(Author note: and I'm finally done with this chapter)

Lincoln and the Tennysons were on a tour group at a witchcraft museum in New Orleans. The three were listening to an older woman tour guide talking about an old magical book called "Archamada," or "The Book of Spells." Gwen took an interest in the book.

"The book is the only one of its kind," said the tour guide.

Then she and Gwen describe the book simultaneously: "The book contains magical spells, rituals, incantations, and witchcraft that date back to the 16th century."

The tour guide gave Gwen a side glance and said, "Perhaps you should take a career as a tour guide." Then she walked off with a few tourists.

Gwen was a bit embarrassed, but Lincoln tried to cheer her up.

"Ah, don't worry about her, she's probably as old as some of the things here," said Lincoln, causing Gwen to chuckle.

Then, all of a sudden, everyone in the museum was lifted up in the air and pinned to the ceiling.

"I guess this isn't part of the tour group," said Max.

Then a red and black smoke came through one of the museum windows, then materialized into the room was a man wearing a red and black robe; he had gray skin and white skull face paint. The man walked around with a bird cane and wore a necklace with a dozen charms on it.

The man walked toward Archamada and said to himself, "The book will give me great power."

The man broke the glass case with his unknown power and grabbed the book. Lincoln was about to use his Omnitrix, but suddenly he and others began to fall down from the ceiling. Luckily, Lincoln transformed into Fasttrack, and ran down the wall, then used a banner to get everyone to slide down it and landed safely on the ground.

"Everyone get out of here," said Fasttrack.

People ran out of the museum; before Max left, he shouted to Fasttrack.

"Be careful. You have no idea what you're up against! " Then he left the building, leaving Fasttrack with the strange man.

Fasttrack tried to use the banner to wrap it around the strange man, but he said a few Latin words and caused the banner to catch fire.

Oh, c'mon, Fasttrack thought.

"I have no idea what you are, but you will prevent me from taking what is mine," the strange man said.

Then his cane began to shoot out red crystals at the hero, but Fasttrack managed to dodge them and used the crystals to tear the banner apart until there was nothing left. Fasttrack tries to land a punch on the strange man, but a large force pushes Fasttrack to the ground. With just his hand, the strange man pushed Fasttrack into a wall. Before the strange man could do anything else, he got hit by a couple of pieces of trash, and he turned to see Max and Gwen throwing garbage from the trash can.

"Enough of this nonsense," said the strange man.

But then Fasttrack got back up and started around the man, becoming a blur to him, but he only saw punches from Fasttrack until he was knocked out and fell to the ground with one of his charms broken from his necklace.

Fasttrack picked it up and thought sweet a souvenir

Max came up to Fasttrack, "great job."

"Thanks, Mr. Tennyson."

As they walked away, Gwen thought to herself, I helped too.

The strange man was getting carted off into the ambulance when the Tennysons and Lincoln were in the RV talking about the event, with Gwen asking Lincoln.

"So what's it like being a hero?"

"I guess it feels great, I suppose. Why did you ask?" said Lincoln.

"It's just that you save the day and get all the credit while I get nothing."

"Gwen being a hero isn't all about the glory. It's just doing the right thing."

"He's right, Gwen," said Max.

"Fine, I hope I at least get something cool for my effort."

Lincoln went into his pocket and pulled out the charms. He gives it to Gwen, "How about this?"

"It's something I found next to that weird guy I was going to keep, but I think you should have it."

Gwen smiled and looked at the charm, "Thanks, Lincoln."

"No problem, Gwen."

Gwen thought that was sweet of him. She then stuck the charm into his pocket.

Gwen, Max, and Lincoln went to a seafood restaurant for lunch. Gwen made the charm into her own necklace. The trio ate his crawfish and other seafood dishes. After that, Gwen noticed a cart with chocolate cookies.

Hm, I could make some room for them, Gwen thought.

Then the charm flashed yellow for a moment, the cart started to roll on its way to the trio table, and the plate of cookies went from the cart near Gwen.

"Woah, that's pretty cool," said Lincoln.

"Yeah, it was," said Gwen, grabbing a cookie, but then she noticed the yellow glow from her charm before it disappeared.

Later, at the food market, Gwen wanted to thank Lincoln for the charm. She went to a hotdog vendor. But then she heard a woman shriek.

"Someone helped those three took my purse!" said the lady.

The three goons ran after Gwen, Max, and Lincoln with the woman's purse. Lincoln tried to use the Omnitrix, but something was wrong with it as he tried to become Diamond Head.

Oh, come on, not now, Lincoln thought.

