Chapter 14: Muffins.
"Uriah tells me you are having problems." Bass says once the door shuts behind us. I wince at the sound. My head is aching and I am barely moving. I didn't eat my muffin today. Uriah saw that as he came over to us to walk with us.
"Damn him." I turn to the side and groan out.
"Ann, I don't want to hear that talk from you." Bass corrects me. I look over at him with tired eyes.
"Then let me drop out." I deadpan. "Let me live with the factionless. I will be fine." I tell him as I walk over to the chair. "I'm not looking forward to this."
"No one is. And no way." He says as he goes get a needle.
"Can't you just 'delete' it by mistake? Please? So I don't have go in and I don't have to be tortured." I say hopefully. Bass shakes his head.
"I already did that to someone this year. I can't do it for you. Eric is already watching you." I shut my mouth and pale. "I can't do it unless it was the second day or something really happens. They will start investigating me as well." I nod slowly and turn my head to the side.
"Shit."
"Ann!" I roll my eyes and sit down.
"Does it matter? I'm going to be irritable for a while until the damn thing is over with." I snap.
"Doesn't mean you have to use words like that." Bass corrects. I feel the needle go into my neck.
"I having a bad week, let me cuss in front of my own brother." I mumble as he injects me.
"You're all silent around your friends, but not in front of me. Why is that?" he asks.
"Because you're my brother and can handle me and my head. So shut up and deal with it." I tell him as he pulls the needle out. I see him shake his head.
"So I have to deal with side of you." I roll my eyes.
"I would rather be in this mood all the time. I defend myself and actually act like a dauntless. Right now, I act like Abnegation or Amity." I shake my head. "I don't think I would ever fit in there." Bass chuckles.
"Ready to get this over with?" He asks as he sits in his chair before the computer.
"Do you ask me that because you don't know that answer or something?" He shakes his hand and chuckles more.

I feel like I'm being crushed. My eyes open and I see I'm in the middle of a white room. Doesn't do me any good with this migraine. I narrow my eyes and look at my body. What the hell? I'm chained. Why the hell would I chain myself to a wall? It doesn't make since. Then I hear it. The scream. Its Christina's scream. I try to move but the chains are too tight around me. I close my eyes and move around. Nothing. I open my eyes and I see and beaten and bloody Christina kneeling on the ground and a man holding her head up by her hair. He punches her with his other hand and she screams again. I try to move again and I can't
"Come on, save her." The man scoffs out. "You just need to get out and come get her. It's really simply. I did it." I groan as I take in a sharp breath in. "You can't do it." He laughs. Oh my God.
"PETER!" I yell. "Let go of her now!" I wrestle with the chains and fail. All he does is laugh and pull her up and she screams. I can't move.
"You're too weak to do anything." He tells me with a sickening smirk. He pulls out a knife and hold it to her throat. "Let's see if me killing her with get you to come after me." Peter says in a mocking voice. Then he turns and looks at Christina. She is crying and begging him to stop. Something she would never do. I look at her and choke. She looks like she has been throw hell and back.
"Stop it." I cry out. "Kill me instead." I tell him. "You hate me. So just kill me." Peter rolls his eyes and removes the knife from her throat. I see that there is blood on the knife already. He taps his chin with it and it's dry. He used that knife before. Edward.
"I don't think you understand. What I'm doing is showing you how you are truly worthless." IN one swift movement, He moves the knife and slits her throat.
"NO!" I cry out as Christina's neck pours blood out and soaks the white ground in front of her. My body slams against the chains and I can't even get then to rattle. They are as tight as they will ever be. "No." I start to cry. The blood pools around my feet as I stare at the cut on her throat.
"Nothing. Not even a budge." He says disappointedly. Then he lets go of her hair and Christina's body slumps forward and lands in her own blood and splashes it all over me. "That is a disappointment."
"You're a cruel little child." I seethe out of my teeth. "You are sink and need help. You used the same knife you stabbed Edward with to kill Christina." I jerk my body around and nothing moves. The only sign of me even trying is the bruises that are forming on my arms and legs. "I'm going to kill you with my bare hands." Peter turns his head to the side.
