Lee can't help but see Walter's face morph and degenerate into the senators. Sam looks up at him, quivering, pleading for his life without a single word coming out of his mouth. The sounds around him become a loud, eerie hum, his arm trembling. Still, he can do it. This isn't like before where he was only able to choke the man out because of the hate and frustration he felt watching his wife betray him. This was different. This he could do and still sleep at night. This needed to happen.

He can pull the trigger.

Bang!

Walter falls down on his face, his brains spilled all over the floor. Carver stands over him, arms folding with a nice, proud grin on his face. Clementine flinches at the sound and horrifying sight of an innocent man dying. Christa gasps, not expecting Lee to really go for it. The man of the hour gives back the gun as Carver walks up to him.

"You did a good thing. A hard thing, but a good thing. That shot will save a life down the road." Carver pats his shoulder.

"I know." Lee mutters, looking into his eyes. The two men pat each other's shoulders before turning to the girls.

Bill walks forward, gun in hand. "Christa.. Lemme ask you something: did you know he was poisoning our food supply?"

"I.. I didn't. I was washing the dishes when I heard that guy, Johnny, just-"

"You can play dumb, Christa, and suffer the consequences, or give me the truth and go back to the pen. I just want the truth." Lee joins him by his side, giving her the stare down. She cracks under the pressure.

"...He told me. But I didn't think he'd do it! I thought he was just saying it because he was frustrated."

"I asked for the truth." Carver growls.

"That is the truth!" She yells back.

"She's lying." Lee states like he knows it's a fact, tightening his fist as he glares into her eyes. She's taken aback, eyes wide.

"Oh?" Bill says.

"Lee?! W-what do you-"

"She's lying, Bill. She knew. She's been conspiring behind your back, I'm sure. She would have killed all of us."

Christa, shocked, trips over her words. "Lee, w-why-?"

"Thank you, Lee, but I already knew that. Now," He raises his gun to her, aiming at her head. "Why don't you go up to my office so we can have a little chat about you and Walter's stunt?" He waves the gun. She gets the hint.

"Lee..?" Clem asks, her voice shivering.

"What is it?" He turns to her.

"You.. you killed Walter. Why..?"

He looks down at her. "Carver was right, Clementine. I've made sacrifices morally to be able to take care of you. I've made sacrifices to my body, to other people, I've killed just like he has now. Weak people like Walter, Sarita, Duck, even Alvin. Their pussyfooting actions are going to get someone killed."

"So.. I did the right thing? When I hurt Duck? By punishing him, it's like what you did to Walter. I'm.. not bad, right?"

"Of course you did. He needs to learn that his poorly planned actions have harsh consequences. Bill might not be all there, but who is anymore?" Johnny reanimates behind Lee, his growling alerting them. He continues talking as he stomps his head in, blood staining his shoe. "I feel sorry for Walter, of course. But things like this need to happen so strong people like you and Carley can live." He turns to face her again. She looks away. "Do you understand?"

She holds her arm shyly, looking down at her shoes. Can she really accept this new philosophy into her life?
