Chapter Eighteen: After the flesh while it's still fresh!

"I think we have company!" Gourry yanked his sword out of its sheath as we turn and we greeted by a sight of a well build, tall platinum blond woman. She had a noble air about her and was robed in the finest of dark silks. She had an eerie beauty about her; seeming effortless it is that her undead immortal life is the secret to her good looks. Maybe that of virgin's blood as well?

"Well." Her voice was commanding yet sensual. "What sort of congregation do we have here?" She wasn't alone. Montreal, Toothless, and handful of others including the two nitwits from earlier all gathered behind her. There were more as countless of glowing eyes grouped around us.

"So she fooled us!" The bald one shouted as he pointed his fingers at me. "Look at her eyes! They're not real!" Yes they are! You were just stupid enough to think they were red apparently. Not my fault you can't tell the difference. Could you also blame me? I'm pretty sure that if it was the other way around, you would have done the same pal…

"Go easy on her and the other girl. I would like to…savor them later." The countess purred as the vampires around her hissed and snarled. I'm pretty sure she was referring to both Amelia and I. The countess then gazes at Proserpina and her current state. Her pearly complex was riddle of that with a slight green as she started to look like she was going to be sick. She loudly scoffed and threw her hands to her side in a fit. "Someone please grab her and restrain her before she sobers up and makes a run for it." I think Proserpina was more aware of what was going on then she led us to think; one of the vampires rapidly came up to her, intending to make a grab for her. There as a gagging noise and her cheeks puffed out. Next thing you know, she was projectile vomiting in the creature's face. The guy backed off and begins to gag uncontrolled. I would be too if someone just blew chunks like that in my face.

"Ugh." She groaned as she wiped off her face. "I'm so sorry Bro. I don't know what hell you all gave me, but it's not agreeing with-"She trailed off as another wave of nausea hit her hard and fought it as hard as she can. The princess begins to usher her away from the stage, and into the floor below.

"Ms. Proserpina…" Amelia tended to the ill woman's side and gently patted her back as the paced towards the door. "Try not to work yourself up, okay." The pearly chimera heaved a couple of times, still green in the face as she gasped for air. Lady Karnstein grabbed her gown out of anger. "What are you idiots doing?" She shrilled as the men around her jumped in their places. The countess pointed at the two. "What are you waiting for? Go get them now!" I don't want any of them to escape. Feed on the men if you must, but save the women for me." Does she have a preference or so? I'm getting that vibe that the duchess here may be into girls if you know what I mean. Not that anything wrong, it's just I'm not really down with the idea of being someone's 'bride' till the end of time. I saw Montreal rustle forward though the dense crowd. He hissed when he saw me and the rest of us.

"You all don't know when to stop, don't you?" He presents his fangs at me as he sneered. "But then, you all being here made it so much easier for me…" I never favored the way he put that last part. It seem like he was saying "Thanks for being here; you made it easier for us to ambush you." Typical bad guy maneuver, really… I guess he didn't consider that we were already expecting that the moment we stepped foot here. Even thought they are vampires, who are creature known for both the formidable strength and thirst for blood, still have that cliché approach when it comes to attacking. The moment Montreal was done speaking, he already was charging full on at me. Gourry went forward and swung his blade hard at the charging vampire. Montreal leaps in a flash out of the way before the sword even touch him. He stood adjunct with the others that were closing in on us all.

"Let's see how well you all can handle the lot of us in these numbers!" Montreal and the rest of the undead encircled us completely, and gotten pretty close to both Amelia and Proserpina. The pearly chimera hiccup as she surely sobered back up to her usually self. Her eyes flashed as she became very aware of the situation.

"Oh come on!" She tugged at the waist of the dress she was wearing. "Are you fucking kidding me?! " Such a strong choice of fighting words used here..."You know I hate these things! "She glared angrily at the countess as she begins to glow with energy.

"But you look so gorgeous in it…" Pokota muttered as the majority of us gazed at him with eyebrows raised. "What are you looking at? I mean she is… I can't compliment?" Amelia, who side-glances at Pokota, crossed her arms as she seemed mildly fumed... "Pokota. I don't think this is the time for that!" She sneered as she moved away from him.

