Himalayan Mountains.
"Hey, Peter. YOU DIDN'T THINK IT'D BE A GOOD IDEA TO TELL ME WE WERE GONNA CLIMB UP THE SIDE OF A FUCKING MOUNTAIN?!?!" Wrench yelled. As planned, the group of Peter, Wrench, Juri, Cammy, Chun-Li, and Guile were heading towards the Himalayan base. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't to their advantage, and their climbing plan was tedious to say the least, and Wrench wasn't helping it go any better.
"We discussed going to the Himalayas in Africa. Figured the amazing Wrench would've used context clues" Peter responded.
"Yeah, but I thought we would've came up with a better way before now, not literally RISK FALLING TO DEATH!"
"You're seriously afraid of heights? You said you crashed a plane before." Juri said, looking directly at Wrench while everyone kept on climbing.
"Y-yeah...from the safety of solid ground."
"And what about the helicarrier fiasco during your war on Talon?" Guile asked. Wrench simply shook his head as he made sure he held onto each rock for dear life.
"You think I wasn't fucking terrified once I realized the engines were shot? If it wasn't for Baptiste I would've died when it crashed in Broadway."
"How come I never met this Baptiste guy?" Peter asked while still climbing the cliff with ease.
"Because he went off the radar once we landed. To be honest, I don't blame him after everything that happened. I'd probably be in hiding too."
"Except you decided to stay by Peter's side. Didn't take you for the noble type Wrench." Chun-Li said, climbing past Wrench. He groaned and continued the ascent.
"It's nothing to do with nobility. Me and Pete have been through a lot since we've met. Sorta just along for the ride."
Peter smiled as he knew the real reason why Wrench stuck around with him. He knew Wrench wouldn't say it straight to anybody but him, but he knew Wrench considered him a close friend, almost like family.
After about 15 more minutes of climbing (and yelling thanks to Wrench), the crew had effectively snuck onto the S.I.N base. The 6 of them quickly ran towards some cover opposite of the entrance into the mountain as they studied it for any guards or Seth's personal guards.
"Mystique, you in position yet?" Peter asked. Mystiques response was aiming a red dot sight in front of Peter, indicating she had a good enough vantage point. Peter turned to his partners and discussed their plan of attack.
"Ok, obviously 6 of us going in guns blazing will get both Rogue, and ourselves killed. Something tells me that these aren't the type of guys that respect street fight rules."
"You do realize street fights have no rules, right Petey?" Juri corrected. Peter simply rolled his eyes as he continued on.
"Anyways, it's probably best if half of us go in and the other half try to secure our way out." He turned to Guile and Cammy. "You guys said on the way up that you both knew how to pilot planes, right?"
The both of them nodded. "Then you two are responsible for getting our ride out of here when we grab Rogue. Chun-Li, you go with them to help secure the ride. Me, Juri, and Wrench will go look for Rogue."
"And how the hell are we supposed to find a plane, sneak on, and steal it in time for you guys to get Rogue out?" Guile asked.
Peter simply shrugged his shoulders as he pulled his mask down. "That's for you three to figure out flat top. Hence why I put Mystique is on lookout with you guys while you secure the getaway." Peter began to sneak away into the building while Juri followed close behind him. Wrench getting ready to go was stopped by Chun-li.
"You guys usually wing these kind of operations, don't you?"
"Ohhh like you wouldn't believe." Wrench then ran off the catch up with his group as an onlooker from a nearby guard tower spotted him.
"Hmm, not how I imagined this reunion going."
Shadaloo Base.
"Well this place is pretentious." Peter commented. To say the base was huge would be an understatement.
"Think we can find the guy or group of people who make bases like this? We need to get our own." Wrench said.
"You're not happy with our warehouses?"
"No offense Pete but warehouses are obvious. We only used one for fighting Talon because it was convenient and we couldn't use Widow's house."
"Widow who?" Juri asked.
"Widowmaker. She helped us get rid of Talon and find the X-Men."
"And her and Peter totally boned." Wrench added. Both Juri and Wrench chuckled, although Juri's seemed more forced as her face didn't match her chuckle at all. Peter rolled his eyes as they ventured further in the lair.
"Correct if I'm wrong Wrench, but didn't a certain Aussie leave and has yet to even send a text back to you for a year?" Wrench got silent immediately as Peter celebrated his mini victory in his head. They continued into the base until they saw a security room. They ducked in the room and crouched down underneath the windows as a patrol passed by them. They decided to take a quick break to figure out their next move.
