Disclaimer: I don't own slayers, but I do enjoy writing this fan fiction. For reals!
And its Sunday, and yet another chapter was pooped out. Ugh I'm trying to get the characters to feel each other out and the dialogue eventually bores me after a while (even if it's part of the story, character back ground is important, and piecing together Proserpina's is quite the necessary in order for her character to function) but at least I'll be able to cram as many battle scenes as I can in the following chapters. Maybe another lemon, who knows, we will have to see what she (as in me, myself and I) pumps out in the following chapters. I love writing the fight scene, usually that the first thing I think out when it comes to wrting.
Whooo! Please enjoy amigos!

Chapter Nine: Another filler? Are we done yet? Can we start the mission after this?!
It was early before dawn when Zelgadis opened his eyes, though he only slept for what felt like a few hours, he was already energetic and quietly hop out of his bed. He grabs his boots that were sat neatly next to the bed, rapidly fasten the laces and straighten the trim of his trousers over them. He straightens up, and heeds to a desk, where a thick book stuffed with parchments full of notes sat next to a quill, a bottle of ink and dish, and rough sketch of a woman. His cape was neatly folded which sat in the chair along with his travels bag. His sword propped against the backing of the seat. He begins to gather the items off the desk, and carefully places them into the bag. He examines the art, making sure the ink was dry to the touch before he delicately folded it in half and placed it between the multitudes of pages. He fastens a belt tightly across the book, and stuffs it into the bag. He closes the flap and fastens it shut. With a swift motion, he unfolds his cape and swings it over his shoulders. He applies his broadsword next, then his tote. After a quick scan of the room, he sets out. Tip toeing past the bedrooms as he swiftly sets out to the kitchen area. The door swing open as he enters the cozy space, only to be shocked at the presence of Proserpina, who sat in silence as she fumbled around with a assortment of items in a fairly size box. A soft gold emitted from a lantern nearby, along with hints of gold and rose that glowed from the window nearby. Her long hair was fasten in a high pony tail, and she worn a loosely fit midriff black shirt, along with a pair of dark leggings. She was seated with one leg propped up while the other bounced on the ball of her foot. She flinches slightly at first when she notices him, but gives a small smile as she greets him.
"Oh Hey. Morning. You're up early." She sat a hand size, rectangle device next to the box.
"It seems like I'm not the only early bird here." Zelgadis commented as he took a seat adjacent from her. He peer a bit in her box, eyeing the paperwork that look like photos and clippings of articles of some sort. "What's with all of this?" Pulling his seat a bit closer so he could obtain a better view, he looked more closer to what she was doing.
"Oh this. It's just some old stuff." She rummage though it again, sorting though varies of things that were strange to Zelgadis's eyes. One that caught his attention was what appeared to be a somewhat aged photo. It was a square shape, with the image of three young people, all who appear in their teens. He scouted the photo and grabbed it for a closer view. In the photo, there were two men; one who looked fair in complexion, and had golden hair with bright emerald eyes. The other was a man of a darker skin tone, with his hair dreaded with golden tips. His dark eyes contrast with his bright smile, and in the middle of them, was a girl. She was copper tone, with golden amber eyes, and long shiny black hair…
"Hey Proserpina," Zelgaids mutter as his eyes shifted between the photo and her. "What is this?"
She looks up. "That's an old picture." She grabbed the corner of it and glances at it. "That was us when we were younger, and the day before everything went down." There was a date in the date that was written in what Zel proceeds to be a curvy written language that she was trying to show him, but he was more interested in the images of the photo. "So you're in this image." She nods and he points to the female present, and she nods again. "That's you."
"I was human at one point, and there the proof. So was my brother," She pointed to the blond, "And our best friend Jason. " She pointed to the other next to her. Zelgadis stared in a astonishing matter, before he torn his gaze from the photo to her.
"I used to be human." He said quietly, there was a hint of regret in his tone that somehow, Proserpina manage to catch on to. Her eyes flicker a bit as she observes this shift in his expression. "I believe it. I can tell." That is the best she felt she could say to him, which caused him to move a bit in his chair as he moved his head to one angle, his eyes not moving from hers. "I'm pretty sure you are aware of that back-story?" She shook her head. "I'm sure at some point, maybe when you were a young adult is when you transform, but that is just off of basic observations." She stated as she placed back a bundle of papers into the carton. "Anything other then what Lina told me about how you look is all I know about you."