Gwen's charm started to flash as when she took a step back, she accidentally knocked down a street performer juggling a bowling ball pin in the air while on a unicycle. He fell to the ground, and Gwen caught one of the pins and threw it at one of the goons, and he got knocked out. Then Max got the other goon into a headlock. The last goon with the woman's purse almost got away, but he slipped on the bowling pin that Gwen threw and hit a shelf with flower pots, and one of them landed on the goon's head, knocking him out.

The Omnitrix started to work again, and Lincoln thought, Really, now you want to help?

Gwen grabbed the purse from the goon and handed it back to its rightful owner.

"Thank goodness you are a hero," said the woman.

A hero? Gwen thought, then she saw a cat-like mask displayed at a costume shop. Yeah, a hero.

Later that night, Lincoln woke up by Max snoring and wondered if he should get earplugs. Then he noticed Gwen was gone in the Rustbucket, and he left the RV to look for her. It didn't take too long as he found her on a basketball court with a basketball.

"Gwen, it's like seven in the morning what are you doing on the basketball court?" said Lincoln.

"Just what is this?" said Gwen.

She turned her back and threw the ball into the hoop without looking. Her charm glowed, and it went through the hoop.

"How did you do that?" asked Lincoln.

Gwen held up her charm. "It's this charm. It gives me good luck."

"That would explain a lot of things that happened yesterday."

"So I was wondering, Lincoln, if you don't mind if I used my charm to help you more on crime fighting."

"Like partners?"

"Yeah, I even got a costume."

"Are you kidding? That would be great. You and I could be Luke Cage and Iron Fist or Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. "

Gwen smiled, "Great. I'll get ready when trouble comes around."

"Yeah, one of my sisters would probably gush about your charm and all of this magical."

"Sisters, how many do you have?"

Lincoln quietly "Um, about ten,"

"You have ten sisters?!"

"Yeah, it's another story for another day."

As Lincoln was about to walk back, he tripped on his shoelace and was about to fall until Gwen caught him without the charm activating. The two looked for a moment, blushing and being redder than tomato

"Ha, nice catch," said Lincoln, who had gotten back on his feet again.

"Yeah, um, thanks," said Gwen.

As the two awkwardly walked back to the Rustbucket, both of them thought to themselves.

Why do I have this weird feeling in my chest? Gwen thought

Get a hold of yourself, Lincoln. There's no way Gwen's into you like that, Lincoln thought.

The next day, more trouble arose as an explosion from nearby construction. That has a few constructions trapped in precarious positions. One was hanging onto the roof, the other was unconsciously trapped between metal rods, and the other was between rising fires. Lincoln looked around for Gwen since she wanted, but she wasn't around.

I wonder where she could be? Lincoln thought as he went to the watch, transforming into Ghostfreak.

He turned invisible and flew through the bar. He tries to phase him and the worker out of the metal rods.

Max attempted to save the unconscious person from the fire in the construction building, but someone else caught his attention.

"Gwen, what are you wearing?" said Max.

"Grandpa, it's not Gwen, it's Lucky Girl," said Gwen.

Gwen wore a purple jumpsuit, black gloves, and a purple cat mask. She rushes up to the construction site, and her lucky charm flashes and a bag of gravel dropped down on the rising fire, putting it out and leading the worker out of harm's way. As Ghostfreak was going to save the last worker hanging on the roof, he saw Gwen in her Lucky Girl costume.

Woah, she looks cool, Ghostfreak thought.

Then the worker's hand lost grip and started to fall. Ghostfreak flew as fast as he could, but Gwen's lucky power got the lever on the cement truck to pour a large amount of cement on the ground. The Ghostfreak was going to talk to Gwen, but the Omnitrix started and rushed to the Rustbucket to turn back to himself. Meanwhile, Gwen was approached by a newswoman to do a quick interview.

"So who are you, and how did you save those workers?" said Newswoman.

"I'm Lucky Girl, with my partner and my luck, we're just here to save the day," said Gwen, who then ran off.

But unknown to her, someone was watching, and he was not happy with what was around Gwen's neck.

Gwen and Lincoln talked to each other back to the trio while Gwen looked more into the charm.

"Gwen, your costume was great," said Lincoln.

"Thanks, Lincoln. I bet it looked good on camera," said Gwen.

"Hm, I wonder if I should get a costume too?"

"You should." Gwen finds a website about charms and the book from the museum. "Hey, check this out. This charm is one of the five charms of Bezel, and with the book of Archamada, the usher would have complete power in the magic art."

"Huh, I guess why did that strange guy try to steal that book?"

