JF39 - Are you following my story The Adventure of a Lifetime and do you watch international cycling? Where I live, the town I changed the name of in my story, held an international cycling race over the weekend 28-29th Jan. I read in our local paper, the race aired in like 23 countries. It gave some beautiful aerial shots of the bay and the scene where the first two chapters of the story take place :)

If you're not following my page on Facebook, you also missed out on seeing all the excitement. We had some major flash flooding (and a nasty storm) which wrecked havoc only a few days beforehand. (My daughter and I were swimming in the surf beach near home when it hit, getting home was CHAOS) Receiving 92mm in just ninety minutes.. Shared some of the viral videos of the havoc to my page. There you will see story updates and some relevant news content.

You can find me on facebook by searching MummaBear1 and my page pic is pink silhouette of a mother and baby.

Oh and no updates for ten days, until Feb13th. I am having more surgery and my mum is coming to stay to take care of us.

When Ducky had let himself back into Tim's hospital room, knocking first and giving them ample time to stop anything that they may have been doing behind a closed door and closed curtain. Not that they should have because Tim was still rather beat up, but he didn't know if Tim had been alert enough to remember all of his doctor's explaining his injuries to him.

Ducky grinned widely when he saw that Tim was asleep again and holding Kelly close to him, protectively, trying to keep her safe. Kelly feeling drowsy, too, had her eyes closed and was resting. She simply enjoyed being back in Tim's arms. Ducky simply picked up a discarded blanket from the end of the bed, ascertained she wasn't causing undue stress on his injuries, before covering her up and backing out of the room. As he left, he lowered the lights and closed over the door.

It was at that point, Ducky urged everyone to go home for the night, that Tim needed his rest. Gibbs and Tobias exchanged grins at the thought that Fornell's son and Gibbs' daughter were resting.

"Everything OK in there?" Sarah asked, coming by Fornell and Gibbs, seeing them grin at one another.

"The children are resting, I suggest we all go home and do the same." Ducky advised them, winking at his good friend, Jethro.

"When you say resting...?" Sarah asked, a smirk of her own threatening to grace her face.

"Young Kelly is finally relaxed and has made herself at home in your young Timothy's arms. She is very aware and cautious of where each of his injuries are and has relaxed in a way as not to cause undue stress to them." Ducky explained succinctly to the Madam Secretary. "I am confident that nothing short of a blast shall wake them."

"Then I shall slip in and say good night." Before Ducky, Tobias or Jethro could stop her, she slipped inside the room. All three men had to admit, albeit to themselves, they didn't try very hard to stop her.

Inside the room, Sarah stopped at the foot of Tim's bed and looked down at the couple. Tim was holding Kelly in a protective manner, but Kelly was cautious of him, even in her deep slumber. She stopped over and kissed Tim's cheek, "Good night my beautiful boy, I can never begin to tell you how relieved I am that you've woken up. Get some peaceful sleep now you've got your beautiful girl in your arms."

She walked around to the other side of bed and lightly kissed Kelly's forehead. "Sleep sweetly our dear Kelly, keep the bad dreams away for my boy." as she straightened up, she looked carefully at the slumbering couple and wistfully smiled to herself.

She was still smiling when she exited the room quietly and peacefully. She grinned at the two grey haired men. Coming over to them, she kissed Tobias chastely on the lips and leaned up and kissed Jethro's cheek before, grinning even wider. "I don't think it's going to be too much longer until we're all going to be, one big happy family."

Gibbs returned her grin. He had been thinking it for a while and both Ducky and Vance had told him to rein in his excitement and let it unfold naturally. It made his feelings feel justified at Sarah Porter's enthusiasm.

Kelly startled herself awake, sometime in the middle of the night. The nurse had come in and she had just smiled sweetly at the young woman, as she quickly took Tim's blood pressure and temperature. "He's doing remarkably well." She reassured Kelly, with a pat to the leg on her way up. While she was awake, she decided to slip in to use the bathroom, for a moment. Tim was still out to it and hadn't even stirred when Kelly had delicately made her escape.

While she was in the bathroom, she heard Tim call out her name. It was an awful, blood-curdling scream. The tone spoke of absolute horror and one she hoped she would never hear again. She came out of he bathroom frantically, as three nurses and a registrar came rushing in to the room. Tim had bolted upright, his breath was coming in harsh pants, he was drenched in sweat and his heart was racing. "Kell!" He exclaimed harshly, seeing her return from the bathroom.

