Disclaimer: I don't own Ben 10 or Young Justice
Welcome to Happy Harbor
"Recognize Robin B02, Kid Flash B03."
Robin and Kid flash, who are better known as Dick Greyson and Wally West, teleported into the main hall of Mount Justice wearing their civilian clothes consisting of Wally's own yellow track-suit and bleak grey sweater weather for Dick. They immediately noticed Kaldur, M'gaan, Superboy, whom hadn't decided on a civilian name yet, and Ben all gathered around a massive Holoscreen in the center of the Cave's Holodeck tracking Red Tornado's approach to the secret mountain compound. As the two caught sight of the four heroes standing in wait, they shared a brief look of expectancy before running over to greet them.
"Hey! Did you ask yet?" Wally exclaimed with excitement as the heroes turned to face them approaching.
"He's arriving as we speak," Kaldur responded as the speedster along with boy wonder raced to the entrance to greet the aerokinetic android personally; this caused Kaldur and Superboy to roll their eyes in a mundane fashion at the lack of maturity in the two, they casually jogged after them leaving Ben and M'gann behind to stroll casually along.
"So, how are you adjusting to the cave and the team?" Ben asked as they walked side by side to the entrance as it slowly opened for the team.
"You mean, how am I adjusting to a new planet, species, and culture?" M'gaan responded with a short giggle looking over to meet the emerald iris' of Ben who laughed along with her at the irony.
"Trust me; I've dealt with my fair share of foreign worlds, including this one." Ben mentioned as she looked back to him, "You'll fit in just fine around here."
"Hard to tell so soon I guess; I've only been on this planet for a little over a week now so I guess I'm just trying to fit in at this point," M'gaan looked down and rubbed her arm remembering how hard it was on Mars before she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"I don't know what the rest of the world will bring but, you should know you're among friends. No one will judge you here," Ben spoke with sympathy before looking over to Red Tornado as he approached dispersing the wind-funnel that levitated him down slowly. Ben Tennyson being the unfocused teen that he was, walked away completely oblivious to the blush apparent on the Martian girls green-cheeks.
As Red Tornado landed the entire team approached him at once, practically huddling around the android, "Greetings, is there a reason you intercepted me outside of the cave?" His monotone voice showed a slight hint of confusion but no other sign of emotion whatsoever as he peered over the group of teenagers.
"We were hoping you had a mission for us," Ben finally spoke up as no one else seemed able to respond.
"Mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility; I am here merely to supervise you," he focused his attention elsewhere promptly as the teens grew distressed expressions.
"But it's been over a week and-" Dick began before Red Tornado cut him off placing his hand in the air waving them to be silent.
"You will be tested soon enough; for the time being simply enjoy each other's company."
"This team is not a social club," Kaldur stated boldly as Red Tornado simply turned his head never dropping his stoic robotic expression.
"No, but I am told that social activity is a good team building exercise. Perhaps you can keep busy by familiarizing yourselves with the cave," Red Tornado walked away without another word obviously disinterested.
"Does he think we're falling for this?" Dick exclaimed throwing his hands up.
"Oh, I'll find out!" M'gaan responded happily by placing two hands to her temples. She focused on Red Tornado's fleeing mind but couldn't get a fix on anything, she soon realized why that was.
"I'm sorry, I forgot he's a machine; inorganic brain so I can't read his thoughts," M'gaan said defeated lowering her arms.
"Good effort, in the meantime, why don't we take a tour of the cave?" Ben suggested shrugging his shoulders as they gave him confused looks, "What? I know i dont know most of the rooms in this place, could be handy?"
"Well, Superboy, Ben, and I live here so, why not let us be your tour guides?" The Martian girl was giddy to assist as she clapped her hands together waiting for responses from the half of the team that didn't take residence in the cave.
Everyone turned to Ben and Superboy for some sort of approval or protest, "Don't look at us," The Kryptonian clone said crossing his arms and looking away.
"We won't, a private tour sounds much better," Wally said getting closer to M'gaan who smiled awkwardly not reciprocating his obvious cocky advances.
"She never said private," Ben remarked as he cleared his throat and Dick tapped Wally upside the head lightly, "Team building, we'll all go."
"Ok, then I'll be the tour guide!" M'gaan clapped her hands excitedly as she walked back towards the entrance. "This is the front door," she said as she walked through and inside the cave where they observed the common area complete with a big-screen TV, fully stocked kitchen, couches and recliners, and a ping-pong table in the far corner.
They stepped through the hall glancing around as they followed M'gaan's lead, "This is the training area," she waved her hand towards the Holoring in the center of an open room; the ring was fully automated with data on each member and multiple training simulation capabilities.
