Rated M for violence, gore, and language. Some chapters are note suitable for everyone, and I'm cool with that. There is also Adult themes and sexual situations later on, right now I'm too focus on "bonding" time before I start the naughty stuff. It's not going to be all out like it's on AO3, which I may start adding more to the account I have on there.

I'll edited as I reread at work. I saw a few things and revised it

03/15: there was a part in the begining that I was not agreeing with, so I went and alter it. This is why writers need editors *hint dropped*

For an example: there was a bit where I put smelt instead of smelled. smelt is associated with blacksmithing, but in British English as past tense for smell. Ill change it to prevent the confusion for those who don't know

Enjoy amigos!

Chapter Sixteen: Here we go; Right into the lady's turf! Say, have we met before? A familiar face within the shadows!

Shit, you know what that means Lina! There as a flash of red and an odd pulling sensation. I realize then I think he might've just used me to transport him here, and I was correct. As my head pounded and my vision refocused; I saw a set of fangs glint in the darkness that crept up closer and closer to me! I could hear the rattling in my breath as I stared into those evil, red glaring eyes…

I screamed as loud as I can, which did what I wanted it to do, wake both of them up. Baby let out a cry in displeasure as I let out another blood curling scream.

"Miss Lina!' Amelia huffed in an annoyed stated as she removed her sleeping mask. "What is the meaning of this?-"

"Oh shit! We have company!' Proserpina darted up rapidly as she charged after the creature. The man hissed and charged after her, claws outstretch as both her fist and his collided with each other. His other free hand went for her neck; His knuckles turned white as he squeezed as hard as he could.

"Ms. Proserpina!-"Amelia gasped as the older woman fought with her might against the unnatural undead man's strength. The vampire gave a deadly, bone chilling smile as he gaze at her with his red irises glowing with a devilish glint. "Oh." His voice just as eerie as his appearance was. "I think I might've lucked out on this night scouting…" He brought Proserpina close and gave the biggest whiff he could pull as his nose dug deep in the sleeve of her robe. "Your scent is interesting as well as your appearance. Say aren't you that one woman who is wanted for One Hundred Million Gold pieces? Montreal would rave over this-" He was cut short but the fierce princess swift attack as she charge full throttle at the vampire's face with a fist that glowed with pure fury.

"Visfarank!" Amelia shouted as her fist smacked right into the vampire's face. He releases Proserpina immediately as the enraged princess performs a combo of punches, which causes the monster to fall back as he hissed from the darkness. He stood still for a moment's pass, before the soft pattered of his feet is heard as he charged unseen to both Amelia and Proserpina. There was then a rapid knock on the door that opened to the side where the men were at, so being the one who was standing the closest to it; I took a leap as fast as I could and yanked at the knob.

"What's going on in here?" Barked Prince Phil as a disheveled Gourry, Pokota, and Zelgadis marched at his side. The look of disgruntled gaze borne on each one's face; I'm guessing the commotion woke them up. Speaking of racket; the vampire that was making full speed at both of the women got stopped as Proserpina stuck out her arm, which the monster took hold, heaving his head back as he made the attempted to bite down.

Crack! Next was followed by a howl of pain as the vampire slumped to the floor, clutching his face. "My fangs!" He cried, and sure enough, they were all broken into chips. Ouch! Hey! That's what you get for trying to take a bite out of someone who has skin hard as diamonds.

"I bet that don't feel too great, buddy?" I felt like Proserpina was teasing the unfortunate undead guy as he snob silently as scarlet tears streaked down his cheeks.

"No it doesn't." He hiccupped. Seriously… one of the most feared creature of the night sitting here, howling like an upset child whose favorite toy got broken. "I just got them the other day." Wow! I'm sorry for your bad luck, and you were just turned. Go figure, no wonder you went full on to Proserpina like she was normal. You think a vampire would already catch on the difference the moment they smelled her, but not this noob. This guy did know about the warrant on her, but he failed to receive the memo of her special case of Chimerism. I guess no one really took the care to inform the new guy?

