Here's the next chapter. Sorry for the wait, I found a book trilogy that is really good. I have been reading books nonstop.

Disclaimer: I don't own Divergent.

Chapter 19: Divergent Rebels

I walk down the hall by myself. I had a good nap thanks to Uriah. But now I want to be alone and walk with Bass to the dining hall. I need to talk with him and see what he knows why they walked in pale. I walk to his door and knock. Why am I knocking? I open the door and find a shirtless Bass in bed with a sleeping Tris. I blink once, shake my head and look at my brother. What he does with Tris isn't my problem as long as she doesn't come to me crying, then I will kick his ass.

"Just heading to the dining hall and wanted to talk to you about something." I whisper as I walk in and slow shut the door, but keep my hand on the handle in case he wants me to leave.

"What about?" He asks as he sits up and shifts her head to the pillow.

"The leaders came in pale." I state. "Uriah told me that something unsettled them." He stands up and finds his shirt off the floor and pulls it on.

"It was how you acted in it. Defiant and downright masochistic." I'm confused. "When he was beating me you shouted do your worst."

"I couldn't calm down, so I tried breaking the thing. I thought if I stood up to it and faced it and acted like it didn't affect me it would go away." I explain. "It did." Bass nods and sits on the bed looking at me.

"What was up with the spitting? Someone was coming after you." He asks. "That's what got them the most."

"Dad was trying to rape me." Why bother lying? "I bite down on his hand that was caressing my face and bitten down as hard and as long as I could. Blood poured into my mouth, so I spat at him. Then I choked him to death." Bass shakes his head.

"That got them the most. You're more of a masochistic than me." I shrug my shoulders.

"Hopefully now Eric won't screw with me anymore. Hopefully they all let me be and we all live with each other." I state a little annoyed. "I'm glad no one else saw it."

"Me too." He says as Tris stirs. He looks at her.

"How is she?" I ask.

"Fine. Just tired." I nod.

"Well, it's time to go. She can sleep after getting the first rank." I tell him. Bass reaches over and places a hand on her cheek.

"Tris, time to get up." He says like he used to say to me. Her head moves before her eyes open.

"Ok, Tobias." She says as she sits up. Her eyes met mine and I give her a small smile.

"Good morning sleepy head. Ready to piss Peter off some more?" I ask her and she laughs tiredly.

"Yeah, let's go." She says with a yawn and stands up. "What are you doing in here anyway?"

"What? I can't talk to my brother about my fearscape. Sorry sister, he was mine first and I call dibs in telling him stuff." I scoff. "If you like that mug, then you can have everything else." I joke as I move to the door. Out of the corner of my eye I see something flying at me. I move to the side as the sweatshirt hits the door. I turn and look at him. "Excuse me?"

"If you haven't noticed, we look a lot alike." He states and I roll my eyes and pick up the sweatshirt.

"But I look better." I tell him as I pull on his sweatshirt. "Sorry bubby, but you just lost your sweatshirt." I tell him before opening the door and walking out. Tris follows out laughing.

"I'm not sure, but isn't that supposed to be my job?" She asks as Bass walks out and shuts the door.

"No, I steal the sweat shirts and you are given them. Two separate ways of receiving." I tell her as I zip it up. It stops right under my chest and I struggle to get it up.

"Don't stretch it out." Bass mumbles as I try to zip it.

"Come on I'm able to fit the ones from back home." I groan as I try and zip. Tris offers a hand and forces it up and it's really tight around the chest. "Crap."

"Abnegation clothes are a huge compared to Dauntless clothes. I thought you knew that by now." Bass seems upset.

"But I thought that you and I were the same size." I mumble. "Guess not." We walk along the hall to the pit in silence. I'm not excited, but I am. Not for myself, but for Tris, Will, and everyone else. I know I won't be kicked out not after my fearscape today. I shake my head as we get to the pit. No one is there. "Come on, the Dining hall is going to be loud." I whine.

"Dauntless gathering. People drunk and loud. Get used to it." Bass tells me.

"But I hate loud noises." I protest. "Can I get some ear plugs or something so my ears don't bleed every time they get loud?"

"Face your fear." He deadpans. "That's what Dauntless is all about." Well, you're no help. He stops suddenly and she keeps walking. What?

