The phoenix plan is starting to give its progress, with each one of the girls doing one of the stages, the part of the sketches around the building as an example was walking a few steps, showing that soon the building could give progress to another stage, meanwhile Diana, Akko and Amanda on that Friday take the opportunity to use the day to go out in search of books, but for that they will need to travel to Arcturus, in this case they go by broom, leaving Edinburgh, then going to Glastonbury, where they are communicating with Laura about the whole way.
When they arrive at the outskirts of Luna Nova the trio of the sealed ones even takes a look at how is the old structure, seeing that there are several excavators and tractors that are filling the hole that was left with earth, besides passing some paths by the tracks, remaining a lot of the rest of the old wall still.
There they go walking through the woods around the place, following the way they had memorized, but this time flying with a broom which was a little faster, arriving to where the portal is, with that they tell McLaren that they will give the last talk and then go to the other side when they open it with magic.
Passing through the portal they arrive at the Arcturus
camp of the tree house, this time only the three of them there, observing the surroundings, then O'Neill jumps on one of the sofas to rest.
" Now let's relax a little, enjoy a snack before going out on this one " said the American.
" I agree, we have done a lot of broom flying, we need to replenish our energy " said Atsuko.
" Let's just not forget our responsibilities, we have to go to where the library is and my mum gave us a map to go to where it is " Cavendish said.
" Relax your coconut a bit Cavendish, we've already done too much, the flight here took a while, and we've just arrived.
" I didn't say to go on the spot, just so that you don't forget that we have very important responsibilities and that we must fulfil them too " said the Scot.
" I know, I know, we have a while to stay here, the books aren't going to fly out, besides we have a couple of days here, until we get back," said the green"eyed girl who was kind of carrying on hanging around.
From there they kind of took the time to rest, they even got some food at the magic canteen, spending some minutes lying down, eating, even taking a nap, and Diana and Akko practically slept together while Amanda stayed on the same couch, until they all woke up and then tried to do something different.
The only thing was that there was no electricity to play videogames or watch television, the more it was magic they could use for some entertainment purpose, this while the couple was kind of exchanging caresses.
" For someone who kept pushing me to get things done quickly, you seem to have forgotten that we have to get the books," O'Neill said.
" Ah... That's right, we have to get the books " Cavendish said.
" Look at these two, they finally remembered, let's get these things, being alone, with a candle, is a pain in the ass, you can't imagine how it is, then we'll go back home if we're going to stand still without doing anything, just watching the couple fooling around " said the American while the two were laughing.
" Come on Amanda got needy out of nowhere heh " Kagari said teasingly.
" Don't fill it up " Said the salmon"coloured hair with her arms crossed slightly sulkily.
From there the three go flying following the map, with all the care of the world also seen that they were in the presence of other creatures of Arcuturus that are somewhat dangerous, where they followed in a cave, walking there they noticed that it was a place until that enormous, where several bats came out for there as they illuminated, at the same time they heard some steps that were very heavy.
" Shit, now all that's left is for us to have to deal with creatures around here," Amanda said.
And they really had, they were huge stone golens that came to defend the place, the trio was kind of flying on the brooms to escape the blows of the creatures, which were too slow, but they were trying to hit them throwing limbs against them what almost caused a beautiful damage in the cave, while they kind of illuminated what came ahead in the dark cave, where they arrived at the end of that corridor, in the door there was a sphere, around it some letters written in a different language. Soon O'Neill was trying to pull the door with brute force or even using magic to pull back, only that nothing solved, inclusive she took a beautiful electric discharge when using spells in the door.
" Oh shit, that thing won't open with brute force. This thing won't open with brute force, we have to go through the riddle of this shit " said the American.
" Diana do you understand some of the letters that are written there? " Akko asks.
" I'm unravelling, I remember I learnt that in magic class it's the language Luna, I'm just trying to put the words together to see what it says... " Diana said.
" So go on then we'll have to end up fighting the damn golens if we stand here waiting " Said the salmon"coloured hair turning her wand into a baseball bat, sort of getting ready to strike a blow.
" Don't compare yourself with others, do what only you can do " Cavendish said and nothing happened, only the staff that started to glow.
" It's the next word, Diana how does that look in Luna language " Kagari said handing the staff into her girlfriend's hands.
" "Don't compare yourself to others, do what only you can do" " The Scottish woman tries to use the words in the Luna language, but the staff only remains in the same state, showing a strong glow indicating that the third word is to be found.
At the same time the golen's steps become more intense and with that the girls change their plan, the creatures appear, they go kind of attacking the trio, that dodges the members they projected against them.