"But that's what I'm trying to get you to do. All you need to do is get out." He says in a fake innocent voice. I spit at him and he laughs. "Your too weak. You don't deserve first place. You don't even deserve to be in dauntless." I shut my eyes and I pull and tug on the short chains and nothing happens. I stop to breath and I hear another scream. A male one this time. I open my eyes again and it's Al.
"You better not cut his throat. I swear to God…" Peter cuts the beaten up Al's throat and I start going crazy, but nothing. I really want to get of these chains. I sob angry and sorrowful tears. I don't know. My friends are being murdered at the hand that stabbed someone in the eye and not even bat an eye at it. I watch as Will is the next one. He looks just like Christina, but he is fighting. Fighting against Peter because he has placed him right next to Christina. "You're sick." I seethe out as I slam forward. There is no way I can reach.
"Come on, Andy." Will encourages. "You're stro…" He cuts his throat. I try not puke as his blood lands on her body. Peter sees this and laughs. Hot, burning hot tears run down my cheeks as I feel their warm blood pool at my feet.
"Peter. You're done." I warn him threateningly.
"Oh, I'm only a quarter of the way done." He says before snapping. Molly and Drew appear out of nowhere and drag the dead bodies of my friends to the side of the room. They walk through a door and return with Marlene and Lynn. I don't know Lynn very well, but I don't want her to die.
"No." I slam against the chains. "You let them go right now. I swear to God, Peter." I growl out. "She shouldn't go through any of your crap." I look Marlene up and down and sob. "Let Marlene go. Let Lynn go."
"What the hell!" Lynn snaps at me. "What are you doing? Get out of those stupid chains and get over here." Even beating with blood all over her, she still seems like a perfect Dauntless. Peter punches her in the head and she falls to the ground. I see she is chained. Makes sense now. She would willing go with them. Molly yanks her up and pushes her next to Marlene.
"Don't cry, Andy." She smiles. "Just keep trying." Child like faith in someone so weak. I slam against the chains over and over again. Nothing. Peter cuts their throats and more blood is added to the pool.
"No! MARLENE!" I sink to my knees. "You killed her." I look up at Peter as he walks over to me and lowers his face next to mine.
"What are you going to do about it?" He smirks before kicking blood on me and walk back to where he stood. Molly brings in the next victim. She is short and her face is covered with a bag of some sort.
"NO! NO! NO!" I try to fight with the chains holding my arms back and nothing. Tris is kicked down to her knees and her bag is removed.
"Andy! What's going on?" She asks as she takes in the bloody scene before her.
"I… Peter. Let me go and you will see me kill your sorry ass." I growl as I look up at him. "I swear, I won't disappoint you." I lost it. He can't kill Tris.
"You don't belong here, like me. You're not willing to do what has to be done. You're not even brave enough to watch your friends die. You're a coward." I pull on the chains again and they are starting to cut and break my wrists. As he cuts her throat, I scream as I let myself hang there. He has to be done. I breathe in heavily as I hear more steps. No. I watch as my tears drop into the pool of blood. "You also don't deserve someone like him. Someone brave and funny. You piece of Stiff garbage." I can't even move. I just sob. I feel the blood land on my hair and back and face this time. gross. Why is he doing this? His body splashes onto the ground and I see his face in my line of sight. God. I shut my eyes and scream.
"Peter, Stop it." I cry out. I need to breath I have to breathe.
"Bring out her brother." I hear him call out to Molly and Drew. I can't help but laugh.
"You think you can get him. He will kill you with no problem." I life my head up and glare at Peter. I'm still frightened that this thing is going to reveal who Bass is. So I need to calm down, or break it. Calming down is the best thing. I hear Molly and Drew struggle with him behind the door. Come on, drag it out.
"Peter, we need your help." Molly yells on the other side of the door. Peter rolls his eyes.