"Sorry to be the debby downer, but these facilities are huge. We'd be spending hours trying to find Rogue." Juri said.
"Any ideas where they could be holding prisoners?"
"Lower levels? Takes more time for escapees to get to the surface and more time for the guards to stop them."
"That would make sense." Peter thought about their options. As much as he didn't want to spilt up, that seemed like their only choice. "Ok, what if someone stayed here while they guided the other two to where Rogue is? There has to be a camera panel in here right?"
"Well seeing as I don't have super powers or any martial arts training, I'll man the security systems and try to guide you guys." Wrench pulled a seat to a nearby monitor and started to hack in the camera system. "I'll set up here, let me know when you guys reach an elevator."
Peter nodded as both him and Juri took off from the room. Peter mostly followed Juri as she had a better idea of where things could possibly be, while Wrench set up his own access on cameras. Eventually the two spiders got to the elevator and went inside, waiting Wrench's instructions.
"Alright Wrench, we're here. Where are we going?" Peter asked.
"Got you guys on camera, just give me a secccc, got it. Labs basement level 2. First door to the right from the elevator." Peter pressed the button and the elevator began to take him and Juri down below.
"So what exactly is the plan when we grab Rogue?" Juri asked.
"Well thats easy, we escape. Don't exactly plan for us to stay long, unless you wanna ask for your old job back?"
"You and I both know that's not what I meant. I mean what are we doing after? Shadaloo and S.I.N are going to be after all of us, and anyone linked to you."
"Luckily for me, everyone linked to me is either dead or knows how to defend themselves." Peter said. "The play for now is to get Rogue, try to reach out to the X-Men, and then go from there."
"You put a alot of faith in these X-Men. Yet it seems they're too busy with their superhero shit that they couldn't help us."
"You're just a riot at parties, aren't you Juri?"
Lower Levels
Once the elevator stopped, Peter and Juri found themselves in a hallway. The further they went down, the more rooms they saw, each of them with various machines and lab equipment. Either they were in some R level, or these rooms were being used to condition Bison's doll army. They continued down till they saw a room with no windows, just a pair of double doors. Peter trued to open it, but it was locked.
"There's no keyhole, so it has to be either keycard or computer locked. Wrench?"
"Thats my name. Whats the problem?"
"There's a door here thats locked. No keyhole. It either needs a keycard or its unlocked by a computer. Can you see if you can unlock it?"
Wrench cracked his knuckles as he began to jailbreak his surveillance computer even more. "No problemo, just give me one...uhh Pete? You guys got company headed your way."
"Perfect timing."
"How many Wrench?"
"Uhhh, a lot. You guys must've been caught on some other surveillance system, they're armored and armed."
"Ok, just focus on the door, me and Juri will take care of our entourage." Peter stood next to Juri as he adjusted his gloves and web shooters.
"Guess your incognito plan isn't going to work out." Juri stated as she got into her fighting stance.
"It rarely does." Peter crouched down to his fighting stance as they prepared for the soldiers to come around the corner. Within seconds, there was a group of 12 S.I.N soldiers with body armor and batons looking at the pair.
"Stop! You're coming with us and explaining yourselves to Bison."
"Seriously? Has that line ever worked on anyone?" Peter quipped. He made the first move as he rolled forward and used his strength to throw a kick by pushing himself off the floor into the first soldier he connected with. Juri ran in after him, quickly subduing another soldier by kicking him square in the chest, making him lose his breath instantly and fall to the ground.
Another soldier tried to grab Peter, but he quickly slide underneath him and then propped himself back up to deliver two kicks to his back, causing the soldier to fly forward into a clothesline kick from Juri. Juri then rushed into the group, doing a sort of cartwheel kick through them and knocking out multiple soldiers in the process. Peter shot a webline at another soldier and pulled himself to him, using the momentum to cling onto the soldier while spinning him around to hit the remaining soldiers still standing. Peter then wrapped his legs around the soldier's head and threw him onto the ground, then quickly positioning himself on top of him with his fist hovering overhead.
"Ok buddy, here's how this thing is gonna go. You're gonna tell us where Bison is, why he attacked the X-Men, and where Rogue is. I believe you, I knock you out. I feel like you're lying to me, you'll be her problem." Peter said, gesturing his head towards Juri. "Start talking."
"Look, I swear I don't know much about what Bison has planned. Rogue is in that room-" the soldier pointed to the doors Wrench was trying to open. "Please don't hurt me!"