"Is that why you're not taken aback by my appearance?" Proserpina laughed quietly. "The way you look doesn't bother me. In fact, there are plenty of folks that resemble you back home. Does mine bother you?" He gave a small smile."Not at all, but do you recall the remark that Lina made last night?"
"She says a lot. You have to specify which."
"That one pertaining to tradition, about 'How my great grandfather changed me into a chimera-'"
"Oh that!" She placed her index finger over her mouth. "That was kinda rude of her to say that though."
"It's true though." A flash of grief flashed in his eyes, he took in a deep exhale. "At first, I thought it was because I wished to be stronger, but later on, I found out he did it out of his own selfish reasoning."
"And what was that?" Zelgadis tilted his head back with his eyes shut. "As absurd as this may sound to you, but he was on this desperation to open his eyes, for he was blind."
"What?!" He nodded at her and she stared at him. A look of confusion spread on her features and it dawned on Zelgadis that she had no idea who his great grandfather really was. After a second of briefing her about who Rezo the Red Priest was, he then explain to her how their Lord, Flare Dragon Ceifeed had separated the dark lord, Shabrinigdo, into seven pieces, and sealing them throughout the planes. As time progressed, fragments were born within humanity, and one of them being that mentioned priest, who was also his great grandfather.
"Wild." She comment as Zel stared at her. "And that demon lord was sealed in his eyes the entire time?"
"Yes, but when he opened then, the essence of the dark lord took over him, and he transformed in the dark lord."
"So your Great grand daddy ended up possessed? And this is that same guy, responsible for your transformation?"
"In a way, yes Though I was changed before his eyes were forced opened.. I used to work for him, and I turn my back on him when I understood his true intentions, which was to awaken the dark lord that was sealed in his sight, just so he can open his eyes." He was surprised of how fast she was grasping on to subject. "After he changed, the three of us eventually faced him."
"The three of you, you mean Lina, Gourry and you faced what used to be your great grand daddy, who was a priest, who turns out to be a vessel for the demon lord of your world, years ago?" He smirked as he nodded again. "You guys are some badass people, you know." She grasps his shoulder giving him a playful shake.
"We almost die." He bluntly stated without a pause. "Until Lina pulled one of her tricks out of her sleeve, and defeated him."
"Still, that's some intense stuff." She pulled out a smaller rectangle carton, slipping out a press of some sort. "Aha! I found it."
"What is that?" The new item that she sat out before him gleamed in the lightening as the sun started to gain altitude in the sky, Zelgadis lean in closer to it to as Proserpina placed a bag next to it. The air around it burst with the fresh scent of coffee. "That's a coffee press." She tapped on it. "Now all I need is hot water and I can make some!" She looked at the hot stove that sat idle; its door creaked loudly as she opened it. There was what seemed to be crumbling charred pieces of left over wood that had some use left in it. Proserpina piled them up, and made the attempt to ignite one with a small match
"Here, let me assist." Zelgadis threw a ball of fire at the stove, and with a strong burst it lights up, a kettle with water in it began to warm as the fire crackle beneath. "Thanks. That was some smart thinking." He smirks as she shook his head. "Yet you're a magic user as well, correct?" He folded his arms as he attentively watched her grinned as she wiped her hand clean from the soot. "Yes in some way I am, but what I know could blow this place up. The magic I was taught is not as elementary as that." Soon the kettle tooted as the contents in it grew hot, steam shot out as she reached in cupboards above for two fairly sized ceramic mugs. With that in hand along with the piping kettle, she hurries to the table, and places the mugs down. She pulls the knob upward on the coffee press and pours the hot water over the grounds. It sits for a minute, until she slowly pushed down on the knob. The water turns a dark, murky brown as a screen drives the grounds to the bottom. After locking its device in place, Proserpina pours and even amount into both cups. "I won't argue with that." She places one in front of him. "I've seen you perform at least a couple during the Kraken attack." He places his palm on his as Proserpina shoves a container of sugar and dry creamer in front of them. "It was a rather impressive display. Usually Krakens take a team effort to be brought down in rare cases, but it took you a matter of moments before that creature sank back into the depths." Proserpina shrugged, her face having a modest appeal as she poured sugar into her cup.