"You took my stuff and my gun as well… What the fuck woman! Where is it-?!" Proserpina was more concern about the duchess and had completely ignored Pokota all together (which made he feel really awkward as he just stood there, rubbing the back of his neck). Her fist formed into a ball as she held one up in front of her. "You better cough it up, buttercup. Or I'm not going to be a happy camper. That gun means a lot to me and it was my-"

"You are a rather demanding thing…" Lady Karnstein's lips formed a sneer as she cupped her hands. "As for the dress dearest, it's all for the ceremony. After that, both the gown and your belongings won't matter to you anymore." I could sense the dread coming from Proserpina as she braced herself for the two vampires who were coming at her from both sides, knocking one away from Amelia while the other grabbed her arm in one swing. The man was able to keep his hold as she wrestles him off of her. She eventually throws him, but that vampire came back with two more. They slowly advance around both Proserpina and Amelia as their duchess stood behind them, commanding to attack us all. Soon we had the horde that I was expecting surrounding us.

"Hey something dawned on me." We all glanced at the pearly chimera as she tapped her finger on her chin. "Aren't these guys intolerant to sunlight?" They are! As you can recall when we after our first encounter with the vampire guy we ended capturing, his reaction with the sun's light was not all that great. In fact, they combust into flames and burn into a crisp! I watched her as she rubbed her hands together. "I might have an idea… Just keep back though. This may get a little hot!" What was she going on about? Was it some kind a spell? That was my guess when I saw her lips moved as she softly mumbled something.

Blessed light that grows all

From upon my hand as I call!

Michael's grace, Solar flare!

What I thought at first was a spinoff of a fireball actually turned out to be something in an explosion of light; as bright as the sun, expel from Proserpina but within a limited radius. The effect did a great number on the neighboring vampires who still was moving as she was casting the spell. . I can see what she meant by hot, the area after the spell was casted felt at least 20 degrees warmer, and we are underground. Yet where Lady Karnstein stood along with her vampire mob was untouched.

"Oh well you look at that!" It was hard to tell if she was impressed or trying to insult. "You know little magic tricks. How quaint! Not to mention rather unique at that!" She outstretched her hand and more of the vampires came charging after us. Zelgadis's blade glowed red as he slash out at a couple of them as they passed him. Gourry successfully disemboweled a guy as he came from my blind spot, and I launched out several Flare arrows at the ones behind him. Proserpina charged up more sunlight as she set off another blast of brilliant heat. More of the undead fell to the floor smoldering as they twitched dying. Pokota protected Prince Phil while the man took on a vampire bared fisted, joining him was Amelia, who balled hands glowed as she ganged on the same guy. The other prince stopped as the father and daughter duo took on a couple more vampires. I saw his lips moved as he chanted.

Darkness beyond twilight

I recognize those words from anywhere and knew instantly what it was; he was casting the Dragon Slave, one of my more used spells, and here I was thinking that I was going to be the first one to cast in!

"Pokota wait!" Zel exclaimed as he sliced though the torso of a man. "Don't cast that in such a confined space!" Oh shit! He did have a point; a spell like that would be a definite end to the vampires, but it may as well take most of us down as well, and with how this place is set up; I doubt that we would have much time to escape from here!

Crimson beyond blood that flows

I don't think he heard Zel's advice because by the looks of it, he was already set at blasting this place to smithereens! There was glowing, deep red energy that developed around Pokota as he gathered more of it.

Buried within a stream of time is where your power grows

"Ah!" Gourry took noticed as he and Zel made a mad dash to the spell casting prince with the intentions of stopping him. The same with Amelia, Phil and myself as we try to outrun the time we had left before he was done. Proserpina even caught on to the urgency and took off in a sprint as well.

I pledge myself to conquer, all the foes that stand before the mighty gift bestowed in my unworthy hands

Let the fools who stand before us be destroyed

We all carried ourselves as fast as we could. Even some of the vampires joined as well, while the duchess and the rest just stood there, with their eyes narrowed and their hands either on their hips or arms crossed. If they knew what this was capable of, they would not be standing there like that.

