Chapter 6

Violet didn't understand the reason George was so rude to his son about the portrait who looked suspiciously like him, or why the portrait moved, Freddy turns away running after the girl he was flirting with before, just as Harry rushes in.

"I'm here! I'm here, what did you find out?" Ginny opens her mouth to say something before looking down at the impressionable face of Violet.

"Harry Perhaps we should discuss this later, Violet needs her school supplies yes?" she asks and Harry looks down at Violet and furrows his brows together.

"Perhaps you're right, now Crocus." He leans down to the girls level. Violet huffs softly pouting at him,

"My name is Violet" she says bitterly while Petunia snickers behind her.

"Violet's your middle name, your name is Crocus." she chuckles while violet turns around to glare at her,

"Shut up Noony!" Violet yells, Petunia sticks her tongue out before Jenna takes her arm looking at george,

"Do you have a stool?" she asks and George moves a stool from behind the counter, Jenna takes it as well as Petunia sitting her in the corner before returning to her husband's side. Harry looks back at Violet after being distracted by the sister's squabble.

"Now Violet" he corrects himself, and the small girl nods in approval signaling for him to continue.

"Did you bring the part of your letter that has your list?" He asks and Violet nods. Jenna goes through her purse taking out the letter and handing it to Harry. He looks through the list carefully,

"Well this all seems dreadfully boring, how about Ginny goes and picks up your things with your parents and I'll take you to get your wand?" He offers, Petunia crosses her arms sitting facing the wall on the stool.

"I don't want to go school shopping for Crocus" she huffs and Dudley waddles over to her.

"Petunia, you have been a pain in the neck all day. What has gotten into you?" He asks bending down next to her.

"All week it's been Crocus this and Crocus that she's not special! You're spending all your time with her!" She cries and Dudley sighs

"Darling, Crocus is special… you both are. Your little sister has been accepted to a special school which means we are spending a little more time with her now… but when she's at school we'll be able to spend all our time with you." Dudley tries to make her feel better but Petunia only looks angrier,

"Well maybe I don't WANT Crocus to go to a new special school! Maybe I want her to stay in MY school with ME!" she yells before getting off the stool running out of the store and disappearing into the swarm of wizards outside of the store.

"Petunia? Petunia!" Jenna yells, she runs to the front of the store with a panicked look on her face.

"Dudley what do we do?" She looks through the crowd, unable to see Petunia, Dudley walks over trying to look into the crowd as well.

Ginny grabs Lilly's hand bringing her over to the two concerned parents.

"We'll look around for her, Harry will take Violet shopping and we'll all meet back here." Ginny offers and Harry nods, clapping Violet on the shoulder. Ron runs over,

"Me and Freddy will help too, Freddy!" he yells as a loud groan echoes from the other side of the store,

"Uncle Ron! I am trying to chat up a girl!" He whispers as he walks over, he smiles at the girl he was talking to. A tall girl with puggish cheeks and long stringy brown hair pulled into a ponytail.

"The Zambini girl? Really? Freddy-" Ron is cut off by Ginny as she rolls her eyes.

"We don't have time for this! Ron, take Freddy and go find Teddy, James, and Albus, then look at the outer stores as well as the leaky Cauldron. I'll take Lilly with the Durleys and start looking in the middle sections and Gringotts." she says before Jenna leans down cupping Volet's face.

"Crocus honey, go with Harry and we'll be back soon alright?" She tries to hide how worried she is as Ginny keeps giving orders.

"We'll all meet back here ok?" Ginny says before she gives Harry a kiss on the cheek leading the search party out of the store.

Harry takes Violet into a robe shop trying to change the subject and help her relax,

"So your parents deposited enough money to gain some interest in the bank and buy all of your things…" he feels a little awkward, he hadn't spoken to this girl since she was a baby and frankly knew nothing about her. She still held her nervous gaze as they entered the store,

"After we get our shopping done… I'll buy you a treat from Ron and George's store. How does that sound?" Violet looks up at him and smiles sheepishly

"Anything?" she asks quietly trying to contain her excitement, Harry chuckles remembering his first trip to get school supplies from the wizarding world.

"Sure, think of it as an apology for me getting your name wrong." He chuckles before he sees a familiar large man talking to a young boy about 13 years old, He's getting a robe fitting black hair slicked black, brown eyes stuck on the large half giant nodding along with the conversation.

"Hagrid?" Harry asks, causing the large man to turn around, a small blonde girl is clinging to his large coat, large blue eyes stare at Harry and Violet but before Harry can even process the children he is swept into a tight hug by the burly Hagrid.

"T's good to see you 'arry!" he spins Harry around and Violet can't help but giggle at the excitement Hagrid seemed to exhibit at just the sight of Harry. Hagrid sets Harry down and smiles as he grabs the smaller man's shoulders.

"Let me get a look at 'chu" he says gleefully, Hagrid's hair was the same frizzy thick mop of black hair Harry remembers but now with graying highlights. The same sparkling black eyes now framed by wrinkles and smile lines of an aging man,

"This mus' be yer kid! What's yer name sweetheart?" he smiles down at Violet who is completely awestruck by the size of Hagrid, too flabbergasted to speak even.

"Actually Hagrid, This is Violet. She's my cousin's youngest daughter and a muggle born." Harry smiles down at the girl who seems still shocked.

"Violet Hagrid is one of my best friends and my favorite half giant teacher." Hagrid laughs, a booming sound that shakes the walls of the store causing the workers to glare in their direction.

"Come meet my family!" Hagrid says almost dragging harry to the children from before, Harry's face is overcome with confusion by the monstrous man's words.

"Family?" he asks standing in front of the two kids, Hagrid smiles clapping a hand on the young boy's shoulder after his robe fitting was over.

"Yep! I always loved teachin' kids didn' have a par'ner so Mcgonagall asked why I didn' jus' adopt. Thir'een years la'er here we are." He pushes the young boy towards Harry

"Tha's Aragog, he'll be a third year." Hagrid smiles proudly and Harry looks down at the boy who won't meet his eyes.

"Like the… Giant spider?" He asks, Aragog shrugs his eyebrows knitting together.

"I prefer my middle name, but no one respects it." He mumbles and walks away. Violet has never related to anyone so strongly before. Hagrid Chuckles and picks up the little girl attached to his coat.

"He's been a bit moody since mid summer, teenagers ya know? He wants this broom fur quidditch…" He tries to explain but is cut off by a large groan from the teen in question

"I shouldn't 'ave said that. This little pewee is Pixie, She jus' turned five years old." Hagrid laughs and the small girl clings to him blushing deeply and burying her face in his shirt.

"Her favorite story is how the great Harry Potter defeated 'you know who'" Harry is blindsided by this information and unable to let himself be embarrassed when he realizes.

"That's Hardly a story appropriate for children." He realizes and Hagrid's eyes widen.

"Never thought 'bout that" Hagrid says simply looking down at the girl then back at Harry.

"Welp say hello ter the missus fur me." He says quickly before shuffling out of the store with his kids, Harry looked confused still before he shook his head back to reality.

"Come on Violet, let's get your robes…" He says softly and Violet nods following after him