"Pssh." She waved her hand in a dismal manner. "Both Lina and you did you part. I can't take all the credit." He was next to grab the sugar. "I'm still impressed by the fact that your world has arcane knowledge like mines, except with its major differences. The last time we had encounter someone from the over world, he was here to retrieve an item that was crafted by their own dark lord. It's unknown if his world even know of the arcane, but he still was able to create energy to attack with. Not to mention the level of aptitude of craftsmanship in the five weapons that he claimed that where created by dark Star-"
"Wait." Proserpina Held up a finger her forehead furrows as she is a deep thought. "You said Dark star; you're talking about that creepy looking huge alien guy, called Armace?" Zelgadis eyes widen. "Yes. That's him. He needed the weapons to stop Dark Star Dugradigdo from destroying their world, and to stop him from entering ours." Proserpina halted from stirring her coffee. "It's like Déjà vu hearing that from you, because he came to my world to get the Labrys, or what he refers as Bodigar. He even stated how he needed it to not save his world, but the others instead. Dark Star or Skoteino Astro according to ruins of what the ancients named him. He would go on about how that particular demon wanted to gather the other three and consume them, then destroying each world."
"So Bodigar was originally hidden in your world, I bet Armace visits you before he went to us. How did he interact with you?"
Proserpina somewhat grimace to this. "He was weird as hell, kept calling Perseus and me the "Children of Nightmares" the whole time he is trying to obtain that damn axe. Jason's family had inherited it somehow throughout its history and His dad wasn't ready to give it up. The guy wasn't the friendliest, but at least he didn't go around a harm innocent people. He just came at us because he needed the axe, but he learned the hard way because we kept kicking his ass each time. It got to the point where he was begging us to just give him it." Zelgadis took a sip of his coffee to taste it. "That does sound oddly familiar of the approach he had with us. Rather Hostile towards Gourry, being that he had tenure to the Sword of Light, or the Gorun Nova. He eventually convinces us, and what he stated was true. We all teamed up, save for the dragon monster hybrid that decided to summon Dugradigdo, which we used the weapons, which he created, against him."
Proserpina took a length gulp from her cup. "Oh! I'm jealous. After the axe was finally handed over, he leaves, but when he leaves, the portal is left open, and then Skoteino, or Dark Star- whatever he is called, begins to enter our realm. Fortunately my brother was able to quickly close it, but it left a fraction of that Lord's essence behind. Which we did fight it, but it escape before it was destroyed."
"What do you think happen to that essence?" She drank from her mug more before responding. "Who knows? It's possible to could of died off, being too weak to recuperate away from its original source, or it may have been absorbed by Azazelus, or any of his legions. That took place a bit ago, maybe like six or seven years. There is no telling. We never saw much after that."
Zelgadis peered at her from the rim of his mug. "And you're not worry about it being a threat?" She shakes her head. "It was just a couple of his legs, nothing serious." He fought the urge to spit out his coffee. "I suppose that is good to know." There was a bit of mirth laced in his tone. "It's known to be best to view life in an optimistic view."
"Right, but doesn't it feel weird when you're a bit pessimistic?" He looked at he with his eyebrow arched. "It's not like I can turn those thoughts off, there is always that 'What if it doesn't go right?' voice that screams from the back of my head."
"I think we all have that." The rays of sunlight beamed though the window, casting a bright light that danced on the floor next to Proserpina. "Even Amelia and she is a huge optimist."
Proserpina stared at the sun as she sipped the rest of her coffee. "Oh yeah. I get the vibe from her. She's the type of go all out with it too." Zelgadis groan deeply, because that statement was something he couldn't disagree with. He went to grab the press, the both jump as someone else barges thought the doors.
"Good Morning you two!" Amelia chimed as she nodded to the two that sat at the table. She sets off in a hurried pace and takes a seat next to Zelgadis. "How was your night, Ms. Proserpina?" She glances at Amelia as she set back in her chair. "It was nice, other than hearing some random noise which woke me up, other than that I got my rest."
