Lincoln and Tennyson were waiting for the gas to be filled up for the Rust Bucket in a town in the middle of Kansas. Lincoln and Gwen gathered snacks inside the gas station while Max watched the gas pump into the RV. Gwen grabbed a bag of cool ranch chips, and Lincoln got a box of cookies.
"Man, I'm starving," said Lincoln as his stomach grumbled.
"Maybe you shouldn't have overslept breakfast," said Gwen.
"Yeah, I stayed up way too late looking at some videos on your computer."
As they reached the cash register, they heard an explosion outside. Gwen and Lincoln dropped the snack and ran out to see a group of trio bank robber women with high-tech weapons trying to rob an armored bank truck.
Looks like time to be a hero, Lincoln thought.
The trio leader turned to the three and asked, "What are you guys looking at?" She aimed her weapon at them.
The leader fired her weapon at them, but Max pushed Lincoln and Max out of the way as the blast hit one of the pillars of the gas station. The leader goes back to her crew as they try to break open the armored tank.
"Time to teach these thieves a lesson," said Lincoln.
He went to his Omnitrix, picked Four-arms, and transformed. He jumped over the RV and did a ground pound, causing the ground to shake, knocking the thieves to the ground.
Four arms turned to Gwen and Max. "Get out of here!"
Max and Gwen ran off as Four-arms dealt with the armed robbers. The leader got up and shot him with her laser gun into the gas station's fuel pump, causing it to explode. Four-arms walked out, patting the fire off on one of his arms. He then grabbed one of the other robbers away from her.
"You wouldn't punch a girl, would you?" said the robber
"The hammer of justice is unisex," said Four-arm punching her
Then he felt another blast, and he saw the leader of the trio with her helmet removed, revealing her red spiky red hair. Before Four-arm made his first move on her, he saw two orange drones with weapons attached to them that looked the same as the large one way back at the beginning of the summer.
Oh, you've got to be kidding me. Four-arms thought
Four arms went to the drones instead of the leader as her gang began to book it away from the scene.
"C'mon, Rojo, we've got to go," said one of the robbers.
"No way I'm taking that freak down," said the leader as she aimed her gun at Four-arms, who was dealing with the drones.
Max saw what was going to happen. He tried to distract Rojo; he grabbed a tire and threw it at her. Rojo got distracted by the tire, causing her to miss and hit the remaining part of the gas station roof. Debris came off the roof and landed on Max.
"Grandpa!" Gwen shouted, witnessing the debris hitting him.
Four-arms and saw Max. He quickly grabbed the drones and smashed them together. He throws them at Rojo, knocking her off her feet and onto the ground. He ran to an injured Max and worried Gwen.
"I'm calling 9-1-1," said Gwen as she reached for her phone, but Four-arms stopped her.
"No time," said Four-arm
Four-arms grabbed Gwen and Max and headed to the hospital.
An hour later, at the hospital, Gwen and Lincoln await in the waiting room for the news on Max.
"I shouldn't have taken care of that robber chick first. Now look what had happen," said Lincoln.
"Lincoln, it's not your fault; you did your best," said Gwen.
"Then my best wasn't good enough," Lincoln looked at the ground, disappointed at himself.
Then the doctor for Max walked up to Gwen and Lincoln. The two looked at the doctor.
"Is my grandpa going to be alright?" said Gwen.
"Well, he has a broken leg, several lacerations, and a concussion, but with enough time, your grandpa will be alright. He's very tough for someone his age. By the way, how did this happen?" said the doctor.
"Car accident," Gwen and Lincoln said in unison.
The doctor raised an eyebrow, "...Okay then."

Somewhere on the outskirts of the town, Rojo was looking at the damaged drone after she escaped from the police.
Let's see if this thing has anything useful, she thought.
When she picked up the broken-up drone, she didn't expect it to be still working, even in a weakened state. It sticks something into Rojo, causing her to drop the drone on the ground. Rojo felt her body change with cybernetic enhancement over her body, like razor-sharp fingers, blasters coming out of her shoulders, and an extra pair of eyes, her skin turning red.
What is happening to me? Rojo thought
Then a booming voice came into her, and it was the one and only Vilgax. "So human you were foolish enough to mess with something that's out of your hand."
"Who are you?" said Rojo.
"Someone who's got a job to do with two benefits."
"And what are they?"
"You won't die, and I'll make sure you get a reward for the task I'll set for you."
"I'm listening."
