The Next Day

"This is ridiculous.." Conan groaned as he went to school with Ai and Mutsuki.

"This will be temporary Kudo.." Ai rolled her eyes.

"Nothing to worry Metantei ku- I mean Onii-san! I will make sure no one makes fun of you!" Mutsuki grinned in delight as Conan sighed.

"I hate my life.." Conan mumbled back as the two didn't hear him. "I wish this was just a dream.." The trio continued walking towards the school to meet Genta, Ayumi and Mitsuhiko.

"Goodmorning Sensei!" Everyone greeted as their sensei smiled gratefully at the class.

"Thank you. So for today's class, we have a new pupil joining us..please introduce yourself and suit fine in the section!" Their sensei spoke in delight as Mutsuki entered the classroom.

"Ohayo minna-san! the name's Mutsuki Edogawa.. I'm Conan's otouto if you ever ask. I like doing magic tricks! it's nice meeting you all!" Mutsuki introduced happily as he tried to hide his poker face to downgrade the suspicions from people.

The class was in awe. They never knew their genius classmate had a distant brother.

"He looks like Conan-kun so bad!"

"No no! He looks like Kaito kid from the television! Don't you see??" The remark caught Conan, Ai and Mutsuki off guard.

"Kaito Kid is dead, just accept the fact Jurii!" One of the students deadpanned. "It's already told in the television!"

"We haven't seen his body yet! There's still hope!" Jurii argued as the other answered bitterly. "The police already found his stained cape an-"

"children, children.. enough." Their sensei said as the two students stopped arguing. "Mutsuki-kun, please do seat next to your brother."

Mutsuki nodded and sat next to Conan, who was glancing nervously. Genta froze as Mitsuhiko gaped his mouth open, speechless with Ayumi covering her mouth. Conan never told that he has a distant brother.

and the class continued with still suprised faces. Mutsuki was silent as a bird.

"Conan-kun! You never told us that you have a younger twin!" Genta exclaimed.

"Yeah Conan-kun!!" Ayumi retorted.

"Eh.. gomen minna. I didn't think it would be important to all of you.." Conan scratched his head as he sweatdropped. Mutsuki and Ai looked at him blankly.

"Conan-kun!!" The trio (including Mutsuki) groaned as Conan sweatdropped even more.

"Eh? You have a distant brother??" Ran Mouri gasped as she looked at Mutsuki.

"Great, two brats along the way." Kogoro Mouri sighed in frustration.

Conan and Mutsuki glared at him however Ran and Kogoro didn't noticed the stare.

"Yeah Ran nee-chan. Sorry if I haven't told you about him." Conan fake smiled.

"Konbawa nee-chan! the name's Mutsuki Edogawa. Conan's ototou! Nice to meet you!" Mutsuki popped a flower from his hand using magic as Ran smiled brightly.

"Nice to meet you too! And your magic is amazing!" Ran cheered as Conan stared blankly.

"Ughh.." Kogoro muttered. "But yeah he looks just like the brat. I dunno how this kid suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I never remembered Yuusaku having a second child of their own with Yukiko. And this kid.. huh..Oh well, I don't really care anymore. As long as he doesn't cause any trouble.. I would be fine with it." He thought.

"To think that Kaito Kid survived huh.." A woman with blonde hair, blue eyes and black sunglasses muttered. From the looks of it, she's at a small bar not just far away from the train station.

"No bother, since he's a kid.. I guess that Snake would better be gone as he's nothing but a pathetic jerk." The woman keep speaking. "He doesn't even know that Kaito kid himself is not to be underestimated.. especially he's the son of the original phantom Thief.. Kaito Kid 1412."

The woman in black walked away as she held two pictures. The pictures seemed to be old and torn but the woman was very interested..

a picture of a familiar kid with brown hair, blue eyes and herself, but a bit younger. She was holding "his" shoulders as they smile together in the old picture.

It would be an honour to see you again..

"my godchild.."

"You're soo cutee!" Sonoko Suzuki gleamed in delight as she squished Mutsuki's cheeks. "You're better than this kid beside you!" as she narrowed her eyes on Conan, who was staring at her.

"But in anyway, you looked like Kaito Kid! Oh my god it makes it so much better!" She continued squealing happily as Ran sighed and Mutsuki was off guard, hearing his alias as the great phantom thief of Ekoda.

"Eh, Sonoko! you're scaring him!" Ran sighed as Sonoko blushed in embarrassment.

"Gomen, Ran-chan." Sonoko let go of the poor kid as he breathed a bit rapid.

Conan narrowed his eyes at Mutsuki. He would be eyeing on Kuroba starting today. Eversince that incident changed the perspective of his plans. The burden of him finding out all about Kaito Kid 1413 was already settled.. for now.

The mysterious thing behind his appearance was that he never known where he lived nor he still had remaining relatives after the death of his late father, Toichi Kuroba. It was said that the original phantom thief was tied with the Black Organization. However, it was never confirmed to be true. It was only a rumour created by people around Tokyo. Why bother and create such nonsense rumours?

The Black Organization left a bitter taste on his mouth, remembering the day he was shrunk and was taken away of his life in high school. He would wish nothing but change back to be with Ran in highschool again.

If rumours were facts, Why would Kaito Kid 1412 ally himself with the Black Organization? And Kuroba's mother.. Does she even know that her husband was a very secretive thief?

Conan, was in fact a bit conclusive at the state. But can't help but be a bit terrified. He doesn't even know how he would solve the case behind the backstory of Kaito Kid 1412 and his wife. Kaito Kid 1412 seemed to hide more secret facts. Not even the current Kaito Kid, aka his son knew. Only for his dear wife and himself.

"If I were Toichi-kun.. what would be the outcome if I never went to get involved with those guys..?" He muttered as he looked at Sonoko, still pleasing Mutsuki while Ran facepalmed.
