filming the scene with a camera she herself had constructed, Mei gives Arashi a thumbs-up while shouting over the crackling energy in the air, "Prototype Laser Sword test one is a go! Give it all you've got Mochi!"

Stepping forward, Arashi gives the target a simple but powerful slash. The blade shears right through the wooden board, leaving a steady burn along the cut. As Arashi cuts the power to the sword, and sends the residual electricity in his body through a special grounding point Power Loader had constructed for him, he moves forward to take note of the target's condition, and finds something that amazes him.

The board, both pieces of it, are covered front and back with Lichtenberg Figures. Arashi chuckles, "We might need to lower the output, the sword managed to overwhelm the insulator without any weakening. If we intend to have this used as a non-lethal weapon, we can't in good conscience send it out like this."

Skipping on over, Mei giggles, "Well of course, that's why it's only a prototype! We've made our first major success with this baby, and that's what matters at the moment! We can work on the upgrades later, for now, why don't we get back to the cannon?"

Chuckling, Arashi stands and returns the sword to it's sheath, "You really love the cannon, don't you?" Mei nods seriously, "Of course! As a wise man once said, bitches love cannons!" Arashi chuckles, "Pretty sure that was Alucard in Hellsing Abridged, but I guess you're right."

As they go to work on their next project, the rest of the students slowly come out of their hiding places, relieved there wasn't an explosion this time. Kneeling down, Power Loader clasps his hands and looks skyward, 'Thank you gods, but please, keep smiling down on us. I don't need to bring the school more lawsuits than it already gets because of Aizawa.'

A/N: I've decided that because of the nature of this fic, most of the chapters will be shorter than what I usually write. Have fun with your short bursts of chaos.