The nurses noticed something was wrong before Kelly. Besides the screaming, there was a lot of blood, all over his tee, his arm, neck and his sheets. In his horrified state, Tim had snatched the IV line out of his right forearm and blood had been gushing out. Kelly staying in Tim's line of sight to the left of the room, where the bathroom was located. As they worked on his right arm. One applying pressure to stem the blood flow, one had gone to retrieve the supplies to clean up and another the bandages and sutures needed to close the said wound. The doctor was over by the basin, scrubbing up her hands and applying the sterile gloves that the thier nurse had bought back, as she set up the suture tray. Somehow, when Tim had pulled at the IV line in his nightmarish state, he had ripped the surrounding skin open too.

The doctor managed to garner Tim's attention and explain that she was going to have to put a couple of sutures in his arm to stop the bleeding. That he was very lucky that he didn't open up an artery or a vein. Kelly flinched as they administered a local anaesthetic through a needle, straight into his forearm. Tim held his hand out for Kelly, wanting her to be within his grasp, so she took a seat in the chair by the bed. It didn't take long for the local anaesthetic to work and three sutures later, the wound was closed. The nurse then covered it with a waterproof dressing and adhesive, a combine pad and a conform bandage wound round his arm for good measure. The pad and bandage was a precaution, in case of another nightmare episode. "We'll put a hold on reinserting another intravenous access site until morning and we will consult with your medical team then." the registrar said, as she helped the nurse clean up from the small procedure.

Nurse number two, Madge, whom he remembered was one of the nurses in charge on the night shift, returned with some fresh sheets, blankets, a couple of wash cloths, a wash basin and towels. "Let's get you cleaned up, Sugar." She said, as she ran the water for the wash basin.

"Can Kell do it, instead?" Tim asked, his voice was shaky. Madge and Kelly could both tell that whatever Tim had dreamt about had shaken him to his very core. It had scared him and it had been about Kelly, more than him. His request went beyond his usual modesty, this was the request of a man truly terrified.

"It's OK, Sugar." Madge told him with a playful wink, trying to lighten the situation. "Most men prefer a sponge bath from their wives over me too. I'm not offended, sugar."

Finally feeling useful, Kelly took the offered bowl from Madge and took it into the bathroom. She put the heating lights on and put a towel over the shower chair and dragged the footstool in there. She rummaged through his bag, the one her dad had packed for him for some clothes. Grabbing a clean pair of shorts, a long sleeved tee and his toiletry bag, knowing he'd prefer his own soaps. She quickly then returned and helped Tim into the bathroom.

She could feel his gown was soaking and sticky with sweat. Madge had offered one of their gowns, but both of them had declined. Kelly knew Tim would be more comfortable in his own clothes.

As soon as the door closed and Kelly made a big show of locking it, she helped Tim out of the sticky clothes and his jockey shorts, she got to work. Kelly recognised the look on Tim's face as his processing face and knew not to interrupt his train of thought. Other than the basic commands, lift, stand, sit, Tim wouldn't comprehend anything else yet.

When Kelly had finished with his top half of his body, she had been relieved that Tim had been processing and didn't see her reaction to his colourfully contused chest. Not that it was anything new, she had seen it after the drone attack. But now with the feelings of her love for Tim surging through her, it made her feel sick. Not the sight of it, the feelings of anger and retribution it awoke in her.

Kelly smirked to herself, as she washed Tim's groin, testicles and penis, that he thickened under her touch. She hadn't even been trying and had been keeping a clinical touch to that point. That broke Tim from his processing train of thought and he grinned at her as she continued washing down his legs and onto his feet. She dried the last of his body and noticed that Tim was still thickening, despite the fact she wasn't even touching him like that or anywhere near his manhood, for that matter.

Kelly leaned up and kissed Tim on his cheek by his ear, a wet hot open kiss. "Be very quiet." She whispered, letting her hot breath caress his ear. Her whisper sent shivers down his back and he grinned at her. It had been almost four weeks since they had made love last and both had been craving each other's touch. Two and half of those weeks, they hadn't even been in the same state, let alone able to communicate with one another. Kelly had been away from Tim only forty-eight hours when Ziva kidnapped him. He'd been in and out of consciousness, with a concussion from the blows to his head for another ten days, without being really with it, before becoming alert two days ago.

