Chapter Four: There's a storm brewing! Oh no! Wait, you mean it washes off with Water?!

"Sir Greywords." A brood male's voice barked from the other side of the entry. Zelgadis stood and paced to the door.

"What is it?" He asked as he glances over his shoulder to us with his hand up. Proserpina readies herself to dash to the next available place to hide at, but froze as she waited. "Do you have a moment sir?" Zelgadis then held up his index finger and respond. "Yes, but give me a few minutes to get situated." He then moved in a fluid motion toward Proserpina and ushered her behind one of the curtains that hung over the portholes, and hurried back to the door. 'Play Natural' He mouth to us as he passed. With a click, it swings opened and standing though the entry way was a rather tall, stocky guard sporting a Salliune armor and crest. Behind him was a mousey faced man, the first mate who I saw earlier this morning, and a few more men whom I'm taking a guess are crew mates working the deck. The men gathered around the guard, who stood proudly, never breaking eye contact since the door was open.

"Sir," The guard growled. "We have received several witness reports from the staff-"He digs in his armor and snatches out a crumpled parchment, handing it over to Zel. "-Of an incident that occur earlier today."

Zelgadis rumbled the scroll open and read what was briefed on the paper. I tried to prop up a bit to get a glance without bring attention to myself. I couldn't really see sadly, but the guard spoke which perked my ears hearing this; "Sir there are reports of the staff mentioning in many similar cases of you chasing what looked like to be another you." I had a feeling more than one person did see what happened earlier, I mean it wasn't really hard to not notice two chimeras who look the same chasing each other in close quarters.

"Ah that!" Zelgadis snapped his fingers together, causing the first mate to twitch. "I took care of that earlier." The guard raised an eyebrow and the first mate stared with his mouth agape; it was there for a moment they both exchanged looks and the first mate nodded.

"Is that so?" The guard questioned and Zelgadis stretch his out his arm.

"Yes." Zelgadis said blankly. "I already took care of it, like I said."

"What was it?" I barely heard the first mate as he muttered over the guard's broad shoulder.

"It was an illusion spell." Zelgadis crossed his arms. "Someone was trying to snoop around and obtain information from what I got."

The guard peered pass Zelgadis and glance over the room, eye scanning every nook and cranny. I could feel my heart beat hard behind my rib cage as he looked over at the place where Proserpina hid. "Where's the culprit now?"

"I let them go. They weren't a threat."

"Sir!" The guard looked taken aback after hearing this. "You let them go?"

"Yes." Zelgadis nods and the guard scoffs.

"Sir." The guard seem to have a somewhat scold on his face. "I understand you position as both representative and deputy king, but it doesn't grant you the power to make the call to decide who isn't a threat and who is." The guard crossed him arms and frowned. "Next time, please do as you should and report the felon for the crime. It still broke the no magic policy so therefore it is a crime against the Prince." Zelgadis quietly nodded again as the guard stepped to the side. "That is all Sir Greywords. Have a good night." The guard the crew mates began their way away from the door, which Zelgadis proceeded to close.

"Wait, Sir." The quiet mousy first mate grabbed the door stopping it. His voice was soft and squeaky, like he sounded like he still was a teenager. "There is also a warning from the Crow's nest mate. The storm has gain more in strength and is growly rapidly. There is a possibility that we may have to turn this ship."

"That is fine." Zelgadis causally said as the first mate licked his lips. "If there is an emergency the bells will be rang. Please respond to the upper deck once they are sounded. Judging by these winds, we are going to need every bit of muscle to steer that massive sail." The first mate seems like he was in a hurry. "Now excuse me I have to go warn the other passengers." He took off with a sprint, calling for the other group as he too, and vanished thought the butler's door. With a sigh, Zelgadis was finally able to close the door.

"I think it's safe to come out now." He said as he locked the door. Proserpina emerged from the curtains, giving the room a quick scan before strutting back to her chair.

"I'll be so glad to get off this boat." She whispered as she crossed her arms. "And be somewhere where I'm not a prime suspect of whatever."

"Well," Zelgadis took a few strides closer to her. "What did you do then to get a warrant?'