Max overhears the conservation and says, "I think we should return that charm back to the museum just to be safe."

"But Grandpa I can do so much with this charm," said Gwen.

"I don't know."

But then their conversation gets cut off by the TV with a news report about a famous haunted house museum that has come alive and people trapped inside of it. Putting the conversation on hold, Max drives the RV to the living museum.

They arrived at the museum to see if the report was right, with the objects everywhere in the house and the tourist trapped inside. Gwen has gotten into her Lucky Girl costume and is headed into the house with Lincoln and her Grandpa following her. Once inside, the chairs, tables, and other pieces of furniture start to come at Gwen, but due to her lucky charm, they ignore her and go to Lincoln and Max. Lincoln quickly chooses a line form, and he transforms into Rath.

"Oh yeah, no furniture is going to stop me," said Wraith, smashing a table with his feet.

Seriously, why that alien? Gwen thought as she ran up the stairs and retrieved the tourist from the balcony.

The wires to the balcony started to snap one by one as Gwen led the people off the balcony, and her charm made the wires slowly snap for a moment. Then a chandelier came down, but Rath caught it and smashed it like a football player after scoring a touchdown.

With everyone saved, Rath and Max walked, but then the door shut on Gwen.

"You have something that belongs to me,"

Gwen turned to see the strange man from yesterday holding the book of Archamada.

"Who are you?" said Gwen.

"My name is Hex and I want my charm back," said the strange man who tried to use his power to grab it from Gwen's neck.

But Gwen started to run away from Hex further through the house, and he ran after her. Then the sealed door is kicked down by Rath; he and Max follow them. Gwen ran into a study that seemed to have no way out. Then the charm glowed, and a book fell off a bookcase. Gwen saw a lever and pulled it to find a secret passage to the catacombs. She enters with Hex right behind her.

Hex tried to blast her with some magic from his cane, then parts of the roof fell on him, but he shielded himself from the debris.

C'mon, charm, get me out of here, Gwen thought.

Just like that, an opening out of the catacombs was revealed to Gwen through a false door, and she got out of the catacombs and came into the graveyard. Hex walked out of the catacombs as well.

"I'm getting tired of running after you little girl. I'm putting an end to this nonsense," said Hex.

"Then about you take a rest," Hex turned and got punched by Rath. He stumbled near a couple of gargoyles.

"I'm so glad to see you again," said Gwen.

"Let me tell you something, Lucky Girl with me around this weirdo isn't going to be a problem."

Hex uses his power to make the gargoyles come to life, and he points them at Wraith.

Wraith quickly grabbed a stone sword. "Let me tell you something, gargoyles. I'm not afraid of no gargoyles."

Gwen and even Max groan at that remark as Rath fights the gargoyles with the stone sword. Max came right behind Hex and put him into a full nelson, making him drop his cane. However, Hex used his magic to push Max off of him.

"Once I get my charm back, all of you will be nothing but an afterthought," said Hex.

"Too bad you don't have any luck is on your side," said Gwen.

As she jumped up and kicked Hex in the face while combing her charm, his necklace fell off his neck. Gwen grabbed it and threw it in the air. She shouted at Rath, who chopped off one of the gargoyles.

"Rath destroys the charms!" she shouted.

"Got it," said Rath

Once the charm hit the ground, Wraith used the stone sword to smash the charms, causing a blue blast to come out, and the remaining gargoyles turned back to normal.

He stares at his now destroyed charms in horror and says, "No, this can't be."

Max walked up and grabbed the magical book from Hex. "I think this doesn't belong to you."

Then the police arrive at the scene and arrest Hex as the trio leaves the graveyard, and the day is finally over.

Later in the night, Gwen and Lincoln looked at Gwen's charms at the dinette while Max was asleep.

"So is Mr. Tennyson, letting you keep the charm?" said Lincoln.

"Since the book is returned and the other charms are destroyed, I get to keep them, but I think I'm only going to use them for emergencies," said Gwen.

"Why?"

"Being a superhero is hard. I have no idea how you do it, Lincoln?"

"I don't know, but I manage, besides with you on my side. you're mine; good luck."

Gwen blushed. She then teased a little, "What do you mean, Lincoln?"

Lincoln blushed harder. "I mean w-without you. I might never have gotten Omnitrix, and you helped me a lot." Lincoln quickly got up. "Whelp, I think I'm going to hit the hay. See, good night, Gwen." He then went to bed.

Gwen thought. When he blushed like he got cuter, Gwen thought, then blushed again. Oh no, I might have a crush on Lincoln.