Gourry, Pokota, and Zelgadis had disable the vampire and dragged into the next room with them. Whatever fight the creature had in it vanished as it stared at the ceiling above. He had lost his will to fight, and now was silent the whole duration as the men questioned him.

"Again," Prince Phil slapped the table next to him hard as everyone in the room flinched to the sound of it. "Who sent you? Was it your master? Is it lady Karnstein? "Even with the prince's repetitive asking, the vampire remains quiet, not even a vowel slip when Pokota made the attempt to burn him. A muffled scream was emitted into the mid night's air as the men tired their earnest to get the undead guy to squeal.

"We could wait till sunrise." Zelgadis suggested as he peered out of the shutters, noting of the sun's giving off a pink glow in the horizon. "And we don't have long at that. I could say that we can stick a part of him outside once dawn is at its peak." The vampire glances at the blue chimera with a twitch in his eye. It seem like the very idea of being expose to sunlight might've stricken close to home as the creature began to tremble. More colors filled up the sky as the sun's light danced about in the clouds above. We opened all the shutters, waiting as for the light to creep in.

"It seems like you don't have much time to procrastinate." There was a misplaced coldness In Zel's tone as he circled around the vampire, opening more of the blinds, twisting the cords to readjust the beam of light that was being cast off the metallic material. Some of it briefly races across the vampire's vestige, which cause the man to shriek as parts of his flesh burned though his dark robes.

"Please…" He whimpers as Zel continue to twirl that rod that controls the shutter he was at. A dark smirk flashed on his face as he faced the damned man.

"Are you now up to talking?" He coldly asked as the man groaned. "If so, then feel free to answer any of the questions that were asked to you since we encountered." More light flashed in the direction of the vampire as more of his skin was exposed and scorched as smoke trailed off of him.

"Montreal sired me." He finally broke, but if I recall correctly, Montreal was the guard who chased and harassed (Mostly) Proserpina and us, yet later on, Prince Phil mentions that he disappears on the night prior to the attack, hence the hunch that the guy basically gotten himself turned since Phil wasn't taking the man serious. I think most of that had to do with Zel being the first to speak with Amelia's father, while the guard wasn't present when we first encountered the encampment. Something is off, and it gives me the impression that maybe Montreal was involved somehow in first place, in order for him to be able to catch and report Proserpina. I guess the man felt like being a vampire was going to give him the upper hand of retrieving the girl? Or maybe they did some convincing and offer him a deal he couldn't resist? "After I was changed, I was sent here with the rumors that the Prince of Saillune, along with his loud mouth daughter-"

"Hey!" Amelia shouted as she waved her fist. "I resent that!"

"And the other prince who had Lina Inverse with them, who been last reported seen with the wanted woman. We caught drift the prince was dabbling in our lady's affairs, and decided to try to put a halt to him by infatuating their camp. All was going well and we almost had both the crowned prince and his daughter corner, but he-"He bobbed his dark head at Pokota. "-Shows up with his fancy magic and ruins our plans of keeping Saillune out of our business-"

"-But what you have done isn't right for the people here." Amelia yelled over the vampire in a shaky voice. "Saillune is involved to the sake of justice and bring back what is right to the villagers. The duchess had inspired a long fear into the hearts of these hard working men and women. Not to mention the strange disappearance of both of the towns nearby. Not a single soul-"

"-What we do in the shadows is none of you puny humans concern!' The vampire snarled though his chipped fangs. "We vampires don't have the time or perception for your silly black and white concepts of justice for humans-"

"That is why Lady Karnstien must be stopped! This has gone too far!"

"There is nothing you can do to stop us! We will grow and explain in numbers, then we will tear though you and you pitiful Justice like the meat you are-!"

"NEVER!" Amelia screamed "You will not come though me and those-"She then pointed at all of us present "-With me who also stand for Justice."

"More like a survival at this point…" I heard as Proserpina whisper under her breath. It's rather a suicidal idea if you ask me. Vampires weren't something I've specialized in, being that you really don't run into them as frequent as you would think. Gourry clears his throat as Pokota resumed the questioning.