As they approached the hall; she motioned towards the left corner which faced the holoring; "And these are the Zeta-Tube teleporters, they recognize any hero that walks through and keeps the cave nearly in accessible to anyone else!" and she further motioned behind her to the dimly-lit hall, "And down there are the bedrooms and bathrooms for the guests and residence."
After showing the team nearly every part of the cave that mattered, M'gaan made her way to the back of the cave, "This would be the back door," she announced as they walked out of the cave and onto a platform that was used when vehicles entered and exited the facility. "The cave is actually the entire mountain," she threw her hands up and did a short spin as they all looked up at the tall mountain barely blocking the sun above them.
"It was hollowed out and reinforced by Superman and Green Lantern in the early days of the league," Wally mentioned as they walked towards the entrance and back inside. Stopping at a short-set of steps that led into the Grotto which held small pools of water and rock formations.
Superboy was curious and decided to be productive asking questions, "Why abandon it for the Hall of Justice, anyways?"
"The caves secret location was compromised by The Joker and others," Aqualad answered quickly having read up on the League history before returning to the surface world.
"So they traded it in for a tourist trap? Yea that makes sense," Superboy scoffed sarcastically.
"Obviously it was temporary until the Watchtower was finished, then if any villains attacked the hall. It wouldn't matter and they could be there in an instant via Zeta-Tubes," Ben concluded as he sniffed the air quickly losing his train of thought, "Why do I smell smoke?"
"Oh, my cookies!" M'gaan squealed as she floated into the air and towards the kitchen at moderatly quick speeds.
As everyone else arrived they were greeted with a silver plate of charred cookies levitating out of the oven and onto the counter-top in front of them; M'gaan sighed, "I was trying out Grandma Jones' recipe from episode seventeen of… never mind."
Ben put a hand on her shoulder and smiled, "I'm sure they would've tasted great; kid-mouth doesn't seem to mind," Ben jabbed his thumb over his shoulder to Wally who was currently shoving a blackend-burnt cookie into his mouth.
Wally continued to chew until he realized that everyone was staring, at which point he stopped and explained, "What? I have a serious metabolism!"
"I'll make more?" M'gaan said uncertain if he was serious.
"It was sweet of you to make any," Kaldur said with a generous smile across his face, she felt so welcome by them all, nothing could ruin this moment as the alien-girl smiled so bright she could light up a city by herself, "Thanks, Aqualad!"
"Please, we are off duty, call me Kaldur'ahm or better yet, my good friends call me Kaldur," he turned to face the rest of the group expecting them to follow suit.
"And I'm Wally," The speedster explained as he shoved another cookie into his mouth; "See, I already trust you with my secret ID, unlike Mr. Dark Glasses over there; Batman's forbidden boy wonder from telling anyone his real name."
"Well, my names no secret, its M'gaan M'orse, but just M'gaan works!" She waved her hands in the air for emphasis.
Superboy sighed lightly under his breath and turned to leave the room in silence; on his way out he felt a small nudge in his mind, like something had simply nuzzled it way in gently.
'Don't worry Superboy; we'll get you an Earth name too.'
Superboy narrowed his eyes with rage and turned to the source of the voice obviously coming from none other than M'gaan herself, "Get out of my head!" he shouted with anger.
'What's wrong?' She reached into everyone's minds and spoke simultaneously to them all, 'Everybody on Mars communicates telepathically.'
"M'gaan stop!" Kaldur asserted loudly whilst gripping his right temple with minor pain, "Here your powers are an extreme invasion of privacy and not fully compatible."
"Plus, Cadmus' psychic G-Gnomes left a bad taste in his brain," Wally recited looking over to Superboy gripping the door-frame warping the metal with his bare-hands.
"I didn't mean to-"
"Just stay out of my HEAD!" Superboy spoke with a growl and stomped out of the room in a huff.
Tension followed quickly as she tried desperately to think of something to break said tension, "Oh, I know what we can do!" M'gaan suddenly spoke up after several seconds of silence, "Follow me!" everyone simply shrugged and moved to follow except Superboy who had chosen to sit on the couch.
Ben saw this and stayed behind for a moment, "You coming?" He asked with a coy smirk.
Ben watched as Superboy grunted loudly and left his place watching the blank TV screen and followed his team-mates into the hall towards the hangar bay. They approached the metal hangar doors and went wide eyed as the doors split slowly revealing a large crimson-red ship the size of a small house laying before them.
"It's my Martian Bio-Ship," M'gaan said as they walked into the hangar where the giant red sphere shaped ship laid auspiciously.
"Cute, not very aerodynamic but, cute," Wally said as M'gaan chuckled slightly at his lack of knowledge on Martian technology.