By the power that you and I possess

We all leaped in what felt like slow motion as everyone made a jump at Pokota at same time. We were gaining on him even more as the final words slipped out of his mouth.

Dragon Slave-!

All of us had dog piled on top of the Prince as he let out a squeal when everyone dropped on him. For a moment I thought we were done for, but we interrupted it in time just to save everyone, well the ones that matter that is.

"There are some barriers here in these grounds that the previous lord had, in order to keep that mages that studied here limited to what they could cast. Rather nifty if you ask me… Makes a little hocus pocus like a dragon slave into a fabulous light show." Her laughter was filled with a mocking tone as she just told us all, who ran to Pokota out of the sheer fear of being blown apart, that this whole time it been magically warded off to prevent spells like that being successful casted in the first place. Ha! That's what you get for trying to steal my flame! It also explains why she and the others didn't panic; I guess it worked for to ward off certain spells, probably mostly black magic based spells which would indeed blow up not just the manor, but a good part of the town as well. Other magic types such as shaman and Holy magic may have a chance being cast; though the category of the spells that Proserpina could know would probably be consider else wise. That is something that I'll have to eventually know, once all of this madness is over that is. We gathered ourselves back to our battle pose; waiting for the enemy's next strike as everyone, including myself, prepared their selves for the next move. The duchess was amused as she eyed us all with a dark smirk on her long face.

"Well, let's not get too ahead of ourselves." She claps her hands and a man flips a lever on the wall. The auditorium shakes violently as the stage disappears into the floor; crating a platform like area. A man with a red plush cushion with a strange remote appear next to her, holding it up to her as she carefully takes the device. She then waves it in front of her, as if she was flaunting an unknown power that we must be afraid of. "As much as you may think you have the upper hand, you may want to reconsider your situation you choose to be in." She snaps her fingers, and there was a deafen snorting and snarling that filled the room as the Minotaur from earlier greeted us with his glaring eyes and flaring nostrils. He screeched when he recognized me by my scent, as if the creature was trying to rat me out about escaping from him before. He then pulled and struggled against the four men that held his chains.

"Do you really think I'm going to make it easier for the lot of you to take us on?" Lady Karnstein questioned as she glides toward the creature, hovering in front of him; he snorts the air around the woman, saliva building up more as he let out a low hungry growl.

"This damn beast is always hungry. The poor dear has such an appetite. Unfortunately that is the issues with beast men. These chimeras loose too much of their humanity, and become empty sacks of function yet simple meat that obeys at every command." Bravo, so basically you came up with a living, savage golem like beast that is basically a bottomless pit.

"Yet after seeing subjects such as these two-"She included Zelgadis, who somewhat looked shocked about the sudden interest about his state. "I am inspired to see if beings like these are success at transformation."

I could hear Proserpina shallow hard as she summoned more of the sunlight and let out a good blast. Though the countess vanished from the spot where she was; the Minotaur and a handful of vampire where hit. The beast let out a blood curling cried that made Gourry, Amelia and I flinched as he stomped at the ground. The men who held the chains flail to the ground and the beast took off in a full sprint at us. The pearly Chimera charged up again as the rest of us started to retreat back to where the stage was. More of the Solar flare was blasted at the minotaur, causing the creature to crash to the ground, trashing as he grasp his face, clawing at where it's eyes once where. His mouth hung as wide as it could as he screeched so loud, we shield our ears! He stomped and howled as he thrashes his arms about. The duchess observes the beast in a fowl manner.

"Such a disappointment these wards don't ward off all magic-"She was watching Proserpina the most. "Yet I'm intrigue of the other nice little tricks you may know. Care to show us more?" She grabs one of the chains that rattled nearby in her gloved hand, tugging the beast to her front, where he was thrown in. His body crashed and shook the ground violently in front of us. He lifted his upper body, and glared as us with those gaping holes where his eyes once were. I could feel the sense of dread weigh me down as he begun to charge after us. The energy shifted and sparks begin to fly as a bolt as Lighting zapped from her hands and at the Minotaur. The beast crashes again into the ground; his body in a fit of convulsions as the lighting took its course. Instead of fully disappearing from its caster; the lighting Proserpina summoned remains in her grasp, as if she was holding a rod.