Amanda goes on giving some nice shots with the magic bat hitting with power and even returning the shots back to the huge rocky monsters.
Akko goes for a different attack, using her wand as a kind of sword, where she goes practically trying to give cuts through the creature's structure, but those rocks were more powerful.
Diana was the one who stayed more still in the same place, she sort of held a magic book, leafing through it and starting to recite a spell, using the help of her friends to improve the power of the spell.
" Damn! The sword is kind of weak against those stones, I think I'll use the bat anyway " Said Kagari turning her wand into a baseball bat.
The two together were kind of stopping the wave of four Golens that were coming to attack, the clubs were able to return the attacks with a good charge of strength, but at the same time there was the issue of magic being spent, the more powerful were the hits, more magic was being used, which soon things get better.
Cavendish makes a huge glyph that releases a bolt of lightning towards the goblins, hitting with enough power to turn those four creatures into a pile of rocks, which of course was also accompanied by a tremor.
" Woah! fucking Diana, what a fucking spell " said Atsuko in amazement.
" Why don't they teach us those? " O'Neill asks.
" You wish you were cooler, you hardly pay any attention to the elemental and summoning spells, you think it's boring because we're standing here," said the Scottish lass.
Not everything was flowers since the tremor increased and a huge stone fell in front of the door, barely catching the trio that gave a beautiful dodge, this stone is forming, revealing to be a golem minotaur, much larger than the others that were only 3 meters tall, this was a huge creature almost the size of the door.
" What now? " The girls said.
" You focus your attack by distracting the golem and I'll take care of using a spell to discover its weak points " said the one with platinum hair.
The two girls sort of nodded their heads in agreement, using their magic to give impulse going towards the huge golem, while Diana leafed through the book for the Golem's weak points spell, starting there to sort of dictate the words to use the spell while the girls distracted the creature.
The huge 15 meters high golem was trying to punch and crush the girls at all costs, who dodged by giving magic impulses, and also sometimes riding on the horns of the monster that was getting all crazy and aimlessly trying to hit the walls.
" Yeahhaww! " Said Amanda as she stood mounted over the creature's head holding onto the horns, to the point that the Golem slammed into a wall getting half stuck.
" Amanda! I'm close by, that thing could collapse the Cave, let's take it easy " Akko said.
The two continued to distract the creature, a little longer, until Cavendish opened her eyes, releasing the spell that sort of uncovered the minotaur's weak points, where it marked the 11 points where the creature had the most weaknesses and where they needed to be hit.
" Noctu Orfei Aude Fraetor! " Said the Scottish woman with Claiomh Solais in hand where she then fired a magic arrow that caught directly in the golem's head where it was one of the weak points.
On the spot the minotaur sees who it was, the platinum haired one throws the staff that is caught by Amanda, while she distracts the creature, O'Neill soon makes sure to say the words by giving an arrow that catches right in the monster's loin that ends up giving a nice slip where the blue"eyed one passes underneath quickly, which the American passes the staff to Atsuko.
" It's my turn now! " Said Kagari excitedly, already picking up her staff.
The Japanese shoots another arrow just as the minotaur turns around catching it right in the leg where the creature stood still for a while longer being enough for Diana to grab the staff that was passed to her and the monster to start a run towards the brown haired one, but it was caught right in the back of the head in its fourth weak point, knocking it down well before it reached the wall, with the American grabbing the staff.
" Only seven more hits to go and we've defeated this creature," the Scottish lass said excitedly.
Amanda took the staff just as the minotaur was trying to get up, hitting it in the left shoulder, which was caught by Akko, who was flying on the broomstick, hitting another arrow in the right shoulder.
Diana was the one who took the staff and waited for the creature to get up, but the minotaur was walking on all fours, kind of trying to hit it like a bull, where the Scottish lass caught momentum with her friends, passing under the creature hitting the seventh arrow in the monster's chest that almost crushed her.
" Perfect! Four more arrows to go, just hit the other members " Cavendish said handing the staff to O'Neill.
The minotaur got up in bipedal mode, going after the American who hit the other leg of the golem that eventually stumbled and narrowly missed hitting the salmon"coloured hair with its horn as it slid all the way towards the wall, where it was Akko's chance, who went seeing the monster turning around with her arms.
The Japanese woman hit an arrow to the right arm, passing to the Scottish woman who hit one to the left arm, where they saw Amanda go by.
" Now it's up to you Amanda! " They both said.