"Not enough. Why did Bison try to attack the X-Men?"
"He's going after anyone who might try to stop him. X-Men, Avengers, Overwatch, Interpol, C.I.A, any and everyone." Peter held his head down as he heard the news. Now it made sense as to why he would take Rogue. If she got a handful of the powers from the Avengers or the X-Men, Bison would be unstoppable.
"And what about Gérard Lacroix? Seth said he was involved somehow."
"I don't know anything about a Gérard, I swear." The soldier was then greeted by a bullet entering his head, killing him instantly. Peter recoiled back, stunned while Juri got back into her fighting stance. Peter followed the direction of the bullet to a familiar face, one he didn't think he'd see again.
"Amélie?" Peter asked. She confirmed his question by deactivating her visor so he could see her complete face. In fact, everything about her was different. She kept the visor Wrench had made for her, but replaced the rifle. She had also upgraded her suit, now instead of a skintight jumpsuit was an actual armored outfit, complete with a more sleek venom mine dispenser on her arm. In addition to the new outfit, she had also braided her hair, but still kept it in a usual ponytail.
Widowmaker reached her hand out for Peter to grab. He took it as she pulled him up. They stared at each other for a few seconds in awkward silence before Juri interjected.
"Hello?? Mission to save your weirdo friend?" Peter rolled his eyes under his mask as Juri complained. He got back onto comms with Wrench to see the progress of the door.
"Wrench, give me good news please."
"I got the doors unlocked. Plus I think one of our old friends came back to help us."
"Yeah, I kinda found that one out already." Peter said. He heard Wrench sigh on the other end, which made him smirk. "Tell Cammy and Guile to start getting our escape ready, this shouldn't take long." He got off with Wrench and opened the doors leading into Rogue's prison room.
Peter did a quick scan of the room and saw some cells that had people in them. He looked back at Juri and Widowmaker. "You two watch the door, make sure no one comes in and calls for backup if they see us." He then headed off towards the cells, leaving the two women to watch the door.
"So...you're one of Peter's superhero friends too?" Juri asked.
"You could say that. Although hero is stretching it."
"Then what are you? His ex or something?"
Widowmaker both looked visibly annoyed, while simultaneously slightly blushing thinking back to her time with Peter during their fight with Talon.
"Just...a friend. Nothing more." Widowmaker said in response. Juri smirked as she could tell she was lying, but figured it'd be better to mess with her somewhere safer.
Meanwhile, Peter looked into the cells, looking for Rogue. Once he found her in one of them, he used some of his strength to force the door to open by breaking the lock. He went inside the cell and saw Rogue laying down on a bed. He turned her over to see her face and tried waking her up.
"Rogue? Are you awake? It's me, Peter." He shook her as he talked. After a few seconds, she woke up and saw Peter. She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him close to hug him.
"Thank gawd you're here!" Rogue exclaimed. Peter hugged her back, but decided to joke around a bit.
"Jeez Rogue, you sure you don't have Logan's strength still? Im fading in and out." Rogue broke the hug, then punched Peter in the shoulder. "Oww, ok I deserve that."
"Can we go already? Ah don't think we wanna be here when Bison comes back." Peter nodded as he walked back from the bed.
"Can you walk?" Rogue nodded her head as she got up, then saw the company that Peter had with him. "Uh Pete, who are those two?"
"Ahh well you remember Widowmaker right? Blue skin, help us save the world, sorta hasn't told me how she found out about this place yet. And the other one is Juri Han. Taekwondo fighter, possibly crazy. I'll fill you in on everything once we get out of the super evil guy's lair, ok?" Peter and Rogue started to walk back towards the way Peter can't when alarms started to blare throughout the facility. Immediately, Peter jumped on comms.
"Wrench?!"
"Dude, get out of there now! Bison is-" Wrench's comm went dark, causing Peter to panic.
"Wrench? Wrench!" Peter yelled. "God damn it!" He looked at the three women with him as he made their next play. "Ok, no waiting around, we have to leave now."
Just then, Peter's spider sense started to go off the walls. He stared at the door, which made his sense go even crazier. "Back away from the door." Juri ran past Peter while Widowmaker shot a grappling hook line towards the inside of the room. Peter somersaulted backwards from the door as they flew off the hinges. Peter landed and looked up to see who was on the other side. His spider sense immediately went ballistic when he saw who it was.
"Hello Spider." Bison said coldly.