"Rather impressive!" Another zapped out of her hands as she threw one at Lady Karnstein. The duchess vanished from the spot, and was nowhere to be seen. The chain she was holding falls to the floor, landing with a thud. The beast cease his thrashing, and returns to his feet. His great shoulders heaved as he panted, turning his face to us. I faced it back and adjust my talismans, which glowed red as they grew with the energy of each dark lord of the four worlds.

You pitiful twisted creatures; not of this world

By the light of Purity I possess, I bid thee, begone to the nexus of our two worlds-

" -Run!" Amelia shrieked as the Minotaur begins to charge after us. She grabs her father and turns heel as both Pokota and Zelgadis follow right behind them. Gourry, Proserpina stood behind as I made the attempt to cast a spell that may work just as well.

MEGIDO FLARE!

An explosion of light erupted and fills a good radius of the room as it expanded; making a direct hit to the Minotaur. It engulfs him in white flames, and he slumps to his knees.

"What a marvelous attempt!" Lady Karnstein's voice jeered from the walls as she laughed. "But dear, you are ignorant to one thing; you see; that is not just an ordinary Minotaur, but one who is a hybrid of a troll's DNA at that!" That made a lot of sense as I watched the monster struggle to stand back up, his flesh hiss and boils formed as the holy magic pulse though his epidermis. He let out a bloodthirsty roar, and even though he was blind and severely burn; it did nothing to slow his speed as the lower his head at me.

"Lina-!' Proserpina grabbed me. "I got an idea." And I'm listening. She suggests combining the power of both of the spells we cast. So we stance together, and the air around us burn greatly as we chanted the verses. As crazy as this is going to sound like, but the moment when we both said the word 'flare' (Even though Megido and Solar are two very different terms now!) the whole auditorium grew with a scolding heat and a very blinding light as both spells went off simultaneously. The Minotaur took a direct head, and his body fell to the floor with a squishy thud.

"You-"I heard the countess screech as she materialized back into the room above us. "That was dirty of the both of you, yet I'm applauding by the level of intelligence possess to even come up with that…" She held up her right hand; which still had the curious looking remote in it. "Yet this is the point where it is no longer going to be easy for the rest of you all." I watched as her delicate fingers pressed on to a red button; the floor trembled violently and parts of the red carpet begin to split. I felt the ground give away; this whole time, we all were standing on a huge trap door!

I could hear the mixture of screams and yells as I fell into the dark descend; using Levitation, I caught myself from completely crashing into the ground. I could hear someone let out a low and long groan as they shuffle their selves from the rubble.

"Who's that?" I called out as I summon Light to see; Gourry stood looking rather rough from the fall, he dragged himself towards me.

"Lina. My leg-"He grunted as I observe his injury. The impact he made snap his femur, which also twisted it. "-I think it's broke- OW!" I gently grasp it, turning it slowly back into its place. I may be no doctor, but I at least have a general knowledge of the anatomy to at least heal certain aliments. I focus as I softly chanted a mending spell for his wound. In the distance there was a girl's voice, and the trotting of foot falls as her calls echo out.

From what I can tell, we were deep underground, somewhere really below the surface of where the manor is. This place was like a cavern; there were stalactites and stalagmites of an impressive size that mirrored each other scatter throughout the cave like tunnel. In the distance there was another ball that glowed as it came closer.

"Father, Where are you! Mr. Zelgadis…Pokota! Ms. Proserpina… Is anyone here?!" It sounded like Amelia, and I was correct when I saw her spot us with a somewhat delighted expression.

"Oh Ms. Lina! Mr. Gourry!" She embraced me and sighed deeply in relief. "Good thing I found the two of you at least." She eyed Gourry, who was both sweaty and pale as he recovers from the pain. "Mr. Gourry! You don't look so good…" She bent beside me and assisted with helping him heal.

