On the road inside the Rust Bucket, Lincoln and Gwen watched a comedy movie on Gwen's laptop.
"Woah, never seen this movie before?" said Lincoln
"It came out a few weeks ago; my friends say it's pretty funny," said Gwen
"Well, so far it already is,"
Gwen turns to her grandpa "so grandpa, where are we going?"
"We're heading to see your Aunt Vera," said Max
Gwen smiled. "I haven't seen her since Christmas. When do we meet her?"
"We'll meet her this weekend at her retirement home,"
Lincoln joins in on the conversation, "um, what about me? because I can totally sit here in the Rustbucket."
"Nonsense Lincoln I'm not going to have you sit in the rustbucket all-day."
"So what are we going to do?"
Gwen comes up with an idea "how about I tell Aunt Vera that you're my friend and you tag-along on this trip."
"That's not a bad idea, Gwen," said Max
"Are you guys sure? I don't want you guys to get in trouble because of me," said Lincoln
"Don't worry, Lincoln, we got it besides retirement homes are full of friendly old people," said Gwen
"Okay then."
"But you do have to worry about Aunt Vera pinch cheeks," said Max
"Noted."
After a day and a half drive, the Tennyons and Lincoln arrived at the retirement home. The one thing I notice about the retirement home is the heat.
"Man I didn't expect this place to get so hot," thought Lincoln wiping off the sweat from his forehead "maybe I can turn into a big chill and cool myself off,"
The three arrive at Aunt Vera's house with Aunt Vera standing on the front porch. As Lincoln gets out of the Rv with Gwen and Max, he sees Aunt Vera's next-door neighbor, an older man standing by the window who sees Lincoln and hisses at him.
Lincoln looked away and thought, "maybe he is just an unfriendly neighbor."
"Max," said Aunt Vera
"Vera," said Max. The two hug for a brief moment and stop
"It's been too long," Aunt Vera looks at Gwen "oh Gwen, it's nice to see you again." who then pinches her cheeks
"You too, Aunt Vera," said Gwen. When Aunt Vera lets go of her cheek, she says, "ow."
Aunt Vera looks at Lincoln "and who's this now? Is he one of your friends Gwen?"
"Yes, his name Lincoln,"
"Nice to meet you, ma'am," said Lincoln
"Nice to meet you to Lincoln," Aunt Vera pinches his cheeks as well
"Ow." rubbing his cheeks
"Come in. I can't wait to chew the fat with all of you."
The Tennysons and Lincoln walk into the house and are treated to a "unique" dish for lunch to be gelatin mold.
"Oh Vera this is delicious now, what are these brown chunks in the mold?" said Max
"Pork chops and the white stuff is cauliflower," said Aunt Vera
Gwen and Lincoln look at each other with uneasy looks about the gelatin mold, and they try to eat her cooking.
"So Gwen, what are you doing so far this summer?" said Aunt Vera
"Enjoying the sights on the road trip," said Gwen
"And you Lincoln?"
"I've been learning things about the city we've been through," said Lincoln
"Ah, that's niece,"
Gwen notices something on a shelf that caught her interest. " Aunt Vera, is that stuffed red-billed North American chickadee?"
"Ohh! How perceptive, Gwen. and did you know the song of the red-billed North American chickadee is actually…"
Both Gwen and Aunt Vera said simultaneously, "a call Indicating alarm or excitement," the two mimicking the bird.
"I see why Gwen likes Aunt Vera," Lincoln thought, taking out of the mold groaning from the taste.
"So Gwen, Lincoln, how did you two meet?" said Vera
"Oh, meet when Lincoln transfers from school," said Gwen
"Yeah, Gwen helped me out with settling at school, and we started to hang out and become friends," said Lincoln
"Ah, isn't that sweet," said Aunt Vera
Later in the afternoon, Lincoln had to use the bathroom. However, he notices that Aunt Vera's neighbor is carrying a strange red rug inside from the window. When the water sparkles turn on, the old man jumps away and lands on top of the golf cart roof, and gets in.
"That's weird; maybe I should check it out," Lincoln thought
He goes to his watch and picks a ghostly hologram. With one slam to the centerpiece, he turns into a ghostly alien with one glowing pink eye. Lincoln called this alien Ghostfreak
As Ghostfreak he follows the old man while noticing the residents are strange, one old man jumping backward from his roof to an older woman catching a bee with her mouth and eating it.
