See you on the other side ;)
"You're lucky I'm not some jealous drama queen, or I might have been offended by this meeting location."
"Do you or don't you want to meet Jen, Hummel? Plus you're definitely a drama queen and I know you've secretly been jealous of me for years, so cut the crap already."
"Whatever, it's just funny that you would finally decide to introduce me to your girlfriend at "our" home away from home. We did dub this our coffee nook for a reason."
"Ok, number one she's not my girlfriend. Number two, she actually suggested we meet here after I told her how much I love this place and finally we had to dub this our coffee nook because according to you every other place either had sub-par coffee or too many fashion disasters for your liking."
"It's not my fault I have an eye for fashion Santana. Anyway, if Jennifer isn't your girlfriend then why has she been monopolizing all of your free time for the last two months? I feel like I've been having an affair with your Instagram. I'm still trying to figure out what that picture from your first date was all about."
Flashback
"Thanks for helping me out on such short notice. Ally was supposed to be my plus one, but apparently Nate had some issue that needed her full attention."
"It's no big deal. I like being a knight in shining armor."
"My Hero…No seriously though, I don't want you to feel obligated to always say yes. I know we've been hanging out a lot lately and don't get me wrong, I love it, but if you have better things to do-"
"Relax Jen, it's fine. I like hanging out with you too. I wouldn't have agreed to come if this wasn't where I wanted to be." Jennifer offers Santana a shy smile, slightly nodding as the blush creeps onto her cheeks.
"Shall we?" Jen gestures towards an antique door as they reach a small brick building.
"So, I'm guessing you and Ally won't be auditioning for Master Chef anytime soon?" Santana asks, while tying the apron strings around her back.
The pair stand in front of a large marble island containing all of their ingredients. Santana can't help but notice the awkward couples surrounding the island and wonders if coming along was a good idea.
When Jen called to ask if she was free, she said yes without giving the invite a second thought. She and Jennifer had already hung out a few times, but it was never just the two of them.
It honestly felt amazing spending time with someone who wasn't a constant reminder of Lima and the sore subjects that went along with her past. Jennifer was easy to talk to and even though Santana was still a bit guarded around the other brunette, Jenny made her feel like no matter what the topic of discussion was, she could always be herself without the fear of judgments; Plus, the sorority president was equally as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside, a perk Santana absolutely loved.
"I think auditioning for Kitchen Nightmares would be much more suitable." Jenny responds, breaking the Latina from her thoughts.
"Ah Huh…so what you're saying is that whatever you're about to cook in this class won't be edible?"
"Well, I'm not the best cook, but at least I'm trying to learn. That should at least get me a few brownie points, don't you think?"
"Not if the brownies you're referring to, taste like shit." Santana chuckles feigning disgust. "You do however get credit for making a chef's hat and apron look incredibly hot."
The urge to kiss Jennifer's soft lips makes the Latina initiate contact by pushing a loose strand of hair behind the other girl's ear.
"I guess we're even then." Jen whispers, as she leans her cheek into the warm palm.
She moves forward in hopes to taste Santana once again, but they are interrupted as someone clears their throat.
"You know, the rule about kissing the cook usually comes into play after you taste their food." A short chubby middle aged women comments as she leans into Jennifer with a mischievous smirk.
"Alright! Let's fire it up, well not literally, but you guys know what I mean."
The two brunettes offer each other shy smiles, before looking over the instructions that have been placed in front of them.
30 minutes later...
"God I'm so embarrassed!" Jenny tries to calm down as they walk the short distance to the subway.
"Yea and now the whole world will see what an amazing chef you are. Gotta love social media."
"You didn't?!" Jen halts in the middle of the street as she questions the smiling Latina.
"I had to, what else was I supposed to do with that epic moment? I had to share it."
"Santana! Wasn't it bad enough that we got kicked out of the class?"
"No actually, that was pretty badass. Well maybe not the nasty burnt smell, but did you see how high that stove went? It was amazing!"
"I'm glad you find this amusing; we could have been killed. I can't believe you were taking pictures." Jenny pouts as they take their seats on the train.
She reaches over and snatches Santana's phone out of her hand.
"Let me assess the damage. Lord only knows what you posted."
"Did you just jack my phone miss? I don't know if I should be mad or turned on at your assertiveness."
"Hush, before I make you sit with Captain Commando over there. Looks like he forgot to wear the other half of those shorts."
"That is by far… the most disturbing thing I've seen all day and that includes the blown-up kitchenette we left behind. I think you singed the instructor's eyebrows off, by the way. Good job though, they looked like they hadn't been tweezed in years. I've seen full grown beards with less hair than those things."
Santana looks over to Jen, checking to see if she's still looking at the picture she posted.
"Wh-what are you doing? That's not Instagram." Santana can't help the nervous tone her words take.
"I'm sorry, I was just closing it out and your S Note app popped up."