"Yeah he broke his leg badly from the fall." The injury was shortly fused back together like nothing happened, thanks to Amelia. I got to say, she is getting at Sylphiel's Level when it comes to any Holy/or White magic! Gourry slowly sat up and rubbed his thigh area, some of the cloth of his trousers where torn, but he will be fine. He brushes himself and collects the sword he was using.

"Where is everybody else?" I shrugged at her question. Beats me, but I got the feeling that a lot of us got disperse from the trap door incident. Our best bet was for the three of us to set out, and search for the others. Sticking together is the main plan as well as both Amelia and I held our light high as we set out in the depths.

Somewhere a man stirred from the spot he was laying in; his head throbbed as he props himself on his knees, taking a deep breath as his eyes regain their focus. With on hand he fixed his head band, while the other fumbles around in the darkness momentary. His hand grabs the tunic's of another that was close to him.

"Big Phil." The man's voice croaked as he coughed briefly to clear it. "Are you okay?" He pulls the older male to his feet.

"Yes." Prince Phil cleared his throat as well, brushing the dust off of his robes. "Where are we Pokota?"

"That I can't answer, but I think we are somewhere deep underground." The two fell silent for a moment, listening out for moment and to make out their surroundings. The sound of water trickling down rocks whispered as the two departed from the area.

"Amelia, dear!" The prince voice croaked as he continues to call after his beloved daughter. Tears of desperation formed in his orbs as he sighed in longing. The other joins him, calling for the first, then down the list on his comrade's names.

"Amelia, cutie-!" Pokota shouted into the space. "Are you down here?" He peered his head down an gap big enough for a girl of that size to fit in, but only to find bats, and some kind of slimy substance.

"-Gourry!" The older called out as the other called after him. "Dumbass, where are you?" He peeped around the corner for a certain blond, only to find nothing but more streams of running water. Prince Phil followed the younger man with his unibrow even more knitted tightly together.

"-Zelgadis!" The two encounter a familiar silhouette as they whipped around a sharp nook; running into what they thought was a glimpse of a certain blue chimera.

"Hey jerk face!" Pokota goes to grab the cloth of what look like a cape, but only to find that beneath it was an odd mound that resembled him. "That's not Zelgadis." Prince Phil eyed the object, tapping it with his gloved finger. "You should've known better-"He scolded at the young prince as the two continued forward into the depths.

"Lina-!" The older prince's voice was beginning to crack as it reverted off of the natural arch above them. "Are you down here?!"

"Flatty Queen!" Pokota's tone resonated within the cavern's walls. "The flatty kingdom calls for you!"

"Pokota!" Prince Phil hissed as he raised his fist at the younger prince. "Name calling is not permitted in my presence." The other sighs heavily as other grunts. "You shouldn't being doing that. You are royalty after all-"

"Do you remember the other pretty girl's name?" Prince Phil blinked as Pokota cuts him off from his proclamation, but instead of being in anger, the older man dark eyes bounced around as he recalls the female's name.

"Proserpina, I think." He responded as the younger prince cupped his hands. "Hey hottie!" He yelled as the older man flinched. "If you can hear me; we are here! Oh Proserpina!" He stopped as his hand held his ear, listening carefully for any kind of response. The older man sucks his teeth as he shook his head at his fellow friend.

"Nothing. Dammit." He grumbles and grouse as his face wrinkles up. "It looks like it's just you and I, Big Phil."

"So it is." Prince Phil rasped as his motion his companion to come with. "It's best if we move, I think we may run into someone we know-"

"-Or it could be a bunch of vampires." Pokota held up a finger as he interrupted the other prince. "It still beats just sitting here."

"Yes." The other agreed as they seem to be on the same page. "I know for certain Amelia wouldn't sit still either. She would already be look around for any one of us."

'Well what are we waiting on then, Big Phil." Pokota grabbed the older man by the shoulder and swing quickly into a random direction. "Well let's getting moving then; Knees to Chest!" They wonder into the labyrinth like structure unaware of what await ahead…

The sound of heels hitting rapidly against the hard stone ground echoed loudly as the man chased the woman; Proserpina took a leap across a lengthy gap as the vampire Montreal suck hot on her heels! It wasn't shortly after they all took a fall down to these depths after the triggered was press. There was only one way up, and he was dead set to both capture her and prevent the others from escaping, but first it was to catch this bloody woman who now raced though the cavern as if her life was betted on.