"Stupid, good for nothing…" He mumbles as he walks out. I can explain this simply. I won't be convinced of it unless it was real and according to their personality. Bass says mine are very frightening and he has to mark each video with something so Max is the one that has to watch it. Like me choosing to burn myself alive. Not a normal fear reaction. I look around the room. Oh God. There is more blood. Seven, all seven of my friends are dead around me and I am kneeling in their blood. I glance at Uriah, and instantly regret it. His eyes are white and his skin is pale because of the lack of blood. Well it does have blood, buts it's all on the outside. Oh God. I turn my head and puke.
"Sorry to whomever you belong to". There is nothing but blood…puke around me. I hear something break behind the door and I look over at the door. "No." I breathe heavy again. No, stop it. Calm down and get out of here. I bite my lip as I hear another crash. "No." I say quietly for the show. Bass told me I need to not say something that will hint that I'm aware. There is another one and I sit on the ground and bring my knees to my chest. This should be good enough. I shut my eyes and breathe. There is another crash and I tighten my arms around my knee slightly. Just for show. Bass would never into something like this. I hear the door open.
000
I can't help but wince. I can feel their blood on me still.
"Ann." I hear a quieter Bass. I open my eyes and I'm glad I'm not in the white and red room anymore.
"I still feel the blood on me." I tell him as I curl into a ball.
"You did great though." Bass walks over to me and sets a hand on my cheek. "You didn't let on that you knew."
"But I didn't, not until Uriah died in front of me and Peter said to bring you in." I laugh nervously. "You would kill them before you let them touch you."
"True." He says in agreement. "But they won't get Uriah or Christina." I shake my head.
"Christina and Uriah, You say something about seeing me and they will come willingly. All Peter needs to do and punch them in the temples and knock them cold. They had the same binds as Lynn did. And there is no way in hell she would go in willingly. She doesn't even know me."
"But she must mean something to you." Bass says as he offers me a hand. "You are looking a little green."
"I wonder why, Bass." I mumble and I grab his hand and he helps me off the table.
"You're done though." He says and I roll my eyes.
"Yeah, but I have to deal with the Fearscape." He narrows his eyes.
"How do you know of that?" He asks.
"Marlene was trying to comfort me. She said I had two days left, yesterday. So one more day." Bass nods his head and let's goes of my hand.
"Try not to puke when seeing your friends." I groan and walk out the door. Tris and Christina told me to meet them in the Dorm room. So I make my way there. Sadly, everywhere I look I see blood. I feel like I have blood on me still. It's mental, I know that. But it still feels real. It's not a long trip to the dorm. I get there and there are a lot of people in here than normal. I walk over to Tris and Christina and remain silent. Eric is in here. He glances at me before turning the board around and walking out of the room.
"What is this?" I ask either one of them.
"Eric says it's a progress report." Christina says. "Good to hear you talking to me."
"After watching you die. I think I will talk with you." She nods and I go over to my bed and open my drawer and pull out my dress. I need something that won't remind me of the feeling of blood. I didn't have this on in the fear.
"Andy…" I hear Christina whisper my name.
"What?" I ask as I shut the drawer and look at her. Then I see it. Peter has Tris pinned to the wall. Crap.
"I will not be outranked by both stiffs this time." He hisses in her face. I look back at Christina with wide and look back at Peter. Is this the start of my fear? "How did you do it, Huh? How the hell did you do it?"I watch as she slams her into the wall again. I can't take this. I think my preferred self is back. I walk over to them and grab Peter's hair and yank him from her. I glare at him.
"Don't touch her, you worthless piece of crap." I hiss in his face. There is a hand on my shoulder as I lift him up to get to my level.
"Andy." It's Will. "Let him down." He says in my ear. I slowly let his feet fully touch the ground. "Only a coward bullies a little girl." He tells him firmly.
"A little girl?" Peter scoffs and my eyes narrow. I really want to kill him right now, but Will's hand on my shoulder tells me I should drop him. I don't want to cause problems with my friends. Not after I watched them die. "Are you blind, or just stupid?" My hand twitches as I stop in mid swing of punching him in the face. He barely glances at it. "She's going to edge you out of the rankings and out of Dauntless, and you're going to get nothing, all because she knows how to manipulate people and you don't." Can I kill him? "So when you realize that she's out to ruin us all, you let…" I can't handle his mouth anymore. I finish the swing and deck him right in the jaw and his head snaps to the side.