"This neighborhood is freaky," Ghostfreak thought.
Ghostfreak followed the old man toward dumpsters behind a locked gate. The old man stretched to go over the gate.
"What the heck is going on?" Ghostfreak thought
Then he moved the dumpster to reveal a secret trap door. He opens it and goes down the trap door with the carpet.
"I should tell Mr. Tennyson and Gwen about this," Ghostfreak thought as he flew off.
Back at Aunt Vera's house, Ghostfreak converts back to Lincoln, and he finds Gwen reading an old person knitting magazine and Max sipping on a water bottle.
"Guys there is something wrong with this retirement neighborhood," said Lincoln
"What is it, Lincoln?" said Max
"I saw Aunt Vera's neighbor carry this red rag and his leg scratch over a gate and go down a trap door under the dumpster."
"Are you sure you weren't seeing things?" said Gwen
"I'm sure of it."
"Well I think we should investigate at least while Vera is asleep."
Max, Gwen, and Lincoln sneaked into Aunt Vera's neighbor's home to find that the house seemed ordinary.
"Nothing out of whack here," said Max
"I swear something is strange about that old man and this retirement resident I mean look the rug he took is gone," said Lincoln pointing out a messing rug
"Look Lincoln we'll investigate this later we need to get out of here."
"Fine," Lincoln then thought, "I swear something big is going down."
The next day Lincoln and Gwen were in the kitchen, and Lincoln checked the refrigerator to find a bottle of prune juices.
"I think I'm going to pass the prune juice," Lincoln thought
Gwen pours herself some water from the kitchen sink. She turns around to see Aunt Vera.
"Good morning Aunt Vera how did you sleep?" said Gwen
"Just fine," said Aunt Vera, then comes up to Lincoln and pinches his cheeks harder than last time
"Ouch," said Lincoln, and she let go of his cheeks.
Gwen comes up to Aunt Vera with a cup. "I made you a cup of coffee."
She accidentally trips and drops the cup of coffee and a glass of water on the floor, causing Aunt Vera to jump up, avoiding the water, putting her legs between the kitchen counter and the couch.
"Sorry Aunt Vera," said Gwen grabbing a paper towel
"Clean this mess up now," Aunt Vera demanded.
"I'm sorry." Gwen starts wiping up the spilled mess
"Where is your grandfather Gwen?"
"Oh, Mr. Tennyson went out for a early walk," said Lincoln
"Okay then behave yourselves I'll be back soon," Aunt Vera walks out of the house
Soon as Lincoln heard the door close, he said to Gwen, "I don't think that person was your aunt Gwen."
"What are you talking about?" said Gwen
"Has your aunt ever been that athletic for her age?"
"No, she isn't."
"Then something is replacing the residents you've got to trust me on this Gwen."
Gwen thought for a moment and said: "All right, I trust you."
"Okay, we have to go back to the trap door."
"What about my grandpa?"
"We'll go look for him while we go to the trap door."
Lincoln and Gwen leave Aunt Vera's house and head to the trap door. On the way, the two notice how quiet and it seems no older person is at home.
"I think you might be right, Lincoln; this place has gotten creepy," said Gwen
"Yeah, we just need to find out what's going on," said Lincoln
Then they walk past elderly women playing shuffleboard in the street. Suddenly women hiss and start hitting shuffles pieces at them.
"Duck," said Gwen
"Run," said Lincoln
Lincoln and Gwen run and duck from the shuffle pucks that come at them. They turn around the corner to see Max.
"Grandpa Lincoln right something is wrong with this retirement home," said Gwen
"I know," Max shows green teeth, " now come here," the fake Max stretches his arm to get them.
They both dodge the fake Max grasp and run away from him only to find more fake old people and a couple of them carrying a car.
"This isn't good," said Lincoln
The fake old people throw the car, and the two duck down for the phony Max. Gwen saw the green blob slide out and take Max form, but his eyes were inhuman. Lincoln and Gwen ran to the dumpsters with the trapdoor. Gwen couldn't move it. Lincoln goes to his watch and changes into Rath. He grabs the dumpster and throws it at the fake old people.
"Oh yeah score one for Rath and zero for weird murderous fake old guys," said Wrath
"All right enough with pro wrestling talk," said Gwen, who managed to get the trap door open
Rath looks back to see the blobs come out from under the dumpster and revert to their old person form. He grabs Gwen and jumps down the trap door to land in underground tunnels.