"It's at rest silly; here, I'll wake it," M'gaan waved her hand in the air causing the sphere to shift and melt growing wings and even a hatch, which opened with only another gesture of the Martian teens hand. "You guys coming?" She asked grabbing hold of the hatch and hopping inside.
Wide eyes and loose jaws fit the description of the groups reaction to the interior of the ship; they slowly filed in to the ship one by one and they were surprised with how roomy it was. It was an empty room with windows on the interior hull. Suddenly chairs melted up from the floor along with a control console in front of the main chair slightly larger than the others. As they sat, flesh like straps melted around their torso as seat-belts. "Cool," Wally said as he let the straps form around him.
"Red Tornado, please open the bay doors;" as the Android received her request the large bay-doors opened revealing an ocean-size view, M'gaan slowly accelerated forwards before taking off at nearly the speed of sound.
"Hey, how about showing us some Martian shape shifting?" Dick asked as M'gaan smiled and rose from her seat.
"Sure, I haven't fully mastered it yet but," She looked over at Ben before shifting into a female version of him with the jacket and jeans to match her green-eyes and short brown hair. Then she shifted into a female version of Robin in full uniform spite Dick only being civilian clothes.
"Impressive but, you're not going to fool anyone with those," Ben pointed out as M'gaan reverted to her usual look as her clothes and skin returned to normal.
"Mimicking boys is a lot harder," she sat down slightly flustered, the male genitalia still alluded her.
"And your clothes?" Kaldur asked curiously.
"They're organic, like the ship, they respond to my mental commands!"
"As long as they're the only ones," Superboy mumbled spitefully causing M'gaan to frown slightly feeling like a child who broke rules she didn't even know existed.
Wally attempted to break the tension quickly before things got dramatic, "Can you do that ghosting through walls thing that Manhunter does?" As he asked to lighten the mood.
"Density shifting? No, that's way too advanced for me," M'gaan looked down at her feet before Dick chimed in to comfort her.
"Dont worry about it; Flash can vibrate his molecules strait through a solid objects, when Wally tries it? Bloody nose!"
"Dude!"
"Here's something I can do!" as her mental command was sent via telepathic link, the entire external shell of the Bio-Ship began melting with its surroundings, dissapearing completely into the sky almost entirely invisible, "Camouflage mode!"
"Red Tornado to Miss Martian; an emergency alert has been triggered at the Happy Harbor Power Plant. I suggest you investigate, covertly, I'm sending coordinates to your Bio-Ship now," The quick connection to Red Tornado was cut as latitude and longitude coordinates were sent to the center console in front of the Martian pilot.
"Received, adjusting course," the Bio-Ship made a quick loop and turned back towards the way they came entering Happy Harbor airspace.
"Let's just find the cause of the alert and get out of there as quick as we can, okay?" Superboy grunted in distaste looking out the window to avoid eye contact with anyone.
"I don't think that's gonna be a problem," Ben said as he pointed out the left hull-window where a massive F-4 Tornado was headed towards the ship at high-speeds. It's wind power ripped cars and trees off the ground without effort launching them as projectiles at the Bio-Ship; it dodged but, the air pressure and wind power caught the ship pulling them to the ground causing emergency lights to flash. The Bio-Ship carved a trench in the dirt with its landing as the teens within braced for impact.
Everything went quiet as they held their heads in distress, "Any landing you can walk away from, am I right?" Ben muttered in a coy manner.
The heroes immediately jumped out of the organic exit to face the giant cyclone in front of them, still tearing through the parking lot of the power planet.
"Robin, are tornadoes a common occurrence in New England?" Aqualad asked but looked around to find that Robin was already gone and running towards the factory alone leaving them with an echoing chuckle, "Robin?"
The others immediately ran after him to find a broken door handle and an empty facility; suddenly, they felt a gust of wind as Dick was thrown against the wall juxtaposed to them by something powerful. That something was a giant man over seven feet tall wearing some sort of red and blue battle-suit with a single tattered scarf tied around its neck. Neon blue glowing tubes extended from the back of the suit and into its forearms and his eyes were a sinister glowing blue.
"Who's your new friend?" Superboy asked before cracking his knuckles and neck and looking back at his team mate.
Dick got to his feet slowly holding his lower-back for a moment before arching it releasing a cracking sound that soothed its tension; "Didn't catch his name but, he plays rough!"
Superboy leapt off the ground aiming a fist for the androids face, the armored man dodged left leaving the Kryptonian clone to slam his fist into the concrete; he turned to continue his barrage but was hit with a quick stream of air throwing him into the wall as a pile of bricks and metal pipes crashed down n top of him from the impact.
