Sword strikes in the dead of night. What was a simple assassination mission now turned into a fight for survival between four Imperial Arms users. Akame and Tatsumi were tasked together with the mission to assassinate a rich human trafficker and a corrupt politician, a distant relative of Prime Minister Honest. Despite the length of time spent in avoiding the guards after the mission, outside of the residence Akame and Tatsumi now duel against the Jaegers: Kurome and Wave who were out on patrol. The sisters duel against one another as Tatsumi and Wave duel in their armor, with Tatsumi having transformed into Incursio before encountering the Jaegers. The two katana blades meet each other as the sisters see eye to eye.
"This fight certainly came out of nowhere, huh sister? It was a coincidence that we encountered you." Kurome states. She pushes herself back and lunges forward trading blows with Akame. "If you simply surrender yourself then I will certainly let you live." Kurome swings from the right, Akame perries to the left avoiding the cut.
"Certainly long enough for me to become a puppet," Akame counteracts and swings Murusame on Kurome. Kurome narrowly dodges the strike and strikes back. She lands on the ground and moves forward swinging Yatsafusa against Akame's Murusame. The two sisters trade blows once more, taking turns blocking and striking. Both are equally matched and equally skilled. "Your reaction is slower Kurome. I assumed you've used your Imperial Arms' ability." Akame asks Kurome. Kurome grunts and pushes herself back.
"Why of course. Two of them are out helping Wave in taking out the other member of Night Raid. But I've yet to send all eight of them." Kurome points her blade to the sky and a black-violet energy ball is formed above the tip of Yatsafusa. The energy ball emits bright violet lightning that strikes the ground. The dead of Yatsafusa rises from the ground: three soldiers of the Empire, two Revolutionary Army soldiers, and a female assassin of the Dark Squad Kurome had killed because she expressed a hint of defection. "Now, get her!" The six corpses charge at Akame.
"Kurome, you should not be playing with the dead as if they were puppets. No matter who they may be!" Akame rushes in and slices every single one of them to pieces. Kurome lauches forward.
"Why should I? After all, I'm using them to recuperate my strength so that I can have an open space for you." Kurome passes by and swings Yatsafusa at Akame but she blocks it. The two sisters continue their duel.
Tatsumi combats Wave in their respective Imperial Arms' armor. Tatsumi uses his spear to attack Wave who has transformed into his Imperial Arms' armor: Grand Chariot. Wave dodges the incoming strikes. Dammit. Wave has recently gotten stronger. Perhaps after Kyroch he made himself stronger to assure he won't lose another Jaeger." Tatsumi thinks to himself as he recovers from his attack. "Fortunately I was still wearing Incursio when we ran into Wave and Kurome." Tatsumi turns and sees Wave rushing for an attack. Tatsumi dodges to the side to avoid Wave's strike.
"I see you're still strong as ever, Night Raid!" Wave calls out to Tatsumi, still ignorant of Tatsumi's association with Night Raid. Tatsumi rushes in once more with his spear at the ready, swinging it for an attack from the left. As Tatsumi rushes in for his strike he is interrupted by one of Kurome's puppets, Natala, who appears before Wave blocking Tatsumi's strike. Tatsumi pushes himself back several feet away from the puppet assassin. Tatsumi hears gunshots and feels the bullets ricochet from his armor as the other puppet, Doya, distracts Tatsumi in a three-person attack.
"These puppets of Kurome are becoming a hassle. I'll have to dispose of them quickly!" Tatsumi leaps past Natala to reach for Wave. Wave parries Tatsumi's spear attack.
"You've started to become predictable, Night Raid," Wave tells Tatsumi as he trades blows with Tatsumi. "It would be best for you to turn yourself in and confess crimes! Possibly Esdeath or the Emporer will allow you to live." Wave vainly attempts to convince Tatsumi to turn himself in.
"Impossible for either of them to be capable of mercy. I don't buy into the story about Esdeath being merciful either!" Tatsumi blocks and parries another of Wave's attacks. Tatsumi gets a hit in Wave's midsection of his armor, launching him a good distance away from him.
"Funny, your voice is reminiscent of Tatsumi's." Wave points out as he stands once more ready to fight.
"Dammit, I have to find Akame and fall back. This isn't going well for us. I have to get Akame and leave." Tatsumi thinks to himself seeing how the odds aren't going in Night Raid's favor.