…
Forty minutes later,
Gwen and Lincoln waited in Max's hospital room. Lincoln looked at the TV with an old cowboy show as he was still unconscious.
Man, how long before Mr. Tennyson wakes up? Lincoln thought
Gwen asked Lincoln, "I'm heading to the vending machine. Do you want something?"
"I'll take soda, but I'm coming with you because I'm getting tired of sitting anyway," said Lincoln.
Lincoln and Gwen walked out of Max's room and headed to the vending machines. At the vending machine, an idea popped into Lincoln's head.
"Hey Gwen, what if I use the Omnitrix to help your grandpa?" said Lincoln, activating it.
"I don't think it's a good idea, Lincoln. We just have to wait, alright," said Gwen.
Lincoln sighed, "fine."
Then, bursting through the hospital, the window was Rojo, looking around until she spotted Lincoln.
"Alright, brat, hand me the Omnitrix," said Rojo.
"No way," said Lincoln.
"Have it your way."
Rojo started to shoot at Lincoln and Gwen with her shoulder blaster. The two avoid her blast and run toward the stairway.
As Gwen ran with Lincoln, she told him, "I think that was the leader of those bank robbers."
"Yeah, it looked like she merged with one of those alien drones. But how? "said Lincoln.
"No idea, and how did she find you?"
Lincoln realized how she found him. "It must be the Omnitrix that's how she found me."
Lincoln and Gwen reached the bottom of the stairway. They reached the exit and got out of the hospital. They quickly hid behind a bunch of ambulances in the parking lot. Rojo came flying around the air looking for Lincoln, then she turned behind her.
This would get him out, Rojo thought.
Rojo fired at the mountain, causing a large landslide. Lincoln saw the rock coming toward them, and he acted quickly. He wanted to change back into Four-arms again, but instead, he transformed into Big Chill.
I've got no time to complain, Big Chill thought.
Big Chill flew up in the air, and he used his frost breath to freeze the large rocks before they came near the hospital.
"Lincoln, lookout!" Gwen shouted.
Big chill turned and blasted out of the air as Rojo fell into the middle of town. He got up and quickly recovered as Rojo continued to shoot at him. Big Chill quickly turned invisible.
Where did he go? Rojo thought
Big Chill appeared right behind her and punched her out of the air, and she landed on the ground. He quickly flew back down to the ground and used his cryo power to completely freeze Rojo.
That takes care of her, Big Chill thought as he flew off back to the hospital.
Max was moved to a new room an hour later, and Lincoln was deep in his thoughts.
Great, I put Gwen and Mr. Tennyson in danger again. It's happening again. I'll just mess things up for them and cause problems like I did with my family. Lincoln thought
Then his thoughts get interrupted when he hears Max starting to work up. Lincoln and Gwen go up to him.
"Grandpa?" said Gwen.
"Gwen, what happened?" said Max.
"You got hurt during a robbery."
"Then the leader of the robbery merged with a drone and tried to take the Omnitrix, but I took care of her," said Lincoln.
"Okay, then everything will be alright," said Max.
Lincoln thought: Yeah, everything will be alright if I think of a way of not getting you two into danger.
…
Meanwhile, Rojo began to unfreeze, but Vilgax came into her mind again, and he was not happy.
"You failed me," said Vilgax.
"You never told me that I had to face a freaking superhero," said Rojo.
"I don't care; get that Omnitrix, or you'll die in the most painful death; do you understand that?"
"G-got it, I'll rip that watch off that kid."
…
At night, Max and Gwen were asleep. Lincoln decided to take a walk out in the park without telling the two, just wanting to think of any ideas and not let anything happen to Tennyson; he even considered leaving them and being on his own again. As he walked around the park, he saw a family having fun on the playground.
Better times, Lincoln thought.
Then he heard an explosion. He ran out of the park and saw tons of police cars rushing by. Lincoln had a pretty good guess as to who would cause that explosion. He went to Omnitrix, transformed into Fasttrack, and headed to the explosion.
Fasttrack arrived at the police academy to see Rojo attacking everything in sight until she saw him.
"I knew you would show up," said Rojo.
"Look, I beat you two times on this lousy day. Why don't you give up already?" said Fasttrack.
"Not going to happen. He wants that watch of yours, and I aim to get it for him."
"I'll deal with whoever that is after I take care of you once and for all."