Ben immediately reached for his Ultimatrix and squeezed the dial scrolling through holograms, "We know how to play rough too!" he slammed the dial on the hologram of his choice and after the signature green glow faded a hulking, broad-shouldered alien covered in natural, yellow armor plating on his back took the place of Ben. His body was mostly white, with black on his upper half and glowing emerald eyes.
"Cannonbolt!" the turtle-like alien's voice was deep and bellowed through the power-plant.
The armored villain was surprised at this development to say the least but, didn't allow it to rattle him; "My apologies, you may call me, Mr. Twister." Twister summoned twin tornadoes from the wrists of his gauntlets slamming into Superboy and knocking him across the room tumbling across the floor with ease.
"Listen we dont have to fight! We can have a competitive game of pinball instead!" Cannonbolt rolled into a spherical armored ball the size of a small car and began spinning on the ground before lunching himself across the room missing Mr. Twister entirely.
"How absolutely interesting; perhaps work on your aim before attempting to-" Twister was shocked by Cannonbolt ricocheting off the opposite wall and hitting him in the back knocking him across the ground rolling to a stop on his hands and knees.
The alien bowling ball stopped and uncurled himself and chuckled, "You were saying?"
"You require traction to move quickly, do you not?" Twister created an updraft, lifting Cannonbolt off the ground and spun him through the air into a metal support pillar face-first, slowly sliding to the ground in pain.
Wally shared a quick look with Kaldur and M'gaan before pulling a pair of goggles out of his pocket and slipping them on over his eyes; he ran at the speed of sound towards Twister whom simply watched as the speedster circled around him. The armored villain chuckled as Wally came in with the momentum of his run drop kicking him, alas; it proved absolutely useless and Wally dropped to the ground at Twisters feet. "Pathetic," he lifted Wally into the air with his elemental prowess, he spun him at super-speeds and flung him through the factory wall and into the parking-lot.
Twister wasted no time in sending a giant gust of pressurized wind at the remaining enemies Aqualad and Miss Martian whom were knocked off their feet and pinned to the wall behind them struggling to move against the force of the air. Suddenly, a bright flash of green illuminated the factory as a giant tiger-like creature with orange fur and black stripes busted through the wall and began charging at Mr. Twister on all fours.
"Let me tell ya something, Mister Twister, Rath doesn't like being blown away by his enemies! Now Rath his gonna blow you away! One way or another!" Rath jumped at Twister with a single sharp claw extending from his knuckles but, he was caught by a wind funnel and sent into the air hitting the ceiling of the facility. His body peeled off the concrete ceiling anjd he began his several story drop, "Oh! Now, you're using gravity against Rath? Give up gravity! You're no match for Rath!" The Appoplexian shouted until he landed face-first on the cement digging a hole in the shape of his body.
"Is this what I'm greeted with? Children and a half-wit shape shifter? I was prepared to fight a real super hero;" Mr. Twister gloated as Dick was the last one standing with an explosive bird-a-rang clenched in each of his hands behind his back.
"We're not children!" Dick yelled as he threw the projectiles which Twister deflected easily with only a flick of his finger sending a gust of wind knocking them to the ground exploding with no contact.
"Objectively, you are," Twister turned without even knocking out Robin, "Without supervision, I find your presence here disturbing and a waste of my time."
"Well, we hate to see you disturbed but, let's see if you're more turbed once we kick your can!"
Twister chuckled as Rath emerged from his self-made man-crater, "Let me tell you something Rath-shaped hole! Rath will destroy you! Just as soon as Rath takes care of Misses Twister!" Rath slapped the symbol on his chest causing a bright glow to explode catching Twister's attention. When it faded a giant fish-like creature appeared with the trademark glowing green eyes and Ultimatrix symbol on his chest. "Ripjaws? Now is not the time for a classic!"
"A walking sushi-platter? Another waste of-"
"Do you ever shut up?" Superboy jumped at Twister who merely used a compartmentalized-twister from his wrist to blow him back again this time into the ceiling barely catching himself on a support-pillar. He shook his head and jumped off his high ground using the free fall to take the distracted villain off guard; Miss Martian lifted a two large steel beams into the air on either side of her with her telekinesis. Her eyes illuminated bright green and she launched them at her enemy, however; he used his air pressure to spin them around and bash Superboy in the face knocking him to the ground in a heap. The floating M'gaan put a hand over her mouth and turned back to Twister who used an air-funnel to suck her down to the ground; he dropped the steel beams on top of her, pinning her to the ground.
Kaldur and Dick ran at him but only for a moment as they were quickly flung into the air and clashed into one another falling to the ground and rolling onto their sides in pain.