Akame blocks another of Kurome's strikes. Slowly Akame is getting the upper hand over Kurome. "I don't want to hurt you Kurome. It would be best for you to fall back while you still have the chance." Akame tries to reason with Kurome. Kurome simply laughs at Akame's plea for her to turn back while she has the chance.
"Run away?! Run away?! HA! Do you think I can run away when I have you in front of me," Kurome points her blade at Akame. "There is no way that I will lose you, Akame. You hurt me before when you left the Empire," Kurome positions herself in the hanging stance, raising her Imperial Arms with the sharp side of the blade facing the sky. "Once I kill you, you and Natala will be my puppets forever and ever."
"I see then," Akame repats Kurome's stance. "Then I will do that I must," Akame tells Kurome. Before either of the sisters can strike one another, a shadowy figure steps in from the shadows softly laughing and clapping.
"This battle between sisters sure is interesting. But unfortunately, I must cut it short." The shadowy figure appears from the shadows of the trees and soon reveals himself to be the Prime Minister's son, Syura.
"The son of Prime Minister Honest." Akame reacts bluntly.
"What are you doing here?" Kurome asks in a blunt and disgusted manner. Syura turns to Akame.
"Hello, Akame. I must say that the two of you certainly did put in a good performance for me. But I have to cut things short." Syura walks up to Kurome as she slowly releases from her stance. "Soon you and your Night Raid compatriot will be overwhelmed by a simple majority," Syura's words slowly get to Akame. "As for you, Akame. I wish to have you as a personal toy of mine. Perhaps you would be my favorite if you last long enough." Syura insults Akame. Kurome catches on to the pervasive comment from the Prime Minister's son.
"Don't talk about my sister like that! I don't care if you're the son of the Prime Minister-" Kurome responds in disdain but is backhanded by Syura. Syura's action catches Akame's ire.
"Silence you filthy cur! Don't forget who I am! So know your damn place!" Syura scolds Kurome. He looks back at Akame and senses her ire. "I see that you're angry. But since you're here. I have the chance to use a new trump card of my own creation." Syura reveals his hidden Imperial Arms: Shambala. Akame charges forward, letting a part of her anger at seeing her sister being struck take over.
"You're done!" Akame cries out, rushing with the eyes with the intention to kill. Akame jumps up in mid-air, ready to bring her sword down onto Syura. But Akame is stopped and held in mid-air as a light appears below her with a Tao symbol beginning to rise from the ground. Syura laughs maniacally.
"Now then Akame, time to send you off into another part of this world, space, or perhaps even in another world. Boon voyage, Akame!" Syura taunts as he laughs as Akame screams when the tao symbol portal fully consumes her and her Imperial Arms. Finally engulfing her whole and disappearing.
"No... sister." Kurome looks out longingly. Seeing her sister disappear in front of her, Kurome collapses to her knees. She wants to be happy that her traitorous sister is gone but feels none of it. Nothing but sadness and longing. Syura laughs happily that his new trump card has worked.
"Ha! Ha! Ha! I can't believe it worked! Shambala's ultimate trump card of my own design! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Syura collapses forward to his hands and knees as he vomits out blood. "Dammit! I forgot, whenever I use this a good portion of my strength is gone and decreases my life span." He looks at his Imperial Arms. "I only have a good three or four uses left." Syura struggles to stand up, but he stands and wipes the blood from his mouth.
Kurome stands up and calls out to Syura. "What have you done?!" Kurome shouts angrily. "Why would you send my sister away?! What the hell is wrong with you!" Kurome snaps out of her despair and sadness. Angry and possed by Syura's actions that he did against Akame. "I do not care if you're the son of the prime minister. I will kill you!- Aha!" Kurome is kicked down to the ground, and she groans in pain.
"I sad silence you cur! The only reason I did this is that I want to try in getting Akame before you Jaegers did. If you want her so badly then you can have what remains of left of her." Syura walks up to Kurome and kneels to her level. Be begins to caress her face with his right hand and sticks his thumb in her mouth with a face of malintent in his eyes and a smile. "But if you keep protesting, then I would just have to be a suitable replacement toy for me. Heh-heh-heh."
"Get your hands off of Kurome!" Wave calls out catching Syura's attention. Syura stands up looking down at the two.
"Wave!" Kurome snaps out of her depression and pushes herself away from Syura.