Which it was; His lady had carefully planned, and to perform the ceremony of transformation onto the chimera woman. This is based on previous researched that followed up with the latest two subject; a male part troll Minotaur, and the Tigeress hybrid. Both were a success with the changing process, in the physical aspects that is. The failure was; the poor creatures had lost what was left of their humanity, and attack any living think without a second thought. His master theorized that since they were more beasts then man, then that is why they resort to such a primeval manner. Whilst; the countess believe that the female chimera, and possibly the part golem male as well, may be a success and retain their civil nature, but at the same time be the very immortal, everlasting powerful beings of the night, that crave the life force of man.

When he questioned her of why turn both of them, she simply answered him with: "Why not Montreal? Why not start creating the beginnings of a powerful army? Why not start with turning these chimeras into weapons of our own benefit? With beings like these at our command, we could take over these weak mortals, and push them back to the bottom of the food chain where they belong! The woman I wanted as my bride, but the for the golem boy, we can figure out what can break him before brainwashing."

Her dreams where to take over; to conquer the human race, and work her way up until they had the dragon race beneath their feet. She wanted them to rise along with the gods, and eventually consume them as well.

Montreal pushed himself as hard as his unnatural body could; catching this woman would make his master so delighted! She would never doubt turning him. Ever since that faithful night when he first saw her; it was a bit after he had washed up upon shore days after that blasted freak show mermaid flip his lifeboat to save those stupid three! It was in the dead of night and the tide had carried him in. He was sun burnt and his cloths tattered and torn from the surf. He turns himself over and she was there, gazing at him. Her beauty was like the moon, and he could not stop from staring at her. He realizes what she was, when her graceful visage turn into that of a creature of nightmares. He was on her turf, and the penalty was to be consumed; for the rule was not a living soul passes though this ground. This is what has protected her existence from other kingdoms for centuries. Montreal begged for his life, stating his worth if she spares him. Again the rules where rules, and not a living soul was to pass through; He was spared, but in a different way, and from there on, his favorite drink is that of virgin's blood.

Proserpina skidded across a sharp angle and took off faster as she made a beeline across an ancient bridge. Bits of stone crumbled as she sped across it, and the little wings on her boots flaps repetitively giving a boost to her distance that was cover. Soon she found herself in a great area that was vasly opened, but with no exit.

"It seems like I have you corner!' Montreal's voice boomed as he approach the woman, who turned from her back facing him with a determined look that burn from her dazzling eyes

'What's this?" He mused as her stance changed for battle. "You think you can take me on then?"

"Always." She sharply replies in a professional manner. "I can take anyone on. Trust me."

"Is that so?" He jeered as he licks his lips. His fangs popped from beneath. 'What makes you believe that then?"

Her golden eyes narrowed at him. "I've wrangle on bigger fish then you buddy. That's for sure!" Her body glowed with light as he charged forwards

Meanwhile, a stony heap rumbles as a hand works itself though the rocks. Grasping at the stones and knocking them to the side; it continues moving the rumble aside, until another hand is set free. Zelgadis pulled himself from the pile that covered him after he plummetted into a deeper part of a underground cavern. He was alone, and all he could hear was the sounds of water running close by. The blue Chimera gathers to his feet, brushing off the dust from his cape and tunic, and checking for his sword. He then set out, his boots making a soft thud as he moved. Even though the darkness was thick, his eyes could make out shapes and a bit details. He weaves his way in and out of crevice that edge against a flowing underground river. The water moved rapidly with a great force; as it pushed against the stones and boulders that lie in the bank. Zelgadis dare against it raging shore, removing his glove as he prepares himself to test the river's might. Just as he suspected, the water had very little force on him as it would with the average human male. He risk as he strolled into the bank, the water engulfing his torso as he waddled in the freezing waters. Another moment he was grateful that he was what he was as he successfully took on the current and pass though. He pulled himself on to the rocks on the other side of the bank, and stroll to the next area. From time to time, he would stand still and listen out for any one of his friend, it wasn't until long he encounter the sounds of struggle. It was a couple miles away, from his judgment. After a second of hounding in on the source of where it was coming from, he took off in a full sprint and skidded, stopping inches away from a grand fissure. Sighing to himself, the man closed his eyes and gather energy.