Ripjaws used their defeat as a distraction to jump from above and land on top of Twister's back attempting to take a bit out of his armor but, before he could tighten his jaws around the metal he was grabbed by the torso by a mechanical-arm that tossed him over head into the steel beams that pinned M'gaan. A green light shun from Ripjaws revealing Ben once again reverted into his human form.
"Oh yes, that was quite turbing, indeed," Twister turned back around and stepped out of the hole he'd made in the wall leading to the parking lot. Wally sat up from his position on the ground next to a toppled SUV outside, as he got to his feet finally, he noticed Mr. Twister leaving the scene of the battle. He sped in front of Twister and stood in his path with his fists up, "What did you do to my team?"
"Embarrassed them, largely," Twister created a miniature tornado around Wally picking him up and sending him towards the outer wall of the factory, just before he made contact he was suddenly stopped by an outside invisible force.
"I got you, Wally," M'gaan announced with her hand in the air gently placing him down on the grass with her telekinetic abilities.
"I was sure you would know your own limitations!" Twister yelled as he rose into the air slowly using the rising air pressure to levitate.
"What do you want?!" Ben shouted in anger as he became more frustrated with every alien that failed against mechanical menace.
"Isn't it obvious?" Twister shouted sounding dumbfounded that the teens hadn't realized it yet, "I'm waiting for a real hero. And I've been disappointed as of yet."
"Read his mind, find a weakness," Ben turned to M'gaan who looked confused and nervous, raising pleading hands.
"I thought I wasn't supposed to do that?"
"It's okay to do to the bad guys! Hurry!" Dick shouted as M'gaan nodded in temporary understanding and looked back over to Mr. Twister, focusing her mental prowess on his mind beneath the suit; attempting to search it for information but, being surprised when she felt a familiar lack of thought.
"Nothing. I'm getting nothing!" she thought for a moment before bopping her own forehead, "Hello Megan, Mr. Twister is Red Tornado in disguise, he's inorganic, an android; and how many androids do you know that can generate tornadoes and control wind?"
"Red Tornado sent us here!" Kaldur announced as he began putting the pieces together; Ben chimed in with even more connections.
"After saying we would be tested shortly!"
"This game? so over," Wally said crossing his arms before walking over to where Twister was floating awaiting their next move.
"We know who you are and what you want," Superboy shouted at the top of his lungs.
"So let's end this," Kaldur added lowering his guard as did everyone else, being fed up with tests from the League.
"Fine, consider it ended," Mr. Twister reeled back and unleashed two twin cyclones into the air causing a massive storm cloud to generate above him forming thunder claps and lighting flashes above him.
"Impressive show, but we will not indulge you; we will not engage!" Kaldur shouted pointing at the hero-in-disguise.
Suddenly lighting began to crackle in-between Twisters palms as the energy grew brighter and more chaotic. "Uh, can Red Tornado do that?" Wally asked in confusion as he raised his goggles to witness the display of power.
"You think I'm Tornado? Ironic," Twister sent a bolt of powerful lightning into the ground in front of the heroes causing an explosion and knocking them backwards. Superboy ripped his tattered jacket off revealing his black and red t-shirt; he roared and jumped into the air only to be struck by lightning in the chest sending him towards the ground in agonizing pain that he wasn't expecting.
Ben squeezed the dial of his Ultimatrix without looking at who was selected, slapping the Ultimatrix and allowing the genetic DNA altering energy to cross his body in seconds. As the green illumination faded, Diamondhead stepped out of the glow and onto the battle field as Twister sent lightning towards him; he crossed his arms in defense and his crystalline-structure absorbed the lightning turning it into his own biological-energy in the form of rainbow-like discharge; He smiled and sent a bolt of his own up at Mr. Twister who dodged appropriately.
"That's impressive; I suppose one of you has to be," he sent a enormous cyclone that picked up the crystal crusader and launched him into the air where he made eye-contact with Mr. Twister, the android sent a pulse of pressurized air into his chest pushing him into the ground from two-hundred feet up. A green flash from the smokey crater signified Ben's defeat as he had transformed back to normal.
M'gaan realized everyone was down and that they couldn't win now but, they could at least survive this encounter. Using her telepathy she called the Bio-Ship to appear right between them and Twister who was about to unleash his full power but, stopped when he lost sight of them. As the Bio-Ship was in camouflage mode, it blended in with its surroundings without the teen-heroes in the image of course.
"Fine then, I won't deny you children have power but, playing hide and seek will not help me achieve my objectives; so stay concealed and if you stand in my way again, I will show no mercy!" Twister turned around and flew away at super-speeds after giving the proper warning.
