CHAPTER 197
"Get up, bitch."
Grabbed roughly by her hair, Sarah suddenly felt herself being pulled to her feet and dragged out of whatever small confine she was being held in. It was a terrifying and disorienting experience, made so much more so by the fact that she had been blindfolded and her hands tied behind her with rope from the second she had been taken.
The last thing Sarah remembered was scrapping furiously on the street against whoever had been following her, but the hooded figure overpowering her with somewhat ease and knocking her out. So she wasn't exactly sure who had even taken her, but given what had happened directly beforehand, she had a pretty good idea. That only made her situation feel even more hopeless than ever. This wasn't some kidnapping where she could've tried to reason or pay her way out. No… the kidnappers weren't motivated by any of that. They wanted her dead more than they wanted her alive, which meant that any moment now, her life could be ripped away from her once and for all.
But she wasn't dead. Not yet, so she was desperate to fight her way out before it was too late, but the worst part was that she couldn't do that. She couldn't even try, as her vision was being blocked and her arms were tied behind her, rendering her completely immobile and completely useless. That changed though when she felt the blindfold yanked off her head and she found herself once again face to face with Marcos' father, Felipe.
Immediately, Sarah's face knitted into a deep scowl as she saw him. He pulled her up to her feet and began to pull her out of the small room she had seemingly been trapped in, and pushed her out so that they were in the open air. As Sarah stepped outside, still restrained but at least able to see now, she was stunned to find herself at Golf n Stuff, the amusement park, of all places. A cheap place to blow off steam and have fun, she and Marcos had capitalized on it countless times in the past year, so it took Sarah less than a second to recognize the mini golf course, the prize booth in front of them, and the abandoned maze in the distance.
"What are we doing here?" Sarah snapped, trying to shrug Marcos' father's arms off her as they walked, but he kept one hand squeezing her arm the entire time, preventing her from being able to make a run for it.
It wasn't Marcos' father who responded though. It was someone else, a voice that came from behind her and yet she recognized it in an instant.
"This, my dear girl, is where you, your boyfriend and all of Miyagi-Do die. Pretty soon actually, as they're already on their way here!" Silver's unmistakable voice purred from behind her. As Sarah looked to face him, she saw that he was clearly dressed for combat. He wasn't wearing a suit or anything like that. Instead, he was donning his Cobra Kai gi, ready to either demolish all of his enemies or die wearing the gi that had given him everything.
As Sarah glared at him, missing pieces began to click together in her head. There was going to be a massive imminent fight, that much was certain. According to Silver, it would be Marcos and all of Miyagi-Do that would be fighting against Silver, Marcos' father, Sensei Kim and all of the other enemies that Silver had recruited for this particular task. And they would be fighting here… A park that had historically been the venue of so much joy and delight would now be the final resting place of either Miyagi-Do or Cobra Kai.
Sarah's biggest concern, as it quite often was, was Marcos. He was on his way over here right now?! Sarah looked around the abandoned theme park, her eyes adjusting to the darkness of the dead of night, and she saw exactly what he would be walking into. Silver had built himself a massive army. Henchmen of all ages, of all experience levels, from all corners of the globe were all ready to obliterate the entire resistance against them. A few of the members of Silver's army Sarah recognized, some of them massive shocks to her, but the vast majority of them she didn't. Although, every single one of them possessed one similarity: their facial expressions and body language. It was… a whole of nothing. They were all absolutely emotionless, and that was the only thing more terrifying than a group of rage-filled fighters. Because emotionless fighters… they had no limits. They weren't afraid to do whatever it took to decimate their opponents, no matter how morally terrible it might be.
Noticing the slight fear in Sarah's eyes, Marcos' father chuckled.
"Yeah… that's right. You see it now, huh?" Felipe remarked. "What they're walking into… it's a lost cause. There's no way Marcos or any of the rest of them walk out of here tonight."