Proserpina shrugged. "Beats me. I just know I've been chased around ever since I got here."

"I may have a theory of why." Zel placed his fist under his chin, his gaze steady on Proserpina. "If that was you that created that Column of Light then I'd say you may have stir up something pretty serious," He began to rub the stone that was on his chin. "Now there is no telling who may have issued that warrant. That could have been anyone, maybe it be human or Monster."

"It is atlas City after all. "I added myself in from being so quiet for too long. "Anyone can issue a warrant. Like Copy Rezo for an example."

"Now," Zelgadis grasps his hands together. "Why are you here?"

Again, Proserpina went on with the same story about her special armor and the legendary three Beasts; Zizan, Behemoth, and the Leviathan, which Zel seemed like he was jolting down notes for some type.

"You mentioned about Armor?" Zelgadis made a gesture that was suggestion the lack of the typical armor that I also expected when she first mentioned it. Proserpina nodded her head and a smirk formed on her lips. "Care to show me what armor this is?"

"Yeah!" Gourry exclaim as he pop up and squatted near Proserpina, Zel moved in a bit closer himself and I lean a bit forward to get another look at it. Proserpina lower her turtle neck, the shiny, luster like metal snagged the light as it gleamed from under its resting spot. Zelgadis closed in a bit more, pushing Proserpina's chin up more exposing its design more; it looked to be somewhat twisted yet graceful serpent curling itself around her neck. It didn't look like it had a spot where it could be removed.

"What does it do?" His fingers traced along the certain of the stone, then to the collar, pulling it a bit down.

"Zel!' Gourry shouted as he slaps Zelgadis hand away from Proserpina's shirt. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I was just curious of what the rest of-"

"No Zel!" Gourry voice went louder. "You're not supposed to look down in a girl's shirt."

"I wasn't going to look down in her shirt, Gourry!" Zelgadiss growled as a pink tinged glowed in his cheeks. "I just wanted to see how big the armor was."

"Sure." Gourry sighed as he crossed his arms. "I'm not buying that one."

"Really Gourry?!" Zelgadis balled his fist up, looking both flustered and angry. "Do you really think I was trying to look down her shirt?!"

"Yeah!" Gourry seemed to be just as angry, even if he token that way out of proportion. I think the time where he was accused of looking up Filia's dress, when he actually saw her tail, might've had some back-story to his reaction at sell trying to look at Proserpina's armor. It really didn't look like Zelgadis was looking down in her shirt, but I got a feeling a part of him did that to get a glimpse at what wasn't painted. That's probably that, but Gourry took it to another level. It was just harmless curiosity, not act of perverseness, and that isn't really Zel at all.

"Hey! Gourry!" Proserpina voice broke the tension as Gourry gazed at her. "I don't think he was doing anything wrong. So it's okay buddy." Gourry looked down to hide his pout.

"It just looked like he was trying to get a peek to me, that's all." Zelgadis glared at Gourry as he stood defensively crossing his arms.

"Gourry, do you really perceive me in such way?" He fumed as his stare pierced Gourry , who put his head down once more.

"I'm sorry Zel…" He apologizes in an earnest voice. Zel stood there and shut is eyes for a moment, before he sighed and made his way back to his desk. "It's fine Gourry." He prodded as he waved his hand to dismiss the matter. "You were just acting out of what you thought was chivalry." Zelgadis sat down as he grumbled to himself, sorting though a book and shuffling though it's pages. I leap off the bed and mosey on to where he was, peering at the page that was about the Zanaffer armor.

"It can't be that." I heard him mutter to himself. I agree with him. I seen it many times to know that whatever Proserpina has is not that at all. It's really something out of this world.

"So," He postured himself in his chair as he glances to Proserpina. "Is that all of the armor?"

She nodded. "When it's inactive it forms into what others may think is jewelry."

"You say it's inactive?" I looked at Zelgadis first the Proserpina, who again nodded.

"How does it activate?" Zelgadis beat me to asking that one.

"It activates whenever I feel like I'm in danger."

"So does it transform into a bigger piece?" I think I was getting the hang of its concept, maybe it turns into a full piece, covering the body with a super lustrous armor?

