Many hours had passed as the group made their way to the Mediterranean, but at long last they had arrived. Far on the horizon lay a sight for sore eyes, Watchpoint: Gibraltar!
Standing on the strategic point of the Rock of Gibraltar, Watchpoint: Gibraltar is an Overwatch outpost that stands guard over the Mediterranean. When Overwatch was shut down, the watchpoint was shut down with it, but after Overwatch was reformed, the team used the watchpoint as their new base of operations.
"Arriving at Watchpoint: Gibraltar," said the shipboard AI.
Making landfall the team was created with a curious sight, a gorilla in white and silver armor made his way to them. This was Winston, the de facto leader of the group, a super-intelligent, genetically engineered gorilla from the moon, Winston is a brilliant scientist and a champion for humanity's potential.
Walking over to the ship, he greeted the team as they got back from the long trip home.
"Welcome back everyone!" he said before turning over to Prime, "You must be Mr. Paxxon, welcome to our base." He greeted with a friendly smile.
"The pleasure is all mine, Winston. I must say it is an honor to be here!" Prime responded.
"Would you care for a tour!" the ape proceeded to say as he shakes his hand.
"Unfortunately, I will have to postpone such a sight for later. I believe you have been informed of what happen back in Zürich." Prime answers with respect for the Overwatch agent.
"Indeed! I will gather the others. I must admit the hole thing concerns me!" Winston responded.
"As it does me! But fear not, for I believe I can clear some of this confusion and hopefully help prepare for what is to come." Answered a stoic Prime.
"But before that, I must ask you something Winston." He continued, addressing the ape.
"Of course, what do you need." Winston responded, intrigued by his voice.
"I am correct to assume that the base is equip with biometric scanners and energy sensors!" asks Prime, a plan forming in his mind.
"Affirmative, why?" he asks, intrigued by the question.
"I need you to scan me before the meeting, I believe that what you find will be beneficial for what is to come." He says, with great resolve in his tone.
"An odd request, but not a problem I suppose. Anything else?" Winston asks one more time.
"That will be all, do I do require Dr. Ziegler expertise." He lets his fellow leader know.
"I'll make sure to tell her that." says Winston, nodding at Prime.
"Thank you greatly!" Prime tells him, as he prepares for the most difficult announcement in his life.
Some time later, Prime and the others are gathered in the central room of the base, ready for what is to come.
Winston walks in with them, preparing to introduce them to the remaining members of the reformed Overwatch team.
"Team Prime, let me introduce you to Overwatch. These are Mei, Echo, Lucio, McCree, Pharah, Zarya, , Baptiste and Sojourn." Winston gestured to his team.
"Quite the cast of characters." Mumbled Bulkhead toward Bee, who giggled in response.
"A pleasure to meet you all, we are Team Prime of UnitE. You can call me Prime, these are my teammates, Bulkhead, Arcee and Bumblebee." He said as he gestures to every one of them.
"I thank you all for the opportunity to share and collaborate in future endeavors." He said.
"That collaboration is entirely dependent on the information that you possess on the Zürich incident." Responded Sojourn, a veteran member of the organization with an extensive amount of cybernetics. Know for fallowing protocol and being by the books in many circumstances, she reminded him of Ultra Magnus.
"Well said. As I already told the members that accompanied us here, I promise to provide you with the utmost transparency with what I know." Responded Prime.
"Your reports mention that you where originally confronting a band of insurgence in the area, correct!" asked Echo, a highly advanced white armored omnic that worked for the organization.
"That is correct, the Deception, a band of revolutionaries turn terrorist. They and their leader where promptly defeated with the assistance of your fellow overwatch agents." Responded Prime, with a serious expression on his face.
"And them that big omnic attack, the one that fall from the sky with the purple smoke, like a game boss!" said an exited , being a lover of all things gaming.
"Indeed, Thundering! An impressive adversary, one that I fear is only the beginning of something larger." Responded Prime, his face briefly showing his worry.
"He seemed to target you especially! Called you a disciple or something." Added Brigitte, still curious as to what Prime was keeping from his team.
"Yes, he mentioned something else to do. Something called Unicron. You seem to know what he was talking about." Added Genji this time, unsure of what to make of the situation.
"This is correct." Was all that Prime said.