"You want that, not Tris." I go to hit him again and Will grabs my fist as I pull it back. "You want first place and you're willing to kill for it. What does it matter if someone else is in first; people are going to be cut." I break free from Will and go after him again. One hit to the eye and Christina has a hold of me. "It's not her fault or anyone's fault that they have their rankings. No one could prepare for it. Some people are in more control of their emotions than others. Have you ever thought why we can't prepare for it, Huh?" I jerk forward and Peter stands defiantly. "Ever wonder that?" he just rolls his eyes and walk out of the room with Molly and Drew in tow. I try and fight out of their grasp. Don't want to hurt them, so I don't forcefully remove them. The door slams shut and they let go of me.
"Thanks." Tris whispers to Will as I stare heatedly at the door. Christina still has a hand on me.
"Is he right?" Will asks quietly. "Are you trying to manipulate us?" I hold back from hitting him. He is from Erudite. Will is smart. What the hell?
"How on earth would I do that?" I hear her confused voice. "I'm just doing the best I can, like anyone else."
"I don't know." Will says. He is so glad that I'm not looking at him. I would not hesitate throwing him against the wall. "By Acting weak so we pity you? And then acting tough to psyche us out."
"Psych you out?" Tris says. "I'm your friend. I wouldn't do that." I turn and face Will. He seems like he is trying to think. I want to hit him. When I go to move, Christina's grip tightens on my elbow.
"Don't be an idiot, Will." She speaks up. "She's not acting." That's when she lets go of me and walks to the door. I need to punch something.
"Are you all right?" I turn and look at Tris. She is talking with Al. His face is red and he seems tired and ready to be done.
"Sure." He isn't.
"It's not over." Tris says as she looks at me. "You can improve your rank if you…" there is no hope for him. Al can't improve. Don't lie and give him false hope.
"See?" He shakes his head. "It's not that simple."
"I know it's not." Tris protests as she looks at the ground.
"I don't think you do." Al says with a sigh. "For you it's easy. All of this is easy."
"That's not true." Well, it's kind of true. She is having a better time sleeping than us, but she is what Bass says I am. That's the reason.
"Yeah, it is." He closes his eyes. "You aren't helping me be pretending it isn't. I don't-I'm not sure you can help me at all." Tris doesn't know what to say.
"I…" she tries but nothing comes.
"I just… want to be alone." He says weakly. I walk over to his bed, place my hand on his knee and nod my head.
"You're not the only one having problems with the second stage. It's more emotional. Tris and I did well because we were taught to keep our feeling pushed down and think of others." I whisper to the crying boy. He doesn't look at me. "If you need me, let me know." I tell him as I stand and follow Tris out the door. We don't talk as we walk. She lets me change into the dress and fold up my pants and shirt and set them in the cabinet where no one really goes in and we continue walking. I'm steadily shaking with anger as she seems lost. Not lost as she doesn't know where we are, but mentally. We find the place where Uriah and I found her the day we went zip lining. I think that's what Uriah called it.
"Tris, Andy." I don't turn my head as I hear Uriah's voice. I'm still shaking. "Thought I would find you here, Tris." He laughs his beautiful laugh. "I heard you took first rank from Andy." I feel him arm on my shoulder. There is a muffin in his hand.
"So you want to congratulate me?" Tris smirks. "Well, thanks." I really don't care that she is in first. I didn't get it fairly anyway.
"Someone should, Andy doesn't seem too upset." Uriah stops laughing. "And I figured your friends might not be so congratulatory." I stare at the muffin. Now that I'm out of one funk, I'm starving. "Since their ranks aren't as high. So quite moping and come with us. I'm going to shoot a muffin off of Marlene's head." I turn and look at him.
"And I thought you were just taunting me with food." I tell him sarcastically.