"Alright you blood sucking snaggletooth punk-!" The larger prince bellowed as he grabbed the vampire by his collar dragging his close to the window where Zelgadis stood. He violently pressed the man against the build, pushing Zel out of the way as grasp the rod that control the shutter. "You start talking now and I may spare the idea of Barbequing you right now!" He wasn't joking; he slowly adjusts the rod to where the sun light was close to the vampire's face.

"No wait." He pleaded, as Pokota stopped near enough to bring the man into a sweat. "I'll talk… Just no more sun... It's really hurts! They weren't lying about it either!" The other prince shuts the shutters and tilts the vampire's head towards him. "Fine… Let's see how well you keep your word with that." He tapped his finger on the knob again. "Or I'll open this and blast your ugly face full of sunlight!" Everyone stared blankly at Pokota, while Amelia gave a quiet, yet nervous laugh.

"So do you know the whereabouts of Sir Montreal?" The vampire blinked his crimson eyes as he grinned at Amelia's face

"He resides along with the rest of the nobles in the lady's castle." He hissed as he sniffed at the air about him. "Hmm. You smell just as nice as the redhead. Though the strange one with horns smells better-"There was a loud whack as her fist hit his lower jaw. "Know your place and respect my boundaries." Amelia snapped as she folded her arms, glaring daggers as the vampire pouted with a trembling, bloody lip. "You should consider that for other women as well. Even with Ms. Proserpina," She waved a finger in the dude's face. "Running up and sniffing on women is not consensual."

"Hey. That's kink shaming!" Amelia gazed at Proserpina with eyes wide of disbelief of what she heard her just say."Whaa…" The princess trailed off as she worked up a nervous sweat. I hope she wasn't serious about that… Judging from her silent laughter she was certainly joking around. The princess scoffed as she turned her head back to the vampire, ignoring the other woman's snickers. "Then again, I don't think I would be alright with some random dude came up gave me a biff whiff…"

"I don't run up and smell people."The vampire hissed. "Idiots! I can smell a human mile away; I don't need to be close to catch your scent! It's how we hunt, not get aroused!" Well duh, vampires are well known for their super human features; stuff like sight, strength, hearing, and probably smell since they are apex hunters.

"What's a kink?" Proserpina busted out this time in a loud giggle after the obvious blonds' stupid question. Everyone, including the guy in question, groan in unison as we slump our shoulders.

"Gourry!" Zel said though gritted teeth. "We are not talking about that right now." He smacks his lips in retaliation at the blue chimera's retort. Zelgadis shifted his focus back to the vampire.

"So? Do you think you can show us the way to your lady's abode?" The vampire cracked a twisted smile as he hackled away. "You all must be mad." He darted his gaze about, looking at each one of us. "But I'll gladly you show you to your demise. Not many make it back alive anyways to tell the tale."

"Bring out the sliver hand cuffs." Phil braked as his loyal guards retrieve a purple linen, darkly stain wooden box that contain a pair of not just silver handcuffs, but one that was blessed and décor in seals that are meant to hold down a damned person. With the help of the guards along with the two chimera holding the vampire down, they successfully apply the handcuffs, adjusting the width of the bar as they moved the man along with them, taking him somewhere away from the daylight until nightfall, were we all agreed to set out. Trying to sleep at night here was a bad move, I should have known better, but my exhausted self got the best of me. I figure I'd take this opportunity to get a few Zs, being that I still don't felt like I got enough sleep at that. I nestled back down after what felt like a really long night.

I woke up a bit past noon; Amelia snores softy as I wiggled back on my cloths and boots. Baby was bundled up in blankets, their thumb in its mouth, so cute! Proserpina was nowhere in the room, she must've stayed up or was awake before I was. I gave on last peep into the room, making sure things where secure before shutting it behind me. I could hear a chatter of voices that where coming from below, and I skipped my way down the stairs. Across from the hostess stand, was a decent size lobby like room, only that it had a set up of a grand table, including chairs and a dining set up? Seated at that table was nearly everyone, saved for the hostess herself, and Proserpina. The smell of breakfast food; Biscuits, Bacon and gravy hung in the air. I could feel myself being drifting by the scent as I floated to a seat next to Gourry and across from Zelgadis.