"What happened?" Wally asked sitting up.
"I placed the Bio-Ship in front of us; her camouflage hid us."
Superboy smashed his fist into the ground, breaking the rocks and dirt beneath, "And that's supposed to make it right?" Superboy stepped in front of M'gaan who was still on the ground, "You tricked us into thinking that this guy was Red Tornado!"
"She did not do it on purpose," Kaldur defended as the rest of the team groggily stood.
"It was a rookie mistake," Dick pointed out, "We shouldn't have listened..."
"You are pretty inexperienced," Wally spoke up, trying not to offend, "Hit the showers, we'll take it from here."
Superboy walked away huffing as he did so, "And stay out of our way!" he grunted before leaping into the air with super-agility moving multiple miles in seconds.
"I was just trying to be part of the team," M'gaan lowered her head so that her bangs covered her eyes as they watered slightly.
Ben walked up next to her sadly and dialed up an alien's hologram, "To be honest, I'm not sure we even have a team at this point." Ben slapped the Ultimatrix appearing as a five foot humanoid, cat-like alien with a slick blue and black body suit. The alien dubbed as FastTrack sped away to catch up to the others and find this Mr. Twister.
…
Happy Harbor Bay; 25 Minutes Later.
Three massive F-5 Tornadoes rampaged through the bay lifting and destroying boats and cars alike turning them into projectiles that hit sidewalks and injured innocent people. Boats carried by these cyclones rained down on the park area barely missing bystanders; one tornado went straight through a building completely leveling it to the ground.
"Certainly this will get the required attention," Twister created a bolt of lighting and struck the pier destroying and sending people into the waters. A green glow shun from beneath the water suddenly causing Twister to groan, "Not this again," Ripjaws flew up from the water and landed with the two innocents in either arm, they ran for their lives as Ben slapped the Ultimatrix on his chest shifting into Heatblast, the walking, talking charcoal man.
"You got ours" Heatblast announced as he rushed forwards forming a large ball of heat between his palms and aiming it at the levitating aerokinetic. Before it came in contact with him, a massive pressurized downdraft blew passed it and dispersed it; also blowing Heatblast back pinning him to the ground and carving a trench with his body.
Wally attempted to spin at high-speeds to create his own vortex of wind aiming upwards at Twister, whom chuckled, "Rudimentary at best;" He formed a cyclone from his wrist and it collided with Wally's dispersing it and knocking the mid-air speedster onto the roof of a standing bait-shop.
Kaldur pulled his water-barers from his back and summoned ocean-water to his side attacking with a strong pulse of H2O. "Amusing," Twister formed and controlled the up and down drafts with hot and cold temperature pressurized winds manipulating the water from Kaldur's control, directing it back it him with just the air that surrounded the water-based attack. This was nothing to Kaldur whom was only pushed back a few feet but, was dripping wet. He was confident until the android formed lighting between his fingers and sent a jolt at the Atlantean electrocuting him severely. Twister slowly lowered himself to the ground grabbing Kaldur by the leg and swinging him around and into Wally who, had recovered and approached at five hundred miles an hour, flew through the air and landed in a heap with the injured Atlantean.
"Irrelevant and insufficient; you are a distraction I can no longer tolerate," he formed lighting between his palms and prepared to put the two heroes to death until Superboy came from above planning to land on Twister but he moved aside and back handed the boy of steel into a tree, splitting it in two.
A green explosion of light shun from behind Twister as his air pressure became useless; a ghost like moth-creature floated upwards with icy-breath billowing from his mouth, "Big Chill!"
…
M'gaan decided to head their warning and stay out of the way, however; she couldnt allow her new friends to perish because of mistakes she made, and so, she flew back towards Mount Justice in the Bio-Ship while talking to Red Tornado through comms.
"The team could really use your help!" she pleaded as the screen clearly showed no sign of Red Tornado caring or having any expression whatsoever.
"If I were to intervene, it would not be to help, it would be to end the battle myself; still it is an odd coincidence that this 'Twister' shares my elemental abilities as well as my immunity to telepathy." Red Tornado was more focused on the odds of something like that being coincidence rather than team being in immediate danger.
"Hello Megan!" The Martian shut off comms and circled the Bio-Ship around and back towards the city where the fight was currently taking place.
Twister lifted a boat out of the water and tossed it nose first into Superboy who hit the ground with it and became pinned under its weight; Superboy attempted to lift the boat but, sniffed the air as he looked around and found the gas tank leaking extreme amounts of fluid. He attempted to lift faster once noticing the nearby flames but, it was far too late as the twenty-foot boat exploded on top of him at point blank range.
