I have no idea how long it has been since I wrote and I sincerely apologize. I'm currently away from home on training, and have a ton more time to write so expect some updates for this fic, Paradise, and Inside her Mind. :)

After their shift was over, Santana and Brittany closed up the ambulance and walked together to the parking lot. It was sort of a long shift, a couple small calls after the fire. Usually Lima wasn't that busy but today was something different.

"What's the plans tonight Pierce? You tryna get a beer or something since we're off tomorrow?" Brittany was fumbling through her backpack for her keys when Santana grabbed her hand to get her attention. "Hey. You okay?"

Brittany never liked to admit when she was tired, and today was one of those nights. But, an offer like this was something she didn't want to pass up.

"Yeah I'm okay. I'm down for whatever. Is Quinn coming too?"

"That's automatic." She found her keys and looked back at Santana. She had a different kind of glow in her eyes now, kind of like a child. And Britt could tell that she was excited. "Are you okay?" She chuckled a little.

"Oh yeah of course." A smile began to grow on Santana's face. "I'm just, excited."

"Meet me at Quinn's then?" Santana turned to Brittany and kissed her cheek.

"I'll see you there."

It was around 8 pm now and Brittany was just putting the finishing touches on her makeup. It had been a while since she had done anything and she wanted to make sure she looked decent. As she walked towards out of her room, she looked across the hall at Quinn who was in her room figuring out what to wear, which had been going in since about 6:30 that night. She could never figure out what to wear even if her life depended on it.

The front door opened, and Santana walked in. She was wearing ripped jeans, a RVCA shirt with a backwards trucker hat. Brittany had just walked out of the kitchen with a beer when her eyes caught Santana's. Her eyes danced from her feet to her head. Santana made a casual outfit seem so effortlessly sexy and it just wasn't fair.

"I mean, you gonna close your mouth anytime soon?" Brittany blushed. She didn't even know her jaw dropped.

"Shut up." She said through her teeth. She turned around before Santana could catch her blushing.

Santana ran up behind her and grabbed her by the waist. Startled, Brittany jumped a little. The faintest hint of Crown Apple lingered on Santana's breath as she brought her mouth closer to Brittany's neck.

"You look good as fuck. Making me look all under dressed and shit."

Brittany turned and her eyes met Santana's. Her lips inched closer to the beautiful brunette when they were interrupted by a cough coming from across the kitchen.

"Save that shit for later guys." Quinn laughed, as she walked into the fridge to get herself a beer. Stella Artois had been their choice for the past couple of weeks, and it started to grow on Brittany. She had never been much of a beer drinker but one night she decided to try it and she was hooked. It wasn't too harsh, which basically explains all of her past experiences with beer.

Santana placed a kiss on Brittany's lips regardless and turned to Quinn and rolled her eyes. "You pushed this don't forget."

"Excuse me I suggested it. You acted."

Brittany started laughing because Santana was at a loss for words.

After talking and pre-gaming for a little while, they decided to head down to the local bar. It was a little mom and pop owned pub, and it was where a majority of the fire house would go to have drinks.

When they walked into the bar they saw a bunch of the guys sitting in the corner about to take a round of shots.

"Ayyyy! San. Quinn. Britt. Over here." Artie was motioning them over. "Jan, add 3 more shots to my tab please. These lovely ladies need it."

The girls sat down with the rest of the guys and when the shots came over, Britt sniffed it and realized it was patron. And her and Patron? Didn't really mix. But it was too late now, and within seconds they were cheering and throwing the shot back.

"Ohh shiiiit this is your weakness isn't it." Quinn was looking at Brittany as she licked the salt off the rim of her glass. "You gonna get it in tonight guarantee."

"Shut up man." Brittany started laughing. "I'm gonna let her make the first move."

"BET." Santana was giving her a side look as she threw back another shot with Artie. "We'll see who's making the first move tonight."

Quinn nudged Brittany, as she smirked. "This is gonna be a fun night."

A few hours later, and a countless amount of shots taken; the crew was finally ready to head home. Santana was a singing drunk, and Brittany couldn't believe how good she was at singing.

"That was, unexpected." Brittany said as she walked up to Santana who was sitting at the bar. Tennessee Rain was one of her favorite songs, and to hear Santana sing it so effortlessly was even more of a turn on for her.

"It was nothing, I always loved singing, so when we come to the bar I always take the chance to get the microphone."

"Well.. I might be breaking first, especially when you sound that good."

Brittany threw Santana a wink as she walked back over to where Quinn was sitting with the boys.

Quinn had stopped drinking two hours prior to leaving so that she could drive them home. Santana and Brittany were reasonably drunk, and were holding on to each other to get to the car.

With no surprise to Quinn, they both got into the backseat. It was about a ten minute ride back to the house and Brittany couldn't wait to take the makeup off of her face. Santana was having a really hard time keeping her hands off of Brittany as well, and she could just tell that Santana was going to break and make the first move.

Once they pulled in the driveway, the girls all got out and headed inside. Santana went into Britt's room to change, while Quinn and Brittany headed to the bathroom to take their makeup off.

"Q?"

"Yeah?" Quinn was looking in the bathroom closet for her makeup remover. "What's up?"

"I don't wanna mess up with her. I haven't told her everything yet. I haven't really talked about the Army stuff and what happened before I got here and I'm scared that if I do, she won't want to be with me anymore."

Quinn turned to Brittany so they could make eye contact. "You aren't gonna mess it up. She's really understanding. Just give her a chance. I promise it's gonna be okay."

Brittany was just uneasy about it all. Most people look at her like she's crazy. It was something that she hated, and something that she hated dealing with. Most days, she wished that it would just all go away.

She sighed, as she wiped her face with a towel. Brittany opened the bathroom door, and to her surprise Santana was standing in the hallway.

"Did you.." Brittany asked as she pointed back at the bathroom. "Hear?"

Quinn slowly closed the door, not wanting to make it awkward with her standing there.

"Yeah. I didn't mean to," Santana shrugged. "But I couldn't not listen either."

"I don't want you to think any less of me because of the things I have to deal with inside my head." Santana was walking up to her now. "I hate it."

"To me, you're worth it okay." She grabbed onto Brittany's hand and they interlocked fingers. Santana got closer to Brittany's ear and whispered, "And by the way, I think you're gonna win tonight. There's no way I can resist you."

There was so much more Brittany had to learn about Santana. But with how understanding she already us, it caught her by surprise. It was unexpected, but something she also had to get used to.

A smirk appeared on Santana's face as Brittany willingly followed her into her room and shut the door.
