A very short story from the perspective of Lulu
Lulu hummed a merry tune to herself as she hopped across the river of the Summoner's Rift. She poked the scuttle crab that hurried past her and greeted the dragonflies that buzzed over the water. The Fae Sorceress headed for the bush near the bottom lane, her feet splashing on the clear water as she tossed a Ward into the tall grass that grew next to the walls of the flooded canyon. A glint caught her eye, something shining on the soil beside the warded bush.
Lulu knelt down and retrieved the lump of metal from the wet earth. Jhin's pistol was heavier than it looked, heavier than Pix and her staff combined even. The gun was unnaturally cold and felt strange in her tiny hands. Lulu turned it around and stared into the barrel to see if there was anything inside it.
Nothing. Nothing, but blackness and a little bit of dirt, not even a bug or a sprite had crawled inside the dark opening. The Fae Sorceress scratched her chin in thought while she pondered what to do with the heavy metal, whether she should gift it to a squirrel or plant it next to the river to see if it would grow into a grey glinting tree.
Suddenly and without so much as a warning ping a feral scream tore through the air and Rengar emerged from another unwarded bush nearby. The Pridestalker raised his knife to slay her. Lulu raised the strange artifact with a gasp, intending to throw it at the big, mean kitty's face. Her fingers were caught on the hole near the middle of the unfamiliar object just as she leveled it with the huge feline's face. Something attached to the metal thing moved, giving way behind the Yordle's frantic grip.
A loud *bang* deafened her and made the Fae Sorceress close her eyes. Lulu held the barking metal close to her body as it snarled and jolted in her arms like a dog that was trying to shake off the hold of its owner and bite a stranger that it deemed suspicious or hostile.
"Calm down metal doggy!" Lulu yelled at it over the sound of the dog's barking, clenching the smoking gun to her chest. And after three more barks the thing actually calmed down.
The Fae Sorceress sighed in relief and cracked an eyelid open to see if Rengar was angry at her for being unable to control her new companion, but only a handful of dancing particles remained where he once stood.
"Huh? That's weird. Did you scare the mean cat away?" Lulu asked the warm pistol in her arms, but it was probably tired after all of that barking and the smoking lump of metal didn't respond to her or nod, or even looked at her disappointed like Pix did sometimes.
"Oh, well." The purple Yordle smiled dreamily, absentmindedly tossing the gun in the river before skipping back to her lane and her waiting marksman. If Rengar wasn't coming she would just have to play with Caitlyn, Ashe and Lux.