Rojo then fired a couple of shots at Fasttrack, who avoided them. He ran up a building and jumped off, kicking Rojo in the face. But she grabbed Fasttrack and threw him into a parked car, then Rojo fired at the car and exploded it. Fasttrack quickly recovered in the air and landed on his feet. But then a tank arrived behind the two of them and fired at them. Fasttrack avoided the tank shells; however, Rojo flew straight at it and picked it up. The soldiers inside of the tank got out of it. She then throws the tank at Fasttrack, and it seemed like she hit him, but she was wrong, as Fast Track dealt severe blows to her, sending her flying back. But laying on her back, her shoulder blaster fired a shot, knocking Fasttrack a few feet away from her.
As Fasttrack got up, he thought, what's going to take to stop her for good?
"Lincoln," Fasttrack turned to see Gwen in an alley. He quickly grabbed her as Rojo got back up.
Fasttrack took her near the damaged police academy and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"Looking for you since you left the hospital without a word," said Gwen, crossing her arms.
Before Fasttrack could get a word, he turned back to Lincoln and said, "Oh, perfect."
Then the two heard Rojo come toward them, and they started to run away from her. They ended up in the police academy; they hid until the Omnitrix was ready to be used. In the meantime, Lincoln explained to Gwen why he had left.
"Look, I just wanted to clear my head and try to think of a way not to put you and your grandpa in danger."
"You weren't thinking of leaving us, did you?" said Gwen.
"Kinda, but I didn't want to do that to you guys for you. I just don't want you guys in this type of situation."
"Look, Lincoln, me and my grandpa knew what could happen on this trip when you joined, and we're going to help you no matter what. And honestly, despite the danger, it has kind of been an exciting summer so far."
Then blasting started to come in from outside, with Rojo yelling, "Come out already, hero boy."
"I'm getting sick of her." Then Gwen's phone started to ring, and she looked to see if it was Max, and she answered it. She hands it to Lincoln, "It's for you."
"Lincoln, listen. You can't just beat the woman from the outside. You have to beat her from the inside," said Max.
Then an idea popped into Lincoln's head. "I think I know you mean Mr. Tennyson."
"See Lincoln, you're not alone in this," said Gwen.
"Alright, I've got a plan."
Rojo then blasted her away into the police academy and felt the watch being used in the academy gym. She went to check, and she found no sign of the Omnitrix.
"Where is he?" said Rojo.
"Right above you," Rojo looked up and saw Upgrade hanging on the ceiling above her.
He just dropped her and began to merge with her. She tried to rip him off of her. As he was merging, he saw something in her head and glowing red eyes that knew the young hero was in Rojo's head.
"You think you're safe with Omnitrix, but you will not be when I come to earth ripped from your arm."
"Who are you?" said Upgrade.
"I'm Vilgax. You better count the days until I come for you."
Rojo breaks the conversation by getting Upgrade off of her. Upgrade felt a bit disoriented but recovered before Rojo tried to blast him. Upgrade, then he used the gym equipment around him to his advantage, using the weight equipment to damage her. Then she falls on the treadmill. Upgrade quickly goes to it and merges with the equipment, causing it to speed up, causing her to collide with the wall hard. Rojo started to feel weak, and Upgrade merged with Rojo again. He managed to take control of her whole body. In less than a minute, he managed to take all of the cybernetic drones off of Rojo, making her normal again. Upgrade got out of her.
Rojo looked at herself and said, "Woah, it's all gone." She then looks at Upgrade. "Look, it wasn't all me, it was that drone and I'm really sorry."
"Uh huh," said Upgrade.
Rojo then saw her old gun, and she tried to quickly grab it, but Gwen intervened.
"Oh no, you don't," said Gwen.
She jumps, kicks Rojo in her head, and knocks her out.
"That was awesome, Gwen," said Upgrade.
"Thanks," said Gwen.
Then they heard the police siren from outside of the police station.
"We should get out of here," said Upgrade.
"Right behind you," said Gwen.
The two left the police academy as the cops stormed the place and found the unconscious Rojo.
The next morning, Max was out of the hospital with a cast on his legs. As Lincoln and Gwen explained what happened to Rojo, then Lincoln brought up something.
"Then I was in her head for a moment. I saw red eyes and I heard a voice itself called Vilgax," said Lincoln. Max stopped for a moment, and Lincoln asked, "Um, Mr. Tennyson, what's wrong?"
"Nothing kiddo, just my leg, that's all," said Max.
"Oh, okay."
As the trio walked to the Rust Bucket, Max thought to himself, Vilgax has returned.