"Fuck you." Sarah snarled at him, desperately trying to yank her arms free from the ropes with which she had been tied up, but there was no point. She was tied up good, and only someone helping untie her would get her out of the mess and allow her to fight.
Felipe was clearly enjoying Sarah's fury and discomfort, as he laughed at her.
"It's really funny that you think I'm such a monster, you know?" Felipe commented. "Because never forget, that beloved boyfriend of yours… he's 50% me."
"Marcos is nothing like you." Sarah snapped. "He's a good person. 10 times the person you'll ever be."
"Yeah? Let's see. Watch what he does tonight when he arrives." Felipe remarked. "I dare you to look into his eyes and see the look on his face. That aggression, that anger, that ruthlessness that you seem to condemn me for… there's going to be no mistaking that he's my son. He might try to hide it most of the time, but you're going to see… when it comes down to relying on gut instincts, Marcos is exactly the same 'monster' that I am. He's going to hurt people, maybe even kill, and he won't even bat an eye. Because deep down, he's the exact same merciless motherfucker that I am."
"I hope so. Because if he is, that means that we'd finally be rid of you on this Earth." Sarah muttered to Felipe.
"I'm terrified." He replied, drily, in response. "Mark my words… the day my pathetic son is able to beat me in a fight is the day that I die, I can guarantee you that much. And that day won't be today."
"Trust me, it is. Because even if he doesn't manage to kill you, I swear to you that I'll kill you myself. We're not letting you leave here. I'm not letting you terrorize Marcos or anyone else ever again."
"Forgive me for not being too scared." Felipe commented. "Because even if all of you idiotic teenagers do manage to beat me, then what? You really think it's over? You really think you're making it out, when you're up against an army of some of the best trained fighters in the world? No… either way, you're not leaving here tonight."
Suddenly, after a loud DING filled the air, Felipe pulled out his phone and he opened it to reveal a text. He grinned widely.
"Ooh… it's starting. Wish me luck!" He exclaimed cheerfully, dragging Sarah faster through the park, not replacing the blindfold over her eyes so she could still see, but instead resorting to the rope ties on her hands, as well as a gag so she couldn't speak, couldn't shout for help.
He then handed Sarah off to an unfamiliar henchman, who took Sarah to where she would be hidden at least during the beginning of the fight. It happened to be in the heart of the laser tag arena's twisting and turning maze. All part of Silver's grand plan…
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
On the other side of the theme park, inside one of the few buildings of the amusement park (the empty Administration Building), the four leaders of Silver's army regrouped - Silver, Kim Da Eun, Hector and Felipe. In the room with them too was baby Laura, who Hector was holding and trying to coax to be quiet as the baby did nothing but scream and wail at the top of her lungs. It was almost like she could sense the fact that she was in the hands of the enemy.
"Shhhh. Shhhhh." Hector tried to quiet her, cradling the baby in his arms. Her ear-splitting cries were pissing off everyone in the room.
"Will that baby ever shut up?" Silver muttered.
"I'm sorry, man. Kids, right?" Hector remarked. He didn't really give a shit about the child in his arms, but at the same time, he knew that she was vital for his getting vengeance on Miguel Diaz and his entire family.
"Well don't get too attached. We might have to kill it at some point." Silver commented bluntly, nothing but sludge pumping from his heart into his veins.
"Can't you just smack it against the wall or something to shut it up?" Felipe grumbled, his fingers in his ears to try and drown out the baby's cries.
"God. How were you ever allowed to father children?" Hector remarked.
Silver wasn't really listening to them though, his eyes fixed on the computer in front of him, which displayed CCTV camera footage of the entire park. He suddenly raised a hand to cut off the other 3 criminal masterminds who were heading this plan with him, and he pointed at his screen, showing them the new movement that had appeared close to the entrance.
"They're here." Silver announced.
Immediately, Hector, Felipe and Kim turned to look at the security cameras, and as they squinted at the footage, they saw that he was right. All 12 of the teenagers that they had expected were storming through the gates of Golf n Stuff.