"You could have warned me before you just grab me and jump down," said Gwen
"Let me tell you something Gwen…you make a good point," Rath
Gwen looked up to see the fake old people crawling down to them "move."
Rath takes Gwen and runs from the fake old people until they get far enough away from them. Rath puts Gwen, and she looks around.
"These tunnels must go under the whole complex," said Gwen
"That's how they get around," said Rath
Rath hears something behind him. He turns around to see fake Max trying to grab Gwen with his stretched arms. He kicks them away from Gwen. The fake Max jumps in the air and tackles Rath to the ground. Rath gets the fake Max off of him and tries to fight him back, held back and gets punched in the mouth and thrown to the wall.
"Lincoln, that's not Max that some alien," said Gwen
"Right," said Rath grabs the fake Max, suplex him to the ground, and then throws him back down the tunnel. He turns to Gwen, "how did you know he's an alien?"
"What else could they be ?" Gwen shrugs
Rath and Gwen move further down the tunnel until Rath turns back to Lincoln. Five minutes later, they see alien ships and green pods surrounding the ship.
"Woah, what's with the pods?" said Lincoln
Lincoln and Gwen head down to the ship, and the pods they see in the pods are the residents of the neighborhood, and they find the real Max in the pod.
"Grandpa," said Gwen
She goes to the pod, opens it and Max comes out of the pod confused.
"I remember going for a walk, and then I end up here," said Max
Lincoln tries to open other pods but then hear, "I wouldn't do that if I were," Lincoln turns to see the fake Aunt Vera with other two fake elderly people
"I'm not going to listen to you," said Lincoln
"Oh, you well," said the other fake old person
The fake old people turn into green blobs that show their pink organs and have yellow eyes.
"You guys can fill me in later," said Max
As the blobs get closer to the three, Gwen accidentally touches their ship and opens up to show more pods inside.
"They found it we can't let them out just when they're at perfect marination," said one of the blob
"Marination?" said Max
"Oh my god, they were going to eat them like in that one Twilight zone episode," said Lincoln
Gwen turns around to see a pod sticking on the wall that has Aunt Vera "they have Aunt Vera."
Lincoln looks down to see the watch turn teal and ready to be used. Lincoln goes to Heatblast and slams on the centerpiece; however, he doesn't turn into Heatblast. Instead, he turns into a red armored alien with potholes around his body.
"Okay, what is this alien?" said Lincoln looking at hands to find it has portholes as well
"You better figure out fast, Lincoln," said Gwen, who, with the help of Max, tries to get Aunt Vera down
Lincoln aims his portholes at the alien who got closer to him and shot out beams of water at them, and they backway.
"Huh back in Aunt Vera house she didn't like the water," Lincoln thought
He shoots more water at them, making them weak suddenly, then merges into one big blob monster and grabs Lincoln.
"Enough we Limax has planned this for a while, and we're not going to stop by like you," said the blob monster
Lincoln looks up to see a large water pipe above the alien, and he blasts the pipes until they burst open raining water on the monster. It drops Lincoln as it turns into a puddle of a blob.
"I guess that was a Water hazard for them," Lincoln said. "Wait a minute Water hazard is a perfect name for this alien."
Meanwhile, Max and Gwen get the rest of the elderly, including Aunt Vera, out of the ship. The Limax sneaked back in the ship and started it up to everyone move back as the ship blasted out of the underground tunnel.
Max looks around at the pods "we should get them back to their condos so they'll think they never left."
"That'll take hours," said Gwen
"I think I got a faster way of doing in about a few minutes," said Lincoln
Tennyson's and Lincoln managed to get the residents back in their condos in less than two hours. The next day the three were saying their goodbyes to Aunt Vera.
"Now you guys don't be strangers," said Aunt Vera
"We won't," said Max
Aunt Vera hugs both Gwen and Lincoln "now you two enjoy your summer,"
"We will Aunt Vera," said Gwen as Aunt Vera let both of them go
Before Lincoln gets in Rustbucket, Aunt Vera tells him, "keep up the good work Lincoln."
"Wait what?" said Lincoln
"Ah don't worry about it," she then laughs
Lincoln chuckles as he gets in the Rustbucket and drives off from Aunt Vera's house and out of the neighborhood.