"What is this Unicron. Some type of new omnic group? Are they related to Null Sector!" asked Tracer, worried at what was to come.
"He sounded like a zealot, is it some type of cult?" Genji asked again.
"In a way it is, but Unicron is not an organization. He is something much worse, a being as old as time, a bringer of chaos and destruction. A god, in a sense." Prime finally said.
"It is my belief that this Thunderwing was not an omnic at all, but a follower of Unicron, one that intended to eliminate the only thing that could pose a threat to his return."
"And that would be you?" asked a confused Mei.
"Prime, what's really going on here?" asked Arcee.
"My friends, what I'm about to say may be hard to hear, but it is nothing but the truth." Prime says as he steels himself.
"I am not from this world!"
"WHAT?" responds everyone in the room.
Letting the others have time to come down from that revelation, Prime steadied himself to continue.
"I know it is hard to believe, but be assure, I can explain." Prime reassures quickly.
"It better be one hell of an explanation!" cries out McCree.
"This was something even I had a hard time believing, but as time went one it became harder to disprove." Prime said.
"Some years ago, I experience a near death experience, where I encountered what I believe to be my creator, Primus! He explained to me the truth behind my origins, that while my body was born on this world, my soul was something else entirely."
"He told my that I was one of his children and that I was chosen to be the vanguard of Unicrons permanent defeat. A light to shine on our darkest hours!" he finished.
"How exactly can you prove that!" asked a confused Brigitte.
"As I awoke from this experience, he gave something to me, this!" he exclaimed as he gestured to a large screen in the room.
It showed an X-ray image, revealing a strange piece of technology on the chest. It appeared like an orb made of dozens of smaller pieces with what appeared to be a crystalline matrix. Coming out from it were two arcing handles, on it whole it appeared to have been perfectly fused with his skeleton.
"I took the liberty of asking Winston to take a deep scan of myself." He informed them.
"It's true. While I can't confirm the truth to his story, the object shows to be composed of a material not found on this world." Winston explained to the others, equally shocked at the events he was hearing.
"Furthermore, I asked Dr. Ziegler to take a blood sample, to corroborate the truth of my claims." As he said this, Mercy walked over next to him with a veil in her hand.
The other where shock when they saw the blood glowing a soft blue!
"As I have come to understand it, this is Energon. My body began to produce it not long after that event, it went unnoticed by me because it continues to turn red when oxygenated, looking like normal blood." Prime explained to everyone's owe.
"So, you had weird tech and odd blood. Strange, but it still doesn't explain why you're the chosen one." Finally, responded McCree.
Before Prime could answer however, the matrix in his chest began to glow, brighter and brighter, until everyone was basked in its glow.
And from that glow came something else, something powerful. Knowledge. Impossible knowledge, knowledge they could not understand, could not comprehend. Yet the knowledge still came.
It revealed the origin of Unicron, the battle with Primus, the creation of his children and the meeting with Orion. They knew the truth, they knew what was to come, the terror that was to come and the last light to save them all.
The only thing they didn't know was how?
"What was that" someone yelled out loud.
"The face of true terror." Another voice exclaimed.
"It was all true."
"The boss really is an alien." This last one came from Bulkhead.
"Prime!" Arcee said turning to find her leader collapse in the floor, eyes still open in a trance like state.
He was like this for a few more seconds before he came back to his senses and tried to stand up.
"Prime, what was all that." asked Bulkhead with great concern.
"I don't know." He said in shock, this had never happened, had Primus done this for him.
"Prime, does Ratchet know about this." Asked a concern Arcee.
After staring in silence for a while he responded, "Yes! To an extent, he was the first to discover the secret behind my blood. I could not tell him all in fear of how he would react, but he knows enough."
"Yeah, I bet." Said Bulk, not knowing how to take the news.
"Why didn't you tell use sooner?" asked Arcee, sounding a little hurt.
"Would you have believed me?" answer Prime.
There was no respond after that, no one dared interrupt the silence that followed what they saw.
Fortunately, they didn't have to; the alarms soon began to sound, as a message was being received.
"Winston! What's going on." asked Tracer, looking at her old friend.
"It's a distress call, someone just attacked a Helix base in Colorado! All their troops are gone, no survivors."
After a minute of reading, he backed down in disbelief and finally said.
"They have Project Damocles."
