A huge thanks to Ozpin52, Kog6943 and Lupercus1944 for your reviews! They made my day!

Also, for Lupercus1944, all pokémon can switch to their wild cries when they are stressed and/or angry. I sort of envision it as the equivalent to a human scream of frustration or something.

Disclaimer: Pretty sure this has already been established but I don't own Pokémon.

Where to start?

That…was a very good question.

Even Rok knew you can't just build a settlement on a whim and send out a call for all the most vicious and untrustworthy pokémon to come and live there. Best case scenario they'd come running and the entire place would be practically demolished within a month. Worst case (and most likely) scenario was they'd think it was a trap and no-one would come (as Reaper helpfully pointed out).

Rok glared at the ground in frustration. "There has to be some solution! Some kind of starting point."

Reaper snorted. "Good luck with that. Our kind doesn't want help and that no-one wants to help us. Don't get me wrong, it's a sweet thought, but it's already falling on its face."

Smoke gave her a tiny smirk. "Yes, most ideas do that when they've only been discussed for seven minutes."

Reaper scowled at him. "It doesn't matter if we discussed it for seven years, we're never going to figure out a solution."

"Not with that attitude!" Silvo chirped, nudging Reaper cheerfully, and Rok had to hurriedly swallow a snigger as her fur stood up from the static jumping from his quills.

"Personally, I think the plan is going great so far!" Rage beamed, "Our settlement already has five pokémon!"

"First of all, we don't have a settlement." Reaper grumbled, shaking out her suddenly-puffy fur, "Second, we don't count as members of the settlement. Especially Sparks-For-Brains here, he's not even a Bad Type!"

"We could be members of the settlement." Rok said slowly, quietly, mostly to himself.

Reaper looked at him curiously. "What?"

"We could be members of the settlement!" Rok cried with sudden excitement, "We're probably just thinking too big right now, trying to solve the problem in one step, when really we should be doing it more gradually. Slowly but surely, we can pull more pokémon who are fed up with their treatment into our group, growing bigger and bigger until we can finally settle down properly!"

Silvo groaned. "But that'll take forever!"

"That's the way it is for most things worth doing." Smoke told him, though even he looked doubtful.

Reaper was frowning. She opened her mouth, and Rok mentally braced himself for the argument and that was surely coming.

"That…might actually work."

The entire group stared at her in shock and Reaper kneaded the ground self-consciously under their scrutiny. "Only because there's a precedent." She mumbled.

"What precedent?" Rage asked curiously.

"That little business Smoke had running before we all got kicked out of town." Reaper answered, gesturing to the houndoom with her scythe. "All he did was promise a place where you didn't have to fight and you could get a good meal, and nearly everyone went there at least once. Just sending out a call to the Bad Types that we were making a home exclusively for them? That would be chaos. But, gradually pulling them in with the promise that they can be safe, and letting them see for themselves that they will be safe? There's a possibility-a very slim possibility-" she added, "that it could work."

Rok couldn't stop the wide grin spreading across his face. He felt his tail wagging behind him, fast, rapid strokes in the air as jubilation bubbled inside him. Yes! Yes, they actually had a plan! They had a starting point! This might actually work!

Smoke shrugged his shoulder. "I suppose it's worth a shot. Now that we know how we're going to do this, we need to figure out where to actually start."

"Oh! Oh!" Rage piped up, one massive red paw lifted in the air like he was in a lesson. "I have an idea! A while ago, while I was still wandering, I heard this story about a pokémon that lived all by themselves on an island. Everyone hated them, said that they caused a lot of problems, and everyone was too scared to go to the island because they were sure that the pokémon would attack them."

Reaper quirked an eyebrow at the incineroar. "And you want to invite this violent pokémon, who from the sounds of it just wants to be left alone, to join us?"

"They might not be violent." Rage told her, "They might just be like us! Maybe everyone was always mean to them because they thought they were bad, and they left so they wouldn't have to be hurt by them anymore."

Rok frowned in thought. "I…guess that's a possibility. It's as good a place to start as any."

Smoke nodded. "Do you remember where this island was, Rage?"

Rage nodded eagerly and pointed a claw off into the distance. "It's not that far, about a day away in a straight line I think."

Silvo bounced on the spot. "Well then, what are we waiting for?" he cried, jolts of electricity arcing off his over his pelt. "Let's go make a friend!"

A/N: Shorter chapter this week, but I plan on making the next one pretty full-on. Do you guys have any theories as to who this mysterious pokémon who may or may not be joining our little group may be? I am giving no hints other than what was said in this chapter, but I will say that I really freaking love this pokémon and I'm excited to introduce them!