"Yes, in a way it does. It grows over my skin, well at to my hips." I think she was blushing, even under the make showed up parts of pink.

"I suppose you don't feel like you're in danger!" Gourry exclaimed with his arms high. "It hasn't changed since we ran into you. Do you feel that protected around us?"

Proserpina just glanced at him and snorted. "Yeah Goury," She huffed. "I definitely feel protected, I haven't really encounter into anything I consider a threat yet." I stared at the floor. It actually feels great when someone for once, doesn't consider you as a dangerous person. She isn't aware of what I can do, at least not yet. If she was to saw one of my infamous dragon Slaves performed, she may have some reconsiderations. Then again, she may know something which is just as strong, or even stronger. Proserpina was right about us not really encountering anything that is really serious, not yet. Let's not jinxed that, okay? So far, other than Zelgadis little freak out, I think I can manage with this so far.

"What does it do when you do feel endangered?" Zelgadis had fired off another question, but shortly after that, there was a huge rolling sensation, like the boat was being suddenly jerked to one side. It caused me to lose my balance, and I fell to the floor as another wave rocked from the other side. I heard the rustle of papers as Zelgadis hurried to collect his notes and books. It seemed that the storm was indeed getting stronger, because shortly after those couple of tumbles, the bells on each floor chimed in a union for everyone to take action.

"That means it's time to go." I gave myself a quick check to make sure I had everything accounted for. "Is everyone ready?"

"What about Proserpina?" Zelgadis gesture in her direction. She had stood from her chair and was looking at Gourry, Zelgadis and I.

"Do you think I'll be of some use?" She asked, and personally I think so. Heck she is strong enough to hold off Zel on her own. "I'd say let's just throw a cloak on her and call it a day."

"Lina, are you sure that is a good idea?" leave it to Gourry to question my logic. "Because the last one you had, almost got Proserpina in trouble, you know."

Dammit Gourry! I glanced at Zelgadis, who looked back with his eyebrows narrowed. "I don't think we are left with much of an option." I suppose that means he's going to roll along with the second plan, beside with Proserpina's strength, we can easily turn this boat around; the issues is, what if she get caught again, by the staff and guards. I'm going with that there is more than one of course, Prince Phil isn't dumb enough to just send a single guard, and this is his ship after all. Proserpina draped her cloak over her shoulders and pulled the hood over her head, and with that we set out to the upper decks.

"Hey Lina," Proserpina stride up next to me. "Do you still have the radio?" I gasped. I had completely forgotten about it, I panicked as my hand rushed to my ear. It was still there, I left out a long sigh of relief.

"Yeah it's a light weight design." Proserpina mentioned as she put hers back into her ear. "Vincent improve its design from its original, it's so light and breathable you barely notice it. One time, our best friend Jason, forgotten about it and feel asleep with one in his ear." Proserpina then giggled. "His dad was trying to look for it, but then he realized Jason had it, then way he woke him up was hilarious."Okay I have to know; "How did he wake him up?" I asked

Proserpina laughed more. "He went in Jason's room and started to raise Cain; he screamed, he farted, and then he used an air horn, which scared the hell out of Jason from his sleep." That was actually funny to imaged, though I have no clue what an air horn is, but I image it was loud enough to wake some guy up from a deep sleep. After we collected ourselves from our laugh, I look Proserpina. "What do you have in mind with these this time?"

"I figure we may have to split up, "She stated and I followed along with her plan. "Into pairs; I can take Gourry and you can go off to the other end with Zelgadis." The guys seemed to overhear us and agreed, so when we got to the doors, Zelgadis and I were the first ones to exit; outside was chaos, the wind rushed and blew and the ship rock as the waves began to grow more. The clouds where blacken, and flashes of lighten pulsed from above. The feeling of it was to rain any minute lingered heavy in the air. The crew, sailors, staff and the guards alike, rushed around in frenzy as they gathered themselves to the hoists of the sails. Zelgadis and I gathered ourselves to one side of the hoist, while I observed both Gourry and Proserpina take their places on the opposing side. Everyone else grab a rope, some of them having two or more and braced themselves for the command to pull. The wind howled and rushed, pushed with a force against the hoist to where I almost felt like it was going to lift me up. I sank to me knees, more so for my own sake then the sails. A gale gust once more, with a flashed of lightening, and then the thunder cracked. I heard the whistle blow, and drop my weigh as I muster the strength the body could make (Despite on my petite build, I am rather strong for a girl.) I could hear Zelgadis and the rest of the folks grunt as the pulled with all their might against the storm's forces.