"Lina! You're awake!" Gourry was delayed on his greeting but gave me a rather lengthy hug before I was able to have my seat. "Good morning." I smirked as I nodded at Zel, grabbing a cup of coffee for myself.

"It's afternoon Lina." He corrected me. Whatever. I'm awake so its morning to me, no matter what time of the day is. I rolled my eyes as I greeted both Prince Phil and Pokota as they helped themselves to some egg based appetizers, scarfing away as they passed it to the next. Gourry helped himself to most of them, which I barked at him before he kept taking more.

"DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE PLENTY?" Zel flinched as he replaces his cup down, his eye darted at us as he gazes in the upmost annoyed manner.

"UH-UH LINA!" He yanked the plate back as I tried to tug it from him. "THESE THINGS ARE THAT GOOD AND I'M NOT LETTING YOU EAT THEM ALL-!"

"OKAY THAT"S ENOUGH YOU TWO!" Zel bellow as he slams both of his hands onto the table. It shook violently as the dishware chattered and clank. I swear from somewhere I heard a faintly cracking noise. Gourry losses his grip from the plate and I slowly took it as Zel angrily stares us down. "You two always act like there isn't enough food in the world to feed you both." He spat. "Every time there is food around, you two are always fighting. Enough! "

"But Zel," Gourry whined though a mouthful of frittatas. "She always eats everything up. I don't fight her, I don't get my share." Not true, there were a few times I at least willingly shared some rations with you, maybe twice. I don't keep count.

"Lina is a sorceress." The blue chimera carefully straightens the table cloth back up. "She requires more to substance her energy for spell casting." He lifted his cup, sipping from it. "While you're a swordsman, you don't cast spells."

"Yet you do magic but you don't eat like a pig." The blond retorted as he swallowed.

"Gourry, I'll eat what I need to sustain myself." Zelgadis crossed his arms defensibly. "And this is not about me; this is about the both of you constantly fighting over meals. You need to learn of how to control yourself Gourry-"

"What do you mean I need to control myself?" The blond asked crossly. "It's Lina that needs to-!"

"What's with this racket going on in here?" Proserpina stood there, wooden spoon in one hand, and the other placed on her hip. She bore a fearsome expression as she looked fiercely at all of us. Madam Maria stood behind her, her eyebrows raised as well as they waited for an explanation.

"It wasn't Phil and I." Pokota grumbled as him and the other prince awkwardly looks back at their food. "That was Zelgadis, Lina, and Gourry." He point at us. "Those two were fighting over food again and Zel went off." I felt my face twitch as I slowly turn my head towards at him, in which he exchanges a sheepish grin. Ooh Boy! You are lucky you're near Prince Phil, because if it weren't for him, I would have thrown something at you by now!

"Sorry if I disturbed the both of you in preparations." Zelgadis rubbed the back of his neck. "This is something that happens often," He added as his voice trailed off into an audio mumble. "And there are moments where it gets the best of me."

"I see." Was all she said as she shook her head and went back into the kitchen area. I could hear Madam Maria speak loudly about something as the two women continue with finishing a few more plates. Shortly after Zel's outburst, Amelia can waltzing in, giving her dad a huge hug, saying good morning (Afternoon, but Zel didn't bother correcting her like he did with me) to us as well. Before she was able to greet Zelgadis, Pokota manage to grab her.

"Hey." He jeered. "Where's mine?" She signed as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. The chimera in the seat away pertained that nothing was happening as he elegantly drinks from his mug. Amelia kept giving a tense glance at him as Pokota squeeze a bit more. I think a part of her was worried if Zel was getting jealous over Pokota, or it could be she doesn't want to show him affection thinking he would over react. If he was, I'd say Zelgadis is masking it well. He had a poker face the whole time as Amelia plopped into the chair in-between the two guys. Proserpina came bustling though the doors in a hurried fashion. "Breakfast is ready. Serve yourselves. "She mentioned as she passed all of us. "I'll be back. I'm going to get Baby up."

