Dear Readers,

Newly Ascended God is not dead. I am in the process of thinking up new content. Sadly, it may be a while before I have something out for reading. While you wait, I hope you enjoy this little bit of story development.

Chapter Eleven Sneak Peak

"Here is the today's report on Guild's activities," said Royman Mardeel, the head of the Adventurer's Guild and one of Orario's most powerful individuals. "In short, nothing unusual has happened."

Ouranos took what had been several hundreds of pages thick binder filled with words and graphs from Royman. What would have taken the average person several hours just to scan through or several days to digest its contents properly, Ouranos did it in seconds by flickering through the binder.

A jealous Royman stared at his patron god in envy. No matter how similar gods looked like mortals, there was an unfathomable difference, especially when their powers were not restricted. He wished that he had the same abilities as Ouranos. If he had the abilities of a god then the difficult task of managing the Adventurer's Guild would be a breeze.

"You can achieve the same feats if you Ascend," replied a bemused Ouranos as he put down the binder and glanced at Royman.

"No way! Impossible!" Royman waved his hand. "I would rather die than try Ascending."

"That is true," laughed Ouranos. "It doesn't just take talent and hard-working, but also the right opportunity. Yet, even with the three, it is still close to impossible that it is rare to even see a mortal to Ascend to godhood every few centuries."

"I am amazed that someone was able to become a mortal not too long ago," grumbled Royman as he recalled when he had heard the shocking event. "I had always thought like so many mortals that gods well have always existed since forever."

"Everything has lifespan, even us mighty gods," chuckled Ouranos. "It's just our lifespans and limits are so different from mortals that you cannot imagine there are things that even we cannot do."

"What is beyond even the gods?" asked Royman curiously.

"Time travel. Altering the past or travelling into the past is one such example."

"Really?" Royman stared incredulously at his patron god.

"Well," Ouranos rubbed his beard. "They are individuals capable of feats that gods are incapable of… They are called True Magicians for their ability to accomplish what is True Magic-"

Suddenly, the room started to shake.

Royman gripped the hold of a nearby statue to steady himself. He turned to stare at Ouranos in disbelief even as the room started to rock even more. The shaking got more serious as time passed by, and that only made Royman's shock grow. Earthquakes made been a common or rare occurrence depending on what part of the world that they lived, but earthquakes happening in Orario should be impossible. If they were then something had gone horribly wrong.

If Royman was shocked then Ouranous might have had a heart attack or stroke if such a thing was possible for gods. Before such an event could happen, which normally killed many mortals, the godly biology of Ouranos's body kicked into action to prevent any obstruction from blocking his heart or brain.

"Impossible…" Ouranos muttered in shock as he knew better an earthquake should not be possible. A seismic activity that could cause the building to happen should not be possible. It just couldn't.

His expression darkened as the shaking started to reach the magnitude that could threaten the existence of Orario as a city. Divine powers, which could easily level an entire city with ease, shot out of Ouranos. The shaking started to become weaker for a moment, and it seemed that the earthquake could come to an end when the shaking erupted again.

"The seals will not break under my watch!" Ouranos roared as more divine energy exploded from his body.

The shaking that had been about to get stronger, abruptly faltered as if met by more powerful force. In response, the quaking stopped momentarily before it started to get stronger. This only infuriated Ouranos. More divine energy poured out of his body.

The fight continued as one side was suppressed for a second before answering with more force.

"Sir are you alright?!" asked an alarmed Royman as he saw his patron's god starting to sweat even as Ouranos poured more energy to suppress the quakes.

"Not now, Royman! I am a bit busy right now," growled Ouranos as more divine energy burst out of him and he focused his mind to stop the quaking from worsening. "Gaia you will not break the seals suppressing you that easily!"

The quaking started to weaken drastically and as if trying one last stand, the room shook heavily much stronger that it had ever before then the shaking came to a complete halt.

Royman quickly raced to Ouranos. He caught the collapsing god.

"Thanks," muttered Ouranos as Royman helped the god to his throne.

"Sir, how bad is it?" asked a very anxious Royman.

"It…" Ouranos paused to recover his breath. "This is the worst attack on the seals in centuries."

Royman stared to shake in fear and his heart pounded at speeds not possible for someone of his age. Dread gripped him and the Guildmaster collapsed onto the ground.

"The seals are still intact, damaged, but they still working fine. Gaia will not be able to take control and regain control over the laws of the world," replied Ouranos wiped his sweaty brows. Royman sighed in relief. "The seals preventing Gaia from influencing the world are still holding but the same couldn't be said about the ones holding Gaia's spawn, monster. Most of them have taken various degrees of damage. Monsters should be surging into the Orario Dungeon."

The Guildmaster, who had just about to relax, felt like he had taken out of a firepit and thrown into the eternal damnation of hell.

"Prepare to mobilize the Reserves and start to recall all adventurer out of retirement. The Dungeon is going to become flooded with monsters and if we don't know anything then Orario is going to be flooded with monster bursting out from the dungeon."

- O -

Shirou and Rin were barely fazed by the shaking. They had after been born and raised in Japan, an island nation that had dozens of earthquakes of various magnitudes every year. From them it was a walk in the park.

The same couldn't be said for the Ishtar Familia. Many had never experienced it in their lives. They screamed in fear and didn't know what to do. The world might be ending for them. Those that had heard about earthquakes were few as experiencing an earthquake firsthand was another story. Frozen in shock they didn't know how to respond. A few of the Ishtar Familia that had experienced quakes before started to quickly guide their fellow familia members on what to do.

Arturia remained standing but she frowned in displeasure as the shaking was not natural.

The strength of the shaking become stronger and waned in unpredictable pattern. This caused Rin to ponder what was going on. In her mind, this wasn't a natural earthquake. It had to be caused by artificial factors.

"The earthquakes are the results of the seals locking Gaia away is weakening," said Merlin.

Shirou was about to ask more on the topic when he felt a seal that had been placed on him before coming down from Tenkai. A restraint placed on all gods before they had been allowed to set feet on the mortal world to prevent gods from abusing their divine powers. It was like the weight of the world had been taken off his shoulders as he felt the immense powers that made gods worshipped and feared returned.

This is Ouranos. I am temporarily lifting the restriction on divine powers for the foreseeable future. The earthquake just now was not a natural one, but one caused by Gaia trying to break free of the bindings restraining her. A voice spoke in Shirou's mind.

He looked around to see only the other gods in the room had heard the voice. It seemed like the mortals hadn't heard the voice as the mortal Ishtar Familia bodyguards outside the room didn't seem to have felt anything out of the usual.

For those young gods and goddess to that don't know about Gaia, I suggest you consult your seniors about the details.

The voice quickly started to fade away, and Shirou turned to others in the room.

"So how is the Gaia of this world different from the one I know?" He asked after learning about how Gaia had been restrained and the Gaia Suppression Force not too long ago.

"A lot," grumbled Rin as she massaged her temple, feeling an onset of a really bad headache coming. "The Gaia we know was more like an annoyed mother that would rarely ever punish humanity with natural calamities or having her creations act up. Gaia in this world is out for humanity's extinction."

"Something that was prevented during the Monster War. Many Divine Spirits sided with humanity to defeat Gaia and her children." Merlin added.

Arturia's expression darkened. "Not without great sacrifices. Many Divine Spirits suffered crippling injuries or died. Millions of humans and other races perished."

The normally cheerful Fou yelped in a saddened tone.

The solemn atmosphere taking place was quickly shattered when Shirou heard an explosion followed by a booming voice.

"Hahaha! Finally, I, Ares, the God of War, can fight without restraint. My children, it is time for war!"