"Come on, he likes going in without us." Tris says as she back tracks grabs my hand and pulls me into the dining hall. It's way too loud in here for my liking. She drags me to the table and I don't see Uriah. My heart sinks as we sit down.

"Where did you two go?" Christina asks. "Everyone else went back to the dormitory."

"I just wandered around." Tris speaks up. "I was too nervous to talk to everyone else about it."

"You have no reason to be nervous." Christina says. "I turned around to talk to Will for one second and you were already done." I doubt that is really what happened. "Same with you, except you like cussing… a lot." I shrug my shoulders.

"You would too if you had my fears." I state quietly.

"So where did you go?" She asks.

"Uriah kidnapped me and took me to his dorm and I hung out with Lynn and Marlene before passing out. Then I found Tris and we came here." I explain. "Anything else you care to know?"

"Someone's cranky."Christina rolls her eyes.

"What job are you going to pick?" Tris asks to prevent her from saying anything else. She turns and drops it.

"I'm thinking I might want a job like Four's. Training initiates."She laughs. "Scaring the living daylights out of them. You know, fun stuff. What about you?" She asks Tris.

"I guess… I could be an ambassador to the other factions." Tris tells her with some thought. "I think being a transfer would help me."

"I was hoping you would say Dauntless-leader-in-training" Christina says. "Because that's what Peter wants. He couldn't shut up about it in the dorm earlier."

"And it's what I want." Will speaks up. "Hopefully I ranked higher than him… oh and all the dauntless- born initiates. Forgot about them." He groans. "Oh God. This is going to be impossible."

"No, it isn't." Christina puts a hand on his and they lace their fingers. I wish I could be so open with Uriah. Then she looks at me. "What about you, Quiet?" I shrug my shoulders.

"I don't know. Do what Four does in the control room. It looks cool in there." I tell her. She nods and then remembers something.

"Question." Christina looks at Tris. "The leaders who were watching your fear landscape…they were laughing about something." What?

"Oh." I watch Tris bite her lip. "I'm glad my terror amuses them."

"Any idea which obstacle it was?" She asks.

"No." crap, she just lied to the Former Candor.

"You're lying." Christina tells her. "You always bite the inside of you cheek when you lie. It's your tell." Well, it is. "Will's is pinching his lips together, if it makes you feel better." I laugh a little before asking. Will covers his mouth.

"What's mine?" I ask amused.

"Depend on which drastic mood you're in. You are normally truthful when your quiet but when your explosive, it's your eyes. They narrow a bit." I smile and laugh.

"That's cool. You need to teach me how to tell." She nods and looks at Tris.

"Okay, fine. I was afraid of…intimacy." Tris admits. What?

"Intimacy, like… Sex?" Christina asks. I place my arm around Tris's shoulder. It makes sense after all she is from Abnegation. I'm afraid of hurting my friends. Will laughs.

"What was that like?" Christina asks. "I mean, did someone just… try to do it with you? Who was it?" I feel her body tense. It was my brother. I bit my lips and lower my head.

"Oh, you know, Faceless… Unidentifiable male." Tris says smoothly. "How were your moths?"

"You promised you would never tell!" Christina cries.

"Moths." Will smiles. "You're afraid of moths?"

"Not just a cloud of moths." She defends. "Like a swarm of them. Everywhere. All those wings and legs and…" She shudders.

"Terrifying." He says in a fake serious tone. "That's my girl. Tough as cotton balls."

"Oh shut up." She snaps and shakes her head and looks at me. "Now you. You seemed to freak Eric and Max out a little bit." I shrug my shoulders.

"My father was trying to rape me." I tell her truthfully. "I bit his hand and then spat the blood into his face and then right after that, choked him with a belt." Christina and Will's mouth hangs open. "What?"

"You get very violent and scary when you're afraid." Will states slowly. "Well, you seem violent most of the time. Maybe you would do a better job as a leader or trainer."

"That would be so cool. Chris and Andy scaring the crap out of the initiates." Christina laughs and I roll my eyes.

"Maybe, but I will probably stick with Four." I tell her.

"What do you like him or something? You seem to fight a lot." She asks. Tris and I can't help but cough and choke.