"Great, you're back," Syrua changes to a displeasing tone. "Have you captured that other member of Night Raid yet?"
"Unfortunately no. He got away, but that is beside the point. I thought I'd told you to not lay your hands on her." Wave tells off Syura. Wave directs his attention to Kurome. "Are you. "Are you hurt Kurome?"
"Wave," Kurome looks up at Wave. "I'm alright. Thank you." She collects her Imperial Arms.
"Come, let's get you back to the Jaegers headquarters. Run will check up on you." Wave and Kurome begin to walk back together to the imperial palace, to Jaeger headquarters.
"How dare you act with insubordination! Taking my toy away! I will have you executed!" Syura stands and threatens Wave, trying to intimidate Wave. But Wave hears none of it. "Do you know who I am?! I'm the son of the Prime Minister and the leader of your better replacements!" Syura cries out as Wave and Kurome keep on walking away.
"Listen. Once we get back we'll get you healed. After that tell me what happened." Walve tells Kurome.
"You didn't have to do that, Wave. I'm capable of getting rid of him myself." Kurome looks away from Wave.
"Didn't look to be that way. Just be glad I was there for you. But either way, you and I are comrades. I will always be there for you." Wave tells Kurome as the two continue their walk back to the Jaegers' headquarters. Syura turns in the opposite direction and leaves.
"Dammit what was that? How did he get Akame like that?" Tatsumi, still in his Incursio armor looks down from the treetops. He's able to use Incursio's trump card to turn himself invisible and sneak away. "I have to report this back to the Boss. I don't want them to worry that Akame might have died. Think, what happened the last time when this happened to me?" Tatsumi recollects his past experiences when the last time he was sent away by Syura. The same tao design that sent him and Esdeath to an uninhabited tropical island, Tatsumi suspects the same must've happened to Akame. "I must go carefully about this." Tatsumi looks up at the night sky. "Akame, where are you?" Tatumi hopes for Akame to be safe.
28 October 1917
Ypres, Belgium
The sounds of gunfire breaks through the air intermittently. Mud, smoke, and shrapnel render the area in a mixture of brown and grey. Trees had fallen long ago and stripped of their leaves as a few still stand. Buildings lay in waste and ruin from where they once stood. Blood and bodies of both friends and foes litter the battlefield. The sun reaches its peak but the rays can't through the thick clouds created by fire and gunshots with the occasional light drizzle that comes and goes. The cries of the wounded are muffled by their own blood or snuffed out by gunshots and many are never heard. What was supposed to be a mission to break and halt the enemy's advance yields no result except for the same conclusion, endless dead. A squad of five that made an advance was cut down to all but one surviving within mere minutes.
In a shallow foxhole rests a soldier of the German Empire. "Scheiße. Alles geht zum Teufel. Schon bald ist jeder Soldat tot." (Shit. All has gone to hell. Before long every soldier is dead. ) The German soldier, Johannes Rotehann mentally recounts as he lies on the small incline, cursing at his ill fate. The moments before they were on the attack through no man's land to attack and break the British lines. But they were turned back in the British's counter-offensive. Johannes appears tired and worn out by the constant fighting that has been repeated in the past couple of years. He turns onto his stomach and climbs up from the small incline to look out. All around him are the corpses of his comrades lying throughout the battlefield of Ypres.
"Jo, Jo, Johannes!" A young soldier's voice cries out. Johannes remains and looks around and spots the soldier. The soldier, a young boy no older than eighteen years and a fresh recruit calls out to Johannes. "Bitte... hilf mir." (Please, help me.)The young recruit softly calls out to Johannes as he tries to reach out to him but is too hurt to move.
Johannes instantly recognizes the new recruit, Fritz, from a newly trained company of young recruits being sent to the front with Johannes' unit. "Psst. Sei leise, gerade sei leise!" (Be quiet, just be quiet.) Johannes whispers out to the wounded Fritz, putting a finger between his lips gesturing for Fritz to be quiet. Fritz looks up at Johannes with a face full of fear and terror, a face all too common Johannes has seen with new recruits.
"Ich...ich will nicht hier sterben, Johanny." (I... I don't want to die. I don't wanna die here, Johanny!) Fritz calls out as he softly sobs, softly crying in pain.