The kitchen was a cozy place, with the smells of all the foods prepared. What is life without a delicious meal? I'm beginning to feel a sense of gratitude for meeting Proserpina and her knowledge of how to cook such tasty meals! Speaking of which, the presentation made the food more practical to self serve; each dish was lined up, with a hefty sized spoon on each side. I helped myself to a heaving scoop load from each casserole dish and on to my plate. I wished there was really more that was made, you know I could eat way more then what I have now.

Proserpina return with Baby and seated herself on the opposing end from where Madam Maria sat. Everyone ate at a steadfast pace; as if this was going to be the last meal we will have…

I'm not worried about it; there will be more! I scarped up the remaining bits of morsels onto my toast, thinking to myself what will be the next tasty thing I will eat! There was a clanking of glasses, and everyone slowed their pace as we all focus on Prince Phil.

"My comrades," He began as he stood from his chair. "Who are my friends and family as the same! I just want to express my thanks in assisting me on this mission. For what we may face, will be no easy feat." Yeah you don't say. We are about to face the blood sucking undead and there is no telling of how many there is. "Though I believe we stand a chance! These Vampires don't know of the powerful allies I have!" He winked at me. Creepy…I don't ever want to see that again, so I did my best to conceal the reaction I had.

"Tonight; we leave at sunset. We grab that nasty vampire, and he can take us to her castle. Then from there I have a plan." So his idea was, we get to the castle and split up into teams. One being Amelia and him scout the area for any type of alterative entrance, while the rest of us go on a figure out the number of enemies we will face. Fun, it seems like the ones who aren't royalty get the messier work, save for Pokota. Though I have the impression he was going with us, he may change his mind and head off with the other two instead. I doubt he would be that brave to even show off to Proserpina if he even wanted to.

After gearing up (For hunting vampires, via the courtesy of Madam Maria, who still felt awful for the whole vampire attack last night) and fetching the vampire to lead us, we sat out as the towns folk began their odd routine like anyone else would during the day. Four of the guards accompanied the creature, who was chained from neck to ankle, rattled and clanked as he led us off into the woods. The last bits of the sun flashed though the leaves; hitting the vampire hissed and groans loudly as the last bit of light gazed across him.

"Serves you right you blood sucking bastard!" One of the guards yelled as they yanked off the vampire around, causing him to stumble over on his chained feet. He whimpers as they scooped him off, shoving him to continue on the trail that leads to the castle. Well I don't know if I would call it a castle, it appeared to be a manor of some sorts. It was pretty hard to make out the full details in the moon's light. Just then, there was a sudden rustle within the shrubs nearby. We froze in our tracks and our head spun in different directions. Amelia, Zelgadis and I casted lighting; which made it easy to sight the poor rabbit that took off in a spooked manner.

"It's a false alarm!" Zelgadis shouted as we resumed our pace. The three of us maintain our lights as we venture off into the darkness. Eventually we stumbled across what looked to be an ancient gate; I called it that due to the weathered appeared in its up hold. It barely stood on one side, as if it had been broken at some point, and left in neglect to both crumble and rust. We squeezed ourselves thought eh opening between the gate and one of the stone post, setting sights on a grand edifice of a Manor.

I can see why it was called a castle; that thing was huge; enough o fit everyone in town comfortably in it! Sad to say, it's not just house anyone, no. It's the home of the Lady Kernstien and her hemovore guests. At some point, as we drew near to the manor, the ghastly man begins to act erotically.

"What's wrong with him?" One of the guard inquired as the vampire went into a frenzy.