I heard the whistle blow a second time, and that is when it started to rain. I felt pricks of ice and mist hit my skin as I bowed my head a second time, battling against the wind. The rain gathered more, and soon it started to pour, heavy enough to where some of the men were losing their grip on the ropes. Two of them snapped in the air as several men slipped to the docks. The fought the waves as they rose to their feet, searching for the rope to grasp.

"One more time, men!" I heard the captain's voice bellow though the gust of wind. "We almost have her turn around!" The blew once more, and we all, with our might, pulled for what I hope was the final time, because I don't think my muscles are able to keep up with this for long. I felt an uncomfortable burning in my legs as I put all my effort into this tug of war game with this storm. I heard a cry of joy as the sail was being pushed away, and the men began to let their ropes ago. The rain slowed as the gained our distance from that area, and I heard a beep in my ear.

"Yeah." I called as I pressed my ear. "Dollie we got a huge problem." I heard a strong sense of panic in her tone. "What is it Snowy? What do mean problem." There was a brief pause. "I don't think the makeup was water resistant Dollie."

"It wasn't…water resistant." I stood a moment in horror as I realize that it meant that the disguise, the blue paint and rubber décor washed off in the storm. I regain my sense and hurried to the direction where Gourry and Proserpina were at, Gourry Stood in front of her, his head turning as he kept watch as she used his height to hide.

"Lina!" I heard her whisper loudly as she beckon to stand with her. She still had the cloak on, even though it was stained in blue and soaking wet. There were blue streaks running down her face as she stood there shaking probably from both her nerves and being cold from the rain.

"We have to do something." She hissed. I placed my finger to my chin pondering of a new plan.

"I could always jump overbroad." She suggests, and both Gourry and I look at her like she was insane.

"No way!" Gourry shouted. "You will drown in these waters."

She raised her eyebrow. "Gourry it's not the first time I swam in these waters," She pointed to the pillar, which was now being consumed by the darkness within that storm. "How did you think I got from there in the first place. "

"There you are!' I heard Zelgadis voice from behind him, and I spun to greet his apprehensive look in his eyes as he tried to peer over us.

"So where's Proserpina?" He pushed pass me and froze in his place when he saw her.

"Hi Zel." She said in a shaky tone. Zelgadis stood in silence and she turn to look at us.

"Lina, did he break on us?" She waved her hand in front of his face; He shook his head and regains his senses.

"My apologies." He muttered. "I didn't mean to stare; I just wasn't expecting you to look like that." He gesture at her lack of the makeup, while now reveals more of her appeared, minus the hair, which the wig survived the down pour. She was somewhat still disguise, but she probably stood out if we all weren't standing in front of her. I made the suggestion that we move out while everyone is still recuperating from the storm. We managed to stay grouped together for the most part, until we gotten close to a large group of guards who were escorting passengers back to their designated areas. My heart jumped as one of them who stood idle noticed us. He was a younger guy, maybe my age, and cute as a button. He reminded me of Gourry when I first met him. He trotted his way over with his long legs, panting as he regains his breath from his jog.

"Are we all okay here?" He said in betweens breaths. Oh yeah, I'm definitely okay. Now that you're here, let's see if I can distract you while the guys catch on and sneak Proserpina away. I have to think quickly, so I went with the damsel in distress option, and pretended to be hurt.

"Owie!' I cried wolf as I grab my arm. "I think I pulled a muscle tugging the sails." I tried to make tears in my arms, by thinking of the sad things I've seen during my adventures, the things I've never really gotten to cry about. I manage to get a few good ones going, sniffling as I cradling my arm, trying to look as pitiful as possible.