"Und das wirst du nicht. Ich werde dir helfen, aber du musst leise sein. Ja?" (And you will not. I'll help you. But you have to stay quiet! Yes?) Johannes whispers out telling Fritz to stop moving. Johannes looks up and spots a patrol squad of British soldiers coming near their position. They check each of the German soldiers that lay dead making sure they remain dead.
"Ich... ich kann meine Beine nicht mehr spüren! Es tut weh, es-es tut so weh!" (My legs. I... I cannot feel my legs. It hurts, it-it hurts so bad) Fritz begins to slightly raise his voice.
"I can hear a survivor!" One of the British soldiers tells his officer. The British squadron hears Fritz's cries and begins to walk over to his position.
"Sei bitte ruhig und leise! Sie kommen hier! Bitte stopp, Fritz!" (Please! Be calm and quiet. They're coming here. Please Fritz, stop.) Johannes whispers out louder to Fritz. But Fritz doesn't listen as he begins to slowly crawl whimpering in pain. He tries to not let the pain of his wounded legs get to him but it was all for naught.
"Bitte. Es ... es tut so weh. Ich will meine Mutti, ich möchte meine Mutter wiedersehen! Bitte hilf mir!" (Please. It... it hurts a lot. I... I want my mommy, I want to see my mommy again! Please help me!) Fritz begins to whimpers and breathes heavly in pain as he continues to crawl, causing the British to get closer.
"Stop Fritz! Hör auf damit dich zu bewegen oder du wirst hier sterben!" (Stop Fritz! Stop what you are doing Stop moving or you will die here. They're coming!) Johannes attempts to warn Fritz once more but in a quieter voice to not reveal his position as the British are getting closer. But as before Fritz doesn't listen.
"Es tut mir leid, es tut mir leid, es tut mir leid, es tut mir leid!" (I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!) Fritz apologizes as he continues his crawl on his stomach. Then, an estranged bayonet from the ground is driven into his leg. He cries out loudly in pain, flailing his arms trying to get Johannes to help him, but Fritz's fate is all but sealed. The sight causes Johannes to crawl back down from the incline, retreating into his foxhole. One of the British soldiers gets close and takes out his spiked trench club.
"Heh heh. Found you, Jerry." The British soldier turns Fritz over on his back.
"N-NEIN!" (N-No!) Fritz raises his arms to block as he screams in fear, begging for his life. The British soldier swings his club and smashes Fritz's face a couple of times till he stops moving. Johannes can hear the brutal and blood gargling screams of Fritz being snuffed out, he lies close to the ground as he tries to calm his breath.
"That's one Jerry down. Search for any survivors." The British officer orders his men. "Make sure none are left alive. Brass' orders." The British squadron continues to inspect. Johannes lies close to the ground.
"That's one Jerry down, search for any other survivors." The British officer orders. "Make sure you leave none alive." The British squad begins to move out. Johannes lies on the ground with his face half-buried in the mud acting dead. Every second that passes feels like an eternity, every second not being able to breathe is one step closer to death.
One of the British soldiers comes up to Johannes with his bayonet equipped, he pokes Johannes's side trying to get a reaction. No reaction. "Hm, must be dead. Oh well. This sector is clear sir." The British soldier reports.
"Alright, let's go back. Let the rats enjoy their meal." The British officer orders his men to rally and return to their lines. They all walk to their lines after their patrol scoured the area for any survivors of their own side. A couple of minutes pass that felt like hours, Johannes slowly rises from the ground assured that the British are gone. He removes his leather glove and wipes his face of any mud that is stuck on him, he wipes his hand on his tunic and replaces back the glove. From his right side, he spots his Gewehr 98 rifle and picks it up shaking off any mud that got onto it. He considers cleaning it soon but only in the safety of his own line. He walks up to the now-dead Fritz to pay his respects, he checks for Frtiz's identification tag and breaks off the under portion of it, putting it in the pocket of his tunic.