"No way in hell will I like him like that." I cough out. "Four is more like the annoying mentor that you learned to love… or put up with." I feel tears fill my eyes and Tris pats my back. "I feel like I'm going to puke." I look at Christina. "That is just gross."

"Wow you either really like him or can't stand him." She states then she looks at the sweater. "When did you get a sweatshirt?"

"Since I stole it from my brother." I tell her as I recover. I glance at Tris and she is a little confused. "You were right there when he throw it at me."

"You met her brother?" Will asks.

"Briefly two days ago." I tell them. Then I hear a loud squeal and I cover my ears. Tris does the same.

"We aren't big on speeches here. Eloquence is for Erudite." He seems as snotty as most of them. The crowd laughs. "So I'm going to be short. It's a new year, and we have a pack of initiates. And a slightly smaller pack of new members. We offer them our congratulations." I have to cover my ears again when the room gets loud again. "We believe in bravery. We believe in taking action. We believe in freedom from fear and in acquiring the skills to force the bad out of our world so that the good can prosper and thrice. If you also believe in those things, we welcome you." I believe in standing up and taking action against the wrong and bad done in the world. I can't help but smile a little bit. "Tomorrow, in their first act as members, our top ten initiates will choose their professions, in the order of how they are ranked."Eric looks around the room and pauses. "The rankings, I know, are what everyone is really waiting for. They are determined by a combination of three scores- the first, form the combat stage of training; second, from the simulations stage; and the third, from the final examination, the fear landscape. There rankings will appear on the screen behind me." Tris, I know she will be in first place. Christina and Will and Uriah stays. Lynn and Marlene, they can't kick them out. They are dauntless, two extreme ends, but still they are dauntless. I look up at the screen and sigh. Tris is first and I'm second. A good person to come after. I smile. Uriah is third then Lynn and Marlene. Peter is after them and then Will and Christina. There are two more dauntless born that I met before. I glance at Christina cries and Will hugs Tris tight. I slip my arm away just in time so I don't get broken or something. Then Christina reaches over the table and hugs Tris as well. I'm so proud of them. Suddenly, I feel arms wrap around my waist. What the hell?

"Congratulations."Uriah whispers into my ear. "Your second place."

"You too, on third."I whisper back to him.

"Sorry I wasn't over here. I wanted to be able to do this." His arms leave me and he grabs Tris and shouts. "Congratulations!" I laugh and cover my ears again. It's way too loud for me.

"Congratulations." Tris shouts and I bury my head into the table.

"You beat them!" Uriah laughs and I feel him grabbing me again. "Here." I feel something in my hand and I look at them. Ear plugs. "See you later tonight." He kisses my neck and runs off. I feel blush rush to my cheeks and turn and try to look for him. I turn and see Christina and Will busy kissing and look at Tris and I see my brother looking at me. I shrug my shoulders and then acted grossed out and wipe my neck like crazy.

"Gross." I tell him and he rolls his eyes and Tris looks at him. She stands and smiles.

"You think giving you a hug would give away too much?" He asks her.

"You know, I don't care." I watch as she kisses him and I gag.

"God, have some decency." I gag and sit on the table and shut my eyes.

"Tris." Bass says. I open my eyes and see Tris looks worried.

"Not now." She says quickly. "Later, okay." He nods and I take the time to embarrass him. So I stand up and hug him, resting my head on his shoulder.

"How you feel having your annoying little sister here to pick on you?" I whisper with a smirk. Bass pushes me off of him and I smirk harder.

"God, save me." He groans and Tris and I laugh. She must have heard me. The room is getting too loud for me and I remember the ear plugs. I slip them in and Bass rolls his eyes. "I told you needed to deal with it."

"Where did you get ear plugs from?" Tris asks with a laugh.

"Uriah slipped them to me." I tell her as I get the last on in. That's better. I stay with Tris until this thing gets too much for her and she leaves.

000

"I need to talk with him." I hear her groan as we walk by ourselves back to the dorm.

"What's wrong?" I ask her. She shakes her head.

"I… figured out something." She whispers as we walk into the dorm room. "The shots we got." I nod. "Aren't… what Eric said they were."

"When is Eric ever truthful?" I shake my head and open my drawer and pull out my shorts and tank top from when we first got there. We are the only ones in here, so I change. Tris is like a sister so I don't care. I strip on the sweatshirt and throw it on her bed. "What is it? Some sort of Simulation?" I pull off my shirt.

