Julius P.O.V.

April 3, 2013.

I was in the backseat of my uncle Adam's SUV. I was only nine years old. We were going to hunt deer. I was excited at the prospect of hunting a real life animal. I used be a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh, and The Jungle Book. That all changed when I survived a bear attack. I will never forget the bear attack that nearly killed me. I had a deep phobia of bears ever since. After the bear attack, I was forced to sell all of my Winnie the Pooh and Jungle Book merchandise. This is how the bear attack that nearly ended my life started.

I was listening to the song Cecilia by Simon and Garfunkel on my iPod. I used to love Simon and Garfunkel when I was a little kid. I still do now. Sitting next to me was my 14 year old cousin Lucy Blackwood. She was a cousin from my maternal side of my family. Lucy had fiery red hair that was straight. She was pretty back then. We were driving in the Pennsylvanian woods. My maternal uncle as well as my paternal uncle live in the state of Pennsylvania. The woods were a popular hunting grounds for various wildlife such as deer and bears. It was deer season.

My uncle Adam was a pretty enthusiastic hunter. He had brown hair, like me. He wore thick glasses. I loved my uncle Adam. I still do. We were driving through the woods. We soon found a clearing. Uncle Adam parked his car. It was just him. Adam was originally going to ask my father to come along with us to hunt deer. My dad wasn't really into hunting. So, it was just my Uncle Adam, me and my cousin Lucy that went hunting. We got out my uncle's car. The woods were beautiful. It was like a Bob Ross painting come to life.

Me, Uncle Adam and Lucy went our separate ways. Me and Lucy walked into the woods. Lucy had a 9 mm pistol, while I had my jade knife. I was going to skin the deer while Lucy was going to shoot and kill the deer. What we encountered instead wasn't a deer. It was a bear. We were walking through the woods, when all of a sudden, a giant black bear appeared right in front of us. We were surprised and shocked at the same time. None of us dared to go close to that bear. The black bear stood motionless for a few seconds. Then he started to run towards me and my cousin Lucy.

Something must've triggered the bear to attack and go after me and my cousin Lucy. I don't know exactly what. It must've thought we were going to kill it. The bear acted like he was possessed by the devil. He slashed his claws against my chest. Blood instantly spurted out of my chest. I ran very fast away from the bear. I was bleeding profusely from the wound. I was screaming and crying. I tried to look for my uncle Adam. I eventually saw uncle Adam. When he saw me and Lucy covered in lacerations, he was horrified.

"OH MY GOD!" Uncle Adam said to us. We immediately got into the car and drove to the nearest hospital. The doctors in the hospital operated on me and Lucy. I was unconscious due to blood loss. I woke up several hours later with the left side of my chest in stitches. The bear slashed me diagonally across the left side of my chest. I was thankful that I survived the bear attack. My cousin Lucy on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. The slash marks the bear made to her chest was so bad that one of her breasts had to be partially amputated. After the bear accident, I developed a long standing phobia of bears. I was forced to sell all of my Winnie the Pooh and Jungle Book merchandise on eBay.

I still carry the scars of the event. My cousin Lucy ended up dying a few years later due to complications associated with the bear attack.

The Sly Cooper world. An Indian hospital. Present Day.

A fifteen year old human kid slowly woke up. He looked around to find himself in a hospital bed. The last thing that Julius remembered before blacking out was that he was fighting a female spider during a party. The spider injected her venom into Julius before he passed out. He couldn't remember much else after that. His mind was a haze. Julius looked around the hospital room. It was the worst thing that the human boy had ever endured in his lifetime. He felt like he had a major hangover. Julius saw a nurse checking over his vitals. It was a male cheetah. Julius breathed slowly. He rose his back up.

"Where am I?" Julius asked.

"You're in the hospital." the cheetah said to the human. "I'm doctor Brown. I will be your nurse for today."

"What happened to me?" Julius asked the doctor.

"It appeared that you had a high level of nuerotoxins that were in your bloodstream." the doctor said to Julius. "Me and a team of doctors had managed to drain most of the neurotoxins from your bloodstream, though not all of it."

"That's a relief." Julius said to the doctor.

"You almost died." The doctor said to me. "You had a very high dose of neurotoxins in your body."

"I was fighting a giant spider woman at a party." Julius explained to the cheetah doctor. "Her name was the Contessa. She was hypnotizing my brother Tommy. She tried to deny it, but I wasn't having it and I tackled the spider woman. She must've injected me with her neurotoxins. I don't remember anything after that."

When the human boy was done explaining how he got nuerotoxins into his body to the doctor, the doctor said, "You're very lucky to be alive, you know. Most people would've never survived having nuerotoxins in their body, Julius."

The doctor exited the room. Julius lay there for a while. The doctor was right. Julius really was lucky to be alive. It wasn't everyday that a boy survived a bear attack and having neurotoxins in their body.