"What, are you hungry?" He laughs again. I roll my eyes as he smirks and Tris gets up. "Come on." He leads me away and to a door where Lynn and Marlene are waiting. I'm still shaking and I can't help but see blood on both of them. Lynn's defiant behavior and Marlene's sweet and innocent one. Two very different personalities, yet they are best friends.
"Why aren't you out celebrating?" Lynn asks. "You're practically guaranteed a top ten spot if you keep it up." She doesn't bother ask me that. Lynn thinks I'm an emotionless person right now, even though I'm shaking.
"She's too dauntless for the other transfers." Uriah smirks.
"And too Abnegation to 'celebrate." Lynn remarks.
"It's hard to break." I shrug my shoulders and Marlene smiles and Lynn rolls her eyes.
"Why are you shooting a muffin off of Marlene's head?" Tris asks. I wouldn't question it. It's Uriah and Marlene. Who really wants to know what they were thinking when it came down to this decision.
"She bet I couldn't aim well enough to hit a small object from one hundred feet." Uriah explains. "I bet her she didn't have the guts to stand there as I tired. It works out well, really." No it doesn't, but oh well. Uriah takes my hand and he has me walk with him as we walk somewhere else. We are taken to the first training room, the one with the guns. We walk in and Uriah turns on the light. The first thing I see is the guns on the table.
"They just keep these lying around?" Tris asks as she holds one up.
"Yeah, but they aren't loaded." Uriah says as he lets go of my hand and pulls up his shirt. What is he doing? He pulls it up and I see a gun sticking out of the waist band of his pants. Above the gun is a tattoo on his abs. I blink and look away before I'm able to register it and start blushing for staring at it. "Okay." He says. "Go stand in front of the target." I turn back and see Marlene just skipping to where he told her. I'm still shaking, but it's calmed down.
"You aren't seriously going to shoot at her, are you?" Tris asks. Uriah wouldn't do it unless he was good with a gun. It's not like Peter is with a knife. Damn it. A shiver goes down my spine.
"It's not a real gun." Lynn says. "It's got plastic pellets in it. The worst it'll do is sting her face, maybe give a welt. What do you think we are, stupid?" I point to Uriah.
"He is. You not so much." She smirks at me.
"Hey." He elbows me. I shrug my shoulders. "Ok, give me some room." I shake my head and go over to Lynn and Tris. Marlene sets the muffin on her head and Uriah gets ready to shoot.
"Wait!" She calls out. What? I watch as she pulls a piece off and eat it. "Mmkay." She says while chewing.
"Take your rank was good." Tris says more than asks.
"Uriah's second. I'm first. Marlene's fourth."
"You're first only by a hair." Uriah scoffs.
"Same with Andy and I." I raise an eyebrow.
"We are?"I ask. "I didn't really look at the board. I was busy getting my dress."
"Yeah, I'm probably a minute faster." Tris says and we hear Uriah make the shot.
"We both win!" Marlene shouts and I can't help but smile. I'm glad she isn't dead in real life.
"You two miss your old faction?" Lynn asks.
"Sometimes." Tris says and they both look at me. I shrug my shoulders.
"I couldn't care less about that place. Good people, most of them. But not for me." I tell them quickly as I watch Marlene pick the muffin up and eat some of it.
"Gross!" Uriah shouts and I can't help but laugh.
"Initiation's supposed to wear us down to who we really are. That's what Eric says, anyway." Lynn says as I walk over the Marlene.
"Four says it's to prepare us." Tris says as I hold out my hand to Marlene and she hands me some of the muffin and I eat it. It tastes so good.
"You too?" He cries out in a fake upset voice. I open my mouth so he can indeed see me eat it too. "Gross." Uriah is very theatrical. That's what I love about him… whatever, I thought it. I close my mouth and swallow as I walk over to Uriah.
"What? I'm starving." I laugh as I look at the gun in his hand. "Does that shot the same way?" Uriah laughs and nods his head.
"Yep, just a lot lighter. Want to try it out?" he asks with a smirk.
"Sure, it couldn't hurt." He closes the gap between us and hands me the gun.
"How's your aim?" He says as he snakes his arms around me and help me hold the gun. Like I need help, but I'm not going to protest. Being this close to him is calming me down from wanting to kill Peter.