"So you heard that too?" Zelgadis poured him more coffee.
"Yeah it was random as well. It sounded like a moan." Zelgadis's face turn a bit pink a he stared into his coffee, he quietly sighed to himself. "It sounded like it came out of Lina's room." Proserpina giggled as Amelia struggled in a confusion of some sort. "That's odd." She rubbed her chin. "I didn't hear anything last night."
"That's because you were probably already asleep." Zelgadis said to her as she shifted a bit in thought. "I doubted it was Ms. Lina. She usually snores." Proserpina laughed a bit more as Amelia eyes her nervously. "Why are you laughing Ms. Proserpina? Maybe it was a ghost." This made the older woman snicker even more as she peers at the younger one. "Darling," She breathes. "I don't think a ghost would sound like that." She snorts as Zelgadis slammed his coffee down, covering his mouth, hiding his expressing from Amelia as she gazes at him for support. "Amelia," He tried his best to hide his chortled expression. "If you heard it, you wouldn't think it was a ghost of any kind." The younger girl glances downwards as she hides the embarrassment in eyes, searching for something to change the subject. They caught the strange picture from earlier; Amelia studies the photo of the three people before snatching it up for a closer look. Her bright eyes widen as she makes the connection with the photo.
"Ms. Proserpina. Is this yours?" She nodded. "Is that you in the middle?" A 'Yes' was answered to the princess's question, which caused Amelia to gasp loudly.
"Wow. You were very beautiful! So you were like Mr. Zelgadis, a human at one point?"
"Funny." Zelgadis muttered. "We just discussed about that."
"Mr. Zelgadis did mention that you were a chimera as well." Amelia swallowed hard after that. "I was expecting a person to look similar to him, or someone with the DNA of a beast, but when I saw you, I thought he was mistaken, you look more human at a distance. Which is why I mistaken you for Gracia." She held her hands together while she manages a smile. "When I got up closer to you, I saw the horns and the color of your eyes. He told you that you're part dragon, but I can see how people may think that you're a monster…" Proserpina didn't seemed to be phased by that, despite on Zelgadis, who glower a bit in his seat when he heard the word 'Monster'. Amelia double take on the photo, then at the other woman. "Now that I seen what you looked like, I know you're a person, like the rest of us."
"That's very kind of you." Proserpina full heartily smiled at the princess. "I just hope the rest of this world thinks like you, and stay out of my way." She checks the amount of coffee that was remaining in the press; pouring it into the mug, which fills it half way. "Sadly the lot of you all seems to think of me as the "Next Biggest Catch."
"I feel that Altas City didn't give you the greatest of impressions when you first arrived?" Proserpina gawked at Zelgadis for a moment before she added her said. "That and these dirty ass looking thugs who work for a boss bitch sure didn't help as well." Amelia flinched at her choice of wording to associate the demon lady that the bandit they tortured and killed described, so instead of chastising on Proserpina foul choice of labeling for the monstrous, yet mysterious woman, she went with empathizing with her. "It must be rough, Ms. Proserpina. Everyone is so unreceptive about your visitation."
"Who says I was visiting?" The cup she was holding was slammed on the table. "My world is dying, so we are going to need to find a place to eventually colonize."
"You're trying to save your people!" The princess exclaimed as she glared at Zelgadis. "You didn't tell me of this!"
"Yes I did." His brows narrowed."You were too busy on your little rant about "The fairness for all life" to even listen." Amelia cast her eyes down. "Yeah I was." She sheepishly admitted. "But it is true, all life deserve life."
"I can dig that." Proserpina concurs. "Though there are many people who feel an odd disregard about it, it's sad but true as well."
"I hope I can be a great influence and put a stop to it on day." The princess heaved a great sigh as she expressed one of her greatest dreams. "And be remembered as a Divine warrior of justice!"
"Go for it!" Proserpina's tone was rather that of amusement mixed with encouragement. "Please don't get her started." Zelgadis murmured as he sat there pokerfaced, his eyes shifted nervously to Amelia as she climbed up the chair. "Great. It's too late!"