"Ach Fritz. Es tut mir leid, dass ich dir nicht helfen konnte." (Oh Fritz. I am sorry that I was not able to help you.) Johannes apologizes to Fritz for not being able to save him and leaving him to die. "Bitte, Ruhe in Frieden." (Please, rest in peace.) Johannes closes Fritz's eyes and turns him over onto his stomach so that at least if someone finds him they won't see the damage the spiked club had done to the poor soldier. Johannes turns and walks away. Minutes of walking passes, Johannes senses rain beginning to pour slightly heavier than before. Walks slightly quickly hoping to find a trench bunker or a still-standing building to rest in if there is any left. "Herr Gott, warum kämpfen wir in diesem Krieg? Wir sind nur Junge, aber warum?" (God, why must we fight in this war? We're only boys, but why?) Johannes prays as he finds his way through an abandoned trench line he found himself in, keeping his guard up. He recollects why he'd signed up in the first place, a spur of youthful naivety and nationalist fervor at the moment soon brought him to a war that he didn't expect to turn out in this state. "Christus bitte hilf mir. Ich frage dich zu mir zu helfen um am Leben zu bleiben" (Christ please help me. I'm asking you to help me stay alive.) As Johannes makes his way through the trench line he steps up on the fire step to look out to think. His thoughts bring him back only the actions of fighting in the trenches and in no man's land. Violent and horrible as there is little in the way of good memories. A bullet is fired and misses him by a foot, striking the wood adjacent to him. "Scheiße!" (Shit!) Johannes cries out.
"Jerry spotted. Do not lose him!" The British has spotted Johannes from several yards away.
Johannes runs through the trench line to get away from the British. He hears the Brtish slowly gaining in on him as he makes his way through the trench. He reaches a crossroads, one left and the other right. "Scheiße wo jetzt? Rechts!" (Shit where now? Right!) Johannes makes a right turn running as he tries to escape death. He stops before a hole that is made inside of the trench line on his right. He ponders whether to enter the dugout as the enclosed space would be certain death if the British entered or a grenade was thrown in, but Johannes has no time to think.
"Find that Jerry. Do not let him escape!" The British begin to slowly close in on him. Johannes enters the dugout to hide away from the British. The trench tunnel was only four meters deep and led into a tight-fitting room that could hold no more than a squadron of soldiers to hide from artillery. Johannes hides behind a wall to hide his figure, no wider than an average soldier. The British soldiers stop at the entrance of the dugout.
So, he decides to enter the dugout to hide After making his decision, Johannes gets inside of the dugout and sees it leads several feet downwards. He reaches the bottom and controls his breathing. The British soldiers stop at the position where Johannes was before.
"Where'd he go?" A British soldier asks.
"Don't know?" Another British soldier replies. "Perhaps he went inside that dugout. The British soldier takes out a Mills Bomb and pulls the pin and throws the active bomb. The British soldiers leave the position as they continue on with their patrol. Johannes sees the bomb and quickly crouches with his back to the bomb. Seven seconds pass as Johannes cowers, but no explosion happens. Johannes turns around and softly laughs at the near-death he had. He stands up and picks up the grenade, throwing it back out. The grenade explodes, and the British hear the explosion.
"Should we investigate?" The British soldier asks.
"Nah, most likely he's dead. Let the rats enjoy their feast." The British soldier who threw the Mills bomb at Johannes replied, the British squad continue on with their patrol.
Johannes lies on a wall and collapses to the ground. In the dugout, Johannes takes a moment to catch his breath and wipe out the visible dirt from his rifle. Johannes looks up with a sigh of relief. "Wenn sie nur mit Rationalismus und Verständnis sprechen können, nicht mit Tod und Hass."Wenn sie nur mit Rationalismus und Verständnis sprechen können, nicht mit Tod und Hass." (If they can only speak with rationalism and understanding, not with death and hate.) Johannes whispers as he lays his head back. He rests up as the rain slowly begins to pick up, but he knows that the rain would pass in a few minutes as it always had in Ypres. Johannes removes his gloves and places them adjacent to his rifle. Johannes reaches into his pocket and pulls out a wooden rosary his mother gave to him before his deployment to the front. "Ach warum Herrgott? Ich will leben und ich brauche deine helfen. Bitte, geben mir einem Wunder, einen Partner mit dem ich kämpfen kann. Gebe mir die Stärke und Mut zu kämpfen wieder." (Oh why God? I want to live and I need your help. Please, give me a miracle, a partner to fight with. Give me the strength and courage to fight once more.) Johannes prays. After praying he puts his rosary away, closing his eyes he dreams of his home back in Cologne along with his parents and siblings. He, his friends, and the rest of his graduating class in the spur of their youth volunteered a couple of years back in 1915, half a year since the war has started. But now so few remnants of his friend group and his graduating class that he could count all of them in only two hands. As Johannes continues to catch his breath and waiting for the rain to pass by, he removes the bayonet and places it back into its scabbared. As Johannes rests for a moment a bright purplish circle appears with a tao symbol opening in front of him, waking Johannes up. Johannes replaces his gloves and grabs his rifle and crawls on his back to the wall parallel to him keeping his rifle trained at what might come up. "Ich habe nur fünf Kugeln in dem Gehwer und zusätzlich fünfzehn mit." (I only have five bullets in the rifle and additionally fifteen more on me.) Johannes thinks to himself as he keeps his rifle aimed at what might come out of the circle. Of all things that Johannes assumes would come out of the circle a person pops out of the circle, a young woman with long black hair, she is clad in black with red accents appears out of the Tao circle.