"I can smell him!" He gasped, holding his cuffed arms above his head. "I can smell him and the others." I don't like the sound of that. The man laughed manically as Amelia and Prince Phil tilted their heads at each other, taking off. That was their cure to start scouting, and like I call out on earlier, Pokota beeline right behind them, crying for them to wait for him. That left us; Gourry, Zelgadis, Proserpina, the handful of guards and myself behind.

"I guess we proceed…" I could feel my voice shake as I took the roll on being the one in charge. I tried to think of a approach where we don't get a lot of attention, then again, that may be all in vain. I think the only option is to find a way in, with the least of attention possible. I'm aware that I didn't have to tag along, but rather for the sport, the entertainment, and that I don't think Proserpina should do this by herself. This is a team effort, well minus those guards. I may have to ditch them so they too, don't become the possible collateral if any of the undead sense us. I was getting ready to drop the hint that they should stay behind, and let us take the vampire instead. As soon as I opened my mouth, there was an unnatural blood curling screaming that was too close for comfort. I glance at Proserpina, who was staring off intensely in the direct at the end of the manor. At first, I could barely make out what was going on, but then out of nowhere, four silhouettes of men were advancing towards us. They grew larger as they closed in their distance. I could hear the bonded vampire hiss with glee as his brethren encircled our group.

"Mmm." One purred in the dark. "It looks like we have some visitors."

"But the Lady never gets such," Remarked the other. "Usually they're people who have wondered too far into the wilderness."

"Yet these folk-" One swooped in and took a whiff at Proserpina. "-Don't smell like the ones from town."

"Dude..." She swatted as the vampire snuck away. The vampire jumped to the fourth side. "I think she is the outsider."

"She's the one with the warrant." I could hear the pearly chimera heaved a heavy sign, I'm pretty sure if we all had a gold coin for each person or every time we hear about the warrant, we would probably ended up with enough to pay four time the amount due. I'm mostly boasting; I don't have the time to sit and do the math. Not now for the accuracy! We currently have some trouble on our plate! I signal the guards to take off, which one was smart enough to drop his chain and take off back towards the village. The other three just stood in awe, dumbfounded of the dangers that now gaze at them like prey. I meant run not stay, dummies! Trembling down to their boots, they wiped out their swords, along with Gourry and Zelgadis. I could hear the clicking of Proserpina's Pistol, and I ready myself with energy by my enchanted talismans. This wasn't going to be as easy as bandits and this type of monsters make trolls look like child's play. Unless you hit them directly and destroyed their hearts, any other attack, save for decapitation, are unless up against them. We posed ourselves for any sudden attack. First one to bite it (No pun intent though) was one of the guards. His scream turned into a gurgle as one of the vampire seized his throat. His life drained from his within minutes. I could feel my limbs grow cold as I back myself closer to Gourry. Zel and Proserpina mirrored adjacent to us while the two remaining guards panicked and tried to flee. One of the monsters flung himself on his back, crashing the hopeless man down to the ground. He feasts one him while the later caught the other man, tearing into him like a wolf. I watched in horror as the bodies of these two men go limp as the beasts fed on them. I may be experience, I may be powerful, but these things are... terrifying! So now it's not just slug?

"Well…Well well…" I heard an ever so familiar voice. "Montreal!' Zelgadis called out as the forth man stepped into the light. It was the same guy we met on the boat, the only difference was; He lacks a tan, and his eyes were red and glowing! He also wasn't clearly wearing Saillune's armor anymore. Instead he was done in a black, scaly looking material, with red, gold and crimson wreath around a bat.

"Oh wow." I remarked, hiding the fear in my voice. "You look so different. Did you get a haircut?" Really Lina is that the best you can come up with?

"Thanks for noticing!' Montreal smiled, revealing a set of pointy fangs that gleamed in the lighting. "I'm so flattered! I always knew you were an observant one!" He applauds as he softly chuckle. "Too bad you compliment isn't going to buy you much time to stay alive…" The others grouped around him, spreading out as they encircled us like we were prey. The hunger glinted in their eyes, even after they had consumed their share from earlier. Blood that was smeared over the lower faces was beginning to cake as the creases of their mouth spread out into a menacing grin.