Springing into action, Silver turned to one of Hector's henchmen, who was guarding the door of the room they were currently in.
"You stay here. Guard this room. Don't let anyone get to the baby. Do whatever it takes." Silver told the henchman, before turning to the 3 leaders. "Come on, guys. We need to get to our respective locations. It's time for the game to begin..."
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Silver, Hector, Kim and Felipe all split up. They had gone over the plan numerous times prior to this moment, so by now it was second nature to all of them. They knew exactly where to go, all of them splitting up across the whole park, in hopes of catching the fish that swam in every corner of the pond. Every single person part of this plan - both the leaders and all of their respective henchmen - were rigidly organized with military planning and precision. They all had their exact spot that they needed to be, in a bid to maximize the amount of pain that they'd be able to inflict on their enemies. They wouldn't make the mistake of having all of their eggs in one basket, all of their troops on one side of the park, and risk being overwhelmed by a whole group of opponents. No… they were instead going to force the Miyagi-Dos to divide and conquer, potentially split up, and allow them to pick them off one by one. It was another reason why Silver had planned the idea of staggering the arrivals of both the teenagers and the adults who would inevitably eventually arrive. Too many people to fight at the same time and Silver knew that there was always a chance that his side could be overrun. But now, with the numerical advantage and skill advantage that they had, the fight would be over before the adults even arrived. This… this was what Silver had spent months planning. It was all coming to fruition perfectly. There was just one part left to come…
So while Felipe, Hector and Kim ventured to different sides of the park, it was Silver who walked to the entrance to greet the Miyagi-Dos, flanked by a couple of the henchmen, but not quite the best ones. The best fighters in his army would be saved for later, when they really needed them…
"Remember. Keep an eye out for Sarah and Laura at all times. They're the reason that we're here. Don't get distracted and lose sight of that at any point." Miguel whispered to his teammates as they walked into the eerily quiet park, their heads whipping around in a circle as they looked for the imminent threat, but couldn't see anything but the familiar park that they had been to so many times in the past.
As Miguel spoke to his side, he was referring to Marcos more than anyone. The entire car ride over to Golf n Stuff, the Cobra hadn't said a word. He hadn't even looked in any of their directions. He merely sat completely still in his seat, staring down at his hands, and the Miyagi-Dos could feel the wrath emanating from him. He was a ticking bomb, and while it was great to have such an adept brawler like him on their side, and they were all incredibly thankful that they were finally fighting with him rather than against him for once, they knew that he needed to remain completely focused. Little did they know though that they had nothing to worry about. The fire that they thought was burning inside Marcos, smoke clouding his brain, was instead icy cold. He was razer-focused about what he had come here to do, and he wouldn't be leaving here without anything less than that.
Marcos didn't say a word to Miguel's comment though. He merely stared out straight ahead, trying desperately to see any kind of movement whatsoever that would tip him off to Silver or his father's location.
"Watch each other's backs." Robby added quietly to the group. "The enemy could be anywhere. They could be trying to approach from any angle."
He was, in fact, right. However, it wasn't exactly the angle they had expected. All of a sudden, they were greeted by the sight of Terry Silver strolling over to them, with the first sight of a few enemies following closely behind him.
"Well, well, well… you actually came. I must say, I'm impressed. Of course, I expected nothing less, but I'm still impressed all the same." Silver told them as the Miyagi-Dos stood face to face with Silver and 4 fully grown henchmen behind him. They had no clue who any of them were, but with the numbers being a 12 on 4 fight, they fancied their chances.
However, the fact that they didn't recognise any of the henchmen confirmed the fact that there were more lying in wait somewhere in the park. Miguel's father, Marcos' father, Kim Da Eun, her other senseis of the Fist, and any other enemy that they already knew Silver had recruited were still out there somewhere. There was no chance that these 4 people would be the only people they'd be fighting.