The young woman, Akame, yells as she is thrown out of the circle with the circle disappearing behind her. Johannes keeps his rifle aimed at Akame not knowing if she is a threat or not. Seeing that it's only a young woman in a black trench coat Johannes slightly lowers his rifle but still keeps it trained as he spots her sword on the ground. "Where am I?" Akame asks herself. She looks around the trench dugout, "This couldn't be the Imperial Palace dungeons, nor its prisons. Perhaps the front lines?" Akame thinks out loud. She spots her Imperial Arms: Murusame and picks it up. Akame turns and spots Johannes on the ground with his rifle trained on her.
"Feind oder Freund?" (Friend or foe?) Johannes asks Akame. Akame slightly tilts her head, confused by what Johannes had said.
"What?" Akame asks, confused about her situation and what Johannes had said to her while pointing his rifle at her.
"Feind oder Freund!" (Friend or foe?) Johannes repeats the command again. He looks down and spots Akame's Imperial Arms still drawn. "Lasst Ihr Schwert auf den Boden fallen." (Drop your sword on the ground.) Johannes demanded Akame, pointing at her sword with his Gewehr and directing it to the ground.
Akame points Murusame at Johannes. "Beg pardon?"
"Sie haben much gehört! Lasst dein Schwert und wegtreten fallen. (You heard me, drop your sword and step back.) Johannes repeats the command once more.
"What could this man be saying?" Akame thinks to herself. "He's pointing a firearm at me, and yet that uniform is neither Imperial nor Revolutionary." Akame thinks further. "Perhaps if I act friendly he perhaps may give me some answers as to know where I am. But there is a clear difference in how we speak." Akame looks at Johannes with suspicion in her eyes, Akame puts Murasame into its scabbard. "I'm sorry if I have startled you. But I do not understand what you're saying. So let me start once more. Who are you and where am I." Akame asks Johannes, seeing that she had put her sword away Johannes lowers his rifle and musters up the English that he knows.
"I see you can speak English und not German. I can speak some English." Johannes responded, pausing every few words, trying to remember the words to put into a congruent sentence.
"Understandable, but can you tell me where I am and what side do you serve?" Akame asks.
"I should ask you the same... Fräulein. You came out of that circle that appeared. I don't even know where I am." Johannes responded, speaking a bit slowly in trying to remember specific words to say. Johannes uses his rifle to help himself up on his two legs. "Für me, I am Gefreiter. Johannes Rotehann, das Deutsche Reich." Johannes responded.
"Doitsche Reich?" Akame asks. "Upon closer inspection, he isn't dressed exactly like an Imperial Soldier of the Empire nor a Revolutionary soldier." Akame inspects the soldier, a long grey overcoat that ends at the shins, black boots, his gear, and a grey stahlhelm that had seen months of combat and lost its shine.
"As für where we are, I don't know, but we are in Ypren." Johannes tells Akame.
"Ypren? There is no place in the Empire called Ypres." Akame responded.
"Empire? What do you mean?" Johannes asks with a confused expression on his face.
"You know the Empire, right?" Akame responded.
"I do, but which one? British... German?" Johannes responded.
"I guess I can rightfully assume now that I could actually be in another world instead of my old one." Akame thinks to herself. "From what I understand, Mr. Johannes, could it be that I'm in another world," Akame concludes.
"I don't know exactly. But see that you came from the circle... you might be from another Welt, Fräulein? Also, ist Gefreiter Rotehann, my rank und Familie name." Johannes responded. "Und your n-name?" Johannes asks but Akame doesn't respond, wanting to keep her identity a partial secret. "Then I hope you do not mind me to call you Fräulein? Genau?" Jonannes responded. " Well, ich hoffe du kannst go to your Welt."
