Chapter 2: Izuku Midoriya Part 2

"Looks like you have your hand full boy, I best leave you too it." A voice abruptly called out to Izuku.

"S-Sir!" The green-haired high schooler reflexively yelled back. Shrugging Rumi's hands over his head (he was surprised at her lack of resistance), he slipped out of her grasp to briskly walk towards the older man.

"Thank you young man!" The old man said, gratefully accepting Izuku's arm as he wobbled up.

The greenette briefly glanced back at Rumi, who was watching the scene with mild interest, before turning his gaze back to the shorter man. "Is there some place you need to go?" He asked softly.

"No need!" The older man chortled, catching on to the unsaid question. "Besides, don't you have to get to school?"

Izuku blanked for a moment, before raising his wrist in a panic, 'Thank God.' He thought to himself, sighing in relief. 'But…would anyone care even if I was late?'

-Ack!

"O-Oh, I'm so sorry!" Izuku quickly apologized, jerking his hand away from the old man.

"It's…It's quite alright. It obviously was an accident."

"But—!"

"I'm fine, really!" The older man waved him off, though the obvious discoloration on his forearm did nothing to assuage Izuku's guilt. "Now run along kiddo, we're both burning daylight as it is, ha ha!" He said patting him on the shoulder.

A retort had barely left the high schooler's lips, when he noted the look in the other man's eyes. Biting his lip, he lowered his head.

The old man smiled sincerely. "Take care kid, I expect great things from you."

"…Thank you." Izuku said, forcing a smile.

His eyes followed the figure of the older man for a few minutes as he walked off into the distance, before shuffling back to the rabbit heroine. "Mirko-san?"

Rumi raised her head, blinking once, then twice, and then a few more times. "Are you done with you business?" She asked softly, her eyes flicking from the now empty bench back to Izuku.

"Yes, but are you alright?"

The white-haired woman furrowed her brows. "What do you mean?"

"Well, you look kind of lost and…ah," his face went through a few different expressions. "You're ears are drooping, ha, ha…" His voice lowering with each word.

Izuku nervously looked on at the expressionless woman, contemplating his odds of making a successful break for it—

"Hahaha…" Rumi gasped for air, clutching the side of her stomach. "You've…haha…got some big fucking cojones, I'll give you that."

Swallowing the saliva back down his throat. "…You're not going to kill me?"

"I don't know," she said, wiping the tears away from her eyes. "Do you want me too?" She teasingly grinned, her canines flashing under the sunlight.

The greenette violently shook his head.

"Thought so!" Mirko barked, her plump lips curling up. "Hey kid, what's your name?"

"Midoriya Izuku, m'am!" He said, perking up.

Placing her hands on her waist. "Well, Izuku I fucking like you—!"

'SHE LIKES ME?'

"—So I won't make things difficult for you, you help me get where I need to go, and I'll sign that little book of yours."

'Book…ah!' The high schooler bent down to scoop up the fallen notebook and pen. "It's a de…" The words faltering in his mouth, when he took a closer look at the cover.

"What, I thought it was pretty good offer?" Rumi said, crossing her arms under her chest.

"No, no it is it's just," His eyes swimming for an excuse. "T-This is actually my math homework notebook so I can't, um…"

"Hmm, that is a problem."

'Thank God, she bought that.' The book furling under his fingers.

"I got it!" She said, smacking a fist against her palm. "Yo Izuku, pass your phone for a sec."

Though slightly confused, the greenette obliged, unlocking his smartphone before handing it to her.

—Ring! Ring!

"Catch."

"Woah!" The high schooler cupped his hands to catch the device.

"Hehe!" The rabbit heroine put her hand up in a V sign, while displaying Izuku's number on her phone with the other.

Izuku stared down at his screen in disbelief. "I have Mirko's number…" He pinched himself, hard. 'Yep, not a dream.' He thought to himself through the tears.

"Now it's your turn to hold you fucking end of the bargain."

"Huh, r-right! Where are you headed?" To his utter shock once again (he had lost count by this point), Mirko, that Mirko, was actually blushing.

"Well, this is actually the first time I've come to these parts." She grumbled, twiddling her thumbs together. "MOTHERFUCKER!" She said, cracking the pavement under foot. "Do you know where UA is or not?"

"Y-Yeah!" Izuku gulped. "Let me just write it—"

"Text."

"But—"

"Text."

"I—"

"Text. I can honestly do this all day my guy, can you?"

The greenette sighed a breath of resignation, before complying with Rumi's 'request'.

"Now that wasn't so hard was it?" She said, ruffling his hair.

"No…" He mumbled with a faint pink hue on his cheeks.

"Now that we've got that settled," the rabbit heroine bent down to stretch her legs. "I gotta dip before a certain someone gets all in my damn business." Scowling at the last part.

Squeezing Izuku's shoulder. "Don't be a stranger, ok?" Smiling, when she got a hesitant nod from him.

Crouching down. "Oh, and Izuku," Mirko turned her head to the side, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Miss me with that 'Mirko-san' bullshit! It's just Rumi!" Her voice being carried over the wind.

The greenette stood there in silence, looking up at the building in front of him, before letting out a slightly bitter laugh. "Well that just happened, but why do I feel like I'm forgetting something important…" His eyebrows furrowed, as he stared down at the ground — his eyes widening in realization. 'Crap! School!' He immediately broke out into a sprint, leaving behind a small trail of dust.

So yeah, as you guys can probably tell, Mirko is the main female lead. The next chapter will not only be the concluding chapter of this arc, but (fingers crossed) the longest as well.

As always thanks to everyone who has read, reviewed, favorited, and followed!

Side note: I finally managed to bump up the dumbells in my workout regimen from 44 lbs to 50 after being stuck there for like 3 weeks. I also won most of my Jiu-jitsu sparring matches this week (must be the new rashguard I bought, lol).