"Lina..." I heard Zelgadis jeered lowly. "What the hell are you doing?" I looked at him and wink. "Just play along and get her out of here-"

"Ma'am!" Sir handsome yelled as turn my head and howled loudly in his face. Bailing wilding I managed to draw the attention of just about everyone as the both Gourry and Zelgadiss sneak off with Proserpina. I hope this pays off, because once they realize I'm faking it all, let's just say that I'm just about as done as Proserpina is if she is caught.

"Ugh," I whined. "If I can only cast a healing spell, I could make it all better." A few more crocodile tears poured from my face as a couple of guards gaze at me with upmost concern. A couple of them spoke in a low tone that couldn't catch over my howling. One of them attention turn to me and with his low voice, he manage to gain my attention.

"Are you a sorceress, ma'am?" Nah. I'm dress like this for of the hell of it. "Yes." I manage to fake hiss out of pain to the guard who ask the stupid question. The mantle should have been you dead giveaway, dummy. That was more of an insult of him asking that, which to me would hurt a lot more then the injury I pretend to have now.

"Well," The guard went on. "I'll let you side with a healing spell since we have a very limited supply in our hospital wing." Yeah no problem, right on it; light from the energy that formed in my hand glowed as I cast a Lighting spell to fool the guards. I peered from beneath their feet as the light somewhat blinded them from what I was doing, and I watched as the three of them nearly made it to the door, before a bigger guard, the same one that visited Zel's room from before, burst though catching all three of them right in their tracks. The guard looked at them for a moment with a harden expression, before he recognize Zelgadis.

"Sir Greywords." He addressed him in a formal matter. "I see that you are here, with you other friend from earlier." He glances at Gourry then at Proserpina. "Who may this be? I don't recall ever seeing her?"

I have a bad feeling about this, now that the light is gone, I bounced to my feet. "I feel much better now!" I exclaim as I jumped on the balls of my boots. "Thank you for letting me heal myself." I dismissed myself in a hurry to make it as quickly as my legs could carry me to the group. I could hear some of what Zelgadis was trying to explain the guard of why Proserpina is here.

"-she's a friend of mines that is visiting." I finally caught up to Gourry side, the guard didn't even notice me, and he was to focus on Proserpina's presence.

"Is that so?" This guard didn't seem to buy Zel's story, and advance to Proserpina. "I've never seen her before now on this boat." The guard wasn't easily fooled, and unfortunately for us, and mostly Proserpina, I don't think this will work out in our odds.

"Could you lower your hood so I can get a better look at you?" I knew we were doomed the moment that came out of the guards' mouth. Proserpina stood there still, refusing the guard's request; he then scoffed at her deliquesces.

"Fine then." He huffed, wiggling his clad fingers. "I suppose if you won't cooperate, then I'll just have to lower it myself." He went to go reach for her head, but with a blink, she had evaded his advances and with the same with the second attempt to grab her.

"Refusing a guard's request is certainly criminal behavior." The guard taunted as he leap forward once more, which she gracefully moved out of the way. "And usually criminals are punished badly in Saillune."

It seemed like the guard had almost narrowed in on Proserpina, but a suddenly impact to the ship, which caused it to jerk, cause the man to froze and tumble in mid swing.

"what the-" the guard cried as a another thump hit the boat, a group of men rushed from the left side of the bow to were the guard stood, and from where they had left, and huge tentacle wiggled itself on to the wooden surface of the dock. A couple more followed pursuit, some there were at least more the six wrapping themselves around the bow of the ship.

"It's a Kraken!' Bellow the same guard who stood to his feet." Sound the alarm!" He somehow manage to yank off Proserpina's hood, his eyes widen as he stared at her features.

"Say," There was a cruel smirk that curled on his lips. "You're that woman from the wanted poster, aren't you?" There was a strong hint of greed that glint in his dark eyes. "They say you were worth fifty million gold pieces… Now if you just come with me quietly, I'll make this easier for the both of us-"

"Um, excuse me?" I had to butt into this, there was no way he was just going to use his status as a royal guard and walk away with Proserpina. "We found her first." I nodded at Zelgadis and Gourry, who now stood at either side between the guard, Proserpina, and me. "So she's coming with us."