"Better than with a knife." I tell him as he lines me up with a target.
"So you know how to use the sight." He says more than asks. "Then have at it." Uriah's hands move from me, yet he stays right next to me. I breathe in slowly and shot. I hear another sound. I turn my head and freak out. Bass, Shauna and Zeke are there in the door way. I pale and duck behind Uriah, as if he can hide me after they saw me. I still press my head and my shoulder to his back.
"I thought I heard something in here." I hear my brother say.
"Turns out it's my idiot brother." I hear Zeke add. "You're not supposed to be in here after hours. Careful, or Four will tell Eric, and then you'll be as good as scalped." I can't help but scoff. He won't dare touch us.
"Andy." I hear Bass deadpan. I slowly look over Uriah's shoulder. He is giving me his look. I did something bad. I give him a small smile.
"Sorry, I can't stand him." I tell him truthfully as I shrug and hold my hands in the air defectively. The gun is in one of them. Uriah simply turns and grabs the gun from me and puts it back and he places a hand behind me and pushes me gently over to the door. "I don't want to go over there, Four will skin me." I whisper to Uriah and he just smiles a little bit. It obviously wasn't quiet. I see my brother shake his head a little bit.
"You wouldn't tell Eric." Lynn says.
"No, I wouldn't." He says flatly. But he will chew me out. I walk past him and I don't look at him as Uriah pushes me out the door. I'm still full of energy and want to hit something. Maybe I can ask Bass if we can fight. It will give me an outlet and he can talk with me. But what if he just chews me out? I don't want that. I feel myself being shoved into the wall.
"Dang." I rub my shoulder as Uriah pushes Zeke back. As we walk, they shove each other. Sometimes getting me in it as well. Lynn is in front, marching and leading us as Marlene is sharing with Shauna her muffin. I'm hungry. Tris is with my brother behind me and I'm not sure if I should interrupt them or want to be near Bass right now.
"Are you sure she isn't your girlfriend?" Zeke asks his brother as he shoves him. I move out of the way. I have gotten used to it by now.
"Does it matter?" Uriah asks him as he shoves him back.
"You two seem rather cozy together with that gun." He smirks and Uriah mood changes slightly.
"So. I was showing her how to use it." Uriah protests his voice seems a little different.
"Sure." He shoves him. "She got great rating on her shooting. Four was willing to work with her during the capture the flag. She doesn't need your help." Zeke scoffs out as he pushes Uriah. He seems hurt. So I shove Uriah into Zeke.
"Just shut up. Your voice is giving my migraine a head ache." I mumble as I grab Uriah's hand. "How are you two related? You got all the brains, Beauty and strength. What did he get? The annoying personality?" Uriah breaks out in a fit of laughter.
"I ask my mother if she is sure of that almost every day." He says in the mist of laughter. I look at Zeke and he just rolls his eyes.
"Whatever." He mumbles as he turns down a hallway and leaving us. I can't help but smirk as Uriah looks at me.
"You're feeling better." He states.
"Not really." I shake my head. "I'm just pissed and really freaked out at the same time." Uriah's smile drops.
"What was it today?"He asks carefully.
"I watched every single one of my friends throats being slashed and I had to sit in their pooling and mixing blood as I stared at your bodies as Peter hand Molly and Drew pull out more of you." I tell him truthfully. "Then I come back and I snapped after seeing Peter pin Tris to the wall. I was tempted to kill him." Uriah doesn't say something for a moment. I'm sure Tris and Bass heard me. But I don't care. As long as Marlene didn't I'm good. Don't want to taint the innocence.
"You have one messed up mind." He says after a moment all I can do is nod.
"Yep. Four is only letting Max view them before letting the other leaders look at them, if that hasn't happened yet." I tell him. "My brain is very vivid, from what I'm told." Uriah doesn't know what to say. He just lets go of my hand and puts that arm around me. Tris runs up to me and Uriah and I smile at her as if I just didn't tell him my mind is freaky. "Hey."