I woke up with a start as I heard what sounded like a woman shouting in the distance, only to recognize the speech pattern of Amelia on one of her famous preaching about Justice. I sat up from my spot in the bed, a chill hit me as the covers dropped. I heard more shuffling as I saw that Gourry was already up and atom.
"Good Morning Lina!" He placed down a towel he was using to clean his face as he trotted back from the wash stand. He kneels in front of me, I blinked as my eyes focus, and saw that he even had his armor on already.
"How long have you been awake?" I groaned as I rubbed to clear my vision quicker. I jumped to my feet, which patted on the cool, wooden floors as I stride to a nearby window. I swung the shutter open, only to be greeted by the blinding sunrise as it peered over the coastal line. At least there was daylight before Amelia was set off for whatever reason. "I was up over a half of an hour ago. I heard Amelia talk to someone a bit ago, so I'm guessing Zel is up as well." Yeah she is really loud right now, made me wonder if Pokota could hear it from where ever he was. I might as well start my day since I am up and moving, so I got myself dresses (which Gourry insisted that he sit in as a audience), put my mantle on and grab my travelers' sack and we both made our way to where all the commotion was. I listened as we tottered our way though the corridor and down the grand stair case. We follow the noise until we reached the kitchen. I could hear Amelia projecting her voice to the fullest, along with the combination of Zelgadis groaning, and someone snickering. When I burst opened the door, whatever balance Amelia manage to master herself off of, failed miserably as she came crashing face down. Zelgadis, who back was turned from the door, peeped over his shoulder, taken noticed of both Gourry and I. "Good morning Guys." Gourry greets the rest and Proserpina, who supported a high ponytail (It looked so cute on her) waved back. Zel's face goes somewhat red and he quickly turns back around, avoiding eye contact with us as we made our way to some seats that were available. I reached and opened the shutter more, letting more of the daylight in, which brightens the room.
"Good Morning Ms Lina." Amelia moaned from the floor as she lifted her face up. "Good morning Mr. Gourry."
"It smells good in here." Gourry stated as he search for the source of smells. I took a sniff of the air myself, and it did have a tingle of fresh roast coffee. "Do we have anymore?" I asked as I glance around and saw the kettle on the table. Proserpina lifted the kettle up and shook it. "There is enough water for me to make more." She dumps out what looked like used grounds out of a strange cylinder device. I watched as she adds new ones, fill it up with water, and pushes down, resulting in a fresh batch of coffee. She grabs a couple more mugs from the cabinets nearby, and places them in front of Gourry and I. Then she fills each cup with the divine smelling drink. Yum! We drank our coffee, discussing the events for today as we waited on Pokota to join us.
"I suppose after Amelia get situated, we can start our path to the mountains." Zelgadis suggested which a good push on getting this ball rolling was required. We do need to get on with our mission to assist Proserpina in collecting those beasts, and the first one we agree on, was Zizan, who supposed was located within the Karaat Mountains. He fetched out his map and compass, placing it down on the table as he used a quill to trace out a path. Amelia's designation was just of outskirts of Salliune, which all we would need to do is head north from there, which would take up straight into the mountains. My main concern was how can we tread softly around a great evil that is sealed within East of the mountains. From what I could tell by where Zelgadis had previously marked it from the last time, was at least in the dead center of the mountains. How we were possibly going to get there is beyond me, but I guess we will find out.
Pokota came in rather in a sneaky fashion, I noticed him as he crept up behind Amelia, grabbing her from behind the chair she sat in. She screams, which cause Zel to jump violently. It was actually hilarious to see his face go from concern, to disconcert as he saw the two of the wrestle around again. With a sign, his face lacked emotion. "Well then." I perform probably one of the best drum rows I could mastered onto the table, which did what it suppose to do, get everyone's attention. Pokota froze with Amelia tucked in his arm, her head peered from beneath his bicep. Zelgadis, who was still avoiding eye contact me for whatever reason, gazed somewhere on the table near me and Gourry as he lean back. Proserpina was rolling probably a joint, and was shifting her gaze from that to me then back to that. Once I felt like everyone was one me, I began; "Okay. So here's what I have to suggest for today. We all escort Amelia back to the camp where her dad is at, after that we can split up and decide who is going with who. I Know Gourry and I-"I turned to wink at him, in whom he winks back! "-had agreed to assist Proserpina and her search for her mythical beasts." Sounds so risky and farfetched, I know right, but if there was a couple of Over world's weapon's that where based on the powers of Dark Star, then the possibility of beast awaiting for a master to claim them is one as well. I consider the odds, yet I'm somehow willingly gotten myself into this. I looked around at the other three, which where Zelgadis, Pokota, and Amelia.