"How you know?" Tris seems confused.

"Color, I only been to a hospital twice, but I never seen something with color in a needle that wasn't a simulation." I tell her as I take my pants off, showing off all my tattoos now. I take the knife and place it on the bed.

"Did you know Eric and Max are working with Erudite?" I shake my head.

"Nope. But I wouldn't put it past them. Something was off when they came in, though." I grab my tank top and pull it on. It ends right at my hip. "I don't give a shit for Eric."

"He isn't good at all." She bites her lip.

"He is looking for what you and I are, right?" I ask her as I slip on my shorts. Tris looks at me as if I said something bad.

"What?" She whispers as her eyes widen.

"Don't worry. There is no cameras or anything like that in here. I asked." I tell her as slip the knife into my waistband and throw my clothes in the drawer, but keep the sweatshirt out. "Bass told me that Eric hunts people like me and you." She stares at me. "Yet, I don't know what that is." I shrug my shoulders. "So why would they want to control us?" Tris shakes her head.

"War. War on abnegation." She says quietly.

"The only person there I want dead is my father." I lean on the ladder. "Killing him in my fearscape wasn't enough."

"This is war on our former faction, Andy." She pushes.

"I know. We will stop it one way or another, right now we can't do anything. I just hope that they don't touch him until I have my chance." I deadpan. "War. Why?"

"Tobias didn't figure that out. He is good at computers." She says.

"He's smart. I trust his judgment. Is he concern?" I ask.

"Not showing it." Tris bites her lip and looks to the floor. "I'm worried about my family."

"Sometimes, it's not good to worry about things we cannot control. Worry when you can control it. All we can do is pray for their safety and hope for the best." I tell her as the doors open and Christina and Will walk in. The conversation drops.

"Back in the sexy shorts again." Christina laughs and I roll my eyes.

"What?" I ask her when grab the pants from the drawer and pull them on. Didn't think of that. "These make my legs look longer and I don't need that." I mumble as I lean over and grab the sweatshirt and pull it on. "I will see you later." I tell them as I zip it up. Again, I have problems with the chest and Christina and Will laughs.

"Your boobs are too big for that. It was remarkable it didn't break during…" Will laughs and I flip him off.

"Andy, deal with it." Christina laughs as Tris comes over and helps me.

"I will tell him you need to talk with him." I whisper to her and she nods as she gets it up. "See ya." I walk to the door.

"Where you going?" Christina asks.

"Probably get drunk with Lynn and Uriah." I call out before shutting the door. Now let's go look in his dorm room. I walk the only route I know. Through the hell hole that we know as the pit. I walk towards the hall and hear someone shout my name. I turn and look around. Uriah is on the other side of the pit with Lynn and Marlene. I wave and start to walk over there, until a feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn and my right hand covers my knife. It's Eric.

"Congratulations… on second rank." I turn and face him as he leads me away from the group and to a hallway.

"Thank you." I nod. "What do you want?" I ask him bluntly.

"You have always been in second place." Eric states and looks me up and down. I lift up both shirts and flash him the handle, warning. He swallows and looks back at my face and I drop my shirts. "Even though you deserve first."

"I am happy with my rank, Eric." I tell him firmly and he nods as we enter the hallway.

"But you have always been second place. When Edward left, you should have been ranked first in the next two stages. You are more dauntless than anyone this year." He says calmly. This isn't the Eric I know, this sounds like the Erudite doctors and teacher I learn to hate.

"I am happy with my rank, Eric. Tris is a worthy opponent and I am honored to come behind her." I tell him slowly before shaking his hand off of me.

"Is that how you really feel, Andy? You are not even a little jealous of her?" He is trying to manipulate me.

"Eric, Tris is like a sister to me now. I am very proud of her and I am not jealous of my best friend and teammate. Don't we have the same goal? If we do, what does it matter what rank we got? What should matter is helping the other completing the task at hand so we can bring security and freedom to the city." I tell him slowly. "I am honored to come under someone that worked her ass off to get through initiation. Coming from the sixth rank all the way to first. Then I am honored to be under her. I had talent. She has skill." My voice is low. "IS there anything else you need from me? or am I free to leave?"