"I don't believe it would that simple, Gerfreiter. The man who sent me here is an Imperial Arms user. Unless a miracle happens then there would be no way for me to go back." Akame responded.
"Imperial Arms? I have not heard of them. But ich kenne... um... know one," Johannes turns to the exit, "The rain könnte ended by now. It will be save to leave." Johannes responded. Johannes walks through the hall. "Na, you coming?" Johannes asks.
"Right then, until the portal opens up, I'll simply follow for now." Akame rationalizes and decides to follow Johannes to wait for a portal to open up that will send her back into her own world.
Night Raid's Secret hideout
Tatsumi had returned to Night Raid's secret hideout alone. After the attack by the jaegers and an intervention by the Prime Minister's son Tatsumi was left speechless in how to describe what has happened. But seeing how he was the only one to return, the remaining members of Night Raid assumed the worse.
"What do you mean Akame just simply vanished!?" Najenda asks Tatsumi in a disappointed and angered tone.
"I know it sounds crazy but it's true," Tatsumi reports to a calm Najenda but inside she is furious, he recomposes himself and continues on with his report. "After completing the mission, Akame and I encountered the Jaegers and got into a duel with them. Akame was facing off against her sister, and I against Wave. During our duel, I used the moment to use Incursio's trump card to turn invisible. I did it to grab Akame and get out of there. But before I got to her, the Prime Minister's son was there and used his Imperial Arms on Akame." Tatsumi reports.
"What did he do?" Najenda asks, angry that now the son of the Prime Minister had gotten himself involved in their affairs, a man she looks at with disdain.
"I don't know what happened after, but he said something about sending Akame off. I hope he didn't send Akame to someplace horrible." Tatsumi further comments.
"Of course he wouldn't," Najenda responded. "Once he has eyes on a woman, he would go to any lengths to use them as a sex toy and break her. He isn't exactly stupid enough to send Akame off to an uninhabited place either," Najenda further continues. "In order to confirm Akame's whereabouts, we'll need to infiltrate the Imperial Palace. But our spy numbers are very limited. That is why you, Tatsumi, need to do this yourself." Najenda tells Tatsumi. Tatsumi understands the mission that Najenda orders him to do.
"What? Why me?" Tatsumi asks, shocked by such a tall order.
"Because you're the one who was with her and lost her. It's basically all on you to find her." Mine responded.
"Yup, good luck bud." Lubbock gets closer and places his arm around Tatsumi. "Hope you get to save an important member of Night Raid and the Revolutionary Army."
"Oh... Lubbock and Mine will accompany you too as well." Najenda orders.
"WHAT!" The two responded with shock by now having to do the work that Tatsumi has messed up on.
"Wait, you know I'm not much of a direct fighter. I can only do so much with my Imperial Arms and only when I have the upper hand!" Lubbock objects.
"And in case you forgot, my face is plastered all over the capital!" Mine raises her objection.
"It's final. This is not an assassination mission but an information-gathering mission and hopefully a rescue mission. Find out about Akame's whereabouts and bring her back. Use any resources to your advantage. If you get a confirmation that she is indeed inside the Imperial Palace, then go in. If not, avoid it. Clear?"
"Yes, Boss." Tatsumi and Mine responded.
"Yes, Najenda" Lubbock responds. All three soon leave the hide-out.
"Well, I hope they all come out alive. How many are there of us left anyways?" Leone approaches Najenda.
"Only six of us. Let's just hope they live long enough to see the revolution to its fullest." Najenda responds to Leone's question as she takes out a cigarette and lighter to smoke.
"But finding Akame will take priority over assassinations. After that, the revolution is to take place." Leone responds. Najenda then lets out a puff of smoke.
"Correct, let's just hope her search doesn't take too long. Because when the revolution starts, Akame will be the key to taking down the Empire." Najenda responds to Leone after letting out a puff of smoke. "Which reminds me, Leone. You should also go and gather intel with them. Helps speed things up and making it easier to find Akame. If Mine hadn't mentioned it, I would've kept her back. Since her face is plastered throughout the Capital."
"You can count on me, Boss!" Leone then leaves the meeting chamber.