Big Chill exhaled a large blast of liquid nitrogen that spewed like a fountain at the android who barely managed to create a spinning shield of wind in-between himself and the blast. He then summoned a bolt of lightning from his wrist that struck Big Chill in the chest even though he managed to become intangible at the last second it still fried him causing him to fall to the ground in a smoking heap followed by a green light signifying his defeat.
Superboy freed himself from the flaming boat wreckage and leapt at Twister who summoned a cyclone right under the boy of steel spinning him into the air and flinging him across the street and through the window of an abandoned convenience store across the street and away from the battle. Kaldur jumped out of the way as a yacht flew at him from the battle field and landed on the store that Superboy had just landed in causing the whole building to go up in a massive explosion.
Kaldur noticed the engine-block to a car which was nowhere in sight just by his feet; he picked it up and spun around launching it at Mr. Twister whom almost didn't have time to dodge. He caught the machine with expert control of the wind spinning it around his body like it was in his orbit. He looked down at the ground and noticed Ben transformed as a green planet-like humanoid and used the three-hundred pound engine as a projectile of his own aiming it directly for it head. Swampfire jumped out of the way just in time as he summoned two orbs of flames from the methane-veins in his palms; he didn't have many options, he actually considered using the evolution function but, couldn't put all of his cards on the table just yet.
Wally and Dick had taken strategic cover behind a boat that had been tossed out of the water and into the middle of abandoned street; Dick unraveled his utility belt and slung it over his shoulder and across his chest like an ammunition-belt.
"You brought your utility belt?" Wally asked looking between his friend and the fight, ducking slightly every time an explosion went off.
"First lesson Batman taught me; never leave the house without it."
"Yea right after never go to the bathroom without it"
'Listen to me,' M'gaan spoke to the entire team telepathically, 'all of you.'
Kaldur had a tree above his head which he was about to assumingly take Twister off guard with until he heard the Martian speaking in his thoughts and placed it down at his feet.
"What did we tell you!?" Superboy growled at the mental voice in his head, still having flashbacks to Cadmus.
'I know and I know I messed up, but I am very clear on what we have to do now!'
…
...
"Get back, everybody clear the area!" a single cop yelled as he tried to move everyone away from the giant cyclones tearing through the area not a quarter-mile from him. As civilians scattered holding their loved ones close, Red Tornado flew overhead and towards the battle field with his signature crimson tornado propelling him.
"Hit the showers, boys," Red Tornado spoke in his usual monotone expression as he landed in front of the teens still prepared to fight the good fight, "I was hoping you could handle this alone but clearly, you cannot."
"But we have a plan now!" Dick exclaimed as Red Tornado simply ignored him and continued his slow stroll towards Twister.
"The subject is not up for debate; stand down," the others lowered their heads and moved to the far right, out of the way as so the real fight could now begin; Twister finally noticed Red Tornado approaching and turned to face him.
"I was beginning to believe you would never show!" Twister shouted as Red Tornado showed no sign of emotion once again, only raising his arms towards the robotic menace.
"This ends, here and now," Red Tornado put a hand behind him and summoned an F-3 tornado and swung his arm around controlling it with the frontward extending arm and directing it at Mr. Twister who dodged with a summer-salt and countered with his own even larger tornado. The two forces of nature clashed sending shock-waves across the bay until Red Tornado's was overpowered and Twister's tornado headed straight for the aerokinetic hero. Red Tornado put both hands out and forced the cyclone to disperse before launching multiple bursts of crimson air-pressure at the villain whom stopped the attacks with a shield of wind surrounding him.
"We are evenly matched, Twister; a surrender is advised," Red Tornado put two hands behind his back summoning an F-5 this time pulling rocks straight from the ground and launching them at Twister as high-speed projectiles, Twister chuckled and punched the ground forcing steam up to destroy the rocks before they made contact.
"No, Tornado, we are not!" Twister summoned lightning which cackled between his fingers as he directed it at Red Tornado who dodged to the left as quickly as he could. Unfortunately, this caused the lightning to hit a nearby collapsed boat igniting the gas-tank and causing an explosion that knocked Red Tornado on his back.
"Remain still, android," Twister extended his hand to the collapsed Red Tornado and allowed a multitude of cords and wires to extend from his finger tips and connect to the androids metallic skull. "The reprogramming won't take long."
Suddenly, Red Tornado's head turned towards his and melted slowly forming into M'gaan's own crimson-haired head, "Longer than you might think," she wrapped her hand around the wires and kept a-hold of him.
