Author's Note: Hey gang, welcome back to a new chapter of Ghosts and Monsters in the Big Apple! Thanks again for your patience, I put this story to the back burner and worked on a new chapter for my Riverdale story. Now, I'm back to updating this story.
I have been reading the reviews, I know you're looking forward the Scoleri brothers appearing, just try to hang in there, they'll appear soon. This is my first time watching Ghostbusters 2, I'm just watching as I go along writing.
Anyways, a shout out to the people who reviewed: dkelly1, Guest, Crimson Commander688, and Flash XS guy: Thank you, I hope you guys enjoy the new chapter. Carter Egbert: To answer your question, I'd say a mix of both. I'll have to re-watch Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed at some point, it's been a long time.
Enough of my rambling, let's get on with the chapter! Scooby Doo and Ghostbusters don't belong to me, all rights go to their respective owners.
Chapter 7
Somewhere in the downtown New York area, Ray and the Mystery Inc. are all hanging out at Ray's occult bookstore. After the teen detectives and Scooby checked into a hotel, they joined Ray at his bookshop (Winston went home for the day, but said he'll join later). Egon showed up, and it was a joyous occasion, with everyone catching up.
"This one's interesting, Ray. Berlin, 1939. A flower cart took off by itself, rolled half a kilometer." Egon commented, holding a book in his hand. "Three hundred eyewitnesses,"
"Amazing," said Velma.
"My best to the coven." Ray called out to a customer.
"Berlin?" He asks Egon. "You know…you should also check Duke University studies on psychokinesis."
"I pulled it," Egon said.
"Perhaps you could, you help me…" Peter enters the shop. "…I'm looking for a love-potion aerosol…that I could spray on a certain Penthouse Pet…to obtain her total submission." He joins the trio.
"Hello, Venkman." Egon greeted the TV talk show host.
"Nice to see you again, Peter." Velma said.
"Hello, Miss Dinkley. Fancy seeing you here." Peter acknowledges the brunette. "Where's Freddy, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby?"
"They're around here somewhere." Velma replied.
"Hi, Pete. How's it going?" Ray questioned.
"Very well," Peter responded. "Hi, Egon. How's school?"
"I bet those science chicks dig that large cranium of yours, huh?" He asks jokingly, grinning.
"I think they're more interested in my epididymis." Egon joked back, amused.
"Like, do my eyes deceive me or is that Pete Venkman in the flesh?" Shaggy asks, who's joined by Daphne, Fred, and Scooby Doo.
"Yes. Nice to see you again, Shagster. Hi Freddy, Daphne. And hello, Scooby Dooby Doo." Peter greets the other three teens and Great Dane.
"Hello," Scooby said, giving Peter a lick on the cheek, causing Peter to chuckle.
"Ray, let's close this place up so you can buy me a calzone." Peter addresses the store proprietor.
"Man, you're speaking our lingo." Shaggy remarked. "And while we're at it, let's have pizza to go with."
"Yeah, yummy pizza." Scooby added, licking his muzzle.
Peter snickers. "Same old Shaggy and Scooby, always hungry."
"I can't do that now." Ray declined. "I'm working on something."
"But your book came in," He retrieves the book.
"Magical Paths to Future and Power."
"Thank you," said Peter.
"Good luck with that, Venkman." Egon remarked.
Peter chuckles. "Put this on my account?" He asks Ray.
"Sure."
"Ray, look at this." Egon advised, handing Ray a book.
"Oh, yeah,"
"What are you guys working on?" Peter inquired.
"Uh, well, we're just kind of…checking something out for a friend." Ray answered.
"Neat," said Peter. "Who?"
Before Ray could reply, the telephone rings. He picks up.
"Ray's Occult," Ray said. "Seven o'clock on weekdays, midnight on Saturdays. Thank you."
Ray hangs up. Peter lifts Ray's chin upwards. "Who?"
"Who?" Ray asks. "Just someone we know."
Wanting an answer, Peter reached out and tugged on Ray's ears.
"I can't! No, no, no!" He protested.
"Yes, you can." Peter insists. "Who?"
"Nobody, nobody!"
"Can you tell me now?" Peter pressed.
"Like be careful, Petey. Ray's ears may come off." Shaggy warned, half joking.
"Yeah, falling ears," said Scooby.
"Cut it out, you two." Fred chided.
"I can't!" Ray pleaded.
"Now?" Peter asks, still pulling Ray's ears.
"Dana Barrett!" Ray finally confessed.
Peter lets go, looking at his friend in disbelief.
"My Dana Barrett?" He asked.
A/N: And there you have it, folks.
Up next, the Scooby gang and the Ghostbusters go to Dana's apartment to inspect little Oscar, and then there's the reunion between Dana and Peter. The good news is that I got half of the chapter written, I need to finish writing it.
Until then, see you next time!