"I agreed with daddy that I would help him." Amelia stated in an innocently honorable tone. "But after that, I should be free to assist you as well, Ms. Proserpina."
"I wished I could say I could help," Pokota loosen his hold on Amelia, in which she wiggled free. "Yet I have my kingdom that needs my attention to, but if you little plan works, you can count me in!" He reaches his hand out to shake Proserpina's, in which she reaches back. The deal was seal. I turned to Zelgadis, who took in a deep breath before he said his say. "I feel compel to do so." Come on dude! No one is twisting your arm! "More so it's simply because I still need to know answers and Proserpina may have them." Go figure. He always had some kind of motive behind any reason of accompanying the likes of us. This time, it's because we have another chimera that's similar in a way, and I bet it has to do with something that you believe is a cure. I couldn't help myself as I peered at him and giggle. He wasn't paying mind either when I stuck my tongue out at him. Only because, I know something that he doesn't, and I still want to be around to see his reaction when he does find out. Teehee!
The courtyard outside the castle had a wonderful view of the pier near the shoreline. I could see a series of boats that bobbed with the waves. The seagulls flock nearby as a fisher man reels in a boat, the nests full of fish that wiggle as they fought with whatever life that currently had. They flipped about when the nest we released. The seagulls bombarded as the fisher man and a young man chases them away by running towards them. The sound of wagon wheels caught my ears as I turn to the direction of the gate, ahead was a couple of brown and white horses, who pulled a decent size carriage behind them. The driver whoa at the horses, and with a crack of their whip, they came to a complete halt in front of us. The driver slides from his seat; He is a tall man, dressed in an elegant attire of a suit in a pretty shade of lavender. He removed his matching top hat, and takes a bow at us.
"Jeremy is my name; I am your rider for this day." Quite the presentation my man! Amelia did a small curtsy before she hopped on, sliding all the way over to a laced decorated window. I jumped in next, taking a seat across from her. He excitably grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze, following me was Gourry then Proserpina. Pokota shoved Zelgadis out of the way and planted his butt next to Amelia, last was Zelgadis, who with a frown hoisted himself on board. The rider shuts the door, and a carriage sets off shortly on the trail to where the camp was. The ride wasn't as bumpy, and we got to see some of the sights of the kingdom of Taforshia, which was rather a beautiful in the sightseeing we did . It was definitely a coastal city; many of its building had a seashore theme of some sort, even a sculpture, who was making the horrible attempt at craving a mermaid out of white marble.
"What a waste or material." I overheard Zelgadis hissed. I know, with his artistic genius, he would have already put that slab of marble in good use. This guy had no idea where to start, and to him, it's most likely embarrassing.
"They have competitions if you're interested. " Pokota must've heard him as well, he nudged Zelgadis in his ribs, which had no effect other then the blue chimera shooting the larger man a dirty look. Though Zel did do a double take back at the area where the marble was. I think he would be into something like that. I snug next to Amelia as we both watched out of the window, pointing out to the little shops that we would love to go to. One had a dazzling deep blue dress on display. The style and color would have been something that probably even Proserpina could pull off. I glance at her, which she was staring out in the window, just to herself, not paying a single mind to anyone around her. I poked at Gourry, who snaps his attention from Zel and Pokota, and was now looking at me.
"Can you get Proserpina for me?" He turns and taps on her shoulder, which brings her out of her daze. I waved my hand until I got her attention, and pointed to the dress to see what she thought.
"That is really pretty." But would you were something like that. No? What do you mean you 'don't do dresses?' All girls love dresses, what's wrong with you?
"It's hard to fight in one." Okay I'll give her that one, she rather reserve her modestly instead of flashing someone in case she has to kick ass, as she put it. She admits their lovely and she always enjoys looking at them, but wearing them, was always a challenge, according to her.