Kelly grinned unrepentant at him and lowered her mouth to his balls, placing feather-like kisses on them, as she licked and nibbled her way up his shaft, before taking him whole. She backed off and stroked the underside of his hard cock with her tongue and teeth, again, eliciting a soft moan of pleasure from him. Tim ran his fingers through her messy locks, loving the feel of her lips on his body. Tim's breath was becoming ragged and she kissed, sucked and laved on his testes with a bit more pressure, as she massages the insides of his thigh with her other hand and swallowed his cock, almost whole. While his shaft was buried, almost to the hilt inside her mouth, she nuzzled him with her nose and hummed quietly. The reverberation from her tonsils and glands against the head of his penis was his undoing and let out a small "Gah" as he climaxed into her mouth.

She swallowed his seed whole as she began sucking and laving at his manhood, in an effort to tidy up. Once she was satisfied he was clean, she ran the wash cloth back over his genitals and quickly and efficiently dried him with a towel. Tim's energy levels were beginning to flag and Kelly emptied the bowl, rinsed it and turned it upside down to dry. She packed his toiletries up and stowed the bag on the counter. She gathered all of the dirty linen and placed it in the skip.

Before opening up the bathroom door, the lovers shared a secret smile and a small kiss. Kelly then set about helping Tim back into the room. The slightly wider than a regular hospital bed from before was gone and a queen bed was in its place, giving them even more room. She helped settle the freshly washed Tim on the side of the bed, as Madge come back in with the obs machine. "Kelly my dear, find a fresh tee in Tim's bag to change into and you can crawl into bed beside Tim. In some cases, patients sleep better when their spouse is beside them. Especially after some deep, dark, psychological trauma like that."

"We're not married." Kelly corrected her gently, albeit reluctantly. She loved the feelings of butterflies in her stomach that had given her and she could no longer deny that it was possibly what she wanted out of her life.

"Doesn't matter to me." Tim muttered, a sleepy smile on his face as Madge attached the cuff to his arm.

"That's right, Sugar. Love is love and a piece of paper doesn't mean much these days. Besides you heard him, it doesn't matter to him." she agreed with Tim, as Kelly slipped in the bathroom to change. She had snagged a pair of his boxer shorts too, for her own modesty.

Waking up to the feeling of being stared at was an unnerving and creepy feeling and as she opened her eyes she came face o face with her boyfriend's biological parents, his boss and her father. "Good morning, Kelly." Gibbs smirked at his daughter. "Planning on facing the day anytime soon?" he teased her.

Kelly could see the time on Leon's expensive Rolex clearly, it was almost 0600 hours. Way to early to be awake and visiting people in hospital. "Shh, don't wake Tim." She chastised her father in a whisper, putting her finger to her lips. Sarah, Leon and Tobias had stepped back, towards the door to give the young woman some privacy. When the four of them had tiptoed into Tim's room, they hadn't been expecting the bed to have been swapped out for a bigger one and Kelly to be in bed beside him. Sure, Sarah had seen her there when she had slipped in to say good night, but she had honestly expected the young woman to go home or back to Tim's apartment, as soon as she had woken from her snooze.

"What the hell happened?" Gibbs demanded, as soon as Kelly had some sweatpants on and Gibbs had hauled her out into the hallway, with the trio consisting of Leon, Tobias and Sarah in tow.

"Tim had a really bad night. There was a nightmare and whilst trapped in his nightmare, Tim ripped his IV line out of his arm. He made an awful mess. The doctor had to suture his arm back up." She explained, through yawns and rubbing her sleepy eyes. "The nurse in charge on the nightshift thought Tim would keep calm if I was within reach. Just who the hell do you think you are? Barging into Tim's room and practically hauling me from his bed."

"Sorry Kell, I saw the way you were cozied up to Tim and I was worried you were putting more stress on his injuries." Gibbs admitted, feeling remorseful for hi over-reaction about Tim's injuries. but he really wanted Tim to get better with minimal setbacks. With Tony still MIA and Tim in the hospital. Gibbs was floundering, relying on Ellie. As much as she was a competent agent, she wasn't one of his boys.

"What in the hell are you all doing here so early in the morning?" She snapped, her patience was running really thin already.

