Lee closes the drawer, ignoring the gun before standing up. Carver comes in just as he leaves his seat, looking down at the clipboard. "Let me have a look." They exchange the clipboard. Carver reads down the list, nodding his head. "Mm.. okay, seems like good choices all around. Now we just have to see if they're better in action and not just good on paper." He gives the clipboard back to Lee and marches onward, leading him to the outside of the office.

"Hey, uh, wait." Lee calls out in the doorway, stopping the older man in his tracks.

"What?" He turns to look at him with a raised brow.

"I was thinking.. Could I see Carley and Clementine before we start the jobs?" He asks, looking him in the eyes.

"They should be beginning their morning routine now. Sure, I'll allow it. Follow me." Carver continues, shutting the door behind them. They head down to the elite's bedroom, opening the door to find everyone bustling around the room, getting changed, eating breakfast and brushing their teeth. Clementine is groggily putting on her shoes next to Carley when she spots him.

"Good morning, girls." Lee says with a big, warm smile. They smile back just as warmly, with Carley getting up to hug him.

"Good morning. What are you doing here?" Carley greets back, kissing him on the cheek. Then she notices Carver.

Lee puts Carley down and looks down at Clem, who's smile fades as she flies into his chest and whimpers. "Shh.. come here, honey.. You and I have an important job to do today."

"..What job?" She whispers, looking past Lee. She takes a deep breath and lets go when she notices Bill behind him, standing up straight. Carver approaches and gets down to her level.

"For just one day, I wanna test your leadership skills. So, Lee outlined the jobs for today and who specifically does them. You and Lee are gonna walk around the store and check in on everyone, managing them. If you do well, I'll consider giving you both higher positions." He gives a nice, creepy smile, like one you'd see your out of touch neighbor give you. He stands up. "Wrap it up here, Clementine. I'll be waiting, but not for long." He starts walking further into the bedroom to presumably see how his guards were doing this fine, foreboding morning. Lee looks back at the girls.

Carley looks up at Lee from her seat on the bed. "Lee, I gotta ask.. What's our plan here?"

Lee looks to and fro before whispering. "Right now, I'm not entirely sure. Kenny wants to break out using the herd as cover, but Carver really seems to be warming up to us, so staying is also a viable option. On the other hand, we could take over this place and kick Carver to the curb, but.. That seems dangerous."

"They all seem dangerous." Clementine cautiously replies.

Carley nods. "Absolutely. Look, Lee.. I know everyone must be really scared and paranoid down there in the pen, but…" She swallows. "I think we should stay."

"Stay and take over?" Lee questions.

"Either that, or.. Stay and coexist with Carver."

"Are you serious?" Clem questions.

Carley puts a hand up. "I know, he's not a nice or merciful leader, but look at us. When was the last time we had walls and felt like we weren't going to be attacked by bandits or scavengers any day?"

"He shot you in the leg!" Lee exclaims quietly.

"And now he's healing it, protecting me, giving me a roof to sleep under. He even apologized for all that yesterday."

"And what he did to Duck?" Clem asks, her voice weak. Carley looks down sympathetically.

"Horrible. Awful. But maybe he can be changed." She looks back up at her boyfriend. "He's not a good man, Lee, but he's a competent leader. He wouldn't be here if he wasn't. He hasn't lost any of his people since Luke's group escaped months ago, aside from Reggie who he knew was a liability."

"So, if I was a liability, would you want me thrown off a roof?" Lee quizzes.

"Of course not. I worded that wrong. Reggie wasn't loyal to any cause, and Bill could tell. I didn't really know the guy, but that's what he told me, and that's what everyone else here is saying too. Speaking of which, there's the moral issue of killing these people's leader and leaving them all confused and scared, or worse under the supervision of Troy or Tavia. If you want to take over as leader, you'll have to fight the opposition and really emulate how he rose to power before doing your own thing." She explains. Lee stares at the floor, giving an apprehensive nod.

"Well, no matter what we choose, you should know that Molly stole a few walkie talkies last night, so we could communicate with each other at night, and whenever our plan gets off the ground. If we choose to escape, it has to be tonight."

Carley's eyes go wide as she hisses. "Jesus, Lee.. alright, who then? You wanna give it to me, or Clementine?"