"Well you do have to be taught how to wear one." States the princess as she rubbed the back of her neck. "Daddy made sure I had aliquant training so I was aware of the mannerism." Let me guess, similar to how Proserpina case was with learning her mother's spell work, yet instead you were taught how to sit lady like and how to hold tea cups. That's really cute of you Amelia, I may love you like a sister, but make some pointless points at times. Proserpina gave an indifferent glance before resuming to whatever she was watching original out of her side of the window. Well so much for keeping her interest, I watched as she fumbled around with one of her ebony locks, with a longing expression that form on her face. I know that look that is what someone who is homesick looks like. Sadly how you can miss something that on the verge of being utterly obliterate from existence, but from what I can gather from her, she misses her friends, probably more than ever.
The wagon arrived at the camp mid day, which Prince Phil himself, stood ever so proudly waiting for his youngest return. He stood there, with his black messy short hair blowing in the wind, along with his cape. His troll like feature born a unbearable smile that made me cringe more then I was delighted to see him. I awkwardly waved along with Amelia as the wagon lapped around. The door opened, and the first out were the last in, as Proserpina and Zelgadis stepped out, followed by Pokota and Gourry. Amelia helped me out as my feet landed on the clay trail. I peered past the Prince to get a look at how the camp was set up; small shacks were built as men pounded armor way in front of a smelt. There were several tents, décor in that of the color and royal crest of Salliune, which the large on I'm guessing was the Prince Personal one. Amelia made a mad dash to her father, leaping midair as her dad catches her; swing her around a few times as she howls in laughter. Seeing her and her father really causes me to miss my own dad, and damn I was so close to seeing them! Prince Phil waved us over, which he gave me an unnatural squeeze that caused my back to pop. He affectingly grasped Zelgadis's and Gourry's shoulders, and he gave Pokota what look like a bro hug. His attention then turn to Proserpina, who stood there, completely clueless of what is going on.
" Lina!" His voice, even more loudly than his daughters combine, boomed heavily in the air. "So who is you friend?"
"Oh daddy! That's Ms. Proserpina." Amelia said before I had the chance to. Um he said Lina, not you. "She's on a quest in helping her people. She is also a chimera, look!" She pointed to Proserpina horn, and shimmer flashes as the sunlight beamed on her skin for a moment.
"Hey. Ms. Proserpina." Amelia licks her finger, bringing it closer to the older woman's face. "I think you have some glitter, hold still-"Amelia attempts to rub off what she soon discovers to be Proserpina's scales. "Oh never mind. I didn't notice they were a part of you. I'm sorry." Prince Phil, whom lean closer to Proserpina, which made her react uncomfortably as she shook due to anxiety. "I see what you mean Amelia." He twirls the hair of his mustache as his eyes squint at the chimera woman. "She does look a bit like a monster-"
"Prince Phil-" Zelgadis tried to interrupted him, but the prince held up his hand in his direction. "-not just any monster, but a rather gorgeous one at that!" Was that Prince Phil's attempt at flirting, because if it was, he just failed horribly! Proserpina may had mumbled a 'Thanks" but because he came off so strong, she wasn't haven't it. I watched as she slowly inched away from both the princess and Prince.
"Daddy, I thought she was Gracia at first." She giggled as her father beamed at her. "I can see that, but she also somewhat resembles a bit of your mother as well." What the hell? Does Phil need glasses now? I don't see any kind of way how Proserpina would favor his late wife. I think that just made everyone else around feel awkward as many of us looked around, pretending that we did not hear such a thing.
"Well we are here.' Pokota was the first to break the silence as he strides his way to both Prince Phil and Amelia. "I think this is Lina and the rest have to take their leave." Geez, already trying to dump us so quickly, huh? He crossed his arms as he faced the prince and princess. "Ah Lina Inverse!" Prince Phil roared as he tussled my hair, which I try to comb out to fix right afterwards. "I'd offer you food, but we are waiting on out supply wagon to get back. So I currently don't have much to offer." A basket of water canteens where handed over, and each one of the four of us took one, and thank the both. Amelia, Pokota and Prince Phil waved as we set off to the North.