"Go on boys!" Montreal fumbled with a set of keys (Which he wore gloves, being that they were sliver) released the chained one. He too joined the group, and his eyes burned more as he stared the most at me.

I thought quickly of what would work well again vampires; Fire or Spirit. I muster up an Elmekia Lance; a bolt of light is jolted from my palms and blasted into one of the vampires. Sadly to say, it didn't cause as much damage I thought it would, but it did kill down the blood lust craze the man had in his eyes. So I casted a few more, mixed with some fire balls just for special effects. Meanwhile to my left, Zelgadis had swooped in with his enchanted blade, slicing though one of these bats's arms. The man emitted a blood curling howl as the second came charging at the blue chimera, which Proserpina intervene as she shot the gun directly in the vampire face. That weapon has a lot of power to it, as the smoke cleared; the vampire's face was only left as a gaping hole that glistens in the moonlight. I could see the tongue wiggled about as the man's body slumps to the ground. That may had done the trick because he didn't get up after that. She twirls around as she takes aim at another that was right behind her. I was so busy watching her fight, that I didn't notice the guy coming straight at me from my right. I still gathered myself for another spell even though the man felt seconds away from me. Until Gourry darted from behind the man, thrusting his borrowed slivered blade into the vampire's chest. The beast screams and his wound fizzed out a strange, faint vapor exits his wound. He clutches his chest as he drags backwards.

"Ugh." He grunted as Montreal approaches his fallen comrade. "That fucking hurt allot, boss!" The vampire falls to his knees as the larger man crept to his side.

"There now," Montreal said in a fatherly tone, causing the younger vampire to slowly lift his head a t him. "It will be over soon." In one swift motion, he plunges his hand deep though the hole cause by Gourry's special sword. He then flexes his arm, and tears out the other's beating heart. Montreal laughs manically as the other man withers to his death.

"Why…" The man's last word as a pool of his own blood formed around him.

"You were useless anyways." He commented as he stomped on the body and strides his way towards Proserpina. "You," He began as his eye glared with a fire. "You have been my biggest challenge ever since I encounter you on that ship. Then I was weak and slow, but now-"He charged forward as he tackled her with full force. Her body hit the ground with a thud and he braced himself above her. "Atlas! I have the strength of ten men, and I think I can take you on for once."

Using her knee, she hoists Montreal forward with her might. He was sent in a rough tumble across the manor's lawn, but quickly hopped to his feet. He then charged after her again, which at a super speed she dodges his second attempt.

"Let's Go! Full on!" Zelgadis yelled as Gourry and he darted at Montreal with both blades drawn. Both of them swung their swords from poles apart, Gourry came in at the vampire's front, while Zel swoop above at his back. Montreal let out a screech as blood burst from him at both sides. He lashed out first to Gourry, grabbing the blond by his shoulder and lifting his overhead. He then slams the warrior into the ground. I could hear the wind being knocked out of him as he crumpled over. Next he makes the attempt to slash out toward Zelgadis, which is useless, but tears a hole in the blue chimera's tunic.

"I forgot." Montreal growled as his eyes narrowed in at Zel's torso. "You're that freak with rocks for skin." His words seemed to have somewhat offended him, I saw bit's a Zel's teeth flashed in the natural lighting as he gathered energy to send at Montreal.

"Look at who is calling who a freak now?" He jeered. I think the vampire man might've struck a nerve when he dropped that "F" word. "You literally sold you humanity just for the misconception of immortally."

Montreal let out a low chortle as he run towards Zel. "Vice Flare!" Flames formed in the shape of arrows as the gathered towards the enraged vampire. The area where the man was afoot exploded as the heat wave hit me in the face. The smoldering settled as the area clears; Montreal was nowhere to be seen, and nor was Proserpina! Not too far ahead of us, the two were in a conflict as he dragged her along.