Once they had resettled in the queen bed, Tim had closed his eyes and tied to sleep. But before long, the next nightmare had started. Kelly had been able to calm his down and casually talk him through it with a relative ease. When it had seemed that Kelly had finally managed to get Tim to fall asleep, Kelly allowed herself to nod off, only to awaken to Tim screaming. Only this time, he didn't wake up and didn't recognise his surroundings. When the third nightmare struck, they had offered Tim a sleeping pill, while Kelly had all but growled at him to take, wishing she could take one to get some sleep, herself. Tim finally calmed down for the rest of the night and into a peaceful slumber, when she could feel multiple sets of eyes on her, watching her sleep.

"We're all due elsewhere and wanted to check on him before we left." Leon gently explained to Kelly. He had been a millisecond away from ushering them all out of the room and allowing the couple to sleep, in peace and quiet." Sarah and I will be in closed door briefings for most of the day, Tobias has an office he has barely been in for the last month and Gibbs is running the show in my absence."

"I suppose you will all want updates, as the day goes." She surmised and she could already see the four grins that were full of hope. "If you all back off a bit and let me take care of him, I'll send you all regular updates."

As soon as the four 'adults' scattered. Kelly let out the breath she was holding. Finally she had been able to breathe easier, knowing that they wouldn't be there, breathing down her neck. She wanted to talk to Tim in private today. To see if Tim would open up to her. Tim was really good with protecting her, but sometimes he goes so far, he forgets to let her in.

Tim was relieved, not to wake up to a crowd of people and happy to feel Kelly beside him. He had woken briefly, hearing hushed whispers and knowing that Gibbs, Leon,. Tobias and Sarah had been there, but his body had pulled him back under. Waking up with Kelly by his side, his mind mistaken itself for being at home, in his apartment, the one Kelly said she would move into with him, in the bedroom they shared. He snaked his hand around her lithe body and grasped onto her breast. "I wouldn't do that, if I were you." Kelly's sweet melodic voice reminded him. "You're still in the hospital." She chuckled when she felt Tim drop her home and she he felt the movement behind her as he gingerly rolled over onto his back.

"Can I go home?" He whined playfully at her. "Seriously, I am done. I can recover just as well at home as what I can in here."

"I agree." Ducky announced as he let himself into the room, with his team of medical personnel trailing along behind him. "I heard about your stressful night, Timothy. I am going to recommend you speak with a therapist. Either we can find you one through the hospital or we can see if Rachel is available."

"Rachel, please." Tim asked Ducky. Tim had spoken with Rachel a few times before and they were comfortable with each other. "When can I leave?"

Tim was eager, he would have sprang out of the bed, if his body would have let him do it. "Will someone be there to keep an eye on you?" Ducky asked, looking directly at Kelly Gibbs.

"Of course." Kelly reassured them, smiling at Tim. Not quite ready to share the news with anyone yet, that Tim had asked Kelly to move in with him.

"How about after lunch? We will do another set of scans and you can go home?" Ducky offered, knowing Tim would be eager to be finally going home. On the MCRT team, Ducky always used their willingness to want to go home as a gauge to see how they were truly feeling.

Seeing the other doctors nodding along with Ducky's announcement made Tim feel a whole heap better about wanting to go home. "Absolutely." Tim grinned and squeezed Kelly's hand to convey to her his excitement of the possibility.

"I am going to prescribe a sleep aid for you, in addition to your pain relief and the preventative oral antibiotics you are already on." Dr John Hamilton added in. John thought to himself that the young man looked tired and not very well rested. The overnight registrar had commented to him at handover this morning that when Agent McGee's mind finally did settle, he slept more sound with his partner by his side than what he had before she had arrived. That alone, gave John the confidence that sending Timothy home would be more beneficial than keeping him as inpatient.

"Good idea, John and you will be taking it. At least until after you've spoken with Doctor Cranston." Ducky lectured and every NCIS staff member knew that tone he used, it was not one to be disobeyed.

Lunch was eaten, scans were taken and Tim was packed up, eagerly awaiting his discharge instructions. John Hamilton popped his head in to the room, as Kelly and Ducky were in the hall, discussing Tim's medication and the schedule in which each different type of medication was due. "Ah, Agent McGee, I have finally managed to catch you alone. Mind if we have a small chat?" John asked him. John Hamilton reminded Tim of Ducky, only taller and slightly rounder. They had similar personalities and whist Ducky was Scottish, John was British. Tim found John's presence just as soothing as he found Ducky's. Ducky had told him that John was one of the world's most respected and revered neurologists, that he could be trusted, so Tim had been taking John's word as gospel, when it came to head injuries. "You may not remember, but I actually treated you in the early days after the drone attack on the Conrad gala. When I saw your face you looked vaguely familiar, but I didn't place it until last night. Please forgive me, it was a crazy few days and I treated a lot of patients from the attack."