"One more thing." Eric says with a sigh. "How do you do it?"

"Excuse me?" I narrow my eyes at him.

"How are you able to get so violent and be able to defend yourselves in the mist of fear like that?" He asks with a hint of curiosity. I look at him hard.

"Your Erudite is showing." I mumble as I go to walk off.

"What?" He snaps. I turn and look at him with bored eyes, yet I'm really frightened.

"I have taught myself to react in fight instead of flight a long time ago. I learned how to defend myself through experience and I know how it feels to being dying." I look at him with an emotionless face. "Even though you're a leader of dauntless, I have seen and experience more than you. Your little polished hands and smart brain won't even imagine the things that go through my head." I turn and walk. "Eric, keep the Erudite out of Dauntless. We are brave not stupid." He doesn't follow me. My heart is racing and I think. I am afraid of him. Well, not him. But what he does. Bully the weak. My first fear. Bass isn't weak, but at the time, he was weak at the time. I get to the end of the hall and run into Uriah. His hand wraps around my waist and he takes me away from the hall.

"You okay?" He asks as we walk. I nod slowly and swallow. "What was Eric trying to do?"

"Eric congratulating me and then trying to get me to hate Tris." I whisper to him as I lean into him. "I don't like people preying on the weak."

"You're okay now. I got you." He says as we push through people until we get to the Dauntless born initiates.

"Andy!" I smile as they shout my name. The guy that asked me how I got my time comes over and hugs me tightly. I pat his back awkwardly. "Great job." His mouth stinks. He is drinking. The guy pulls away and goes to kiss me. I put a hand to his chest and push him back.

"None of that." I tell him firmly. Uriah laughs and grabs me again.

"You're not her type, Greg." He tells him.

"And you are?" Greg laughs and Uriah rolls his eyes. After the talk with Tris and then Eric, I feel safe with Uriah. I don't want to leave his side tonight.

000

I wake up to some movement. I open my eyes and look around. Marlene, Lynn, Greg and the other dauntless born initiates are awake. I look at Uriah and he is sleeping normally. I feel asleep at the foot of his bed because I was too tired and a little intoxicated to care. I still feel the drink on broad, but I got to figure this out. I watch as they pull on their shoes.

"What the hell?" I rub the back of my neck. "Uriah?" I kick him as he jerks awake.

"What!" He looks around and I point at his friends. Uriah turns and looks at them.

"What are they doing?" I ask as I sit up.

"Um…I don't know, but it can't be good." He says. I remain sitting as he gets up and walks over to Lynn. I watch and he punches her in the back and nothing happens. "They aren't there. She would never let me do that." He says as he walks over to me.

"Uriah, what's going on?" I ask him as he pulls on a jacket and shoes.

"I'm going to figure it out. You can come if you want." I nod and crawl out of bed and pull on my brother's jacket and zip it up and much as I can. "Need some help?" Uriah smirks and I slap his hands away.

"Knock it off. I'm freaking out right now." I snap at him.

"Sorry, your right." He says as they finish getting ready and walk to the door. I watch them carefully. My head is a little slow right now, but they are walking together, in sync.

"Uriah, they are walking in sync." I whisper out.

"What does that mean?" He asks as he tries to look.

"They are walking together." I reword.

"Then let's follow." He walks out with them. I don't know what to do, so I follow the best I can. This doesn't seem right, am I missing something? I have to be missing something. I walk close to Uriah and try to look around. There is a long file of Dauntless ahead, and we aren't heading to the pit.

"Andy?" I don't know what to do. It sounds like Eric. Bass would have called me by Ann. "Andy." I feel a hand on my shoulder and he turns me around.

"What's going on?" I ask him as I search his eyes. This is his doing. He smiles.

"You're not supposed to be in this hall. This is the Dauntless born initiates hall." He says after a moment.

"I was with them. What's going on?" I ask him again. "Everyone is like… I don't know. They aren't there." Eric nods as if it's a story. "You're behind this. Now tell me what's going on." I demand and he laughs.

"You're smart enough to figure it out." He says as his hand grips my shoulder. My right hand flies to my hip and his other hand grabs my hand. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." He smirks and he moves my hand and lifts up my shirts and grabs the handel and pull up. "Nice tattoo." Eris laughs. I breathe in and let it out quickly. What is this about… Tris.