"Leviation!' He command and his body begin to float. His face furrowed as he focus more energy around him.

"Ray wing!" With a mighty gale, he zoomed across the opening, landing on to the other side as he continue his jog until the noises where more explicable to make out what was going on. The noise ahead was clearly of that of combat, but who was fighting whom? As he drew near, he heard the sounds of a woman struggle and a man's deep voice that gave a rather deep maniacal laugh.

"Again," The man taunted as Zel zipped though the arch way. "Do you think you have what it even takes to even bring the likes of me down?" He recognizes that tone; it was Montreal! The woman, who he had trapped within the space was none other than Proserpina. Zel slowed his pace as he silently moved closer to the vampire who was boosting.

"Do you think you little sunlight or magic tricks are going to stop me?" He sized up as he closed in on her. "haven't you forgotten that it was Lady Karnstien herself that sired me? Not no rag tag lower blood sucking ghoul that's for certain!"

"That means you have inherited her powers and abilities." Zelgadis announced, making his present known as Montreal glared at him while Proserpina greeted him with a faint smile.

"Yes! Finally! " She whispers. "Some extra muscle has arrived! You're a sight for sore eyes, Zel!"

"I suppose I'll take that as a compliment." The blue chimera nodded, a faint pink built up in his cheeks as he readied his blade. "But for now, it looks like we have to settle this once and for all; since we weren't able to apparently shake him off since the boat incident." Montreal hissed at Zelgadis, who growled back. Proserpina gathered herself and blasted off a wave of light. The vampire vanished from plain sight, but appeared in the other's blind side, taking the opportunity to swipe at him.

"You're going to have to do better than that." Zelgadis jested as he dodges the vampire's second attack. "I have sharp senses, especially hearing-" He leaned to the side as claws almost rake across his face."- and I also have quick reflex at that."

"You talk too fucking much!' Montreal snapped as he glowed red, before teleporting from in front of Zelgadis to behind Proserpina. He yells at her, which her head snaps back in time to make eye contact with Montreal, who viciously seizes her waist, tugging her upwards in attempt to throw her over his shoulder.

"I think the fuck not-"With a forceful kick in the man's groan, the vampire let out a gagged and nearly dropped the pearly chimera on the ground. She slides from him, lifting him up onto her upper body, before using all her might to slam him hard on the earth. The ground cracks as Montreal make impact from her strength. He hacks for a moment, coughing up a bit of blood that trailed off with his saliva.

"Now I see why she wants to change the both of you…" His voice trailed off as he climbed back up. A sickening smirk forms across his twisted face. "And I'll make sure she lives up to her wish!"

Author's rant: My dear readers, I want to say that I do appreciate the time you all take, and the amount of patience you all have to read this. It really puts a smile on my face when I see how many views I get, and it's surprising. You all feed my muses, and they keep me going. Thank you!

Anyways, another chapter done, and I was able to edit this a bit better than before (Last chapter was still a diamond in the rough; I caught a handful of errors in it. It's just not easy to catch them on a glaring screen). There may be a few mishaps here and there, but I do reread my chapters during long van rides to work, so it all gets cover at my own pace.

I may have miscounted how many sections this story is going to be in, since there is so much going on (even with Proserpina's world) that there may be a fourth installment. We shall see. I do have enough background information created to where I can write Proserpina's world in a similar manner to have the Lost Universe was done, except zombies instead of space travel. The brain is always brewing the imagination tea, and I'm always drinking it

Playlist that was rocked out with while typing this:

After the flesh by My life with the Thrill Kill Kult (Sinister Mix)

Blood Walk by Cabaret Nocturne

Sanri by She past away

V is for Vampire by Power man 5000

(Yes I have odd taste in music! But it gets the job done)

Till next Sunday loves! *MUAH*
