"And now it's time for the first ever bomber competition!." Fred shouts to a quite small crowd outside the hangers of the Potter's private airport.

"Yes, today we will find out who will have the honor of leading the formation in the upcoming first annual spider extermination flight!" George adds.

"Well Fred, we have two entrants today, what do you think?" Fred asks.

"It's a tough one George, Harry's loves his iconic designs, but Hermione's single minded preference for British aircraft shouldn't be underestimated." George says.

"Well, it's time to take a look!" Fred shouts before waving his wand at a sheet covered airplane next to the hanger. A large and sleek four engined bomber is revealed.

"As you can see, I went for the best design, the Avro Lancaster. It's British and it won the war." Hermione says pompously.

"And now let's reveal plane number 2!" Fred shouts as George waves his wand at the hanger doors, opening them to reveal a more utilitarian four engined aircraft.

"It's the iconic B-17 bomber." Harry begins enthusiastically. "This bomber actually won the war by hitting strategic targets during the day instead of whatever they could find at night."

"Unfortunately, it carries so few bombs it didn't have the capacity to do much else." Hermione argues.

As the two of them descend into another argument Luna approaches Fred and pokes his arm.

"I think it's time to show off my entry." Luna says serenely.

"You have a bomber?" Fred asks.

"Of course." Luna says before pointing her wand at some grass not far from them and disabling her concealment spells. A truly massive six engine plane is revealed.

"Aren't those engines backward?" George asks. "I'm no expert but I would think putting them the other way would be a better idea."

"If they were muggle engines, then they would need more cooling. But we have magic." Luna says.

"Wait, is that a Convair B-36?" Harry asks.

"My word it is." Hermione says in awe. "We need to figure out magical jets, that thing needs four."

"Ten engines?" George asks.

"Of course, mostly just for takeoff though, the B-36 is quite heavy." Hermione explains.

"I don't know about you Fred, but I think we have a winner." Fred says.

"You're right George." George says.

And so, on the day of the bombing a massive formation of Stuka's, Catalina's and even a few Swordfish flew behind a magnificent triangle of B-36, B-17 and Lancaster. The B-36 was almost comically large from an outsiders point of view, with a wingspan greater than the Lancaster and B-17 combined and it's massive propellers spinning lazily behind the wings.

Soon the flight was over the target area and the munitions began to drop, everything from lit firewhisky bottles to unstable ruins projects fell from the smaller aircraft as the larger dropped big bombs filled with erumpent horns and some with gasoline or black powder. The spiders never stood a chance, they died in mass leaving the forest a safer place.

As arranged the Centaurs worked with the mermaids to contain the fire and scout the remains after the planes left.

As Nigel Westwood spotted this strange formation of planes, he thought: 'These people are really having a good time with history. Where can I sign up?'

AN: a surprise bonus chapter, well at least to most of you. B-36 is the answer to any my propeller driven bomber is better than yours arguments, simply because of how ridiculous and how interesting it is.