"This is the injections doing." I breathe out as he laughs. "You're going to have them..." my mouth drops as I look at the wall next to him. "Kill the people of Abnegation."

"How did you figure it out? I am really curious." Eric asks in a mocking tone.

"Think about it. You're really Erudite and what have they done lately, calling for Abnegation to back down. Why involve Dauntless unless you want people to…die." I choke on the last part.

"You know how to act stupid." Eric yanks me forward and pushes me to follow the group of mindless people and Uriah. I hope he remains like that. I don't want Eric to get to him. My heart rate quickens.

"I am stupid. I just have a lot of common sense, Eric." I mouth off. The blade of the knife appears in front of my throat.

"I wouldn't mouth off to me. I hold your life in my hands." He hisses into my ear.

"Kill me." I snap pushing into the knife and he pulls it away.

"Not allowed. Jeanine wants you alive." Eric mumbles. "Your more valuable alive." He puts the point to my back and pushes me forward.

"Why?" I ask him. "I'm just a girl from Dauntless."

"Your mind is what she wants to see." He tells me. "Be quiet." I shut my mouth. I need to get away, but right now isn't the best. So I listen to him. After walking a few minutes, Eric leads me into a big room I never been in and there are a lot of dauntless in here and guns. I need to get one. I look around to see if I find my brother. I shake my head and breathe in faster. I have to remain calm. I see Tris. Part of me wants to run over to her, but I can't. I don't want her to get hurt. I watch her though. Her movements are the same as everyone else. So she has to be awake. She just has to be. "Max, I found one." I turn and look in front of me as Max turns around. He seems surprised.

"You're a divergent?" He asks.

"What?" I never heard of that word. My eye brows furrow together. "Divergent?"

"She's awake, Max." Eric deadpans. "It doesn't take a genius to put it together." Max rolls his eyes and look at me closer.

"A divergent is someone that thinks differently and is unaffected to simulations." He says to me. I watch as he picks up a gun from one of the tables and puts it on me. "They are rebels." I don't know why, but I'm not scared.

"Jeanine wants her alive." Eric acts like it's no big deal that there is a gun to my head. Max removes the gun from my forehead.

"I still don't understand. I think like a Dauntless." I state as he sets the gun on the table.

"You are still unaffected by the simulation." Max says as he looks at him. "Do what she told you to do." Eric nods and grabs a gun and puts the knife in his waistband and holds the gun to my back.

"I can still injure you, so don't tempt me." He hisses as he pushes me forward. I let him lead me out and to the train. "Get on." Eric says as he removes the gun from my back. I have to do as he says. Once in my old faction, I can run. I run and jump on. Some hands grab me and pull me up and for a moment I think people are awake. But when I look up. I see blank faces.

"Damn it." I groan.

"You're the only one it looks like." Eric says as he places the gun on me again.

"Andy is a divergent?" I turn and see a woman in black.

"I wouldn't have guessed." The man next to her says. "She acted like a true dauntless, especially with those fears." He shakes his head.

"She is good at acting." Eric says and he pushes me over to them.

"This is easier to work with." The woman says. It's too dark to see her features. "You don't have to drag her ass to the headquarters now."

"What?" I look at Eric. He decks me in the face and I fall to the ground at the two's feet.

"I told you to shut up." He hisses.

"I will kill you, Eric. I promise you. I will kill you." I get kicked in the ribs for that.

"Doubt that. The chances are low." Eric hits the barrel of the gun on my hip. "Get up." I bite my lip and push myself up.

"Smart, using her fear of death against her." The woman remarks. I get to my feet and look around. It's dark, but I can make out some faces. My eyes scan the faces and my body stiffens when I see Bass. I want to call out, but I can't. I move my eyes down and I see Tris is there. They both look gone, but I know Tris isn't. I have to get out of here. They have to get out of here. It was no accident that they are in this train. I turn to the opening and we are passing the factionless part of the city. If I run out, I can be free. So before I can think I run towards the door. I hear the shot before feeling it. I let out a scream as my body falls forward and my torso is the only part the gets out of the car. I try to grab to the railing to throw my body out, but something grabs my foot and pulls me in. I bite my lip so hard that my lip ring hurts so I have to stop. Tears form in my eyes from the pain in my right hip. I am rolled over and Eric crouches over me.