Jen hands the Latina her phone before wringing her hands together. She knows she shouldn't have read Santana's personal stuff, but it literally popped up and after glancing over the first sentence, she became mesmerized.
"Santana, please don't be mad. I just, it's really…" Jenny tries to find the words, but comes up short.
"I'm not mad. I mean, I guess things are normally written to be read. It's no big deal."
"San, I'm not a professional literature critic or anything, but from the looks of it, you're an amazing writer. That poem is beautiful. Do you know that?"
Santana looks anywhere but at the brunette next to her.
"Writing is just a hobby, something I did throughout high school to help me keep my sanity." She states, as her shoes become her focal point.
"Yea, but that was dated last month. You shouldn't down play a gift like that." Jennifer takes the Latina's hand into her own, forcing her to look up.
"Please Jen, I have a rep to protect. Wouldn't want anyone finding out that Auntie Snixx is secretly a hopeless romantic." Santana smiles as she tries to lighten up the conversation. "So enough about me, let's talk about you. I believe you owe me a skeleton from your primly organized closet."
"How bout we play 20 questions instead? If you're good enough, you may be able to get a good secret out of me. I gotta warn you though, I'm a pro at this game."
"HmMm…good to know. First question…How long has it been since you had sex?" Santana laughs as Jennifer turns beet red. This is going to be an awesome game.

"The next thing I know he is running out of his bedroom in a pair of boxers, mind you he is still drunk, begging me to help him."
"Oh God, what happened? Did she have crabs or something?"
"Uh, no. HE didn't have crabs."
"Excuse me, did you just say HE? The chick was a dude?"
"Uh huh…full fledged man, who by the way turned out to be such a sweat heart named Tim and so gorgeous might I add. Anyway, my brother was mortified. He has always been a supporter of the LGBT community, but I guess good ol' Tim caught him off guard. After that night, he has never drunken himself into a stupor and vows to never pick up random rebounds after a tough break up."
"Wow, that's crazy. Maybe he should have given Tim a chance. I'll make sure to ask him what went wrong when I meet him."
"Oh no you won't. He would kill me if he knew I told anyone else about that. Ally accidentally let it slip one time and we had to sleep with our eyes open."
Their laughing stops as they catch sight of the angry blonde sitting on the front steps of the Delta Pi house.
"Jenny! Where the hell have you been? Hey Santana." The blonde shouts, making her way to the startled pair.
"We've been trying to get ahold of you, but your phone just goes straight to voicemail. Tara is worried si-"
"Ally!" Jen finally finds her voice, the knot in her throat making it difficult to continue. "I'm sorry I didn't hear my phone. How's Nate doing?"
"What?" Allison asks in confusion.
"Nate...you know, your boyfriend…with the big emergency that couldn't wait?" Jennifer sends her friend a pleading look, trying her best to sell this story in front of the Latina.
"Huh?"
"Too bad you couldn't make it to our cooking class today, because he called you with that e-m-e-r-g-e-n-c-y…"
Allison's eyes widen as she finally realizes what's going on.
"Right!" the blonde face palms and continues to nod. "All taken care of. Men…you know how it goes. In fact, I think I'll go call him right now. See ya later Santana." She turns on her heals offering Jen an apologetic glance before jogging up the steps to the house.
"That girl can be so forgetful at ti-"
"Jen…" Santana interrupts.
"So, thanks again for coming. I'll talk to you lat-"
"Jenny…" this time the Latina reaches out, gently grabbing Jennifer's arm to keep her from walking away.
Jen's blushing cheeks make Santana smile. She wants to laugh at how adorably embarrassed Jennifer is right now, but more than that she wants to show the girl that she's not mad at her for pulling this little stunt. If anything, she's flattered that someone would go through all of that trouble just to spend some time with her.
Deciding that the sorority president has suffered enough, Santana leans in and gently presses her lips against the quivering ones in front of her.
Present Day
"Harper, is everything all set with the music?"
"Yup, ready to go captain."
"Jackie, the flowers?"
"They're perfect Jen. She's going to love them."
"Has anyone seen my phone? Oh my god, look at my hair."
"Jennifer…"
"This makeup is way too heavy. I'm pretty sure she prefers the natural look better and what was I thinking with this dress?"
"Jenny, you look amazing. Relax!"
"I can't, I have to change. It's wrong, everything is so wrong!"
"Jennifer Celeste Grayson! Sit the fuck down and shut up for a second." Allison gives the brunette a moment to compose herself before continuing.
"I know you want everything to be absolutely perfect for Santana, but you have to calm down. We have everything under control. Tara even has a checklist that she's having each girl sign off on."
"I'm sorry. She just really means a lot to me and I want to make sure I don't mess this up. Plus she invited Kurt to come and I've never met him and this is gonna be his first impression of me and-"
"Jenny chill out. You're going to have a panic attack." Allison rubs her hands up and down her friend's arms in an attempt to sooth her.