"Hey.." She says a little slow. "So what are we doing?" Uriah shrugs his shoulders.
"Don't know, but Andy needs to eat and she will eat even if I have to pin her down and make her eat." I can't help blushing at hearing that. Both Tris and he laughs at my expense.
"That's not for what you're thinking." I deadpan. They don't believe me. "Last time someone pinned me to the ground, it only took two hits. One the temple and the other the eye and he was down. No one should pin me down anywhere for any reason." I tell them as I remember Eric's weight on me. "He was pissy for a while after that."
"Are you talking about Eric?" Tris asks. "He has bruises like that right now." I just press my lips together. "Why would he do that?" her voice drops at the end of her question and she looks at me as I feel Uriah's arm stiffen around me.
"He was trying to put me in my place. I taught him his place with me. Nothing happen other a few cuts and his two bruises." I tell them both. "My cuts are healed and he has to live with his for a little longer." I add with a laugh. That reminds me. I reach my hand to the small of my back. "Damn." I cuss quietly.
"What's wrong?" Uriah asks me quickly.
"Nothing, I just gave my knife to Four on the first day of stage two. He didn't give it back yet." I mumble as we walk.
"You stole a knife?" Tris asks me.
"It saved my life the night before." I shrug my shoulders. "Peter would have attacked me too if I didn't go and reach for my knife. Which means I will need it tonight. So I have to talk with Four or take another one." I lean my head on Uriah and groan. "He is going to eat me."
"I can give you my gun." Uriah suggests. "It will scare him." He says. I shake my head.
"I want to hurt him if he comes after me. A knife is more affective." They don't say anything. That's right, neither of them know my past life.
"Well, anyway." Uriah coughs. "Tris are you hungry?" he asks. Tris looks at both of us.
"No, go ahead. I'm tired." She says before walking towards the dorm.
"Oh well, more food for us." Uriah says as I lift my head off of him and I move his hand from my shoulder to hold his hand.
"I can't walk like that. Too uncomfortable." I explain before we walk to the dining hall. We walk and I feel something shift. I look at Uriah and only notice the smirk when it's too late. He turns and picks me up and throws me on his shoulder. Man, he is strong. "What are you doing?" I cry out.
"Making you feel more comfortable." He laughs out as he runs. I can't believe he can hold me like this and run. My butt is right next to his face. Now that's gross.
"You think being thrown over someone's shoulder is more comfortable." I scoff out. "You're the one with the messed up brain." All he does is laugh as I hang here. "How are you holding me anyway? I'm way too heavy for you."
"You're not heavy at all." He laughs out as he slaps the back of my legs. "Don't you even say that. You can't weigh more than 180, which is perfect for someone your height." He says. "And how weak do you think I am? I can lift a lot more than 180 pounds." I press my lips together and hit my fist against his back. He just laughs and takes me to a seat in the dining hall and sits me down. I see some other dauntless born initiates around me as Uriah sits right next to me. "Hey, you guys should know Andy." Some of them acknowledge him and me and some don't and eat. I don't want to be here. The table before me is some hot dogs and hamburgers. So I grab one of the burgers and start eating a little bit.
"Isn't she the second place of the transfers?" One person asks Uriah with a full mouth.
"Yep. She is one of the best." He rubs my back as I eat silently.
"Andy, how did you do it? Three minutes and twenty seconds. Wow." A guy asks before biting more out of his hotdog. I swallow hard.
"I don't know. I really haven't slept all week and it was making my brain slower and stuff." I tell them.
"So you didn't sleep at all and it helps you stay calmer." I shrug my shoulders. "Makes sense. I'm always slow when I don't sleep."
"You are always slow." Some cuts in and hits him in the back of the head.
"That's cool. Too bad stage two is over." He groans has he rubs his head. "I could have used it." I look at Uriah and he just laughs. So I stomp on his foot.
"Never laugh at your girl, Uri. It's not smart." Marlene whispers to him as she walks past him and sits next to me. Lynn follows her. I look at her and slowly shake my head. It's her. I can't really do much about her and her thoughts on things. So I just sit and eat as everyone else talks.