There was tugging sensation as the boat began to lead onto one side; more tentacles creep their way up the side and the creature was dragging itself out of the water. Its malicious scarlet eye had a murderous intent in it. Some areas of the wood snapped as it tighten its hold on the ships' railing. The monster pulled the ship even more on its side, causing some of the guards and crew mates to lose their footing. A few of them rolled like logs to the side when the kraken awaited, one poor soul manages to tip over, catching himself on the railing before falling to what would be his death below. I budge in my place, and from the corner of my eye, it looks as if Gourry and Zelgadis were getting ready themselves as well.

"Prince Phil and his rules…" I heard Zel mutter as he prepared a spell. "Well they do say that rules are meant to be broken. I hope he understand in this case"

"In this situation, I'd say yeah." I agreed as I followed pursuit by casting a fire ball at a nearby tentacle, a direct hit, and it withered back down into the waters below. The air cracked with electricity as Zel casted the Digu Volt, and the remaining tentacles lost their fight and slid down as well. Proserpina mange to escape the guard pursuit, and was behind both Zelgadis and I. I could overheard her saying something that sounded like a spell

He who moves as swift as the wind, grant me the grace to out race those who stand before me.

Divine Messenger; lend me you power! I evoke your ability of speed and flight.

Two slivers of light manifested in her hands, and shortly they turned into what looked like feathers; Proserpina then places then on the sides of her boots where her ankles would be. The feathers attached themselves, and she kneels down like she was preparing herself for a race. She took off in what started out as a normal jog, but then with a gust of wind, she vanished. Next thing I know, she was airborne, soaring above us and the sails. I watched as her lips moved and energy built up from her finger tips. She was aiming at the creatures' head as it pulled itself to the surface, a couple of tentacle shot out the water. They were headed directly to Proserpina.

"CHAOIC BLAST!" I heard her screamed as pure, golden energy burst forth, destroying the tentacles and slamming right into the creature head. An eerie scream like hiss erupted from the waves below and the creature sank back. Proserpina landed in the crow's nest above, balancing herself on the railing, bracing on the post next to the bell. The lookout guy up there freaked out and made the attempt to grab her, but she kicks him and he lays unconscious over the railing. That there was a very entertaining display of stratagem and I just knew she had it in her. I felt all shaky with excitement as I realize that the second spell she performs might've been a bit of that magic her mother taught her, and know I want dibs on being the first to have that type of knowledge. It seems like it packs a punch, like a fire ball, but with more juice to it. I could really make used out of something like that, not to mention teach a very valuable lesson to those who oppose me.

"PROSERPINA!" I held my hands over my mouth as I sang song loudly at her. She looks down at me, and I wave to beckon her down with us. She leaps from her place, and lands without a sound in front of me. The little wings on her boots wiggled as she steps into place. I applaud loudly, which she just smiles and acts a bit bashful about her spell casting.

"Bravo!" I cheered as I slowed my clapping. "That was amazing. You have to teach me both when we have a free moment. "

"I suppose." She sounded unsure about it for some reason. "We can talk about it when things aren't crazy, like they are now." She pointed behind her, a group of guards, lead by the one hell bent on catching her, were racing at full speed toward her. "It looks like we are about to have some company." Proserpina turns to face them all. "AFTER HER!" The guard leading the other roared as all of them drawn their swords, Gourry unsheathe his sword and stood in position in front of Proserpina.

"There is no way," He said as he readies his sword in front of him. "That I'm going to stand and watch these guys take just you on." He gazes at both Zelgadis and I for support, which we both nodded in unison. Zelgadis took out his sword and I prepare another Fire ball. Proserpina seems touché, but she holds up her hand.

"Guys. I do appreciate you all defending me," She smiles even more. "But this is my battle. Besides you don't need get drag into this." She points towards toward the guard who were gaining up more and more. "Especially you." She motion at Zelgadis. "You have ties with this kingdom, correct?"