"Kurt being there is even better, because he will get to see how much you care about someone who is dear to his heart. If they're as close as you say they are, I'm sure he'll be thrilled to know that the girl who Santana has been spending most of her time with, is head over heels for his sassy friend."
Jennifer tries to process what Allison has just said. She knows that the Santana cares about her, but she's scared of possible rejection.
She thinks back to one specific conversation her and Santana had while lounging in her room watching some romantic comedy on FX. She clearly remembers the look on Santana's face when the main character finally poured his heart out via a huge flash mob. She had rolled her eyes before verbally lynching prince charming for his last ditch effort at getting to play "hide the salami." Her words, not mine. What if this was all too much for her? She deserves this though. After her failed relationships Santana deserves for someone to completely sweep her off her feet. She deserves to be someone's first choice and with that being said, Jen was ready to do just that.
"Ok Ally…Let's do this."

"Ok so what do you think? I mean she seems really lovely but are you like in love with her?"
Please God help me out here. I don't know how many more questions I can answer for Kurt before pulling my hair out. I'm really into Jen, but if I tell him that I could see myself possibly becoming an exclusive item, I know where this conversation is gonna go.
"You know I ask because I love you, right? I mean I know you don't want to get all mushy with feelings here, but Santana the last thing I want is for you to get hurt again by some girl who you've only known for a few months."
"Kurt, trust me I know. That's not wha-" beat boxing and harmonized humming begin to fill the small café.
Whaahh Whaahh

"Uh Kurt, did I miss something? Since when does this place have Lauren Hill karaoke night?" Santana looks at her speechless friend but finds him frozen to his seat gawking at something behind her. She follows his line of sight, slowly turning in her seat.
Holy shit. Is-Is that Quinn and Brittany? Why the hell are they in barista uniforms? And singing on the counter-top? Do they work here? What the hell is going on?
Whaahh Whaahh

"Santana, umm why are all the female baristas walking towards you? Is there something you want to tell me?" Kurt smiles as he watches this spectacle unfold.
One by one each Delta Pi walks up to Santana, handing her a perfectly picked Tiger Lilly before falling in line in front of her two swaying best friends, who have now been joined on the counter-top by Tara and Allison.
Am I dreaming? This isn't really happening. Why are my hands shaking? Breath Lopez, just remember to breath.
The Latina is snapped out of her thoughts as a familiar voice begins take the lead.
You're just too good to be true.
Can't take my eyes off of you.
You'd be like heaven to touch.
I wanna hold you so much.
At long last love has arrived.
And I thank God I'm alive.
You're just too good to be true.
Can't take my eyes off of you.
Jennifer smiles at the shocked brunette in front of her. This is it, she's finally doing it. There's no turning back now. Santana knows how she feels.
With the help of two guys Jenny steps off of the counter-top and purposefully makes her way towards Santana, offering her a wink as she stops a few feet in front of her.
Pardon the way that I stare.
There's nothing else to compare.
The sight of you leaves me weak.
There are no words left to speak.
But if you feel like I feel.
Please let me know that it's real.
You're just too good to be true.
Can't take my eyes off of you.
Jenny caresses Santana's warm cheek before gently grabbing her left hand and pulling her up. She looks deep into the beautiful mocha orbs in front of her as she sings the lyrics to the song that speaks the words she couldn't bring herself to simply say.
I need you baby, if it's quite all right,
I need you baby to warm a lonely night.
I love you baby...
Trust in me when I say, it's OK
Oh pretty baby, don't let me down I pray.
Oh pretty baby, now that I found you, stay.
And let me love you, oh baby let me love you, oh baby...
The entire café starts awing as they sing along to the parts they know, offering Jenny encouragement while she continues to sing. She brings Santana's hand up to her lips, placing a sweet kiss to the caramel skin as the song comes to an end.
"Jen, I-I don't know..."
"Santana, I know this is a bit much and I completely blindsided you here, but I-"
Jennifer can feel her whole body shiver as her nerves start to creep up again. She's not sure if she should continue but as she looks back up at the women in front of her, she sees the smallest upward twitch of Santana's lip and her bravery comes back full force.
"If you would let me, I would love to be your girlfriend. There's nothing more I want than to show you what true love, trust and happiness really mean. I know how you feel about sappy love stories and about corny declarations of love, but if you give us a shot, I promise to keep the cheesiness to a minimum."
Jenny takes a moment to breath as the crowd that's formed around them chuckle.
Santana glances around at all of the expectant faces, catching site of hazel eyes across the room. Quinn and Brittany stand behind Jen with all of the other Delta Pi girls, as they eagerly wait. Their eyes however don't ask the same questions as everyone else. Their eyes seem dim as they try to look at anything else besides the Latina.
"Santana…will you be my girlfriend?"
Whhheeewwww...I know it's been forever and a day.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter...if you didn't...kick rocks man!
REVIEWS make me HAPPY...just sayin'