"You shouldn't have done that. I can hurt you as much as I want. I know you can handle a beating." Eric smirks and hits me with the butt of the gun and I try to hold in a cry, but it's hurt.

"B… Four!" I cry out. Please let him be awake, he has a gun. He can kill them. "Four!" I cry out and the three laugh.

"He is out cold, kid. He can't help you." The man mocks me. My hand moves to my hip and I feel my blood. I glare at Eric.

"FOUR!" I scream out again, but this time it was a distraction. I move my injured leg and kick him in the face. Eric falls on his ass and I struggle to roll over and stand up. By the time I'm up, someone has me by the hair and I let tears fall. "SHIT!" They laugh as Eric stands up and walks in front of me. He wipes the blood from his nose and looks at me. The other person grabs my hands and I am forces to stand. I can't do anything; the pain in my right leg is too much. Eric balls up a fist and hits me right in the jaw. My head snaps to the side and I cry more. "FOUR, help!" I whimper out after the third hit. "Please. I can't move." My body starts to shake as Eric caresses my face. Bass is really out cold. He shouldn't be. But he is.

"He isn't going to save you, Andy." Eric says in a fake soft voice. "Just accept it." I feel his hand grab my zipper and unzip it. My heart beats out of my chest.

"Stop it!" I scream as I try to thrash. It's too painful. He smirks as he finishes.

"What? To stiff to let someone see you? You walked out of the dorm room with no pants on." He asks in a mocking voice as he hand starts to pull my shirt up.

"I have shorts on and no, I was hoping to sleep." I snap as his hands travel to my bra. "But now have to deal with the most disgusting man in the world try to feel me up." I growl. Eric's hand stops and his eyes lock with mine. "You heard me. You're an ugly piece of shit." I gather the spit in my mouth and spit him in the eyes. His hands leaves my shirt as he wipes his face clean. I stand there pinned back with my shirt over my chest, growling at Eric.

"You bitch." He cusses out.

"Don't you dare touch me you piece of shit. I only let people worthily touch me." The train slows down as Eric recovers.

"Can you hold her? I will end up raping and killing her fat ass." He snaps.

"Look who's talking, at least I am supposed to have curves." I hiss out. The train stops.

"Sure, I wouldn't blame you." The man says as I am being push off the train. My mouth can't hold back the scream. I land on my face and I push myself up slowly. My hair is grabbed again and I am yanked up.

"Shit, that hurts." I snap as I am being pushed forward by a gun.

"Too bad, rebel." He says.

"I am no rebel. I am a confused as hell little girl. And no one is explaining anything to me." I growl out. "If someone explains it to me, I might be more willing to help." Not.

"You know what's going on, WE are killing your faction, family and friends." I scoff at Eric's comment.

"What family and friends? This isn't my faction any more. I finished Initiation. Dauntless is my faction, unless dauntless are being killed, then my faction isn't going to die." I smart off as I walk. "Why are you doing this? Pure hatred? I won't help if that's the case."

"You think I'm going to tell a bratty girl like you?" Eric laughs. "Just keep walking." With each step, a shock of pain runs through me and blood drops down my leg. I will need to bandage it up when I get a chance. They will find me with the blood trail. So I will have to run into a house, grab the medical kit from under the bathroom sink. Wrap a cloth around my leg, grab a few knives and run to the closet and shut the door. Once in there, I will pop the vent open and climb on the roof and crawl my way to the back of the roof and shimmy my way down with the gutter. I did that one time before. All house are the same so this should be fun, and painfully. I shake my head and look around and see people pulling people I know very well being pulled out by Dauntless. They all work with my father. The counsel men… I watch as one is brought to her knees in front of me and a Dauntless I don't know holds the gun to her head and shots. Blood splatters on me as we walk along. My feet stumble and I catch myself at the last moment. They are killing Counsel Men. "You recognize any of them?" I can't help but let tears of mourning fall down my face.

"I'm not helping you anymore." I choke out. "Sick cruel people." They all laugh.