"Yes, but," He waved his sword. "I'm sure not going to watch someone who has a warrant for no reason is chased like sport." That's rather noble of him, but rebellious at the same time. These were still Price's Phil men, and Zelgadis attacking them would be consider as treason, even though he was defending a innocent. Which technically, Proserpina did nothing wrong, but other than show up in an extremely noticeable fashion. Sadly, people who aren't as smart as I, a sorceress genius that is, wouldn't be about to comprehend the advance nature of Proserpina, thus hunting her. Just like Zelgadis put it, chasing her like sport. Speaking of which, the group of guard caught up to and circled around her like hounds. Each one was letting out a bloodthirsty growl or a cold laugh, as the unfettered after her. She moved so fast I couldn't keep up with her movements, but each man was lunch backwards, flailing down in all directions. Their weapons sliding across the boot as Proserpina took off in full speed to the Prow. She halts at the end, hoisting herself over the railings.

"Wait!" I yelled as we raced to her. She glances over her shoulder as she prepares herself to dive.

"Thanks guys!" I heard her say before she leaps forwards. As I reached the railings, I heard a splash below, the sea water bubbled in foam from where she plummet at. I scramble around looking for her to at least resurface. "Hey!" Gourry pointed to the lavender wig that floated on the side where he was. It bobbed in the water like a jellyfish, kinda like what Gourry does with life. Proserpina was nowhere to be seen. "Dammit." I hung my head low, just great; I lost my only chance of becoming even more powerful. I was so stuck on Proserpina's escape that I didn't notice the guard from earlier progressing towards us.

"You let that bitch get away!" He was really enraged. No, actually I was trying to stop her, but not for you. "You will pay for this!" Zelgadis stepped forward in front of the pissed off guard. "I suggest you move, Sir Greywords," His voice lace with a menacing tone "I'll have you and that title removed both at the same time!'

"Is that a threat?" Zelgadis causally stood in front of the guard with his sword set in defense. "I don't take lightly to threats, and I personally felt like that was one." Gourry and I were going to back him up on this on. Beside I was really taking on a disliking the guy all together and I really don't care that he is one of the Saillune guards. It's nothing Personal Phil, but this guy is a real jerk. "I'll have you all executed for treason…" His grin sent chills up my spine, and I begin to cast an Elmekia lance to put this guy in his place.

"Yoo hoo!" A voice from below called and we all stopped from our attacks, there was a splash, and all of us (including the jerk of a guard) followed the source of sound.

"I think your ship is gonna sink." It sounded like Proserpina; I lend over the support and try to get a good look of her. There was another splash, and her head popped out of the water. "You have a massive hole near your ship's stern." She disappeared quickly beneath the water, and I couldn't see anymore of her after that. So it appears that the kraken before might've had a snack while we were all attacking it, their beaks are powerful even to snap though wood and can break apart bones like small twigs. Krakens seem to be smarter then what people except then to be, and it made me feel like it intend was to take the hip down even if it was defeated. That's probably how most krakens would take down a ship other then braking it and dragging everything down

"Shit." I lifted myself back over the railing. "She claims it's going to sink." Then it hit me, the boat was starting to lead a bit at an angle. A bell rang ahead and a trio of men rushed about to where the captain remained. Some of the passengers gathered around the mainmast of the ship. Most of them here just stuck up looking noble gents that probably live in the higher class of Saillune; a handful of them where displaying their great displeasure of their curse around the column was being ended because of a stupid storm. I guess they didn't see the kraken part, probably hid within the main deck like the prissy little cowards they are. I made myself though the crowd of them gossiping among each other, until I reach the doors of the quarter deck. I enter though like a mouse, tip toeing my way though until I heard the voices of men speak in a conversation. We stopped before the door way of the Captain's quarters; I placed my ear close to the door.

Writer's rant: See I told you I was going to have chapter four posted! And I did it in no time. I'm not bragging, but I do feel proud of myself and this to me is a act of self love, even if it doesn't get views or read, I still do feel accomplished with myself. Victories can be on small scales, but even those tend to stack over time, and the rewards are amazing. What am I talking about now? Oh small step of achieving, the seeds that get planted do take their time to grow, and over time you reap what you sow.

Though a part of me hopes that this story is appreciated by some, and I deep down hope it also helps me connect with people more. I may not be a people pleaser, but I definitely enjoy it where you are free to express yourself and laugh at silly things.

Fee l free to leave a review, positive or negative is always appreciated! Now to go edited Chapter five.