"No forgiveness necessary, I was wallowing in my own grief, too. Although in hindsight, it seems I may have been misguided." Tim reassured the doctor. After all, Tim was out of it for a long while and still has gaps in his memory from that time. He doesn't remember much between arriving at the gala and Kelly sharing her favourite tea with him, as she comforted him.

"Grief is never misguided, please remember that, Tim." John said delicately. He had gotten to know the people who cared for this young man so well, he felt like he knew him that well, as well. This man, Ducky told him is like a nephew or treasured grandson to his dear friend. "While Ducky is occupied with your partner and the pharmacist, I wanted to talk to you about your limitations. You are not the first agent I have had to treat for a head injury and as such, I know that you are a stubborn and determined breed. Please do not rush things. It is perfectly normal to experience some light-headedness, a headache, short and quick tempers and even possibly visual disturbances. Although, I do recommend that you notify Ducky if you do begin to experience the latter, as it is something you haven't experienced so far."

"I promise." Tim conceded, glad to have this information. He would have mentioned it to Ducky anyway because Ducky has always had the uncanny ability to know when Tim is withholding any vital information from him.

"Now, while Ducky is out of the room, I wanted to discuss bedroom activities." John said, clinically. He had decided to take the bull by the horns, rather than grapple with such a delicate issue. As such, he decided to treat Tim like he would any other patient he happened to treat with the same injuries. "Whilst your ribs and your pain levels may have an impact there, please take caution. Let your young lady take control for a while. If you begin to feel light-headed or have chest pain, stop immediately. Please be wary of your bruising and your fractured ribs. Although your shoulder and elbow are back in their socket, please don't over-exert yourself. Any questions?"

"Do you think I'll be back at work soon?" Tim asked. He knew Gibbs wouldn't fire him, but he also felt bad for Gibbs. He knew Tony was still MIA, no one had heard from him since that first check in. He had told Vance he was going dark and he would re-surface when Tim gave him the ok, and only Tim. Tim had managed to convince Gibbs to bring in his laptop so he could send word to Tony. But Tony had asked for more time, to stay dark and that Tony would contact him soon. Tim hadn't heard from Tony since and was beginning to worry.

"I think if you pass a psych exam and the concussion becomes manageable without pain medication, you could be back on desk duty sooner than you think. You will need a full fitness for duty exam from myself, Ducky and a fitness for duty psych assessment, from Doctor Cranston." John told him, as Ducky and Kelly returned into the room. "But you are not to rush back to return to duty, do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal." Tim grinned. He knew the drill, it was almost a year ago since he had been through it last. Next month, it would be one year since the drone attack on the gala.

Ducky followed Kelly and Tim back to their apartment and helped Tim settle in, at home. As soon as Tim was settled in, back at their apartment, Kelly called her father and then sent text messages to Tobias, Sarah, Leon and finally one to Penny. Penny knew only what Kelly had told her, she had returned to South Africa on her lecturing tour. Kelly had told Penny that Tim had been injured, although not too badly, just a concussion and had been in hospital. Penny had replied that she sent her love and would try and speak to him soon. That she still loved him and still considered him, her grandson.

Gibbs and Tobias had stopped by with food, for an early dinner around 1730, with Tobias telling them Sarah was still at the office. Before Gibbs added that Sarah and Vance were actually in a meeting at Sarah's office, in the Pentagon. Tobias couldn't begin to describe the overwhelming feeling that walking into Tim's apartment gave him, when he saw his son sitting upright in a recliner in his living room, dressed in sweats. He actually thought he could have cried tears of happiness. As Gibbs and Tobias headed into the kitchen, his friend Jethro asked if he was ok. "Of course, I am." Tobias retorted. "Tim's home." He gave his friend a wan smile and Jethro patted him on the shoulder in support. Jethro too, was glad that Tim was home.

Even though Tim had been given clearance for bedroom activities, Kelly had been wary and Tim had had no energy and all they enjoyed was being extra close to another on that first night home. Without Ducky underfoot, on the second night home. The two lovers had taken a long, relaxing bubble bath in the main bathroom, dried off and snuggled into bed together naked, just being near one another. Tim had woke up, wanting nothing more than to make love to Kelly and mentally began making plans of how they would navigate his injuries to be together.