The minotaur was getting up, the American charged an arrow much more powerful, while the creature was already showing difficulties to get up, what was hit in the neck region by the strong arrow, where a light was being expelled, coming out for each corner hit, then the creature was cracking until pieces were flying everywhere.
Luckily, Diana used a force field spell to protect all of them
from the debris flying towards them.
" Thank you for freeing me, for that help I say the magic words to open the door are Arae Aryrha " Said the spirit of what seemed to be a girl who then ended up flying away disappearing afterwards.
" Wonderful we managed to find the next word! " Akko said.
" Arae Aryrha! " Said Amanda causing the staff to become kind of a hook which she shot right into that orb, just as the other two girls held it together.
With an enormous power they pull back together with the magic the huge doors open, revealing a place that is being illuminated by magic right in front of them, they were piles and more piles of books that end up scaring them by the size of the place, it was certainly huge, much more than they expected.
" Man... We won't be able to copy all this from a book and bring it to Luna Nova, look how big this place is " said O'Neill while Akko was taking pictures of the place with his mobile phone.
" Now we are left wondering which books we have to take, there are so many and the place is huge " said Atsuko.
" Worse than that my mother Laura never told me which books we have to get, it can't be all of them, apart from the fact that we'll never get all of them " said the Scottish lass.
" That complicates everything " said the Japanese woman.
They sort of went walking down the huge corridors where there were some glyphs drawn on tables, they were similar and when they touched them with their hand they sort of ended up glowing, the first to do that was Diana who ended up bringing a book that came in her hands, which was in Cavendish's imagination, on the cover of the book it was written "basics of magic".
" Hey, just fill the book bags by pressing on the glyphs and everyone will come here," said Akko who managed to summon another book, then the Scottish woman read out some information on the side of the table.
" It says here that we can invoke any type of book that has ever been written in history, a copy will be created exactly like the original, so we don't have to worry about losing the books forever, this library is really impressive " said the platinum haired lassie impressed.
" So that's it, let's copy as many magic books as we can bring in," O'Neill said.
" We just have to remember all the topics, because that could be important... Wait a minute... I have an idea... I wonder if... " Said Diana who placed her hand on the glyph and managed to summon the 1987 Luna Nova yearbook, which came straight into her hands.
" I wonder if? " Both said asking their friend.
" Guys this place is our hope! We can invoke any book, any book at all, even specific ones, that means we can restore all the books of Luna Nova, we just need to imagine that, that will come out, look at this! It's the yearbook from when my mothers studied there " Cavendish said.
Then she put her hand on it, half imagining, all the books that were used in Luna Nova, the glyph gave a very intense glow, then it stopped glowing, at the same time as the Scottish woman's hand, and on the table beside her books began to come out in piles, practically without stopping.
" Wonderful, it was just imagining all the books that they will appear to us " said the Scot.
" Hey, I have an idea, we can get information from the cultists this way, we just need to find out who they are and pull up books and also maps of their location, so we have a huge knowledge in hand, we can literally have the perfect plan to defeat them," Akko said.
" Akko! This plan is amazing! We must get all these books and tell my mother Laura immediately, she will love to hear about it! " said the Scottish lass in amazement.
They were kind of waiting for some more time until Amanda made a point of summoning some Spiderman comics to pass the time, Akko was doing the same thing invoking Sailor Moon manga, while Diana was invoking something that she doesn't talk so much to the others since it was some book versions of the RWBY fanfics she used to read where it involved Yuri and smut, in the meantime they took a break when they saw the pile of books that remained that were from Luna Nova.
" How are we going to take all this? " O'Neill asks.
" A good question let me see here " Diana said summoning a book on the library and flicking through.
" Wow, that's a lot of books, I wonder if we'll be able to get all of them by Sunday, especially as the pile is only getting bigger," Akko said in shock.
" It says here that you just press the glyph on the reception desk and the books all go to the desired destination, so we can take everything to the Cavendish mansion and from there we take it to Luna Nova " Cavendish said.
" To think that we have to stay here for so long until all these books are summoned," said Amanda, already a little frustrated.
" It also says here that there is a canteen nearby that works just like the camp with that glyph that makes any meal " The Scot said.
Amanda and Akko rush to the canteen, without thinking twice, while the books didn't stop appearing, in a few hours they ended up with a huge pile, where they then pressed together the glyph that transported the whole pile of books straight to a part of the mansion that is open and full of space, while they took the time to give some good readings.
The books part had already been solved, even documents could be restored thanks to magic, leaving everything well on track, being practically all the books that were inside the old witchcraft academy, which includes even books from other girls, even diaries. With this part accomplished also comes another plan that can help with the other main goal of ending with the cultists.
