She tried his cell more times than she cared to count but to no avail. He didn't answer any calls, when she went to Logan's to have his phone traced, he came up with nothing either. She went home defeated...almost.
As she entered her building she was beyond surprised to see the man she was looking for. Though something was seriously off, wrong for him to be laying on the floor at her apartment door. She didn't know what to feel and decided that she wasn't going to feel anything until she knew what and where he had been.
She bent down..." Alec, Alec!" said Max, examining him. He was covered in sweat more the usual for an X5, and his breathing was very shallow. Seeing OC coming up the stairs she motioned for her to help. Being as careful as they could they carried him inside.
"Damn the boy is built!" thought Max and OC at the same time.
"What happened to my boo?" asked OC, wondering why Alec had to be carried inside and not responding. He was out of it and anyone that knew him knew he was always on his guard. Something was very wrong.
Before OC could think, Max was stripping Alec of his clothes, OC didn't hesitate to help her, and they pulled his last shirt off of him, they saw that Alec was brutally beaten within an inch of his life. OC got a washcloth and kettle, so they could wash the grime off him. As Max washed his back she was surprised to see he had been injected with something from behind. Whatever it was had made him so out of it that he took a brutal beating.
Whatever was wrong the girls knew they needed help and NOW.
Max finished washing Alec, and OC covered him, as Max walked into the other room to call Biggs and Mole. Both were more than pissed to find their princess was hurt and barely alive. Biggs rushed over but not before stopping and picking up the doctor they knew.
"What happened?" asked Biggs, knowing it was stupid to ask.
"He's been drugged," said Max, stepping into the room. "We will know more when the doctor gets done.
It seemed like hours when the doctor finally came out.
"What's the news?" asked Max, not waiting.
"I'm afraid his injuries are worse than we thought but he is recovering." Said the doctor, "He will be in pain once he awakens. He has 2 broken ribs, a broken collar bone, and a broken ankle. They are already mending. He was injected with the same thing that people injects elephants with to sedate them, for transportation."
"Will he be okay?" asked Max not looking at anyone.
"Yes, though I think you should know something," said Dr. Max looked up instantly. "Alec keeps repeating Logan's betrayal. I believe Logan is behind this."
Max's anger almost took over, if Biggs had not laid his hand on her shoulder. He along with Alec knew how to calm her down though Alec was best at it. "If he is, he will...Pay," said Biggs. knowing that Alec needed them right now. He would make sure the bastard paid.
Max turned and walked into Alec's room. Knowing he was still out, she sit beside the bed and waited, for him to awaken. Max never left his side, and Biggs never left the apartment. Though OC had to work and cover for them both.
36 hours later Max decided to take a quick shower and change clothes as she waited for Alec to awaken. She was surprised when she sat down on the chair once more to see him waking up. She couldn't decide if she was happy or excited.
He slowly opened his eyes and had to close them once more. The light was too bright for him. Max seeing his reaction closed the curtain. He once more opened his eyes and quickly surveyed the room. Catching Max's smell he knew she was here along with Biggs in the other room. "Ma...x" coughed Alec, trying to speak. Max quickly handed him some water, which he drank greedily. She watched him see if he was alright. He quickly smirked at her and tried to sit up. She watched him and knew he was in pain.
She quickly gave him the pills the doctor had left him. Which he took knowing that he could trust Max. "Alec, can you remember what happened?" asked Max, wondering if it was the right time to ask.

As max got into the shower she could not get Alec's words out of her head.
She quickly washed her hair and knew she had to find out what was going on. She wondered if Alec's words were true but in reality, she knew he couldn't lie to her.
She wished she could get drunk but knowing it was a lost cause she got out of the shower and walked back into her room with only a towel around her. She didn't care if Alec was still asleep or not she was stuck in her head and murderously pissed.
She grabbed her ninja and went to the one spot she could think of, alone. Her pager went off a few times, she ignored it more than she ever did in the past. The last time it went off she accidentally threw it off the space needle. She didn't want to deal with the fact that logan betrayed Alec and her. Alec could be dead right now because she trusted the wrong person.
days later at Logan's Logan had tried for over a week to get Max to call him or show up. He needed her for eyes only mission but every time he called and paged she never returned the calls. He was getting angrier and wondered if somehow she had found out about Alec.
He sent another page this time saying 494 wondering if she would she didn't he got his keys and left.
Meanwhile The apartment was dark, the only light coming from the computer monitor.
He looked around the apartment listening for every sound or motion and didn't see or hear anything. He knew he was alone and quickly set out to see what information this human had on his fellow manticorians. He quickly took all the records and quickly set to delete all the information and the backup information he could off the human-computer. When he came across a CDROM that was marked, Alec and Max. He quickly took it and all the rest as well knowing he was going to get this stuff to Max. Once she kicked his ass for stealing.
But she needed to know what this human was capable of during. He almost cost Alec his life. Biggs was not okay with that.
Alec was his brother and no one hurt any of them. He quickly took everything before shooting the computer knowing the computer would be of no use again. He quickly destroyed everything.