"No!" Twister shouted as M'gaan pushed him off of her with telekinesis, ripping his hand off in the processes. Twister hit a tornado which ripped the metallic back of his armor to shreds and sent him tumbling to the ground, this wind-power turned out to be Wally spinning at near hyper-sonic speeds as he ceased his spinning and folded his arms.
As he slowly stood to his feet he shouted spitefully, "I will kill you all where you stand!" he attempted to summon another tornado but, was stopped by two ghostly hands phasing through his battle-suits remaining arm; it short circuited and sparks flew as it soon became non-functional. Twister turned to find a white phantom figure floating behind him with black cracks running through its body with only a single eye staring back at him. Twister began tumbling backwards in fear as the ghost moved towards him.
"I didn't mean to frighten you, but, boo!" GhostFreak cackled in his deep raspy voice, he phased through the ground disappearing entirely causing Twister to nearly trip backwards entirely where he met a Kryptonian and Atlantean set of fists that crushed the helmet of his suit and sent him on his back. M'gaan floated up and brought the mechanical villain up with her as she used her telekinesis to rip the remaining arm clean off the armor revealing wires and circuits where Dick threw several exploding bird-a-rangs into causing it to explode and fall motionless to the ground.
The armor barely got to its knees before it's helmet struggled to open up and revealed a pale, skinny man with brown hair who crawled out and fell onto the ground in front of the heroes including Wally, Kaldur, M'gaan, Superboy, and GhostFreak; "Foul, I call foul!"
M'gaan wasted no time and raised her arm and lifted a giant boulder up from the ground beside them and brought it down on the man's body crushing it completely to shreds, "M'gaan, NO!" Ben shouted but, it was far too late, the deed was done.
"I don't know how things are done on Mars but, here on Earth, we don't execute our captives!" Dick yelled in anger almost hearing the loved ones that would blame the League for taking his life, no matter what atrocities he committed.
"You said you'd trust me," M'gaan spoke with a giddy smile as she lifted the boulder up to reveal a mess of crushed mechanical parts and wires, "That's why I couldn't read his mind."
Wally stepped over to the mess of oil and parts, picking up a mechanical eyeball with a smile, "Cool, souvenir!"
Ben reverted to normal and joined the group as they semi-celebrated, "We should have had more faith in you, all of us," Ben said as the others nodded, Superboy, however; looked away without saying a word.
Wally chuckled and flicked the mechanical eye-ball into the air before catching it, "Yea, you really rocked this mission… Get it? Rock?" he broke out into laughter jabbing his thumb at the boulder stained with oil.
"Ignore him," Be said putting a hand on her shoulder, "We're all just happy to have you on the team," she couldn't put her finger on it but for some reason, she felt very happy and comforted when Ben simply put a hand on her shoulder. Maybe it was nothing, or maybe?

Mount Justice; 5:29PM
"It was obviously made to control or destroy you," Ben gave his best guess based off what he experienced as the remains of the android-man that crawled out of the battle-suit, as well as the armored pieces they could salvage, laid out in front of the Team and Red Tornado; he examined the parts and but didnt voice any comments.
After several moments of silence, M'gaan spoke up, "Is that why you wouldn't help us?" she asked.
"No," He stated firmly and without remorse, "this was your battle. I do not believe it is my role to solve your problems for you as you shouldn't not solve my problems for me..." Red Tornado could sometimes be very hurtful unintentionally due to his cold hard logic, however; it was sometimes refreshing from the constant lack of trust the League would give them.
"But, if you're in danger-"
"Consider this matter closed; if I am in any danger, it will be a League priority," Red Tornado turned to leave, dismissing them all with a stoic stare.
"Batman, Aquaman and Flash; they would've jumped right in to fix things," Wally commented with a short smile.
"I guess if we're gonna have a babysitter, a heartless machine is exactly what we need?" Dick pointed out as Ben chuckled and pointed over to Red Tornado who stopped to face them and Dick almost immediately kicked himself.
"Inaccurate," Red Tornado turned around again and tapped his right metallic pectoral, "I have a heart; it is composed of a carbon-steel alloy," he turned his head for just a second, "I also have excellent hearing," he turned and left the room without another word but, the way he said things almost sounded like a joke... almost.
"Right, sorry..." Dick responded giving a nervous chuckle and rubbing the back of his neck.
Ben laughed at his mistake and slung his arm over Kaldur and Wally's shoulder, "This team thing may work out after all, smoothies on me!" As they all left the room, M'gaan and Superboy were the last two to leave as the group approached the Zeta-Tubes, the three boys chanting 'smoothie' over and over.
Superboy moved to leave silently but, right before he made it to the teleporters, he turned around and his expression changed to a sympathetic one.
"Sorry," he turned and left leaving a smiling M'gaan to run after them.