"That's the price that has to be paid to fix something broken." The woman says. All around me mindless Dauntless walk around, pulling people out and killing them. I stop when they stop so I can look around at the horror. All I see is gray and black. The gray on the ground and black above them.

"This is insane." I hear the man that had the gun on me say. I turn and see Tris. He pokes her cheek. Don't move, please.

"They really can't see us? Or hear us?" The woman asks.

"Oh, they can see and hear. They just aren't processing what they see and hear the same way." Eric smirks. "Andy, what's the matter?" He asks in a sick mocking voice.

"Tris isn't there. She's gone." I whisper as I lean on my left leg. I look at him. "Why are you doing this to her?" He rolls his eyes.

"They receive commands from our computers in the transmitters we injected them with and carry them out seamlessly." Eric touches her neck. "This is what it looks like to be under the simulation." My face pales as I notice Bass.

"You ass. That's not freedom." I snap at Eric. The man next to me takes the butt of his gun and hits my right hip. I can't hold in the scream as I fall to the ground.

"Now this is a happy sight." Eric smiles."The legendary Four. No one is going to remember that I came in second now, are they? No one's going to ask me, 'what was it like to train with the guy who has only four fears?" my eyes widen as he pulls his gun and places it on my brother's temple.

"They ask you that?" I stutter out. "They won't let you forget?" I ask in hopes he will think I actually am jealous of Tris. "Will people ask me about Tris?" I ask in a shaking voice. Eric looks at me.

"I know your acting, you bitch." Eric looks at the woman. "Think anyone, who matters, would notice it he accidently got shot?" I breath in slowly. I got to do something. I don't want him to die in front of me. What if I run? What if I run and distract them? That should work. I push myself up to my knees slowly.

"Go ahead." She says. "He's nothing now." Eric smirks.

"Too bad you didn't just take Max up on his offer, Four. Well too bad for you, anyway." I listen as the bullets falls into place. I slowly stand up. Everyone is focused on Bass and Eric. Even Tris. I look at her and her face is turning red. I look at my brother and he is staring at me, blankly. But his hand is twitching. He's awake. Suddenly, Tris's gun is aimed at Eric's forehead.

"Get your gun away from his head." She is awake. This is good.

"You won't shoot me." Eric says simply.

"Interesting theory." I hear her say and then she move her arm down and shoots. This is my chance. I run right into the house in front of me hit the kitchen first and grab some of the cutting knives. Then I run up the stairs and into the bathroom and I hear a scream come from his throat. I open the cabinet and pull out the first aid kit and scissors. I grab the wrap and gauze and run into the closet and shut the door. I hear another shot and I pull my shorts down and gasp seeing the wound. I reach my fingers in and pull out the bullet and throw it on the ground and shove the gauze in there and warp the warp around both of my hips. God, it hurts! I pull up my shorts and slip the knives and scissors between the waistband and warp as I hear someone run up the stairs. I stand up and break the vent open. It's not as loose as the one at my old house, but it breaks and I pull myself up into the sill and roll onto the roof as someone opens the door to the closet. I stumble and run to the side of the house and find the gutter and grab it. Come on. I hang myself over the edge as I hear someone look out the window.

"You bitch." It's Eric. I grab the gutter and climb down and run as fast as I can. Where is Tris and Bass? I run down the yards and look at the streets to see if I can see them. The pain is slowly dulling as the adrenaline rushes through me. That's good, I guess. I run and I see someone surrounded and I stop. There's two people and it's them. What am I going to do? That's my brother and sister. Faction over blood my ass. I run towards the group and I deck the first person I can and grab their gun and look at my brother. He doesn't look happy to see me.

"Blood over faction." I tell him as I aim it at someone next to me and get ready to shoot. I'm outnumbered by a lot, but I still shoot. They will only react if they are told. The gun falls out of the wounded solder as some of them point their guns at me. I move the barrel and point it at another as soon as the gun starts to fall. I feel a barrel pushed into my back and I know who it is.

"Drop the gun or I will you paralyzed from the waist down." He hisses into my ear.

"Then you won't have your fun with me Eric." I growl out before dropping the gun.

"Divergent rebels, Surrender your weapons." Eric says to Tris and Bass as he removes the gun from my back and wraps a hand around my hip. I bite out in pain as they do as they are told.

"I will kill you." I hiss.