"I'm sure lady Karnstein will be pleased with this!' He rejoiced as they entered the manor, yet to his dismay, she slips from his grasp and heads to us. He pursuits her and we do the same. Here I was think that we may have the upper hand and stay together as a group, hoping that our legs carried us as fast to her as we could. If it weren't for the backup that came to assist Montreal, we would have still had Proserpina with us. Nope. They all grabbed her, and she disappears behind the unnatural set of oak doors. We huffed as we entered the grand manor; which appeared in the same décor that was hot two hundred years ago. Cobwebs filled every corner, and at least a layer of dust that accumulate up on the furniture was thick enough the make top soil for plants. I don't think housekeeping has been here in decades. The robs of light travel to the highest point, which reveal a great foyer, with a elegant stairway that lead to the upper floors.

"Which way do you think they took her?" Gourry murmured as Zel's ears twitched. There was a few moments of silence that followed up with Gourry inquiring. Then the blue chimera caught something as his eyes darted downwards.

"I think I hear her…" He breathed as he looked at the both of us with arched eyebrows. "But it doesn't sound like it coming from above-"

"Do you suspect they're underground?" If so, then how, we spread out beyond a foyer, keeping in mind to wander too far from each other. Lucky my eyes came about a strange set of small doors that were halfway cover by a heavy rug. Gourry heard me grunt as I tried my might to move that blasted rug! What is this freaking thing made out of?! Together we removed it off of the portals I found; I whistle out in the dark for the other comrade to join us.

"What?" Zel hissed as he came to us, his eyes focused in on the area that was under the rug. "We'll look at that? An underground passage! Good job guys!" Yeah, yeah I know. We are the best, just go and say it already! He knelt down to examine it, turning the knob, with doesn't budge at all.

"At least they were smart enough to lock it." He ridiculed as he pluck out a few strand of his wire like hair; twisting it into a make shift bobby pin. That's really clever of him. I thought to myself as I watched him picked yet again, another lock. After a few clicks, his eyes brighten as the final clank lets him know that the device is open.

"Sorry, but I'm not just a freak… but a smart one at that." I snicker lightly as a blast of cold air, and the stench of death and blood greeted us as he flung open the doors.

"Well…" I took a gulp, both being unsure but ready to go with this! After all, it would be a lesser person of me to turn heel at this point. It's not like I've faced many of a life threaten situation before, right? "What are we waiting for? Zel, take one for the team." I patted him, giving him a shove with the final one. "Go first, will ya?"

Author's rant (Because really, let's face it. That is what it really is): And another addition added to this imagination brew I conducted since the end of last year, well actually I stand correct. Mid last year is when I ran across one of my old note books that had some of this story that I had started in my 20s, a bit after the fourth seasoned air. I was missing something, other than the beginning of the story that this is based off of. Most of it was damage due to a flooding that happened in the area, so I did my best to reconstruct.

Part of that collection was the rough draft of my Fable story that I begun on my original account. I have no access to that anymore, so I created this one for the sole purpose; to get myself into a habit where I give myself an hour or two to be creative. You see, creativity has healing energy, and when we tapped into it, it allows us to re root ourselves and unlocked what we keep from ourselves. Still seeing my old account brought a smile to my face, and a part of me wants to rewrite A Pistol and A bird, a Fable fanfiction I wrote in 2009… something like that. We shall see. First thing is first, to get most of this story going before my ADHD gets the best of me, like it probably has. Sigh…

Writing began for me when I did a form of shadow work (Spiritual and inner working of one's self, to help reconnect our being as a whole, instead of shunning the bits of ours that are deemed unpleasant) when it was time for me to write down, explaining to me of what my shadow self; the first entry as a first person view, the second third person. There I saw in words, I was able to paint a picture as well as a painter can with a canvas (which is fun BTW! Another form of healing as well)

Songs of the day to help with the super focus: Persist over the slight writers block! Music is a muse of its own, and so was the play list I chose

Bella Lugosi's dead by Bauhaus

Survivalism by Nine Inch Nails

Dead as F#$K by Motionless in White

List goes on, after that YouTube just takes off, and I skip what I am not feeling. What don't look at me like that? Mines was never a phase *winks*