"Where are Sarah and Laura?" Marcos immediately demanded, practically spitting with rage as he stood face to face with the man who had taken her.
"They're here somewhere in the park for you to find. Alive and well, I assure you." Silver reassured them. "Now I have a question for you, Mr. Oliveira. I believe we specified on the phone for the 7 of you. Not the rest of them. This is an awful lot more people than I told you to bring."
Silver gestured to the younger 5 Miyagi-Do students as he spoke, the students who, according to their deal with Silver, technically weren't supposed to be here.
"We did exactly what you said. No cops, no adults, no weapons. That was the deal." Robby stated angrily. Silver chuckled and shook his head.
"Oh, no. Mr. Keene, you misunderstand me. I don't say this as a bad thing. I say this as a good one. All the more people for Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence to have to watch fall before their very eyes." Silver remarked. "Besides… I already had a feeling that you would try to do this, so I decided to call upon a few extra reinforcements of my own."
Just then, there was more movement as, to the immense shock of every single Miyagi-Do present, out walked Cobra Kai's almost entire student roster. Kyler, Piper, Mitch and the rest of Cobra Kai's dojo, at least those who were loyal to Silver, were all there, prowling towards the younger Miyagi-Do students. The only people who weren't among them were of course Marcos and Sarah, as well as a certain brother fighting duo, who were mysteriously nowhere to be found.
As all of Miyagi-Do faced the group of teenagers, teenages who not for the first time would be trying to kill them, the two sides shot each other glares so powerful that they had the capability of eviscerating their opponents.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?" Marcos snapped, as the King Cobra trying to impose his authority over the people standing opposite him.
"Well, you brought your reinforcements. It's only fair that we bring some of our own." Silver remarked. Marcos completely ignored him, staring daggers at his teammates (well, former teammates by now probably) and taking a half step towards them.
"Turn around. Go home. Now." Marcos demanded, quietly but firmly, in a tone that told every single of their opponents that Marcos - the boy who none of them had managed to properly beat in a spar once the entire year - would not hesitate to bang their heads against the pavement until they were nothing but a limp sack of meat and bones. Shockingly though, the other Cobras did not move an inch.
"Look, if he's trying to force you guys to do this, you don't have to do it. We'll find another way. Just turn around and walk away from him. Please." Robby tried a more pacific approach, but that was just as ineffective as Marcos' more violent and threatening strategy.
"They're not going anywhere." Silver chuckled. "And not because I forced them to be here either. I've offered each and every one of them 5 million dollars to help me, with an additional 10 million bonus for each one of you that they manage to kill. And on top of that, whatever legal fees inevitably come from this to help them all get found innocent will all fall on me too. That's all it took to convince them to turn on you and help me. Funny thing, money is… it really does redefine loyalties, doesn't it? And another thing about money… you can't take it with you, so you might as well spend it while you can now, on the things most important to you."
It didn't take a genius to understand what Silver was implying. This was his final act. This was his grand finale. So much of his life, his mind had been consumed by the thoughts of destroying Miyagi-Do. Well now, at the very end, he had a chance to do just that, so he was throwing every ounce of resources he had into achieving his goal.
"This is your last chance. Turn around and walk away before we snap you all in half." Tory growled at them, none too fond of any of her old teammates, resorting to Marcos' more menacing tone when addressing them than Robby's more calming one. The Cobras opted not to though, the chance at earning enough money for the next few decades proving enough to entice them to stay.
Though still so much was unknown, this imminent battle was set, Silver turning on his heel and walking away, leaving the battle to commence behind him. It was the Miyagi-Dos and Marcos vs. the Cobra Kais and 4 henchmen. The hostages were nowhere to be found, so they knew full well that this was far from the last fight they were going to fight. But at the same time, none of them could underestimate this battle. 4 grown henchmen… if these guys could fight, this could be a serious problem for the Miyagi-Dos. None of them had beaten a trained adult in a fight even once, let alone 4 of them! But they were ready though. It was time to fight…
